Can you tell me more about these? Exactly what will these provide and who with?
Thanks.

OK just to let you people know that's me got TWO in stock now at the moment, I will be ordering more once I know how people are interested. I have opened ONE up and TRIED it in my ORBIT and it is working PERFECT. I am in the UK and am using o2 AND mobileworld with NO PROBLEMS at all !
For those of you who don't know what this is, this is basically ONE SIMCARD HOLDER which allows you to use TWO simcards IN IT. So you can SWITCH between networks WITHOUT the need to SWAP SIMS !
Any questions PM me.
Cost is £12 delivered anywhere in UK
£15.50 for international
That is my prices so if anyone is not happy please don't post here, for those who are happy with the price then PM me to sort of details

Hi I am interested in these is there any chance you could post up some pictures of these and explain if any modification for the sim card is needed?
Also how do you switch between the two sims is there a menu etc?

PM sent m8, please check your inbox

I'm interested in doing this so I can use two sim cards in my XDA Orbit, I'm just a little bit concerned about cutting my SIM cards. Ideally I'd like to find a way of copying two SIM cards into a single new SIM but I've never seen anything like that.
Once you've fitted the dual SIM how do you switch between them or are they both active simultaneously?

nothing dodgy about cutting the sims m8, they come with GHOST sims which allow you to re-use your CUT UP SIMCARDS just as you would a normal simcard, simply place your small simcard inside the full size simcard and voila....you have a NORMAL simcard again. so you are NOT forced to use the dual sim if you don't want to.
cannot use 2 networks at same time m8, you have to switch between them but you don't have to turn the phone off or reset.
PM me for more info. already sold lots of these with no bad comments or problems so far. I was the first one to try it out, so I used my simcards and my own orbit as the test hamsters. so don't worry

Hi there,
I have still to receive the dual sim can you advise when it was sent?

Arrived now cannot wait to see if its upto the job?

yeah m8 really sorry for the delay, I am normally very quick with postage but had to go abroad for Chinese New Year so that was the hold up sorry. Anyway let me know how you get on as I personally use one and find it great.

hello
thesedual sim holders work a treat as i had one in my universal (xda Exec) and worked perfect. i sold the exec and bought the orbit and am still using the same dual sim holder, ie the cut version.
WORD OF WARNING - be very careful when cutting the sim as one wrong cut renders the sim useless and you will have to order another one, i know from experience as i have personally ruined one.... just follow the template and draw a line then using scissors cut the sim making sure that the line is visible and some of the extra sim part then use a blade to shave it to the correct size. this method worked for me for all the other times i cut the sim.
anyway once you have it working i have got a piece of software which a few of us 'developed' its called Wivit Sim Switch Software and basically you can use this program to switch between the 2 numbers without turning flight mode on and off, its quicker, and it tells you (most of the time) what sim is actually in the phone. This software was designed for WM2003 but we managed to get all the dll files etc and compile them into this utility. it is supposed to be a 15 day trial but the countdown timer takes a lot more than 15 days to count down, (i have neve seen it countdown to '0' as yet) so enjoy it.
download from www.our-xda.co.uk and in the tools menu.
thanks

