Extended VGA themes on imate JasJar / TSK files - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro Software Upgrading

Hi All,
I have been experiencing an issue that relates to extended VGA themes. Mostly, I use the ext themes available form developers such as Spb, who pioneered these themes. On all my 2003SE devices they works just fine. However, on the JasJar I have experienced the following:
1) Installation:
If the device is in default landscape mode, selecting any theme OTHER THAN the ROM themes from the today settings will not change the theme, even though the device seems to go through the process. Returning to the today screen proves this. If the device is in portrait mode however, the theme (ROM or 3rd party) installs properly!!
The only thing that lacks is the theme specific today indicators (part of ext themes VGA & QVGA) It simply displays the stock standard indicators that come with the Spb PocketPlus 3.0 installation. I have been utterly unsuccessful getting them to display the selected theme's indicators. Has anyone had this experience with TSK files?
Please let me know your thoughts.

I don't have any problem with Jasjar themes, even in ROM or 3rd parties. I rely that themes in ROM (I-mate_Swoosh.tsk and i-mate_Grass.tsk) are too big, >2.2MB/each and there are 2 other big gif files: stwater.gif and tdywater.gif 1.2MB each. Of course, you can not delete these files but you can overwrite them. So to save your storage, you can copy them to PC, using ThemeMakerPro and any photo editor to edit them (reduce resolution deepth to 8BPP, 256 colors) and then copy overwrite them into \windows directory on your device. I'm sure that you can save 4-5MB and the theme image quality does not change.
Another tip, you can change default background picture of your phone pad to your own picture by creating 2 bmp file (640x376 and 480x536, 256 colors), rename to Bkgnd_Land.bmp and Bkgnd_Port.bmp and then copy overwrite to \windows.
Enjoy!

Phone Dialer Backgrounds & Carrier logo

Hey Guys,
Dunno about you, but I've installed the T-mobile NL latest ROM - but - and a big BUT -
Who designed that dialer skin!?
Attached are 2 nice backgrounds I made (landscape and portrait), and a Carrierlogo for Orange Israel which looks really great.
Replace all 3 files in the windows directory.
Note: If you get problems with write access, try with "Total Commander" it seemed to work perfectly!
Btw, for nice buttons, elsewhere on these forums is ablackqsilver skin for the universal.. didn't have energy to design the buttons...
From what I understand, the nice dialler skins won't work on our Universals, so I guess we'll make our own
If anyone else has some nice ones - Share!
Ariel 8)
Very nice.
hey do you have anything for atom like this carrier logo and splash screens.
Thanks
I'll be buggered if I can overwrite or delete the carrier gif file, I want to overwrite the 2 DLL's that contain the pink video buttn as well.....
Ayone go any ideas? tried in flight mode and with resco and total commander.
Cheers
To change the button graphics
To change the buttons I first installedthe black/silver universal phone skin. It redirects the registry phone buttons to its graphics, and they are replaceable.
Works great for me and got rid of the pink buttons...
Well people who designed the T-Mobile dialer skin are Either colorblind or complete Arses....
I understand that you guys were able to get rid of it? to get back the original HTC Blue and green buttons ??
Can you please tell us all how to do it ??
The only way I can see to get rid of it 'completely' without loosing the Video button is to replace the 2 DLL's that contain the video button resources.
Unfortunately they are in ROM so it would have to be a cook of a new ROM.
I was thinking about giving it a go, but to be honest, just cannot be rsed, I'll leave it be until either HTC make the dialer completely skinnable to the end user or a new HTC (iMate/QTek) rom that is newer than the T-Mobile one is released.
I also don't like the other mods that TM do (to the start menu etc), but I've got rid of those, and everything else about the latest NL Tmobile WWE ROM rules, def the best one I've used yet.
So I'll live with the garish pink dialer for now...... unfortunately
Thanx for the info.
I am myself on the DOPOD ROM and am very happy (I do not have a stereo headset so the A2DP is not important
Hello all. I never saw these posts before so I never knew how to change the dialer skins until I found the registry tweaks in the wiki area. I've attached a zip file of all the buttons on T-Mobile. I haven't really changed them. Just made the buttons rounder! ... Not much difference but it does look better. The only problem was that I couldn't change the Video button for some reason. I changed the background and the buttons by copying the files to the mda, either the extended ROM, the sd card (which could coz a problem if you remove it) or the mda's internal memory and then in the registry just change the location of the files. All the buttons are named the same as the original. This way you won't really have any problems and you can revert to the originals by just renaming the registry settings back to the "\Windows\" directory. The registry keys are in: "HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin" ... the "Dialer" directory holds all the buttons and background for when the dialer buttons are on the screen. The "Progress" directory holds the buttons and background for when you're in a call and the dial buttons are not visible. The keys that you have to edit are the bmp... entries. The default string is "\Windows\...bmp" just change them to wherever they are, like "\Storage Card\DialerSkin\...bmp", etc.
The only think I couldn't change was the Video buttons and the Operator logo. If the background you put up is not white or a lighter colour the logo looks retarded. I tried looking for the file "erlogo" but i didn't find it. However I did find a file called "Carrierlogo" in the Windows directory. I'm thinking of backing it up and then blanking it out. Don't really care about the logo. Anyways, I've added a zip file of the buttons I edited. I've also put up screenshots. You can change the buttons to whatever you want if you can design one. I tried looking for one but seems like no one is really making them for the MDA Pro's as the MDA Vario's and the like are more common. Anyways, hope I can get some help with the Video buttons and maybe some nice backgrounds for the dialer?!

