Static/clicking sounds on New Microsoft Voice Cmd Ver.1.5 - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Does anyone have Microsoft voice command version 1.5? And if you do, with the incoming caller announcement enabled, do you get a static clicking sound on your phone device when you get and incoming phone call? I am using a XDA IIs and have this issue. Is there a work around for this issue? Any help would be greatly appreaciated.
Thanks,
Mike

I too have the problem of sound stuttering.
I've never installed any version of voice command.
Al applications playing sound, like media player or any other music player and even the spoken words from TomTom seem to suffer from this.
Since all WAV/MP3 audio seems te suffer from this I gather it must be a CODEC issue of some sort, probably caused by installing some application that has overwritten system files.
Does anybody know a way to solve this ?
It does not seem to occur after a hard reset, I havent tried reinstalling applications one by one to find the culprit, I just restored a Sprite backup.

Yes, I've got the same problem... I just upgraded to VC1.5, and the clicking is only on the announcement of incoming calls... all else seems fine.
Treo

same here with my pda2k.

I have the same issue.
To solve that, Just disable this function.
Tap at start >setting >personal >voice command
at Phone option disable "Announce incoming calls"
I think version 1.5 has so many option that you can select more that the old one.
Voice command over bluetooth is still not work.

I'm afraid this is a more general problem (see earlier threads). There are also problems with WM10 and GPS. I've found that WM10 is OK when No other programm is running. GPS is a larger programm and continues to give voice problems. Maybe the problem can be solved if we could increase the working memory. Who has a suggestion?

I know un checking that option will fix the issue but then I can't use it. So it does not solve the issue. LOL so if anyone does know a way to make the audio a higher priority or something to make it work please let me know.
Thanks,
Mike

Fixed it, you have to use resco and change audio priority in settings to 110 in registry. Works like a charm now.

Hi Mikee4fun,
Could you be more specific about which key/value/data in registry that you changed to fix this?
Thanks in forehand!

Can you share the registry entry that needs to be changed?

Ditto, I'd like to know too please cos I've got the same problem.
Own an XDAIIs and use Microsoft Voice Command 1.5 with the stuttery incoming call announcements. Everything else works flawlessly.
Is Microsoft Voice Command the dogs b*ll*cks when it comes to voice recognition! It's the most accurate voice recognition system I've come across. Well done Microsoft, you've made something that works well (for a change ) , apart from stuttery voice announcements of course.

anybody experiencing about 1 to 2 second lag before the ringtone actually rings when you have incoming calls with announce incoming call enabled?
I'm having voice command installed on my Storage area of my Xda ii mini. I'm wondering if that's the reason why it lags?

Here is the exact registry entry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\WaveDev\Priority256
A detailed thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=107031#107031

Well I just noticed this static noise while announcing the name with MVC or playing any other audio on the Blue angel only, I tried it on the hima it works flawlessly it never occured

VC 1.5 static problems
 yup just tried the fix with resco registry editor and all is fine
thx for the info
just another reason why this site is so good imo

microsoft voice command

is anyone know where can i buy the program in uk i did try in handango but they said not for sell in this country.thanks
It is not posible outside EEUU, I asked handandgo by email and answer it was forbiden by Microsoft.
Try Fonix software it works really well.
www.fonix.com
Cheers
If you have an XDAII, then you can get a fully working version of it with the official o2 UK 1.72 upgrade. I don't use it very much as I always feel an idiot saying the name, then normally having to confirm it before dialing, when I can just as easily go into speed dial or call history etc.
However, when I have used it it works a treat.
Cheers
Anthony
I use Fonix in the car all the time and its works great for me.
I found that Voice command recognised the contact I wanted 95% of the time, but then didn't recognise me saying 'yes' to confirm it.
In my case, Fonix does not always recognize my 'NO' command... :S
But still it's a great contender for MS VC....
By the way, is there a way to avoid Fonix to change my microphone AGC setting? It always changes it to AGC OFF, thus the recognition gets affected drastically, however when AGC is ON I get 98% success rate!
TIA,
Rayan
what version of Fonix voice dial are you using. I used the first version with my XDA1, this worked wonderfully.
I have found that the 2.0 version doesn't have a UK voice (the us ones are a bit odd). In addition i have noted the recognition does seem poor and it doesn't repeat the contact, just says "your contact"!!
Any ideas / help always welcome!
voice commands
hi,
you don 't really have to buy this software, you can download it probabely from following site: www.suprnova.org
I'm using the latest version (2.0)...
The weird thing is that it does not always change the AGC Setting...
I have not found a pattern, it seems more like random...