Dual Sim (Ghost Adapter) SHARE YOUR EXPERIANCE

many say dual sims work and many say they dont so whats the final verdict. i have an orange connection and they seem to scam me every month as i said too many text messages. i have just got one of those 300 free text message o2 sims and wanna use both of them togather without having to carry another phone.
i think you will find that your phone is locked to you network. so you won't be able to use the o2 sim.
SORTED!!
for anyone who is scare of doing this ive doen it and it works. i have an orange contract sim card and o2 onlien pay as you go sim card working togather. these sims are both new so this has nothing to do with how new the sim cards are so thats bull.
the adapter i bought was a cheaop chinese one rather than ones people pay £15 pounds for so its dosent matter if you see a cheap one.
the hardest part was cuttiing the sims cos i was scared i would make them useless but there were stickers that helped to outline how to cut them. still i had to cut some of the sim bits as well. works fine. another diffciult bit was getting the stickers off.
dotn worry after you cut them you get a resume card which you can use to make your sim normal again and it all works fine.
im me if you have any questions ill be more than happy to assist as i can...
I bought two adaptors because initially I didn't want to cut the SIMs and I had no idea how they phisically where. Here you can see the photos:
http://pof.eslack.org/blog/2005/05/19/dual-sim/
The first one doesn't fit, so I had to cut the sims and use the second one. It works fine for me. Just turn flight mode on and then off again to switch sims.
FYI I bought them at eBay, really cheap.
Were you able to fit it at the back? Were you able to close back the battery properly. I am worried that the space at the back will not allow such SIM adaptor. Waiting for your reply as I do intend to use another SIMCard if possible.
The one where you don't have to cut the SIMs doesn't fit, so don't buy it.
This one is the one that fits, because its the size of a single SIM card, but contains two SIMs:
http://pof.eslack.org/blog/wp-content/dualsimholder.jpg
the adpater is thicker no doubt. you can push it in though. if you dont wanna get it out every so often theres no problem. if you do then you are going to have a struggle. when you do take it out do it carefully cos you dotn want to break the clip that holds the sim. i havent broken mine but always scared i will.
BUY THE ONE WHERE YOU HAVE TO CLIP THE SIM. SOUNDS SCARY BUT IF I CAN DO IT SO CAN YOU. IM NOT GOOD WITH DELICATE THINGS LIKE THAT AND I MANAGED
forgot to tell you one thing. it does make life simple by not having to swap sims or carry two phones. the hassle is when you have to keep switching the radio off or dooing a soft reset to swap around. someone on this forum suggested a facility where you could use two sims at the same time so you could get netrwork from both. good idea but not possible i thought about it and im not a techie.everytime i go on the tube it swaps netwroks when im underground. that is a hassle but i guess theres good and bad things about everything.
read about the sim programming sim if you can get hold of that get it cos that sounds interesting. i cannotbe bothered as this works fine for me.
Why so confusion...Gaurav...go to any telephone shop and ask for a dual sim adaptor where ever u are in India....the shop man will show u differrent kinds of the adapters...choose one which fits your device ...
I am using the ghost sim,,,china made...in XDA2s very successfully since past 3 months.... 8)
hdubli... im indian but live in teh uk so its bit difficult. i saw them really cheap whilst on holiday last time. round here cannot find shops that seel them cheap so had to get it off ebay. think i got hold of the same one as you but i bet you got it 10 times cheaper than what i paid maybe you can start supplying to people from there. i dunno...
would be nice if there was an accessorties shop of some sort on this forum where people could buy tested items which are guaranteed to work.

Check out this article: Dual Sim Adapter - Is It Any Good?
It's about my personal experience with a twin sim ghost adapter and might contain information you consider useful.
Ghost Dual SIM
I bought a Php500 (around USD9) Ghost Dual SIM Adaptor.
It works flawlessly switching between my main Globe SIM Card and my secondary 24/7 Sun Cellular SIM.
Switching is done thru Flight Mode ON/OFF. Losing signal like passing thru basement parking and elevators does not switch SIMS.
As bonus, the local mobile phone accessory stores here in Philippines have their own puncher so trimming the SIM card is not a problem. They do it for free.

thats the same one which i had, it broke after about the 5th time i took it out
With that information, I will never remove this Dual SIM Adaptor until it is really necessary and unavoidable.
Actually, I installed mine in the store where I bought it. The first two adaptors were defective. Of course, I didnt pay for it. I expected high defects rate of these SIM Adaptors as they really look cheap construction-wise.
Multi SIM - SIM MAX - changing phone number by STK
HIIII! I'm from Portugal and i have bought a SIM MAX ( http://www.sim-max.com/ ), i´ve programed 2 of the 12 numbers that the card supports. In my Alcatel mobile phone it works, but in my Qtek 9090 only works with the 1th number, i can't change between numbers or networks....
Can any one program the Radio version to make it possible, in my alcatel, in STK menu e see the SIM options and i can change between the 12 numbers, but in my Qtek 9090 i can´t see the STK options...
Qtek 9090
Rom Version: 1.40.00 WWE
Rom date: 03/10/05
Radio version: 1.12.00
Protocol version: 1337.42
ExtRom version: 1.40.147 WWE
Be CAREFUL
while inserting the dual sim "container".
Not only is the cintainer "fragile", the QTEK ALSO.
I bought a dual and, while trying to insert it, I broke one of the two "metal clamps" that hold it on the sides.
Happily I can still fit the dual sim inside and, by pushing the battery on it, it stands still... and works....
However: since then the QTEK does not "feel" the backup battery anymore.
on every reset I get the "low backup battery msg" and indeed if I look at the battery level in settings a nice 0% is shown.
Annoying but at least I did not broke it altogether.
So: be careful and if someone has some clue on how to repair let me know.
Ciao