Well if you want to get the default blue Windows Mobile dialer then just go to the Registry to: "HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin" and the entry for Enabled change it to "0" to disable the operator dialer or then "1" to enable it. If you disable it and reboot the MDA you'll see the original blue dialskin but you miss out on the video button. so no video calls can be made also the Smart Dial feature will not work if the blue dialer is used. I don't know why so don't ask! ... Hope this helps?!
havoc99!
Thanx I am aware of that HACK, but then you as you quite correctly mention loose the video call and the smart dialer.
But !!!!!!!!!!!!
What you are writing about making the busttons might be great just design my own set and done. Question is if I keep it on the SD card it mst probably be even slower then now (I mean the device)
Well If i cook my own set of buttons I shall let you all know
Hey Havoc....
I am happy with the default skin on the QTEK 9000 for example so all i have to do is copy all the files you have in that zip archive. from my Windows directory... and then I have a ready skin so I can actually go and use the t-mobile ROM...
I mean now since we know the file names, I hope your archive is complete havoc

About the buttons I meant you could take the originals and colour them different, instead of have the buttons curved like I posted previously you could have them a different shape, etc. I currently have my modified buttons and pics on the ExtendedROM which pretty much is a part of the inbuilt memory and so far it's working fine. I haven't noticed any slowness or sluggish behaviour. I'll try make some different buttons and post them up. ... Should be fun but time consuming. ... If you've seen the skins for the MDA Vario using the ETen Dialer, those are really sexy but that means one has to sit and make them for the MDA Pro. I'll try it out and post what I can get.

Well the buttons I modified were for the T-Mobile skin so I don't know what happens with the QTek as I've never seen the skin so try at your own expense. Mine is working great. Just changed the links to the locations. I noticed when I flashed the i-mate rom, the dialer was completely different. If you're going to flash your PDA with the T-Mobile ROM then you should try it out. Though I have never replaced the original files coz then if anything goes wrong I have to reflash so be careful. My archive is only missing the background pics which are named as "Bkgnd_land" and "Bkgnd_port" in the same Windows directory. I've posted the backgrounds as well but you can put anything you want as long as it's the right resolution. The one I use is always 640x480. However, I strongly advise you to copy these files in another folder on the PDA and not replace the originals. I placed mine in a folder in the ExtendedROM. I originally figured out this hack from the wiki page:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Universal_Registry
Check it out. There's allot of nice hacks there.[/url]
Hi guys, I was messing around with the dialer buttons and if you take the bmp's that are in the zip file (or if you copy the ones that are in the Windows directories) and open them in paint (or the like) and colour the buttons "NmBtnUp_..." fully black and then in the registry only edit the "bmpNormal" under "dialbutton" to the black ones then after the reboot, your dialer buttons are invisible. Only thing you see are the numbers and alphabets. Pretty kool! ... I only did it for the "dialbutton" folders not the rest as in the erase, talk/end, or the verbbutton. Quite an interesting effect for the dialer depending on your background or your choice. Just thought I'd share. I also changed the really nice green backgrounds by "summoner" into dark grey (I hope you don't mind) and I've posted screenshots of them up. K! Thought I'd share my interesting discovery.