Voip setting

where i can set voip account for voip calls on wm6 ??
Tak e alook here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=303493
thansk a lot
Configured and connected to my voip carrier but whan i call....the other telephone rings, but i can't hear nothing on my p3600.The other phone can hear me! Why?
Same here, I suggest you post it in the other thread.
You shouldn'T have opened this one in the first place.
Which thread to use VoIP problem with Trinity
It seems that this problem (Cannot hear anything but can be heard) is specific to the Trinity. The other forum is about how to configure a SIP account for use with inbuilt VoIP in WM6. On that forum - there are Trinity users talking about their specific VoIP problem as cited above.
As this issue is not one concerning the SIP account configuration, I feel that it deserves it's own thread. How about renaming this thread to VoIP problems with Trinity WM6 delivery 1979 - then we can all get together to share problems about VoIP with the Trinity WM6 ROMS. Perhaps mUn and Lvsw can enlighten us and eventually include fixes in their upcoming ROMS.
I have yet to have a definitive answer from anyone about successfully setting up VoIP and getting it working consistently on the Trinity. If most users can indeed do this - the problem is isolated to a few dunces like me. however - as nobody has confirmed a working VoIP in WM6 for Trinity - I think a Trinity specific problem that merits a thread.

There's one-way audio on the Trinity with WM6 internet calling (SIP).
Third-party SIP phones have 2-way audio, but it's always on the speakerphone.

hi, i have configured image lvsw 2.0.0.7 with sip provider lowratevoip. My problem is no voice from the speaker. Thank best regard Antonio
albertazzi65 - did you try the fix that lvsw suggested in his post:
VoIP FIX!!!!
Remove the values:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\RTC\AdapterTypes]
"1"=dword:00020001
"2"=dword:00020002
I would be curious to see if after flashing the 2.0.0.7 version of the ROM and applying this fix it works?
My next tests to get VoIP working were going to be : 1. Flash 2.0.0.7 2. Apply the above fix 3. Replace rtcdll.dll with this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=39424&d=1179658323 at each step I would check the functionality of VoIP to see if at any stage it works! If you could try (as you've already flashed to 2.0.0.7) - that would help a lot.

The problem is that DLL's used in Trinity roms are from different devices, and as I was explained, drivers for Trinity's audio are different. Haven't tried to replace dll, but no luck with registry settings...
OK. Flashed 2.0.0.7 ROM. Replaced DLL. Configured SIP. Tried a call. I could hear the person I was calling. the sound was very faint and coming from the main speaker. There was also a half second delay.
(I could be heard clearly).
I then tried the registry fix. Now there is just a slight interference noise coming from the main speaker - like a bad phone line - but no voice from the other end. Put the registry keys back - still the same.
Conslusion - I once made a successful two way call through my trinity's phone earpiece. Only once though. This time I got one successful 2 way call - with crappy sound through the main speaker.
This is not progress, but it's clear that the Trinity is capable of it.

hi, pass1 ok, pass 2 ok, pass3 ok..... call voip no voice to the speaker.
It should work on the trinity because if you use a software like I have done with SJPhone, it works. You can hear your correspondant and he can hear you. The only thing is taht it works on the speaker, so you can use a earphone bluetooth or not and then it works fine.
I have tried and I have the same issue as everyone with WM6 IP phone and no problem on SJPHONE with WM6.
Yes - but the whole point is that it is integrated in the ROM and integrates with the phone a lot better. (As soon as I am at home on WiFi - my calls are VoIP routed). Thanks anyway!
Trinity VOIP no sound problem SOLVED
did a bit of research in the forum. Here's my solution.
Trinity with 2.0.0.7 ROM, SIP conf tool v2.0.1.
Downloaded http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=39424&d=1179658323
Switched off VOIP and Wi-Fi, replaced the above file in \Windows folder, softreset and here we are, loud and clear sound from the external speaker using VOIP. Hope this helps anyone
But no fix for the internal speaker? Oh well can't have everything.

FM-radio software mutes when switching channels.

I have a problem: When switching channels the sound of my fm-radio mutes. The sound comes back when I make us of one of the buttons.
This is really anoying if you are a channelskipper like me...
Am I the only one with this problem?
Does anybody knows what causes it and how to solve it?
Many thanks in advance..

I use my radio reguraly, and I know it's something with software...
A hard reset will fix it, but it returns within a few days.
At one point I noticed the occuring of this problem. I was listening to my radio when I received an call.
Without answering the call I pulled out the headset to answer it with the phone to my ears. When I finished the call the problem with the fm-radio returned.
I'm using this software:
1. Spb Phonesuite
2. Spb Mobile Shell
3. Spb Pocket Plus
4. Smartmovie
5. Betaplayer
6. Sprite Backup
This is my standard configuration.
Any similarities with your software profile?
Another reply
Noticed that if you use the predefined stations(and the sound works) you can choose other stations without any problems.
When the sound is muted(due to the problem) this will not work. Also channelsearch(not preset autosearch) doesn't work. It won't find the stations
I saw WM6 is released. Maybe the problem will be fixed with this update.
Or does anybody has a fix? Am I (with a few other users) the only one with this problem?
Maybe this will work?
I saw an fm-radio app for an Eten device.

