somebody please help ... just flashed my xda exec with the latest rom and now it won't start... When trying to hard reset it and just after pressing "0" in the white screen it won't boot... I plug in the mains charger and the orange light won't show either (so I can't know if it's charging). I'm not quite sure but I suspect that the main battery's red plastic lock-switch was in the "unlock" position during the flashing (but the battery was 100% full just before). Is that relevant ? Could this have drained the backup battery and that's the reason that it won't boot now ?? please help...

hello there..i've also got the same problem....i've download he rom update software from 02 uk...after install in my exec...and hard reset..it hang in the boot screenn...

i've also got the same problem...i've update the rom after dwnloas the rom software update from o2 uk....after suceesfull install to my exec...i've hard reset as per instruction.....but..it just hang in the boot screen mode...

... what's the "bootloader mode" ??... (it's not documented in the user guide, is that a sequence after pressing 2-3 buttons together or something like that ?)
Put the Universal in bootloader mode by pressing Power + Light + Reset, which brings up an un-backlit screen with "Serial" at the top, and "v0.XX" at the bottom. (A lot of people get an error message if they are not in bootloader mode. They can install the ROM a second time. If you are in bootloader mode, you won't get an error message.)

dear kumar..i've tried for a few times...eventually i've tried to reinstall using the old rom..but its still hang....
i've contact o2 custpmer support ..they asked me to send it to the service centre...then i ask how to send and the charge would be (eventully i'm in malaysia right now) but they ask me to call the service and warranty centre personnally..
i've called them but the line was so bad and can't hear them clearly. Even so i've given my email address for them to email me their correct address for me to sent it..and their email address for me to communicate..but until now..no news....
please help me sir!!!

What ROM did you guys flash? My suspicion is rising that one of the new AKU3.2 ROMS is the culprate, and that there is something wrong with one of them.

hi.. i had installed WM6 on my o2 exec, i dont know why but had some signal issues with it, so i tried to roll back to 1.30 from the official O2 site... 1st time i tried to update, the PDA got reset just at the begining of the checking process... i tried again 2nd time this timed it just died.. now hard reset as well as the bootloader both just get stuck at the same damn screen "Seria" on top and "1.00" at the bottom.. i've kept the piece on charging for several hours now... no matter what i do, nothing happens.. just the same screne for hrs and hrs and hrs.. i removed the battrey and put it back... stil the same screen... someone pls advice... its just breaking my heart..
trouble with rom update
Like Acer, my device has a trouble with the rom too. In this case, I'm trying in bootloader mode but the rom doesn't instal. The first screen shows only the rom which is going to upgrade and when instalation finishes nothing was upgraded. Can you help me?

I do not know how, but now my Uni work again
and now, I install Pdaviet 2.10.10
It's working now .....
I had the same problem, i had to send it to the O2 repair canter, they fixed it, but was returned with out the up grade, now im afraid to re-try.

Got the same problem here after using PDAVIET...
No upgrade working
This happens with the uni sometimes regardless of rom. Remove the battery wait 5 minutes enter bootloader and reflash. If it doesnt work reflash again just the CE os rom. It will kick out in one of those. It usually helps to flash to operator stock rom first then back to wm6 or cooked WM5. (You have not hurt the device, the uni is a picky girl but always comes back

Hi bro, hold on the voice-dail button (record button), & hold the power button at the sametime. then wait several seconds, you'll get the multi-color screen.
now it's time to plugin the usb for upgrading or recovering.
I met the problem that it always failed when the progress was 3%. i downloaded several roms from internet. how could i know which rom is correct for my device(p800 in China). Besides, my device could just enter the boot mode, so it's impossible to unlock spl for it.
and The worst thing is that there are several hours(not minutes) between each time to power on it. It means i should wait 1 or 2 or 3 hours (who the hell know) to re-flash it after i was failed to flash previously.
is anybody had the same experience. that's really make me crazy.

you've removed the microSD, right?
If yes, did you try with the original ROM for the P3300?
p800=p3300, but i'm not 100% sure...

