!!! New official pre-release HTC Europe WM6 rom upgrade available here !!! - 02-07-2007, 02:15 PM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HTC OFFICIAL WM6 ROM
This is the official release version of the HTC Windows Mobile 6 rom, it is the one they will offer on their website in the near future. Call it a free preview!
http://www.4winmobile.com/forums/4w...-wm6-rom-upgrade-available-here-via-link.html
Important if you have not already installed Olipro v7 2.10 you must install it on your Hermes before you run this rom upgrade, it is available on the downloads page HERE be sure to follow the instructions given there, it is insurance against bricking your Hermes.
It is a pretty basic rom and not a touch on jasjammings Black series, but it works well, does its job and I have tried and tested it. The first and second splash screens on your Hermes will not be replaced.
Remember this rom does not upgrade your radio.
You can always install any extras you wish to by looking through the downloads section.
If after upgrading you wish to go back to a different WM6 rom after trying this, you need to select SPL-1.11 and is it hard SPL? during the upgrade.
Download the rom from this download page HERE then extract the rar file to a new folder on your desktop and then run RUUWrapper.exe.

dutty´s Windows Mobile 6 Premium v2

finally!
screenshot: http://www.thegamebooks.com/download.php?id=151&f=29
release info: http://www.thegamebooks.com/pocket-...y´s-windows-mobile-6-premium-v2-f29-t633.html
if you need support for this catch me at the gamebooks forum.
...and now that this is done i hope i can get koch v2 out
greets: jas, legolas, mousey, olipro, pof basically the whole irc chan.
edit 1hr after release: files have been updated, please redownload
i`m really sorry for those that have already downloaded it, but releasing three roms at once is complicated
edit2: this rom is based on the latest public rom base aka dopod as the build i was working with was very close the switch of the base was easy and obvious.
i also forgot to mention these things:
OS Build: 17741.0.2.1
included IPL: 1.04
included SPL: 1.40.Olipro
included Radio: 1.41.00.10
one thing i want to mention: iirc all builds with an aku smaller than 1 are beta builds, i.e. 18000.1.0.0 would be the final of wm6.
you can see if the build# was not hacked if you dump the rom and check if shellres.dll and shellres.dll.mui are still XIP files.
if there is request for it i could release the rom without IPL/SPL/RADIO at all in the future.
last but not least, just because i dont write it in red and in capital letters doesnt mean it´s less important: please don´t forget to donate so i can motivate myself to work on these free projects. i´m still busy with a job and university, so i have to waste my already non-existant freetime on these projects (koch v2, wm6prem)
edit3: thanks to mr vanx and rabanjr we now have os only upgrades. the links have been posted in the download posts for the release on thegamebooks.com .
besides that, mrvanx also made an upgrade guide for wm6 premium that you can find here
Nice nice "advanced setup" app integrated in the rom!
We miss u in irc
Good work Dutty, advanced setup like too

very soon! maybe next weekend or next next weekend
files have been updated, if you´ve previously downloaded it, please redownload!
whats new in the updated version?
For the dummies amongst us, what is the difference between WM6 Professional and WM6 Premium?
Been waiting for this!
Any chance to use the Dopod Test ROM as a base ROM?
Any chance to see the Advanced Setup as a cab-file.
Upgrading to Dutty 2.0
I already have SPL 1.40 so when I try to upgrade, which boot loader do I choose? My IPL is 1.00 and I am running Dutty's first release.

For safety reasons, I would upgrade to a Hard SPL like 2.10Olipro. Look in the Hermes > Upgrading forum. Do that first. Then, when you run RUU, select the (I think third) option for 1.2 / 1.3 / 1.5 and newer versions and then run it.
You may also want to upgrade IPL - you do that by selecting the Force SSPL option. But only use that option for flashing IPL - otherwise use the 1.2 / 1.3 /1.4 and newer as indicated above. Good luck.
Ah, what the heck, here are some links. SPL upgrade link IPL upgrade link

Anybody tried on this ROM already?