FM radio problem partially solved?
I discovered something.
The problems with the radio only occurs when you have disabled the sound for "Events(warnings, system)" in settings/personal/ sound en messages.
In my case, when I enable these sounds (anoying screen taps etc.) the problem is gone.
It looks like the system needs a sound at the end to be able to switch the channels.
Kinda weird isn't it?
Regards,
Dwaaz
PS. I know it's not caused by any third party software, because there isn't any on it.
this message is for nothing. I had problems with my connection en post the same message twice.
Has anyone been able to extract the radio software?

VOIP bug in wm6 ( Trinity ver)

There are alot posts and threads about SIP calling with a trinity and none of the conclude, Is there anyone that works on fixing the issue with sip internet calling for trinity ?
I speak of the issue of not hearing the other recipient.
OR is anyone that has installed a rom with WM6 on a trinity and SIP works fine for him ?

Well my friend I have had a similar problem, but when I replaced the dll file as it was mentioned on the specified thread....with Resco explorer (could not do it with the standard file explorer of windows...), it worked OK. Sometimes however you have to try a couple of times to get a clear line, but I think this is an issue of the traffic you have on your WiFi ( I only use it with WiFi..). Also the voice you listen back is a bit faint, but with the headset you get in the purchase box of the P3600, problem is solved. Follow the instructions as they say and you will be fine!
SIP works fine for me, except for the fact that there's just not enough bandwidth for clear ulaw, and we need g729 or gsm for any kind of viability...
I've noticed the in call volume is very faint as well to the point of being unusable...
Is there a registry hack we can apply to change this?
Using Mun.s TE. CHeers

Callers can't hear me

So recently I've been having this weird issue where callers call and I'll answer but they can't hear me. It happens when I call out too. I'm not using any headsets or anything, but it seemed like it started happening when I started turning on bluetooth and leaving it on. But if I have my headset on, that part works fine, they can hear me. I had a custom rom that I cooked myself that seemed to work fine until then.
So I figure I'd ditch my own rom thinking maybe I screwed something up while cooking it, so now I'm using PDAVIET DV's most recent rom. I tested it all yesterday and it seemed fine, but then that night I got a few calls that couldn't hear me again.
This morning things were fine again, after I shut it off then back on. I made a lot of calls out and in from another cell phone, and it worked fine. Then while I was waiting for a phone interview, it didn't work again. Is anyone else having this issue? Or does anyone know why it's happening?
I'm starting to think may it's a sleep issue, because the only thing my phone did in the time between my this morning's testing and the phone interview, was it sat idle in standby mode.
Any Ideas?

My own custom WM6.1 19209 rom, but also happens on DVH 19701 also. Soft reset doesnt seem to help, but power off, and back on does help until phone goes back to standby.

I just realized I have a sound issue also. I almost always use my bluetooth headset, but yesterday I tried just talking on the phone and the other person could not hear me. I reset the phone and it worked again, but only for a while. I noticed though that when it stops sending my voice to the other person, I can still hear myself in my earpiece. I even loaded Voice Recorder after it quit sending my voice over the phone and it recorded my voice just fine, so I know this is not a hardware issue. Has anyone else experienced this?
EDIT - I did a soft reset, and it didn't fix the problem. I disabled 3G, soft reset, and it worked again for now. Could this be radio related?
EDIT 2 - Disabling 3G wasn't the answer. I did that again and it didn't work this time. Might try a different ROM and see if the issue persists.

Ok just consolidating our issue into my original thread from last week.
I've resorted to not installing all my usual software, and only have this installed so far:
Schap's 2G Dialer
Schap's Advanced Configuration Tool
6 Button Comm Manager
HTC Home Plugin
ELF Calculator skin
Arcsoft MMS 5.0.31.11
HTC Connection Setup
no2chem nueLED
And so far (for two days) I haven't had any issues... here's the software I have yet to install that I usually install:
ATIFix
Cyberon VoiceCommander or MS Voice Command (thought it was one of these but it turned out not)
GoogleMaps
MS Office 2007
WindowsLive10.6.0034.0800
SRS_WOWHD_bt_fixed
TCMPv0.81
FlashVideoBundle
I was thinking maybe it was because of bluetooth being on or something too.
SRS WowHD do that issue. Download another version of that program and phone will be all right.
Mine has gone all day and it seems to be working. I think it's the SRS_WOWHD_bt_fixed cab like wikiri mentioned.
I have flashed official AT&T-ROM, then hardSPLv7, then PDAViet 19900-rom and after that radio rom 1.47.30.10. Mic works sometimes but most of the time it does not. I do not have any issues with roms no hard-reset or anything else wierd but this mic thing.
My PDA is just repaired and switchboard has been replaced and some other components. They said everything should be working and it is tested.
I have installed only ConnectionSettings.cab and latest live-messenger. Mic does not work on phone calls or when recording something.
So could this still be hardware issue?

My phone is doing the same thing.
How do you fix the SRS_WOWHD_bt_fixed cab?
Is it a patch or a setting you can manually change in the Phone.