I managed to overwrite the carrierlogo.gif file from the explorer built in with "Pocket Controller - Professional" that I bought. It's a nice program. Little sluggish sometimes but i can use the MDA from the pc without touching it. By the way, what are you going to overwrite the 2 dll's with? Have you found a way to modify the video button?
HAvoc!
Take a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=52399&highlight=
There are some default phone dialer skins from the providers.
Havoc!
the link I have given you you can download the skins in cab format...
Well if you exctract the cab and change the extentions to .bmp you get the buttons.... The nicest one I think is the O2 one

Welcome to the "EnergyROM" thread !
This development thread is for my "Energy" custom firmware series for the HTC Diamond device.
The current build numbers and date can be seen in the title of this thread. I usually update the ROMs about twice a week, as new builds come down the pipe or as new software/updates are available.
I build my ROMs with four main goals.
Eye candy ( I want my ROM to look great and for it to all flow together nicely)
Speed !!!
Smoothness, consistency and good aesthetics
Stability through private beta testing before public release
I pre-configure a lot of things in my ROM, because when I flash it on my phone, I want it ready to go. So, expect the backlight to be set at the maximum brightness, the ringtone, sms/email and other notifications to already be set. Doing it this way, makes for a nice ROM that's ready out of the box.
I recommend learning to backup your settings with either Sashimi or UC (User Customization). Backing up with SPB Backup or similar products, is NOT recommended, as they tend to backup the previous release's registry/file bugs as well!
Looking at the download folder you will find two core versions of my ROM.
The 21916 Build which is the most reliable, fast and bug free release. It has the Start menu button at the top left corner just like a stock ROM. I recommend you start with this first!
The 29022 Build that's the latest in the 6.5.3 series with the Start menu button at the bottom left corner and big softkeys. These builds reflect the latest cutting edge technology from Microsoft. These are also much more finger friendly throughout.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can stay up to date on the status of my ROM development by "following" me on Twitter.
It's definitely the fastest way to get in touch with me and please don't be afraid to tweet me if you see major issues with the ROMs.
I generally do not answer "support" questions on Twitter, as it's really not the proper medium for that. Service packs and quick fixes will always be released as links in my tweets and that's definitely the fastest way to get a fix for a ROM.

This post features all the Cookie Hometab based ROMs I make.
The original ROM is the "energy" version and that's a good starting point. All the rest, are themes applied to that ROM.
They all come with Cookie 2.0 (the ROM filename will be labeled "Cookie.2.0, plus the name of the theme)
You can see more screenshots of these ROMs a couple of posts down.
The two Cookie versions look pretty similar, but Cookie 2.0 has multiple sliding homescreens/freely moveable widgets (similar to Android) and
quite a few more features and speed.
My own 'Energy' style
This is the best ROM version and the way Sense should have been designed by HTC
Offers the biggest customization ability out of all versions. You can add/remove bars or items on the homescreen, arrange items any way you like, plus lots of extra features
Three built in lockscreens. "HD Mini" style, Manila style or Windows style
3 pages of quicklinks with a configurable amount of shortcuts displayed
3 Homescreen layouts to choose from, as seen in the above screenshots, all completely customizable !

