title bar clock and htc home clock off by # of seconds - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

has anyone noticed that if you have both the htc home plugin and the title bar clock on the home screen that they are off by a number of seconds?

Happens to mine on my Mogul. Wish I could just take the clock of the title bar and just have the plug in.

there are REG edits to take the clock off of the title bar... If you need your clock to be more accurate than what the one on the phone is you should probably be using something a little better than your phone to tell time!

strange my 6700 didnt have this problem
could someone with a solution shed some light onto this matter

Then again, if you buy an IT device that costs as much as the Hermes, you'd think that the clock would be accurate.

I tried the reg edit but there is a block where the time used to be, and while it blends in with the bar itself, it overlaps the item to its left a little.
And i have the same problem. its weird.

Yeah, I can help you, but WHAT icon do you want. As you can tell your statement contradicts itself. So which icon doesn't show up, the one next to your clock or the Bigger icon. You said the calendar icon next to you clock no longer shows up, but you want the bigger icon, HUH?!?
no it dosent contradict it self because in the corner of each panel theres a tiny icon and then next to the clock theres a big icon so i clafied that, i need the big icon right next to the numbers of the clock. it was a calender or soemthing please help its drivin me nuts
I think I know what you're trying to say
First off don't be so quick to jab, you are coming here for help you know. I was just pointing out that what you said really isn't describing your problem correctly.
That being said. I think what you are referring to is your alarm. It has a picture and it's right next to your clock as you call it or the time display portion of your Clock Panel. Anyway, it only shows when your alarm is present. Try turning on your alarm and see if that does it.
If that is not what you are talking about, then the only other thing I could think of is that you mean your tiny icon could be your inactive icon or your active icon. These would require registry edits to put them back on your screen. You need to go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\Clock and edit where it says the icon paths are. Not hard to do. Also you might want to edit the HKLM\Security\CHome\Default Settings\Clock portion of the iconpaths. This should fix that. If that is your problem. Other than that, you're on your own. Unless you can articulate yourself better or in a fashion in which all can understand you or your dilemma!!
Cheers!

Clock falls behind
I'm having problems with the clock falling behind. I go to sleep, wake up, and the clock is about 20-30 minutes behind. I'm running the 6.1 rom. Any help is appreciated.

So are you saying that, with knowing the right key in the registry, one could change that dinky looking transparent music note on the Music panel to, say, something with more class? I have several icons at my disposal (as I'm sure most here do) and would love to change that icon...Also, the tiny icon on the upper left corner of the home panel just next to the carrier (T-Mo) is just a calendar...it was something different before I hard reset the phone with this ROM installed. If you know these keys, please list them! I'd appreciate it ever so much!

Just find the folder of the panel you wish to modify and look for the key iconpath, within that folder. Direct it to your own icon.
FYI export the keys just in case you goof up something, you can import them again

yup in both reg address though
Also you would have to type it out as: \Windows\music.png;\Windows\music.png
Cause the first is for active window icon and the second is for inactive window icon.
ok well...it changed the small icon in the title of the panel but not the main icon
I want to replace the WM6.1 default transparent music note with the png I have placed in windows...where do I alter that or can I?
can you post a screen shot of the icon you want changed.
i cant picture which one you are speaking off.

Try going to the reg to and changing HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\CMusic\Images\chMusic_noalbumart and the same in Security reg for chome. I think those change the big default icon that shows when no album art is present.

Thanks for the tip. For clarity, I speak of the transparent music note that is positioned just to the left of "Play All Songs" within the panel. Now I can't believe it'd be too hard to spot. I've flashed my phone with Kavana's so those with that ROM can't have too different a panel!
On that note, pun intended, I may have found it due to your suggestion Showaco! I should have investigated more. I mean it was right there!

How do I check the Battery Status?

I searched on here, but couldn't seem to find it.. I've looked in the manual, but nothing.
When you click the top banner bar it takes you to the notification screen, even when you click on the battery. I just wanted to know if there was a way to check the battery without just relying on the 4 bars?
The notification screen tells you the battery % remaining, and if you click it it takes you to the battery option.