King of Doublecard SIM adapter

How many people on here have the king of doublecard twin sim adapter off ebay and how are you getting on with them?
Does the battery still fit ok?
Mine arrived today & I fitted it in a matter of a couple of minutes - the battery still fits, the two SIMs lie flat no problem.
I've also splashed out on the WIVIT SIM Status switching software
I have the one where you have to cut the sims, working very well. Done quite a few for friends, cant go wrong. Try it, no need to pay for a switcher, it has an stk app that does that
king of doublecard working great for me.
THANKS GUYS was looking forsomething like this, just orded mine

can you explain further ...with pics would be nice
thanks
anyone got a link to this on ebay? cant find it anywhere!
I did a post somewhere on the board showing you ebay links and methods.
I've got one without the stk app, so you have to go to flight mode off, then on, to switch, but cutting the sim cards, although risky, can be done successfully, as I've done it with an O2 contract and orange PAYG.
V
did people actually slice up their SIMs ???
Hi guys go mine and it works atreat now , bought it from ebay
Not going to lie to you, the product is made from poor  quality but from £3. I get my money worth, and it does the job the ways i can switch are either by doing a soft rest or by puting the phone into flightmode and then back to normal phone mode, , iv addedsomepics for your benifit.
Guys, I've got a magician and I sliced and diced my cards fine.
Had troubles getting the Magician to register the sims, but that was because of it not providing enough pressure on the back of the SIM (stick some paper into the metal sleave to correct this).
This is the ebay link for the one I bought:
Look for "UNIVERSAL DUAL SIM **SHIPPED FROM THE UK**". I cost me about £3. The card is fine, the guy was ok, but shipping was steep from London (ie P&P is hiked up, but overall can't complain).
It works, but there is another one out with an "STK" menu built in to switch cards by going into the SimToolKit program. However, it's easy enough to go to flight mode and back quickly enough to switch. I read that this one drains battery faster. No comment on that. It worked for me.
So: SLICING DOES WORK. But, do it carefully. I've posted about 10 times on this - do it carefully, ensure you remove the transparent guide sticker after the cutting, and check it in a nokia or another phone before putting it in the Magician, to convince yourself you've done the slicing correctly
That ebay guy will also "stamp cut" the cards for you for free if you post them to him.
Good luck!
No, it's not possible to have two sims working simultaneously. Best we can hope for is 2 lines per sim, like Orange's Line2 service.
There are some cards that are 16in1 card copiers etc. these don't work in the UK, and will fubar your SIM when trying to crack the encryption. Be warned

There was a phone once, sometime in 2000 I think, it was a benefon dual band (1800/900) that worked in europe. That phone had two SIM slots. Too bad they did not make more

2sims working at once in a pda,, i know mate but let me keep on hoping lol
what about the data settings then?
sounds great, I am tempted to go for it, but do you have to re-enter the GPRS settings each time you switch from a sim card to another? Since say, O2 and orange don't use the same proxy servers to connect to the web via GPRS, I guess the right proxy details must be entered after each switch. Am I wrong? Can you connect to O2 mobile web using your o2 sim card, then switch to your orange sim and connect to orange world without making any change to the connections details?
Cheers
I think you will have to reenter the details each time.
However, if you're in the UK, there are cabs available on the board, or from Buymobilephones.net, with all the settings in one file.
So, switch to o2, click the cab and you're running. And likewise with Orange etc.
V
You can create all different accounts in the network section and just choose the right one you want to use. I have one SIM now, but several accounts for GPRS usage, MMS, dial-up connections etc. I just select the one I want to use in Settings-Connections-Advanced-Select Networks. The only problems that could exist are with sms and voice mail accounts, but I think these are stored in the network in combination with your sim card, so these should be ok as well.
that's great -thanks
Hi
I can buy double sim card for you all and ship it to your locations....
Send me your Model.
USD : 10
EURO : 8.14
UK : 5.55
Plus two dollar for shipping .
I will soon list it on Ebay if I get a good response.

Can I still use the apps on my SIM (the ones accessed through "SIM Toolkit" or will I lose that ability once I use KODC ?

Dual SIM / Multi SIM experiences?