Dinik's "Anastasia"
This ROM series is skinned with Dinik's great "Anastasia" theme applied on everything.
Everything has been skinned, including Sense, the start menu items, the soft keyboard, parts of the dialer... etc
_LeCiel_'s ".sencity"
This ROM is themed with the .sencity theme released by _LeCiel_ who is a very talented artist ! Please support his work if possible.
.sencity is not %100 complete yet, but _LeCiel_ is working hard on finishing his work to completely skin the entire ROM.
Link to the original thread for this mod is here > Click <
DJC & Bobsbbq's "Touch Of Glass"
This ROM series is skinned with DJC's "Touch of Glass" theme throughout Sense and the Start Menu
More will be skinned as DJC continues his work on the theme in the future...
Link to the original thread for this mod is here > Click <
ElCondor's "GTX"
This ROM has the white GTX theme applied
Android styled taskbar, matching dialer, matching start menu background and Action screen background
GTX is a total reskin of the operating system, so expect a very different (white) experience
Link to the original thread for this mod is here > Click <
ROMs mostly created for enthusiasts...
'Energy'
This series retains the stock functionality of the Sense UI. The files have been compressed by "CFC" compression. making the UI lighter and faster
This ROM still retains my theme and style, plus all the regular apps you find in my ROMs.
There are no homescreen addon-ons in this ROM. The best speed and the most stock functionality.
MaxSense UI (android style homescreen)
This is a complete rewrite of the Sense homescreen, by maxycy.
It features a 3 screen, Android style, homescreen with widgets! The widgets can be placed ANYWHERE on the three screens.
75 Quicklink accessible on all tabs
You should really visit the original thread for this mod shown on the next line to see all the features!
Link to the original thread for this mod is here > Click <.
Titanium (ROMs for raw speed!)
This is a minimal ROM version without Sense in it. It's used primarily for people that like to customize the default 6.5 homescreen (Titanium)
You can use it to install alternate homescreen interfaces like SPB Mobile Shell, etc
Very low memory footprint and good battery life, but very simple and lacks a lot of features that you would otherwise have available in Sense...

ROM features at a glance:
Very fast startup time. You won't find any startup wizards in this ROM. You'll be up and running in a couple minutes after flashing the ROM and ready to go. No need to spend time to set everything up.
XDA_UC is built in. It will import your custom XML and REG files from your storage card after first boot.
My own Settings Exporter application is found in the Tools folder. Use it to export all your settings after you customize the device. When a new ROM comes down the line, use it to import everything and save time.
Everything is setup to use the phone right after flashing. Sounds, notifications, all options, etc
The HTC Messaging client is removed, leaving the windows built SMS client for much faster texting, but still able to use a nicely skinned Sense text messaging app with "iphone style" messaging bubbles.