Thank you.
How to upgrade the ROM?
I've downloaded the package v2 but having problem upgrading from the previous dutty.
So, in order to use my Hermes, I flashed to LVSW in order to use the my Hermes. Still trying to find ways how to flashed dutty v2.
kindly help.
Edit:
Managed to flach it using Custom RUU Updater by Olipro. Thanx a million to Olipro
Congratulations.....and thanks

good good,
gonna try this one soon as i'm back from work
Fantastic ROM with this upgrade.
1. I switched from V1 to V2 albeit some glitch/error during the process.
2. Fast upgrade from 0% to 80% then slow from 81% to 100%. So, For new ROM flasher, don't be afraid and don't do anything stupid by switching off and unplug the cable.
3. If you encounter the error or finding that the RUU updater doesn't match the IPL/SPL, don't worry, grab the Custom RUU updater from Olipro and copy the nbh file into the Custom RUU Updater directory. Force update, I may say. It works and I've tried it already as mentioned in my previous post.
4. If you want to use HTweakC or TweakUI, grab it from the WIKI. As for me, just use the "ADvance Setup" provided in the ROM and you will get the same result.
5. ClearVue PDF is replaced by Adobe LE which imho is better. Other user may have different opinion.
All in all, I like this ROM very much
Million thanx to dutty and others who have contributed towards improving the ROM. Also gratefull to Olipro for the most outstanding custom RUU. OliPro saves my Dopod838Pro (Hermes). If not I can only see the tri-color bootloader screen.

morisa

I Need the *Official* AT&T 8525 WM6 ROM

Hey,
I have read a bunch of posts and wiki'd the tools I'll need to upgrade my AT&T 8525 from WM5 to WM6, however I'm having a hard time finding the stock, official rom from AT&T.
I found this download off the HTC site:
http://www.htc.com/us/FAQ_Detail.aspx?p_id=65&act=sd
I'm not sure if this one is comming straight from AT&T or HTC, however if you guys don't think it will matter or do any harm to my device, I'll just follow the directions there and ActiveSync the whole thing clean and clear.
If anyone does know of a download directly off of an official AT&T site, that would work fine as well.
Thanks!
Which wiki did you read?
This one here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Hermes
returns this:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Available Original Shipped WM6 ROM Versions
which in turn, returns this:

Flash O2 XDA Diamond? To Remove Branded Rom?

Hi guys ... I will probably be getting a O2 XDA Diamond...
The O2 Diamond has a blue branded Touchflow Gui...
Will there be anyway to install the Original HTC software on it so i have the nice Black Menu?
yep you have to install a hardspl, either olipro's [which i think is unreleased] or the one made by the diamond project team.
then you can flash a new rom.
however, check your rom version in settings->system->device information
if it reads 1.34.831.1
it means you have a new spl that prevents you from flashing hardspl until the experts here create a work-around.
i hope this helps
Rory
On a related note, I was considering getting the O2 XDA Diamond but putting the black TouchFLO 3D on it. However, I've now decided to get a normal HTC Touch Diamond, because I'm lazy and I don't want to flash a new ROM for a number of reasons.

I dont think ill be getting the htc modell becaus i would have to pay much more...
Because of the o2 contract that i have in august i can re new the contract an will get a o2 xda for about 100 euro... so i think ill be sticking to this modell..
Please keep this thread up 2 date guys... Good work so far...
Well I´m pretty new to this. Im gonna get a XDA Diamond too within these weeks. But as mentioned the blue TouchFlow theme from O2 is really ugly in my opinion. So maybe someone can explain me how it is possible to change the ROM to get the original black theme from HTC.
What is necessary for that to work, what changes would that bring to my system (all programs lost?) and what dangers come along with that?
I appreciate your answers. Thanks.

c´mon guys, please give me some information on this.
Ok .
First of all you can take one of two options.
1) Hard SPL the device and flash a new ROM that someone has mirrored here.
Look here for Hard SPL ( Read carefully as not all Diamonds can be Hard SPl'd as yet)
HardSPL Here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395640
ROM is here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=394985
Hard SPL your device as per the Instructions then run the ROM update that you would have downloaded above . Job Done.
2) Wait until someone removes the 3G Interface from a Diamond (HTC Maila) and then apply that cab to replace your blue one.
Hope this helps
If you read the very first thread in this forum then you would have had an idea on what you was asking.
Thank you very much for your answer. So just to get me right. If i need a german ROM, is there a chance, as far as the new ROM version (probably comming with the german xda) is HardSPL useable, to flash another german HTC ROM on to it (if someone is providing it)?
And the last question, do i loose all my installed or preinstalled apps on my device, such as TOMTOM when i flash a new (other) ROM?