I have the same problem with my P3300.
The problem is that the phone do not start and I cant put in the cooked rom because I did not make the Uspl when it was still alive.
Is it possible to USPL the rom also if is not connected whit activesync?

I had the original ROM, but now the phone is broken, if I try to switch it on the system go in crash in few seconds.
i tried to put in in bootloader mode (colored screen), but i can not load in ROM because the process crash when is at 3%, can I USPL the ROM from the sd card or when is off?

At the moment it's load perfectly, so after the program has finished the atualization, my phone make a soft reset(normal), So when wake up, and show's me a boot screen with (TOUCHdiamond) name on the screen, he freeze!!
I can't do nothing! It's stuck!? omg! people help me to resolve this!? I try up a new rom but isn't work cause the phone don't connect with windows to change or execute other program, cause the phone are stuck on boot screen!

Here's what you need to do:
Hold down the "Volume Down" button and press reset with the stylus. You will enter the Boot Loader. Now plug in your USB cable connecting it to you PC. On the bottom part of the screen (phone) you'll see USB. Now your PC recognizes the phone.
Start a ROM update through the RUU executable and flash your phone with a different ROM.

i have the same problem where my phone freezes at the boot screen, where it says touch diamond and thw orange writing in the corner. It was working fine, happened all of a sudden after i soft reset it, when the phone initally froze on an incoming call

I think not. Don't know if you have a lot of apps installed after flashing. What you could do is find a ROM that's UC2/sUC compliant. If you create a folder structure on your internal storage like this:
ROOT > Backup and Restore > CAB > CABi
Put all the cabs you want on your device in the CAB folder and all the cabs you want on internal storage in CABi folder. After flashin and initial customization you will find yourself in User Customization (UC). It will state that it found a CAB folder, choose to install. After this it will state that it found a CABi folder, install as well. This reduces the effort of installing all apps after a hard-reset. As for messages, contacts e.g. I suggest you use PPCPimBackup.

Try flashing through bootloader. Press reset with stylus while holding volume down. After you're in the bootloader plugin USB cable and start flashing.

tried and didnt work. made it worst in fact :S
startet update trough bootloader, started, updated to 13% and then I was told the update didnt work with my device (or something similar, in norwegian). tried an older update, same problem... :/
when I now boot the phone I'm directly in bootloader, and with the funny message

Before you try to flash anything other then a stock ROM, I suggest you take a look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416211
You need to have Hard-SPL flashed before flashing any custom ROM. My advice would be to use this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=93362&d=1213719705

On My New Diamond having 1.37 Asian HTC ROM i Flashed 1.93 Asian HTC ROM. It flashed successfully then after installing some programs i have done the soft reset after that It hangs on Operator (Airtel) Logo and my phone doesn't start. I have not installed
any Hard SPL.
I have done Vol.Down + Softreset button but nothing appears on screen.

Did you hold the volume down button while pressing reset? After pressing reset you should keep holding the volume down button until the tri-color bootscreen appears.

I have some trouble to flashing this rom i sayed..
When i go to the 3 colours screen, appear (1.40Olinex)
I guess this is 1.93 or not??
Anyway, the athena rom flashing succesfull but when restart, the cellphone automatic, (after finish flashing program) .... Appear the first image, where loading that three letters ( RGB with a code) ...
So when appear this letters the phone shutdown, and start's again...
Somebody can help me to fix that?

(For flashing new room i made this way: Make a soft reset (press reset button + vol down) to appear the 3 colors screen. So I turned on my DiamongUpdate, and confirm the first windows, make a update, so when I click on next button, appear the progress bar, 0% I wait like a 20 seconds, and the progress go fast to 100%, 0 to 100% in 1 sec. So after appears succesfully and finish the flashing, so my phone reset, I take off the usb cable and appear the first load image on my phone appear the tre letters ( R G B ) .. and make a reset again.! ...
How I can get out this problem!!!?!?! help people!!! help me!!

Just to ask: You're not (accidentally) holding down the volume key when you press the power key (or reset) to turn on, are you? That puts it into bootloader.

