what does mean a very fast flashing red led - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro Accessories

hey guys i just bought a new battery for my jasjar, the phone isnt booting even if the charger is plugged in, it only boot for like 6 seconds before it turn off again, even if i charged the new battery for 10 hours, even there is no orange led tell that the battery is charging... i plugged the phone into the USB cable with the pc and a fast flashing red light comes from the led (like 3 flashes per second) so what is the problem? is the new battery damaged or what? please help

red light means extremely low batt.....guess your battery is faulty

i got the same thing.
and no it's not the battery.
it's the charging circuit on the main hardware isn't working.
open your phone and check the five small wires that they connect the mini usb to the main mother board, one of them must be cut.

so, is there a solution to this? or there really is nothing more for the device but the trash bin or for spare parts?

Have you tried this?

If you already replaced the battery and nothing, and you want to get rid of dear Uni place it for sell in parts on marketplace, a lot of people will go for it!

I had exactly the same thing with my old battery, after my try to discharge it with a lil electro-motor. then i found a post of a guy with the same thing, who fixed it-by "zapping" the UNI battery with a 9V battery, connecting + to + and - to -,for a few second. I tried it without thinking twice. It worked for me. Dunno how and why,but it did. I use the battery again, normal. But beware,it is dangerous to play with this type of battery,it can explode. Do a search on this subject and you will see

I agree with keeping_sg
how long have you left your uni on the charger?
just plug it in and leave it on the charger all night and see what happens.

I bought yesterday a 4800mAh battery from Hong Kong... 10 euros included shipping + FREE black back cover

Good battery life but still prefer to carry 2 original sized batts rather than get that big one, making even bigger our Uni

BA turning off if removed from cradle and not turning on again

Hello guys,
I have a problem, i haven't used my VPAIII for 6 months, and some days ago i wanted to turn it on, and it didn't react, so i decided that battery is low, i connected my device to cradle, and wait for some hours. So the problem is then device in cradle it's ok i can switch it on and it works perfectly, but if i remove it from cradle it turns off imediately and i can't turn on it again without connecting to cradle chargement, also it doesnt react to usb connection as chargment. Battery is totaly new it was bought from ebay (expanded 3400 mAH). Interesting thing that if i connect to cradle, device turns on automaticall and 1 time blinks led in red and goes booting system with no led light, after i see Windows screen it starting show the same right led in orange always, i see charging battery meter in windows but battery didnt go more then 50%, and everytime i boot on i receive Backup battery Very Low notification no matter how much i was charging my battery.
So i'm afraid maybe it's internal backup battery failure, or my main battery didn't get chargement then it says that charging. Maybe someone of You guys have any usefull advices, what can be the problem? Also if it possible maybe somebody can give me alink or image to see there this backup battery soldered on scheme.
Thanks ppl!!!

It sounds like the main battery is bad.
Is the battery you picked up new, or new as of 6 months ago? If it's new-new, it is still possible that it is bad.
Also, the charging circuit may have died. Most electronics will work and work, and when they do die, it's usually when power is applied to them (turned on, charged, etc).
The fact that it does charge up to 50% makes me think the main battery is bad. Do you still have the original battery? Try it and see what that does.

The internal battery is used only when the main battery is discharged or missing.

Thanks for reply, new battery i bought maybe 4-6 months ago i used it maybe 1 week, after that i turned off my device and left it for 4-6 months, so nothing should be happened to battery. I'll check device with old one, but it seems that device didn't work with original old one battery too.
Any other solutions, advices?
Thank You very much guys for help!!!!