If its an O2 ROM then as you have an O2 device you may not need to Hard SPL but not sure on that one.
As long as you Hard SPL the device then you will be able to flash any ROM that turns up on this forum on your device. Please read the post I pointed out to you, as one of the SPL's shipping on the Diamond will not work and you may brick your device
And the last question, do i loose all my installed or preinstalled apps on my device, such as TOMTOM when i flash a new (other) ROM?
When you flash a device it will set it back to a ROM only . EG all the apps etc you have installed will be gone. TomTom if available on the device ROM will be on it as well (Although I thought O2 pefered Copilot) . If not have a look around the Forums and find a suitable TomTom cab for the device.
Again if you spend some time reading some of the threads on here and within other devices you will start to understand more .
Ok guys so hold us up to date on this.... Im getting my O2 phone in 2 weeks and I think I wont like the blue TF3D.
Ok guys... so is there any new information on getting the branded colour touchflow 3d to the orignial black one? Someone here mentioned doing it without any hardspl stuff via a CAB file or something....
ANy news on this?
Thx Busta
Here in germany it's possible to renew your contract through several online shops. When doing so, you can get any device you want. You usually also get a better deal than renewing through O2. Try if this is possible in your country and get a HTC device!
The only advantage of getting an O2 device is, that you get a refurbished device sent to you in case of a waranty return and don't have to send it in for repair. (At least that's my experience with the hermes aka. XDA Trion I had)

Whats the point of getting a HTC Touch Diamond then? The "fun" begins with cooked ROM flashing and since the Touch Diamond seems to be more and more popular, some very nice ROMs will be out in the near future. Can't wait to see where this is going...

Flashing to another ROM with HArdsSPL wipes out all in your RAM and ROM memory. it over writes al registries.
Also TomTom. A back-up is not advisable as it will not run, or cause bigger problems.
Black TouchFlo 3D Cab
for all the guys, they would like to remove the blue ugly O2 TouchFlo 3D skin, without flashing the Diamond! ;-)

Read and search mate !
I did as i'm a total noob and still managed to install hardspl and the new rom !
Its all here to be found

OK, Noob education thread!!

OK, so I’m going to be getting a UK Orange branded Touch Diamond this week. My aim is to remove the Orange branding in the software and revert it to standard HTC black and white theme. As it would be out of the box if I bought one direct from HTC. I’ve no interest in any tweaks/improvements to the standard ROM (different radio ROMs etc) at the moment, maybe once I’ve managed it once successfully I’ll worry about that! I’ve spent a day or so reading these forums and though it seems complicated to a beginner I think I have it all figured out now! I would appreciate however if someone experienced could cast an eye over what I’m about to do and let me know if I’ve made any errors that could result in me ruining an expensive piece of kit!
My understanding is that there are basically 3 stages to flashing a new ROM onto a Diamond, backing up, loading hardSPL and loading the desired ROM. So my plan is to do the following:
1. Back up all operator settings (WAP, MMS, GPRS etc) or use something like PIM Backup (though I won’t have any data on my Diamond as it will be brand new!)
2. So, first I download the signed version of hardSPL (1.40), from here (http://modmydiamond.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12&Itemid=26&limit=1&limitstart=2 ). My understanding is that by using the signed version I’ll reduce to a minimum any chance of buggering up my Diamond and basically it will stop me from doing anything stupid!!
3. Then follow the instructions on that same page, which will install hardSPL.
4. Now find a ROM that I want to load onto the Diamond, from what I can tell this (1.34.831.1 WWE from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=399680) is the latest HTC released ROM in English (PLEASE correct me if this is wrong!!)
5. Follow the instructions detailed here to install the ROM (http://modmydiamond.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12&Itemid=26&limit=1&limitstart=4). As I understand it, when I unzip the ROM that I have downloaded, it includes the 6 files listed on that page, including the ROM update utility.
As I understand it following the instructions on that final page will leave me with a Diamond that is not in any way Orange branded and has the latest official HTC released ROM on it (black and white themed menus etc etc).
So, is everything that I’ve written correct, and if I follow these instructions will I avoid ruining my phone? If I’ve missed anything to check before I start or that I need to do please point me to the thread that explains it so that I can look over it.
Hopefully over time this thread can be a one stop shop for absolute noobs who are unsure of how exactly to go about flashing their device, and in what order to do things!!
Thanks
JP
I'm still a noob, too, but two things you should make sure:
- Have your battery on the phone fully charged
- Disable standby on battery and on AC power in the phone and on your main PC so they don't shut down during the flash process
I just flashed my Diamond successfully today, it's actually quite easy if you get the right steps - and thosee above look just like what I did.
Good luck!
W0nk0
4. Now find a ROM that I want to load onto the Diamond, from what I can tell this (1.34.831.1 WWE from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=399680) is the latest HTC released ROM in English (PLEASE correct me if this is wrong!!)
Really, that's the first and not recommended.
1.93 is the last, but not very obvious where it is released from.
1.37 is what I know the last official release.
Orange UK ROM is 1.37...
When flashing one for a friend I exprienced issues trying to flash HardSPL with 2 errors but managed it in the end with Olipro HardSPL 1.3 the but Diamond project team 2 rom on, the flashed radio rom back to 05.