Hi all,
In my previous phone (Nokia 6230) i placed a DualSIM card. Basically meaning that I could place 2 SIM cards in one phone. A menu option was created in the phone that allowed you to switch between the 2 sims without switching the phone on/off. Ideal since I have a business number and private number... I ordered this through mobile.brando.com.hk Attached you can find a description of this tool.
Now I have a Qtek 9100, (SIMlock removed thanks to a brilliant tool found on this forum) but can't get this DualSIM to work. Does anyone have experiences with a similar trick. I hate carrying 2 phones with me all the time, so i would really like to find a dualsim that also work with PDA's / Pocket PC etc. etc.
Any suggestions / remarks?
Many thanks!
I haven't looked at your attachment, but I've used a cut sim, basically the sim where you cut your full size sims into two small ones, and fit those into a "mother sim", and put that in your phone. It's worked fine on my Magician for months. Got it from ebay for about £5. I wrote my own line switcher for use with my Today plugin so I can see what operator I'm on.
Don't buy a sim cloner. If you're in Europe, you're likely to have a modern sim. They can't be cloned yet, as far as I know.
V
Hi V,
Strange because my dualsim is the same, I have cut the golden chips out, but it won't work on the wizard.... Wonder why?
Sounds cool that you can switch using the today screen, i think everybody that knows how to write programs is brilliant... Is this program posted somewhere?
Ciao!
Hello to all! The experience that I have carried out with Simclone to
have been OK! I have a super SIM with 5 numbers and can
change number/operator through the menu of STK.
Through the plugin "dktoday" I can visualize the active operator in that moment (Vodafone, TIM, etc)!
Ciao!
Maarten78: I've never tested my cut/dual sim in anything other then a wizard. But what messages are you getting? I had to carefully "thicken" the cut sim so the contacts all made good contact, but once I'd done that it worked perfectly for months.
My plugin, (VJAudioNotes, evolved into VJEphemeris) has not been released yet. It's written for my specific setup, so I couldn't release it right now for public use. But DKToday is great!
V
Thx guys,
After your comment about thickening the dualsim it seems to work... It only pushes the back cover out a little bit, but i'll find something to solve that i think...
All that i now need is a tool to display on the Today Screen which provider I'm on... Sure i'll find something, i've tried the DKToday but that crashes my phone when i start other programs like explorer or inbox... Strange!
Thx tho, Maarten
I'm wondering about something that is perhaps the opposite of what is being discussed here, which I wonder about by seeing the name "simclone".
If one has more than one GSM phone or device, yet only one GSM phone line, one has to switch the SIM card between devices, in order to switch which phone to use.
It would certainly be convenient to have a clone of the same card, to work on more than one phone. Of course, being the same phone line, both devices would not be used simultaneously. But it would be nice to be able to switch between devices, without swapping the card in and out.
I have heard that this is possible with some European carriers, to get an extra SIM card of the same line, to use in different devices. It isn't possible to do officially anywhere here in the USA however, AFAIK.
So---I'm wondering if it is possible to do this somehow unofficially. How does this simclone program work?
What is this about cutting a SIM card in two? Would this work with US T-Mobile SIM cards?
I've seen these dualsim on sale in a few places, but they stated that they don't work with 3G networks.
Would that include T-Mobile, O2 and Orange :?:

Woah! Cutting a SIM in half? As far as my vast intellect spans, I would imagine you would end up.....with....erm.....2 useless halves of a SIM that used to work?!?!
T-Mobile in the UK offer a Multi-Sim option for business customers of 10 handsets or more - multiple SIMs for same number, voice calls routed to unit of your choice...not sure about SMS Texts though :?

Dual Sim

Just thought I'd let ppl know that the "Magic Sim 29th A Cut ultra slim" does work in the Samsung Galaxy S2.
Interestingly I only found the 29th cut on the eurodualsim site. It wasn't available on the dualsim site. I emailed them and they said 29th cut works with android 2.3.x
Its a bit fiddly but it works.
However you will need an older phone to set the sim adaptor to the correct mode. On stock settings, it did not work in the galaxy.
It comes on default in "stk" mode which will only work on non android phones Im guessing etc. I loaded it up in my old nokia and found the dual sim menu option.
These are the things I had to do to get it working...
1. In the nokia phone, I put each sim card in separately before cutting and saved in contacts on each sim.... 001 as contact and number in sim 1 and 002 as contact and number in sim 2.
2. I then cut the sims to fit into the adaptor. Booted up the phone, accessed the dualsim menu and changed the mode to 007 mode (which means changing by entering key codes and no menu). I did have to cut a very small amount of the metal part of the sim.
3. Put the dualsim into the Galaxy. There is a slight delay with logging onto the network of the primary sim. To change sim you type 002 and dial and then hang up. A pop up notification says it is changing sim.
4. I found switching back to sim 1 that the network sometimes said it was still on network 2, even though it was actually back on network 1. A reboot fixed this.
Its very sensitive and sims have to be sitting in the adaptor quite precisely, other wise it won't work and you have to adjust the sims a bit. So now I have my main sim (Telstra) in sim 1 and a calling card sim in sim 2.
My Telstra sim had the old large metal chip which was bigger than the space for the sim in the adaptor, so I got it switched to a microsim.
The 29th gen doesn't actually exist. There's a 28th gen PLUS. If you email magicsim directly you'll find i'm right. You've either been sold a fake product or its been misrepresented as a 29th gen unit.
Hope this helps
Thats interesting....
Just checked eurodualsim.com again...and it clearly states 29th cut...I will email them to see what they say...
Im guessing its the 28th plus then... Just got a reply email they state "there are 2 names for magicsim 29th - 29th is firmware generation, 28th plus is the commercial name" so question answered
Anyway...just an update...
I was trialing a lot of different prepaid sims to see if they worked. In the end the adaptor stopped working. I followed all the instructions about pressing certain points on the cover and not go. So emailed them and they said to post it back and they would check it. However if it was broken due to "bad manipulation" then no go.
On the site in the faq in very bad English they state "Magicsim dual sim card use the most toughness and soft plank with the resistance to enfold and compression. Please trust to use it. It’s under guarantee except human factor and nature loss"
I had to post back at my own cost. They checked it and sent me an email saying there were traces of "heavy manipulation". Of course there was as it states in the faq..."Use a ball pen to press 12 round points on the back of cutting dual sim card"
However they replaced the adaptor free on charge and said to be more gentle on it next time! I did not have to pay for postage to send back to me.
The new adaptor worked out of the box, no jiggling, no pressing etc I think the original one I had may have been defective as it was so sensitive to placement from the beginning.
I have also discovered when pressing on Sim Toolkit the dual sim menu is there!!! Im sure this didnt work in the first adaptor.
So all in all a great product and great customer service!!! Definately a safe place to buy from.