[Q] Charging Problems with GN I9250-XXLFA

Hello,
I bought a GN, I9250, European model, made in China 4 days back from a vendor online.
I am having problems charging the phone.
When PHONE is ON
1. When plugged into the included charger/cable, the battery status shows CHARGING (AC) for a few minutes and then changed to NOT CHARGING. Removing the USB plug or switching off the mains and restarting in a minute takes the status back to CHARGING (AC) but again for a few minutes.
2. Tried with multiple chargers and cables with exactly the same results
3. When the phone is connected to USB port in laptop, the charging happens, for a longer duration. The laptop also detects the phone immediately and I can access files etc. After say 20-30 minutes odd the status again goes to NOT CHARGING. However, while the phone is not charging, I can still access files on the phone. This implies the USB connectivity is still perfect, only the charging has stopped.
4. Under no circumstances does the charge go beyond 50% odd, irrespective of the duration of charging
When PHONE is OFF
1. The phone shows the battery icon with bolt for a few seconds and then shuts off. If I click the power button briefly I can see the battery charging icon.
2. I kept the phone in charging with the wall adapter all night, and got 49% charge only, starting from about 10% when put to charge.
The battery indicator graph shows the phone is has never hit a charge level above 65% types.
I have not seen the other charging issue of the phone showing a bolt in the battery icon even if the phone is not plugged in ! (thank god!!!)
I bought it "as new" condition, and performed a factory reset immediately on receiving the phone. So its running stock applications, with almost everything except voice and 2g data on. No applications except Whatsapp are running.
All other aspects of functionality are working well.
I have read hundreds of posts across the web and am not sure what the problem could be with my phone. I am in India and since the phone was bought off the net, its unlikely that it will be provided warranty etc here. In fact I'm not even sure if there will be servicing competency in the technicians here.
I have tried to puch the micro USB tongue by pushing it upwards gently, but cannot really say whether or not it did bend or i was just too fearful. Have tried removing battery etc and all other soft methods written everywhere.
Any help ???

Hello,
I do suspect it myself, but I don't know how to verify this. Can any other Samsung phone battery be put in the phone or is the phone compatible only with this one? Getting another battery is not possible in the near future since this is not available in India...
Any thoughts on how to check this?

I have the same problem, but it's not the battery's fault. My brother also has a GNex, and I tried charging my phone with his battery, and vice-versa, without any luck. I think it's the USB port's fault. Something about power not getting to the phone correctly. Luckily I bought it at a store here. I talked to the owner, and I'm going to exchange it for a new one tomorrow.

Hello,
I found another GN and did this experiment.
1. When I plugged in my battery which was showing 53% on my phone into the other phone it showed 79%.
2. When I charged the other GN with my battery inside, it charged to 100%
3. When I put my battery back into my phone, it showed 67%
4. When I put in the other GN battery into my phone it showed 49%, while it was showing 82% in the other GN.
5. I was able to charge this other battery in my phone to 60%.
6. When I put it back into the other GN it showed 94% charge.
Apparently my battery seems to be ok. Also, it seems that my phone is charging ok too. But there may be a problem with the phone detecting the battery level !!
Any thoughts?

charging issue

hi, i hav been facing charging prob, my does not charge whn its remain on rather drains batt more quick but it was charging whn i turn it off but slow. i thought its the issue of sense 5 so i degrade to sense 4+ viper 3.8 but it got worse. idrained my batt and than put to wall charge for whole night but the charging led kept blinking and than it disappeared than again i unpluged and plug the cable to phn than it starts blinking and than again blinking of led disappeared. i thought it will take time to become stable so i left it charge for whole night. in the morning led was disappeared and i tried to turning phn on but it did not respond. than i plug it to pc and it started blinking without disappearing of led. i left it for the whole day to charge but the led didnt turned to green due curiosity i turned phn on and batt lvl showed 20% ......so plzz any 1 tell me wht can be the solution of the problem plzzzzzzzz:crying::crying::crying:
You probably have a dead battery...Someone who has seen this problem before could confirm.
The way you write is pretty hard to read, so you might wait a while until someone does confirm this .
1. Never charge the phone for the whole night.
2. I had the same problem. I changed my charger and now, it is perfectly charging. Try it.

thanx for suggestion, how much do i hav to pay for a new charger??
But you said you left it to charge via USB cable on your PC and it didn't charge properly. If you used the same USB cable with the charger, then the cable might be to blame. You should try a friends cable before buying a new charger.
If the charger does not work with the same USB cable you used to connect to the PC, your battery is most probably dead.

Charging all night isn't an issue.
The battery will charge to 100% then drop to 95% and back up, will cause no damage.
Also smaller and often charges are better for the battery as it slows the formation of crystals so the battery holds its capacity longer.

If you have used 2 different cables to charge and none worked properly, that is probably too big of a coincidence. Your phone has something broken; it's either the battery or the charging circuit in the phone. You should take it to a specialized phone service to see what's wrong. They will also try charging it before disassembling, and if there's nothing wrong with the phone, they probably won't even charge you anything.
If indeed they have to disassemble it, you should ask them if there will be any visible differences once they assemble is back. I had a cracked digitizer on my old One X and took it to service and replaced the display+digitizer(they come together) and, although the screen was new, it did not fit as snugly as before, so you could see light leaking out the side margins of the display.
They probably had many of these phones under repair and should know if this will be the case with your phone.