No, I'm not doing that
I thought maybe it got stuck though, something like that :s but when I do press it, I hear a pretty clear "click", so I guess it's not broken at all...
Also, I noticed that when I try to reflash a ROM, the "current image" (or whatever it's called) is blank ...
(I mean the thing that sais the version number of the currently installed rom)

It is used to wipe the OS out completely BUT you then have to re-install a new OS...

Hummm i have see somwhere a howto for mtty on W7... but i'm a little lazy i have choose to do this on a old windows xp

I have let it without battery for a day and, today it has directly boot on the OS.

I have find a post on a other forum whos said that a defective battery could result to an unstable beaviour of the phone.
I have let it without battery for a day and, today it has directly boot on the OS.
I have ordered a battery on ebay and waiting for it maybe the solution ?

Oke, I will try to take out the battery tomorrow as well ... Although, I tried using a different battery and it didn't help ...
Right now, I managed to boot using mtty set 14 0 > task 8, which seems to work
(sometimes, I need to do the task 8 twice in a row ...)
So as of now, I managed to flash a stock rom onto the phone, and only have to try and reset hardspl back to stock as well.
Waranty here I come ...
lol mine is out of waranty, and it's the solution i ve find everywhere !
did you try hard reset by holding the call and hang up button together when you power up the phone.
last time I remove a program and tha cause me to boot ot a black screen after teh bootloader. Hard reset fix the issue as it return teh phone to the sotck setting of the rom.

yes, i've try it (HTC has send me the same advise) and... same issue !
In order to done the hard reset (who didn't execute when the phone is to boot in bootloader) i have do a set 14 0 and reset with power and holding the two call hang and power.
But thanks for the advise !

Hum it's the phone of a firend who give it to me... and he has buy it on e-bay.... for the waranty sound difficult to retreive a bill and... I will search till i find something to do

Okay. So what exactly did you do or what exactly happened to your phone?
man did ya try to charge it? maybe the bettray is dead and can ya load the boot screen u know just press the down volume button and reset see if u can see the three colors screen if its then dont worry ... worst thing is just re-flash the rom PM me for extra help buddy
I have the same problem with my phone after i tried to update rom.
I flashed hardspl 1.40.OliNex and then Diamond_Radio_1.00.25.07 ...everything ok until i tried ruu_diamond_orange_ro_1.37.70.1_radio_signed_diamond_52.33a.25.17_1.00.25.08_ship.
Now it only shows an image with orange and
r: 1.12.25.19
g: 52.60.25.33U
d:1.93.00.00
and nothing else since yesterday... I can get it to bootloader tricolor screen but that's all cause no matter what i try to flash it stops randomly at X% and get error update. The only difference was Radio_1.12.25.19 that seemed to work. Hard reset doesn't work either cause i get the same start image with orange and that's all.

and pls tell me where you bought ur diamond from and if you know the stock rom which shud be in ur device.
even if u dont know the answer to 2nd question tell me where you bought ur phone and ur country

I live in Roumania and bought the phone from someone and i don't know where did he get it from... but when i tried the official htc suport they said that my phone was made for Czech Republic and that's why my ROM update doesn't work...
The answer to second question is that i don't know

btw did you have any carrier logo before you ran into this problem...i mean like instead of the orange logo did you have any vodafone logo or just the htc logo during start up
AND do you have a front facing camera for video calls?
I had only the htc logo at start-up and i do have a video camera front facing.
Okay i found your stock ROM.
Do exactly as i say....
go to this link and scroll down to bottom...

when you go to the bottom of the page, you will be requested to enter ur SERIAL NUMBER which you just found under your battery.
Enter and press submit.
now select the file Windows_Mobile_6.1_East_Europe and start downloading...
let me know if the download has started also
I started the download ...
Okay good. So once the download complete you are ready to flash...
This is how to flash...
1. Put ur device in bootloader mode again.
2. Connect the device to ur PC
3. RUN the downloaded file....and press NEXT NEXT NEXT....
Reply back if the flashing process is goind smooth or even if you face any problem...
Then i can finally go and sleep
