lost text message capability - About xda-developers.com

I am new to this so I may have posted to the wrong section. I have a softbank htc x01ht with english version of windows mobile. I had added Yahoo email capabilities but now I do not have text messaging capabilities. How do I tweak the registry keys to get text messaging back as an option on my messaging screen? Appreciate any help you can be.

Looking to understand i18n

I'm looking to understand something about internationalisation and fonts on Windows Mobile 6 (mine is a HTC Touch Cruise). The practical problem is that my user interface is European but when I receive e-mails and text messages in Hebrew I only see squares. I don't need to write in Hebrew or to change the MUI.
I'm not looking for a commercial product - I'm a software developer myself (but not on Windows Mobile) and feel very comfortable modifying registry entries, swapping files and the like. What I'd like to understand is the mechanics of the problem.
I've read about changing the system font and have changed it to one that supports Hebrew with the following results: the popup notification when a message arrives is now in Hebrew characters (but backwords), but when I open the messages they're still only squares. Is there a system font that isn't covered in the above link? A system default codepage issue?
Many thanks for pointers, explanations and suggestions

Change SMS app pointer in T3FD

I installed SMS-Chat as a replacement SMS application for the default WM6.1 app on my Touch HD. I am looking for a way within the TouchFLO Interface to be able to lauch SMS-Chat instead of the default SMS application under the message tab, when I click to either read the a SMS message or write a new one. I installed SSMaPa - but that doesnt let me change the SMS application pointer.
Appreciate any help or pointers.
Thx.

Anyway to fix this dual texting crap?

Delete.
One's man burden is another man's blessing!
Most folks seem to hate the threaded SMS which you like, for reasons including that you get such a tiny little area to see what you've typed, plus you don't have the option of adding other recipients.
I'm not trying to get into a debate about it .. just hoping to point out that there is more than one solution to your problem of "dual texting crap": I haven't seen any tweaks to embrace the nice new interface, but here is one for killing it and sticking with the tried and tested 30 year old way ..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=373681
BTW .. a bonus is that once you have applied this, you can easily change your mind later and simply go and toggle the value between 0 and 1 without rebooting the device
Hope this helps
I have to agree with vin5cent0, I bl**dy hate the WM SMS reply interface. It's _so_ ugly. I don't care for threaded SMS's though.
Maybe you'd like Vito SMS-Chat, vin5cent0?
I prefer the TF3d threaded interface over the windows mobile interface as well. However it only appears accessable by replying to a message on the messaging tab in TF3d. Any new message or other way of replying to a message brings up the older WM interface. I would like be able to use the TF3d threaded interface for all the ways you can send a text.
This is the first i've seen someone wanting to actually embrace the TF3d message interface. It's woefully inferior to the WM one for the following reasons:
1.) Lack of character counter for sending message
2.) No support for signatures
3.) Phone numbers aren't clickable
4.) URL's aren't clickable
5.) Stupid Soft Key for Sent isn't the same as WM messaging program and is back (without confirmation) instead of send resulting in lost messages
6.) Reply to: screen / threaded view TERRIBLY SLOW when you have a lot of messages - we're talking 10 seconds pauses sometimes when pulling it up or replying (I imported all my SMS from my old phone so I have 9k text messages currently...)
I'll take functionally over "prettiness" any day. If they can fix these issues, I'd use it again I suppose. For now I'm using the "zoom sms" hack to disable the TF3d reply to interface and it goes to the WM instead.

Remapping Message double tap to take me to Windows Mobile's SMS and not Manila 2.1's

Hello all. First time poster, long time reader. I've got myself a Touch Pro 2 on VZW running the feb. 10th version of mighty rom. I have just one tiny problem with this rom, and also with the standard rom. When I double tap a text message from Manila, it opens said message in Manila's text messaging program. What I want to know is does anyone know of a way to tweak the registry or manila itself to allow for the double tap of a text message to bring me into windows mobile's text messaging sms program?
I apologize mods if this is in the wrong place, feel free to move it to the right one. I also searched for about a half an hour and could not find a resolution to my problem.
Thank you all in advance.
Brian

Classic WinMo threaded sms in Manilla ?

Ok, so I have the Rom in my sig, which has Sense 2.5, and I love it. Except for the threaded sms. So is there any way to make it so that when I click on a message in my messaging tab, it goes to the classic WinMo threaded text instead of the Manilla one? I just dont like the little box I have to type into, and the fact that I have to touch the box first before typing into it, because the cursor isnt already there. And the manilla one for some reason on this Rom is showing my texts out of order. But all is good with the classic threaded, the cursor is already there, no dumb box, and messages are in order. Thanks to anyone for good suggestions or a point in the right direction
The valkery roms have the classic windows mobile sms client. So you can try and use that rom. Also I know there is a cab that will change you're standard sms client from sense to windows mobile. But I believe the disadvantage is that you can't have threated sms.
The solution for the scrambled sms is: When you flash a rom, before restoring you're sms etc, set your sms settings to classic non threaded. Then restore you're sms. Soft reset and then put threated on. That should solve it
seriously, I would like this too! I'm carrying the stock rom from HTC NL. and have allready disable the HTC sms (slow / crappy / slow / did I say slow?). But would prefer the winmo threaded sms. There's got to be someone here with a solution?