1.93 is supposed to be the last official stock ROM from HTC (yes, it's English - WWE). http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=408281
How do you tell if it really is stock and uncooked? No idea, but it works very well indeed and is very responsive.
Oh, and the dev hard spl works to flash 1.93; some others I tried didn't. YMMV

Does that mean that the Orange branded ROM is 1.37? Which one should I be using to remove the Orange branding and revert to the standard HTC interface?

NEED Windows 6.1 rom for my HTC touch pro 2

HI All
on 20th july 2010, i bought new HTC touch pro 2. Being an outdated one, this model is one of mine favorites. After one day of purchase i tried to update my phone to windows 6.5 on HTC website but i was not able to do so because this the the phone was intended to be sold in netherland and not in Singapore. This statement was told to me by HTC customer care, then i called the seller and asked that what should i do. They didnt admit that they cheated on me and they advice me to download windows 6.5 from Netherlands website and i followed their instructions. When the update was finished the language of the phone was turned out to be in Dutch. I asked for help from the seller but they told to pay them exta sum to 50 dollars to restore or to install windows 6.1. I even contacted HTC customer care but they didnt help me out.
So guys, if anyone of you have orginal window 6.1 or orignal window 6.5 then please give the link to download the same. I am in a fix right now. I made a bad purchase and right now my money is on stake.
Please help me
Right now i am in Singapore.
If you want to go down the custom rom route, you should use hardspl to unlock your phone (instructions can be found in this rom development section) and then flash any rom you want. There's quite a few choices so you might want to try a few.

Yes, go to flashing your first GSM Rhodium topic and then choose a ROM.
If you're outdated (like me... ) I recommend a stock 6.1 rom, which I just love. I donno if you're staying in Singapur or not, then choose an Asia ROM.
Right now, it sounds like you're limited to Dutch ROMs, since that's where your phone was designed to be used. But as others have said, if you install HardSPL on your phone (see the sticky posting about it), then you will be able to choose from *any* official ROMs (either from HTC or from carriers) for the GSM Touch Pro 2, or any of the custom ROMs on this site.
So put on HardSPL, then it should be easy to get a ROM to meet your needs.

Not sure about language but I highly recommend McCune's Cosmik Debris Rom. FASTEST WM6.1 ROM and flawless. It doesn't come with any today plugins except the basic ones so you can install whatever you want (I installed sense 2.1 and it's fast as hell).
Once you try this one, you won't care to try any other ones . Just be sure to download the Connection Setup from somewhere (on the 2nd or 3rd post of the thread).

I think that hard spl is installed in the phone, because when i bought this phone it was loaded with windows 6.1 (english) after i update it to windows 6.5, i stucked up with dutch language.
what you think?

I doubt it, it's probably just that you loaded a ROM that was compatible with your specific phone - i.e. if it's a Dutch TP2, then you'll be able to load Dutch official ROMs (but nothing else).
To check, you can put your phone into the bootloader and it will tell you the SPL version (don't worry, this won't harm your phone). Hold down the "Volume Down" button on the side, and press the reset button (and keep holding Volume Down). The phone will come up with a tri-coloured screen and a load of text. In there will be the SPL version, it will be something like 0.79, or 0.84, etc.
HARD-Spl
HARD SPLing your phone will void your guarantee, but you shouldn't worry about it.
Go to the noob session, HARD SPL is an exe, will "open" your phone in 2-3 minutes.
Then, you can flash any rom.
I do not know, if you need an asia rom just because you stay in asia.
Maybe not.
I use 6.1 stock rom, also called shipped rom.
Or just choose any.
I have this if this (6.1)is what you are looking for.

No need to do that. All original ROMs can be downloaded from here (just not the carrier specific ones).