User maintained FAQ post
How to install a ROM on diamond ?
• WARNING : flashing can brick your phone and you'll loose your device guarantee !!!
If these consequences are too important for you then don't flash your rom !!!
FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK !!!
• Check your diamond version = GSM or CDMA ?
This thread is dedicated to GSM diamond !!! Never install GSM rom onto CDMA device and vice versa!!!
• Read Tutorial made by tnyynt HERE
What is mtty ?
• mtty is a PC app which is useful to prepare your device for flash (but not only)
• read MysticGenius thread HERE
What's the difference between soft reset & hard reset ?
• soft reset = safe operation, just reboot your device (switch device off-on by using power button or specific app as XDAshutdown/Slide2Shutdown by example)
• hard reset = CAUTION! This will erase all the data and your device will be reset to factory settings : make a backup of your important data before !!!
• How to Hard Reset your Diamond with hard keys :
1. Press and Hold the VOL. DOWN + ENTER (central key) buttons, then press RESET at the back with the stylus tip till message appears.
here you have 2 options :
2a. To HARD RESET (format internal memory only) = Press the VOL. UP, or press any other button to cancel.
2b. To HARD RESET + format internal storage = Press the VOL. DOWN, or press any other button to cancel.
• How to Hard Reset your Diamond with wipe device app :
1. go to start>settings>system>wipe device
2. in old version you'll have to select the option of your choice : erase internal memory only or erase internal storage only or erase both.
In last version you can only erase internal memory (you can't erase internal storage)
3. type "1234' sequence and click yes
What's the difference between internal memory & internal storage ?
• internal memory = main memory of your device (dynamic memory shared between storage, program and PP), this kind of memory is faster than NAND but space is very limited on Diamond
• internal storage = 4Gb NAND for storage only (low speed but large space), also called SD card on other devices but this one is non removable
I flashed my rom but my diamond is stuck at boot &/or soft reset itself continuously ?!
• Either you flashed a rom not designed for your device or you flash with wrong HardSPL
• go to serial USB mode then try mtty method
What is Serial USB mode ?
• Also called Bootloader mode, this mode allow you to connect your device to your computer in order to use mtty or to flash.
• Hold vol.down key (don't release it till you see rainbow screen!!!) then with your stylus press reset button. When you see rainbow screen with "serial USB" message then release vol.down key & plug your phone to your computer.
What RADIO should I use ?
• There is no better Radio than another cause It depends on your device usage (phone/GPS) & location : battery drain and Joule effect (heat loosened by battery/processor...) will be different.
• The best is to make your own opinion by testing by yourself : check sblop thread HERE
• Good Diamond radios : 1.08.25.08, 1.09.25.23, 1.11.25.1, 1.13.25.24, 1.15.25.14, 1.17.25.09
Battery drains too fast, what can I do ?
• With normal usage (a few calls/texts, check mails) battery should last a day or two
• deactivate 3G & set GSM instead
• Backlight (the more you increase luminosity the more you decrease battery life) is set to max by default so set it to autoBacklight instead
• activate power management with DiamondTweak
• avoid battery eater like WiFi/BlueTooth/GPS/Games/Video
• check apps running into background : disable push internet & other functions that require data connection like weather...
• try a different RADIO (it depends on your usage/carrier/location)
• recalibrate the battery
• if nothing helps you then consider buying a 1350mAh power battery (900mAh by default)
How to recalibrate the battery ?
1. Discharge the battery completely
2. Remove the battery & let it rest 1H at least
3. Re-install the battery & charge your diamond (but keep power off) till the led stop blinking
4. Remove the battery & let it rest 1H at least
5. Re-install the battery & turn power on
My memory usage is very high !?
• use Tachi Disabler to remove HTC dialer & use WM dialer instead : you'll free ~5Mo
• Pay attention to the skins you install afterward : some are not compressed and can eat a lot of memory
• use htcAddicts CleanRAM to clean & free memory
• reduce PagePool to 8Mo
• enable compact start menu into settings menu to free ram ~20Mb
What is PagePool (PP) ?
• PP is a cache partition which allow the device to speed up when a function has been already called into mem : the other side of the coin is that PP is taken directly from RAM. So you'll have to find the optimum balance between speed/ram
• 8 - 12 Mo is a good range for diamond
• Read shaks1979 thread HERE for more info
I don't see Opera and GoogleMaps ?!
• only InternetExplorer is available because Opera & GoogleMaps can be installed on internal storage (you can choose destination drive only when you install cab by yourself) to save internal memory
How to install a cab ?
• copy the cab to your device either by activeSync or by DiskDrive mode. Use your file explorer to click on cab then installation will start.
• XDA_UC is a smart way too
What is XDA_UC ?
• Read THIS
I can't sync my phone !?
• Did you install Microsoft ActiveSync/WM device center ?
• It also might be due to your firewall/anti-virus (allow activsync into firewall setup).
• You can either uncheck enable faster data synchronization under ActiveSync option into start>settings>connection>USBtoPC
• if you've just flashed your device or made Hard reset then you'll have to create a new partnership with your computer
I don't see 3G anymore into taskbar !?
• Run connection setup wizard (settings>connections) to configure your network connections
• different bands available :
GSM = GPRS/EDGE = 2G/2,5G = G/E
WCDMA = 3G/3G+
HSDPA/HSUPA = 3G+ = H
• when you force radio to WCDMA you should have 3G/H logo into taskbar but it drains battery a lot and be careful of your gonades
• set GSM when you don't use data
• switch to auto when you wanna use data
• It also depends on your operator network in a particular place (city/metro/mountain...)
How to tweak Sense2.5 ?
• Co0kie Home Tab : Read Co0kieMonster's thread (Sense2.5 only!!!)
I can't unzip the archive : archive corrupted !?
• you need the last 7zip because of new LZMA2 compression
XDA_UC FAQ

