Earlier when I used to press the answer button on the bluetooth it used to bring up the Voice Dial, now when I press it brings up the Dial Pad. Anyone can tell me what would I have done to cause this and how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the link, unfortunately the Bluetooth hack file provided has no effect whatsoever on the present status of the phone. Guess these are Universal hacks and not Wizard.... the hunt for the solution is still on....

Thanks for your reply, actually what I am looking for is to activate the Voice Speed Dial via Bluetooth not Voice Command. It could do that before, but now when I click it brings up the phone dialer and not the Voice Speed Dialer. Any solution for that?

I know, the prob ist discussed already in other threads, but I will tell you my findings...
I used the
RUU_Prophet_2151327_21513121_021921_DOP_ASIA_WWE_Ship-NoVendorID
and it works great. But If I pushed the Voice Dialer at my BT-Headset just the phone pad starts and no speed dialer.
After I had to install the original O2 German ROM 2150429_21504115_02921
I found out, that suddenly the voice speed dialer works...
I've installed none of the cabs from the Ext_ROM!!!
Cause of my Backup with the Dopod ROM I had to go back to the Dopod and there without any cabs of the Ext_ROM no voice speed dial works with my BT-Hedset-
I then tried alot of patches offered here in this forum...but nothing works...
Have s.o. an idea to help???
I like the Dopod ROM cause its english and faster than the o2, but I need Speed Voice Dialer in my car and don't really need the vcommander...

I also have your problem with a TNT Rom into my K-JAM, everythings are ok, more speed, more functions but I can't use the Headset button to activate Voice Commander or Speed Voice, it's also a disadvantage when I use the headset into my car, I have to take the phone to press the Button !!!!!

also i would like speak to text to work for texts but dont no how to do it
For Skype, I use Fring or Nimbuzz
For Sky+ it looks like you'll have to pay, either £2.89 for Record It or £1.43 for Remote Recorder

i installed the kb but theres no mic
whats the easyist way to disable data connections, i know about the power button but thought there may be a widget to stop my phone downloading data when i done need it too

after you installed keyboard did you go into menu - settings - language & keyboard and enable HTC_IME?

There's a widget for that. If you go to add a widget, look for SETTINGS - in there you'll find one for mobile network.

my voice to txt works fine, are you connected to the internet as i believe you need to be for it too work, also did you install the voice search thing

When I turn bluetooth on & make it DISCOVERABLE, there is a timer which makes it DISCOVERABLE for only 120seconds... How can I make it DISCOVERABLE without timer 4 as long as I want to... (bcaz when I want 2 use my bluettooth headset I want this 2 stay DISCOVERABLE) or is there something I m missing...

You DON'T want your phone discoverable permanently. For what you said you want to do, use a headset, you don't need it to be. Once you're paired that's it.

I've tried searching but just get custom ROMS popping up.
Can someone recommend a good voice dialer that works over bluetooth also. If its still good but doesn't work on bluetooth please also say (but state in post).
I've tried Totalvoicecontrol and Choicedialer but they don't recognise me very well. Had Cyberon Voice Speed Dial on WM6.5 but nothing from them on Android
Would like one where I can program it to my voice control rather than it trying to recognise me.

I did found a thread in which it was written that it should work.. but I've failed..
1) I've readed that I should have hands-free config. I've installed it - trial version - 30 days. I did marked the Voice dialling
BTW - is there any way to do it without this program? I would need sth that is.. pernament
2) cyberon speed dial. I have..
3) I installed the path for speed dial.
and.. In buttons settings I have a button that sould launch voice speed dial (button5).
But when I press buttons on my bluetooth I can - with one button holded longer - dial last number, with the second holded longer - phon extension (for dialing a number) is launching.. no speed dial at all !!
P.S. I can not use MS VOICE!!! I am polish and i just can not communicate with that program! The best way would be to lauch cyberon program - I can teach it and it can uderstand everything I say..

knowing the key in registry - in OEM there is sth like voice dialing with the path in it value. all of that, after the hard reset did the job!!
So now it is all fine and cool

I can't make calls by Voice Dialing with this phone.
I tried the voice dialer available in froyo, but even though the settings are offering "french", it works only with english sentences, and it requires confirmation on the screen.
Is it me or something is going wrong with that android stuff ?

i think he means he cant call someone hands free, because voice dialer wont understand his french, and when he gets it to work in english it requires confirmation on the screen

To answer your question - it is a phone. You can dial and make a call on it.
The issue you have is voice dialing, which isn't a feature every phone has and so isn't something the category of 'phone' comes under. The issue you've got is down to Google, even English UK isn't recognised properly...they'll sort it eventually
Here in Canada like in many other countries, it is prohibited to drive car and use a cell phone without an hands-free device, all the phones I used in the last 6-7 years were having full hands-free support .....
But not all phones have voice dialing. You'd still need to 'dial' to get a call, even though you have a hands-free kit of bluetooth headset.
It's illegal in the UK to use a phone whilst driving but I still do (if I absolutely have to, which is rare)
My previous phone, an LG8700 was doing that very well, completly hands-free with my bluettoth headset, and it was not a "smart-phone" ;-)

bottom line, it does not make sense to me that a supposed "smart phone" not being able to do something "dumb phones" have been able to do for a decade !!!
Things could be simpler if there was a green "Call" button on Desire...

Dumb phones don't have 1ghz processors so they recognize it much worser. And most of them can't connect to 3g, and none of them enhances voice detection through 3g.
And because you really need this function try finding older versions of the app and appeal on Google to fix this issue. No worries if it's not fixed in a month there's gotta be some bloody big problem.

To make a voice call, you need to press a button to activate the voice call. A dedicated "call" button could help here. For example, I have a trouble to initiate a voice call in a car using Parrot handsfree car kit (no proble to accept incoming calls though).