Press the start menu in the top left of your home screen. Choose "settings", then choose the "system" tab. On there you will find an icon labeled "power". That will take you to a 10%-increment battery meter.
Yeah, I was hoping there was a better way to look at it than having to go through all that every time.
I guess on the sprint version it doesnt show it in the notification screen..
You are right, it's not on the Sprint version.
You could intall the 1% increment battery driver and a custom taskbar that shows the percentage of the battery.
thats too much work.. and I kinda like the normal htc taskbar.. ah well
The 1%-driver will only change the look of your power-info....not the whole taskbar!

I installed batti and really like it.
It's a really small prog that displays a color-coded bar across the top of the screen. You can adjust colors, bar thickness, and when it shows up and when it doesn't. give it a shot.

its not at all that im lazy, its that I like the original taskbar that comes with the phone.
I've done that with previous phones I've had.. and to tell you the truth, most of the task bars that people "think" look cool just make it look weird and gaudy.
for once, I want to install as little tweaks as possible to the phone to get it the way I want. I was just simply seeing if there was something I was missing with regarding to checking the battery status. On ANY other PPC I've had, all I had to do was click on the little battery icon and it would do the job for me.. but not this one. Thats it

You could extract the file(s) and change them yourself if you don't like the taskbars out there. I can't remember the exact file name(s), but you can do a search and there is a thread floating out there that tells you how to edit them.
my screen calibration was off just a touch so everytime i hit the battery icon it took me to the running programs tab. just my .02
For anyone looking to change their status bar, I strongly suggest BATTI. It is one of the first things I install whenever I flash a rom. You can customize the colors and actions, and with the 1% cab installed, it gives a pretty accurate battery reading at just a touch. One last thing, it will warn me when I hit MY low settings (ones I stated, not that Tmous or HTC set).
I wish I could remember the original thread, but I have had this for years (on my Wizard). I'd be happy to upload the cab if after a search you cannot find it.

[Q] Clock vs. Battery Meeter in Title Bar Solution

I like having the "Display Clock on the Title Bar in all programs" option on, so I can keep an eye on the time no matter what is going on, but when using this option the "Battery Meeter" in the Title Bar disappears...I guess it's an either or thing...
Anyone know how to have both?

Flashing a custom WM6.5.x ROM would allow you to have both. Unfortunately, WM6.5 doesn't seem to support both icons in the taskbar at the same time.

There are some great apps that show the battery state across the top of the device as a colored line. Do a search on AvianWavesBattline for that one.
Or I recommend the BattClock program, which allows you to put up a lot of information in the taskbar.
I actually use both...

i take it that it probably cannot be done as that side ir your notification bar, when ever you get a text or something goes on text flashes on it. but if you download certain apps, eg. advanced taskiller, 3g watchdog, setcpu
they occupy that space nicely
You can download phono from the market it will put a carrier logo on the top bar to the left.

[Q] Regarding the Quick CIrcle clock face...

The clock in the Quick Circle is very cool, but I have a question... on this particular face and another there's a second clock face. In this example it's at the bottom. It displays a single hand at the 6 o'clock position on my device. In the picture below it's at the 4 o'clock position.
So it apparently means something. At first I thought it might be an alarm indicator. But it doesn't tie in to the standard Clock app as far as I can tell. And nothing I do to it while it is displayed yields a menu or anything.
So anybody got a clue what it's for and how to use it?

If it doesn't do anything I'm at a loss to understand why it would point to different places. Like I said, it points to the 6 o'clock position on my phone but the 4 o'clock position in this picture and others. And LG support is useless here. Hopefully I'll never have to call them for a serious issue...

I would check your clock application. You may have additional clocks for another time zone. That's the only thing I can think of.

Thanks...but if it were tied in to different time zones why is it frozen in the 6 o'clock position regardless of the current time? I do use the world clock feature of the Clock app as my job takes me around the world. I also use a clock widget to display times in different zones. None of that seems to have anything to do with this.