The XDA_UC cooked in my ROMs is modified from the stock XDA_UC made by Noonski. Great addon, by the way... Noonski did a great job with this !
The version in my ROMs is trimmed down to fit the needs of my ROM series.
Some of the extra features are:
It will copy shortcuts (.lnk files) found in \XDA_UC\Start Menu\ to the device's start menu folder (\windows\Start Menu) in the hierarchy that it finds on the storage card. For example: Let's say you have a navigation package on the storage card, like Navigon. If you make a shortcut to the navigon.exe file as Navigon.lnk and copy it to \XDA_UC\Start Menu\GPS\ as "Navigon.lnk" then on a fresh ROM install it will copy any shortcuts it finds there to the same location on the device, so it'll end up in \Windows\Start Menu\GPS\. This works for other folders on the Start Menu as well. Just put the shortcuts in \xda_uc\Start Menu\ in the folders you will like the shortcuts to appear to, on the device.
It will copy a custom splash screen from \Storage Card\XDA_UC\welcomehead.192.png to \windows automatically and overwrite the one in the ROM.
It will copy a custom Sense background found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\sense\wallpaper_sense.png to the device and set that wallpaper as default in Sense. So rename your wallpaper as "wallpaper_sense.png" and drop it in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\sense\ and on the next ROM flash that wallpaper will become your wallpaper in Sense.
Other than that XDA_UC works as designed by Noonski and it will do the following things:
It will automatically import your PPCbackup (*.pib) file found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will install custom XDAS scripts found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will silently install CAB files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will install special CAB files that require user input (such as Agreements or any type of prompt) found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\SD
It will silently import REG files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will silently install REG files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\Exporter, as exported by my own Settings Exporter, ONLY if the "automatic" file is also present in that folder (and it most cases it should be, enable that option in the Settings Export application's menu)
It will silently import XML files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will silently import CER files (usually Exchange certificates) found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will silently run custom MSCR files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
That's it, but don't forget to checkout the Addons folder and look in the XDA_UC section for tips and tutorials on how to export your email/wifi settings and various little .reg and tweaks you can add to your XDA_UC collection.
As always don't forget to check what installs automatically before reporting a problem with the ROM. Most of the time, if you notice you have a problem that nobody else is experience is because one of the cabs you dropped in the XDA_UC folder is installing automatically while you don't even think about it.
Downloading....
Report back ASAP...

If this is the followup pls mention -discontinued thread or something - on that other thread , looks a bit odd two postings in a row on nearly similar developments.
Must say that the rom looks very attractive and promising, will give it a try soon.

[HELP] Manila 2.1 file name to finish a theme

Hi, I'm looking for two days now ( XDA search, Wiki, Google, WM sites, HD sites ...) for the name of some manila graphic files, need them to polish my theme thanks for your help:
_ First the ones that do the background under icon preview when you press slider icons.
_ Second the ones that appear and disappear when you press a thumbnail picture on the people tab.
Thanks to all contributors evevrywhere on XDA.
PS: it's a manila 2.1 cfc compress from Chainfire
1) The icon preview background is "37172f76_manila" (manila path: "\windows\htc\assets\images\common\vga\black.qtc") - it's a small 2x2 pixel image thats stretched to fill the screen.
2) The selection blade has two parts: first "4e6195ba_manila" (\windows\htc\assets\images\people\vga\blade_body.qtc) - 4x128 stretched horisontaly.
Second: "5dfeddf7_manila" (\windows\htc\assets\images\people\vga\blade_endcap.qtc) -4x128 it's the small curve at the end.
Thanks a lot for the quick help, tonight will finish my theme and perhaps release it ( but i'm shy ...). Where do you find info about manila files, the wiki is imcomplete and like i've said upper i haven't find any web ressource to help me.
Really great forum.
You can use 6Fg8's m9editor to take a look into the mode9 files of manila.
The mode9 files describe how the page should look. E.g. to find the the needed qtc files for the people page I opened people.mode9 (6C422AB4_manila) in m9editor.
Co0kieMonster, can you help me one more time, when i put my png into cfcgui the qtc transformation change some colors into artefact/glitches. I've tryed different dpi and also to compress it with manila editor 0.2 but same result. It never happens before for all my pngs, the same error appears with the two peoples blade files. I put in attachement the png before (the one i want to put) and the one saved from the qtc i obtain.
PS: i've tried to change headers in manila editor but no luck.
I seem to remember reading that the qtc format has problems like that sometimes, but I haven't done much with qtc files so I don't know how it can be fixed. Try asking in the cfcgui thread, someone there will probably know.