Xperia Play red light

Hi,
yesterday I bought a used R800i, the seller said I just need to charge the Battery. So back at home i plugged it to a charger an the LED near the power button startet blinking. First I thought it´s not a big deal but after a couple of hours it was clear that this is not alrigt. Even if i remove the battery the red light keeps blinking continuous (not 3 times or something similar, just every second once). I don´t know if it´s a software or hardware bug but could you help me to get it fixed?
best Regards
Lukas
It could be empty battery (but voltage level is not high enough to start charging).
Check with flashtool can you enter flash mode or fastboot mode (if you can, then it's probably empty battery)
If you can, check voltage level of battery with voltmeter.
It can be that motherboard is dead, but to be sure, you must know what is voltage level of battery.
For now, try leaving it charging, it might take some time (few hours or more) to actually start charging...

If battery have 0 volts then it's dead and (most likely) can't be charged anymore. You need new battery, so you can know is motherboard is working or not.
But that is just my opinion, and i could be wrong...
Maybe to try and charge battery from external source of 5V power , easiest way is cut some usb cable or take two wires from PC's molex connector (red is +5V, black is GND) and charge it for shortly (about 30sec-1min) and measure does it have at least 3.2V. Repeat short charging untill it does. If it stay on 0V then is dead for sure.
I was really able to charge the battery over a cut USB cable. I got it to boot until lookscreen (digitizer does not response) but then the battery turned hot and the Xperia shut down. I ordered now a new battery then it should work again

Digitizer not working could be faulty slider-flex cable or simply software error due overheating. You'll know with new battery...

Yes, that's slider flex cable.
But wait untill you get new battery. Then you'll know does it have more problems or it is working normally
Sad News, today I got the new battery and i was even able to boot up the phone, but like the last time i was able to boot it up the battery and the mainboard got hot. I think the loading circuit is broken. So there are two options 1. buy a external charger for the batterie or 2. sell the phone as rarely used on ebay
No really I´m selling it, even if i get a charger theres also the problem with the not working digitzer. Thanks for your Help but this is ways to big for me.

Sorry to hear that. Obviously problem is much bigger and hard to tell what is wrong without some proffesional look into it (lot of reasons for phone to get hot by itself - there is short circuit somewhere and that's why it's draing battery fast and causing overheating). I don't think external charger will solve problems.
Anyway, good luck :good:

Yeah i didnt even got the solution yet .But i notice that problem doesn't occur when charging through pc but it charges slowly.I also tried factory reset and even battery calliberation but nothing happened.i will take my phone to care...
HTC desire 816, ! mark while charging.
Experiencing same issue. Tried different charger, no help.
I dont prefer pc charging as its slow and phone discharges quickly.
Any workaround or any solution?
Sounds like some fault in the battery circuit that is limiting charging current. I think a PC uses anywhere from 100 mA to 500 mA but a charger or USB port wired to AC outlet can use 1 A or more. I wonder if advanced wiping of cache and formatting internal data would reset it?
are you using Customized ROM or Stock..?
Did you ever figure out a solution to this issue? My phone is doing this exact same thing and it's super irritating.
I bought a new battery to try replacing it and see if that helps, but I am not a phone tech and don't know about taking the back off of this phone to replace the battery. Hoping someone might have a different solution or at least tell me that changing the battery will in fact help (and then I'll go to the trouble of doing it).
ETA: My phone hasn't been rooted or anything. Was working completely fine. Still works fine except for this charging issue.
It's not that hard to remove the back cover. The plastic is very durable so you can't really break anything. I think there is a youtube video and a few descriptions here on xda. Basically you start @ the SDcard slot using some sort of pry tool to pop the plastic cover off as you go around the phone. Just beware that they use a lot of sticky tape on the bottom half of the phone so it takes a bit more effort to get the cover off. I used old credit cards for my pry tool. Some cut up into strips and other time a whole card to break the sticky tape connection.
Charging Problem
i am having same issue since last day....
i tried full wipe and installed a new ROM and it still having the same issue....
i m out of warranty and any way to fix this issue other than HTC official service..?
I have the same problem. Did anyone find a solution? Would a battery replacement solve this frustrating problem?