Hello,
I can see that you are using this kit and since I have the same I would like to ask you, if you had the opportunity to use the Autoswitch function, if that works for you. I can only switch manually from one sim to another.
Thanks
By the way I am using the CheckROM RevoHD v6.

Are people really that cheap to not pay a few pounds, especially when it comes with adapters too?
Hmm.

I ordered a sim cutter as well. Although confident i could do this with a pair of scissors, i'm just not that good with fiddly things and probably would end up wrecking my sim. I'm sure others won't mind getting down and dirty and cutting their sims down to size. Thanks for the template anyway.

I recommend watching this vid then decide weather or not you want to buy a sim cutter it doesn't look that difficult...

When I commited the sin of buying an iPhone 4 for my wife (yes, I know), I also cut the sim down with a normal pair of scisors and it worked a treat. It was very easy as long as you are careful.
Most SIM cutters are fine, but there were a number of cases where people ended up breaking the edge of the chip with them. I guess it's up to you in the end, but either method should be fine with a little care.
Bugsy
Can't you just buy a Micro SIM from your carrier and port your number over to it? T-Mobile in the US offers this.

some carriers in EU may not sell micro sims separately or mabye they want to save the 10 bucks or so
It´s a good thing we can have this for free here in Sweden!
Just call your provider ande they will ship one to you for free
Telia and 3 does this anyway. But if they didn´t I´d pay to have one shipped to me. Wouldn´t risk it by cutting it myself.

Hopefully I can just walk into a three store here in DK as I think I would end up cutting the sim in half somehow! Not very trust worthy is a pair of scissors! hehehe. If not, I will get a sim cutter from ebay for pure ease.
Thanks to the original poster though, good idea for those that are confident that no issues would arise.
I'm just giving people options if your not confident enough then buy a sim cutter or purchase a micro sim. I however will be doing this myself of course
most shops have a cutter which you can use...
They only 6 dollars u know

Depends on your provider I guess. T-Mobile charged me £8.50 for a replacement SIM when my phone was stolen, so I don't doubt that they'd charge me again for a microSIM. I'm happy enough paying £2.35 for a SIM cutter and a couple of adapters.

Like he said, I visited my provider for a micro-sim and they just cutted it for me for free. No need to buy this kind of stuff (you'll probably never use again)...
Cut it myself. All good. Followed template PDF from web. Print, score and cut. Steady hand helps

You know there is a reason the SIM tray opening tool is shaped the way it is, right?
It is a template to cut your SIM down to microSIM size, that's what I used anyway - just make sure the chip is in the centre of the template.
I followed this how to and it worked perfectly for me. Only issue now with my One X is that I never get a 3G or H signal anymore, in places that I did with my Galaxy S. Shame but there you go. Thanks for the guide though, worked a treat
Glad it worked for you guys
just be careful if you have an older sim, mine around 15 years old and a sim cutter wouldnt do the job, half the contacts would have been cut off (this may explain why i get sim card removed then the phone rebooted on the occasion on my last phone).
so i done mine manually and it was a doodle, took around 2 mins flat and away it went.