Changing AT&T background in TF3D

Is there any way to change the background in TF3D from AT&Ts logo to anything else? I can change the home page, and the lock screen without TF3D enabled, but as soon as I enable it again and go to any tab in TF3D the AT&T logo is there. What can I do about this, without changing ROMs?
Search for TF3D or manila 3D themes, download the one you like and install it on your T2

The following files in \Windows are the TF3D background images (Top/Buttom Portrait & Left/Right landscape).
Code:
29cff4fe_manila
058acf31_manila
77feee1d_manila
70083a29_manila
These are 3D Polygon Textures. You need a program such as CFC GUI to edit those images. Under the "TF3dv2" menu select "Create background". Choice either Portrait or Landscape WVGA from the drop down & click "Load". Choose the image you want (Must be a PNG, It helps to create the Image you want & crop it to the correct size ahead of time, WVGA Portrait = 480 Wide x 696 Tall in Pixels/Landscape = 804 Wide x 377 Tall). Uncheck the "CFC" Check Box & Click Save. It'll save the files in the folder you choose during the initial setup. It'll create 2 _manila files for each Portrait or Landscape. Copy these to your SD Card & then use Total Commander or Rosco Explorer to copy them into \Windows overwriting the originals. Restart TF3D to see the change.
EDIT: There's a scrollbar on the right side of the BG creation window. Use this to adjust brightness. You'll notice the images are a lot brighter then the BG's I made. I darkened it so the text would show better. In my first attempt, the BG was too bright & the white text became hard to read in certain places.
Search for HDWall, it works good and does what you want I think. I also had to run one of the Manila cabs (HQWallpaper patch or something) that was included in one of the folders with HDWall.
Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions.

.NetCF C# App has no Icon

Hey Guys,
I post a lot in the CDMA Hero forums, but I am having a little problem with a Windows Mobile App at work.
I have an .ICO file for the project, it has 12 Icons in the one file of all different sizes. When the solution is built and deployed to 1 model of device the Icon does not show in the program list. The icon shows fine on 6 other models of devices, but not on this one. Also I noticed that through file explorer, the EXE has the correct icon.
The device is a Symbol PPT8800 OS: PPC 2003.
Can you guys think of anything that would cause this Icon not to show up on this device? Are their limitations to PPC 2003 and resolutions of icons?
I don't know about WM2003, but in recent versions of WM the shell automatically extracts the correct size icon to display depending on device resolution/dpi. Is the device QVGA? What sizes of icons are in the file?

So device's screen specs from the manufacturer are:
■Transflective color TFT-LCD, 65K colors,
240 (W) x 320 (L) (QVGA size)
6 of the images in the ICO are 8 bit
other 6 are 32 bit.
Would this need to have a 16 bit(~65k) variant as well?
Bump
Any other ideas on this? We are beating our heads against the wall.
I have tried every combination of sizes and colors and transparency. We are at a complete loss for this particular device.
How about extracting the icon from an executable that displays correctly on that device (use reshacker or whatever) and comparing it's attributes to your icon?
Can we have the ico file so we can have a look at it?
Did you ever get it sorted out?
Sorry guys, I just actually got this fixed today.
I took the transparency off of all the icons in the file and added a set of 16 bit.
This still didn't fix it until I actually OEM Reset the device, then reinstalled and it worked. I am not sure if adding the extra icon's actually did anything still or if it was the hard reset wiping some sort of cache or store.
I still really don't know how these things work as far as that goes.
I'll stick with my Android
Thanks for the advice though!
Well at least it's working now
