Is there any software to replace the standard FM radio software? That can record? - P3300, MDA Compact III General

I'm looking for a software that will utilize the FM radio and allow you to record the radio. This would be great for me when I go to conventions that broadcast on a dead radio station. I'd be able to get a clear recording of a speach. If anyone knows of any software or combination of software that will allow me to do that, please post links.

Alternative FM tuner software

Hi!
Is there any alternative FM tuner software that could be used with P3300. The original software is OK, but I miss a RDS AF (alternative frequency) option.
Regards,
PK
I'm still not sure there is even RDS on the P3300. If there is no RDS than other radio software will not help.
The device does have RDS, it can display the radio station name but in order for this to work you need a good quality signal, sadly the aerial built into the headphones isn't up to much in way of reception - Mike
I think receiving the station's name and displaying other Data ist not quite the same. I believe RDS PS is the Service that displays the Stations Name. Nearly all Radios have that. I have some radios though, that are capable of Displaying the Station Name, but no further informations. These Informations come with RDS EON (Radio Data System with Enhanced other Networks) AF and TA, only to name two, are services that come along with RDS EON. So i am guessing, that Artemis FM Software is truly capable of RDS, but not EON.
I'd also like to have a software that can do that

TMC (here we go again)

Hi. If you get the ViaMichelin naviagation software onto your P3300, will it then be able to recieve TMC messages? On ViaMichelin HP it says that it use FM radio to recieve updates? http://www.viamichelin.com/viamichelin/gbr/GPS/htm/nav/our-advantages.htm
Cheers
regarding similar question, I've got following answer from HTC:
....there is a hardware element that is required to translate and use the TMC data so it is impossible to. As of yet, no HTC devices support this.

it's sounds like somebody is making us fools.
TMC information is sent using FM RDS transmission - the same transmission is providing your fauvorite stations names.
FM Radio application is able to read and show RDS transmission - anybody can see RDS info on the screen. IF the RDS transmission is accessible from FM RADIO application, THEN SHOULD be accessible from TMC-related applications. The question is - which port is used for communication, speed, baud, etc.
The other way is to disassemble FM Radio application from Artemis.
This has been discussed 10 times. RDS and TMC are different things concerning the physical radio waves. You need an extra hardware filter for TMC to be able to read it. A software update can't do that job because you cannot access the TMC information from the radio waves.
According to http://www.rds.org.uk/, TMS is just extension to RDS, same as EON, TI etc.
Availabity of TMC info should be subject to FM receiver architecture.

hardware support: FM transmitter???

i know that my rhodium has a program in the windows folder called BTFM.exe however when I launch it, the UI comes up, and it looks like I am getting signal. but no sound...
so here is where the idea came from to ask the following question:
Can we use the hardware to transmit audio to the car?
I know that we can recieve fm stations (which seems useless to me since I have pandora) ; instead I would like to know if I can transmit sound to any car (I use a lot of peoples cars and the cd players outright suck and dammage the disks at the slightest vibration)
any insight on this would be welcome.. I am sure that a lot of people would be interested in this.
I am not sure wither the hardware supports (FM Transmitting) because Receiving FM is not the same as transmitting FM,
(i.e. if a device can receive FM, it is not necessary that it can transmit FM, hardware wise), infact, most of the devices that receive FM can not transmit FM
before asking the question wither we can create a CAB for it, we should ask is the hardware supported for that feature? (and FM Receiving is not considered)
yes, the question was stated on the first post.
perhaps I would have made my self more clear if I had asked:
"is there hardware support for transmiting fm signals"

desire's fm radio

Can anyone shed some light on the topic?
What are the options in this application, is it 88mhz-108?
Can I use my normal headphones or do I need to use the ones that came with it?
Can I save stations? Can I listen to the radio and browse the internet at the same time? Are there any videos available showing it in action?
1) it`s an FM radio so 88 to 108 only
2) Yes u can.
2) You can save stations and yes you can listen radio and do anything else (e.g surf the web). For videos try youtube.
Can someone confirm that RDS isn't working? If so, could this be a hardware or software missing feature?
Thanks.
RDS - Definately NOT working on mine, no idea if either hard or software related...sorry...but picks up a lot more stations than my (now sold) HD2.
If RDS is the thing which tells the handset what station it is (eg BRMB, Radio 1) then yes, RDS works for me.

Doesn't appear to work on mine.
RDS works fine for me.. finds Radio 1, Rock Radio, Classic, Key 103 (these in Manchester).
Works pretty well on my Desire!!
RDS doesn't work for me either. Berlin/Germany. Maybe this feature is location based?

[Q] fm radio app

I was wondering if anyone know of an app that would allow you to use the fm transmitter on the evo to push a signal to another fm radio?
So, basically you would be able to connect your phone to a car radio.
Would this even possible with the fm radio on the evo?
AFAIK, the FM radio is only for receiving. there has not been an implementation of FM broadcast (yet). I don't know that it is on any dev's "to-do" list either.
