Do somebody know this problem and could tell me whats could be wrong?
I have already send it to an supporter and i hope it will be repaired for free, (warranty) But if not is there a difference between the display and the Touchscreen? I saw a webshop where both was salling?!
Soory fpr my bad bdab english...

Yes, there are two parts, the LCD Display, and on top of that the Touch Screen.

You can get a new LCD Screen for £50 on eBay, a Digitiser (the bit on top that makes it 'touch') for £7, or both together for £30. (Dont ask why the prices dont make sense).

Yes thank for that answers...
I have found a Shop that offers both.
http://www.pda-square.de/PDA-Zubehoer-HTC-Artemis-P3300_c7-15-492_x1.htm
The Display for about 100 € (EURO) and The Touchpad for about 80-90 €
Could both be defective or is that improable?
Edit:
I'm stu..... When the Display shows just these stripes ist the display defective. A Touchscreen shows never pictures... *boing*

you will know if the Digitiser doesnt work, because u wont be able to tap on anything, or it will be in a random place (usually due to a crack in it).
if its just the screen going dodgy, i would think its just the LCD display. They are a hell of a lot easier to change as a complete unit (LCD + Digitiser), but it is possible to just change one.
The touch screen is clear, it just picks up where u poke it.

Yes its dosn't look easy with these fine connection tapes and they must lay exactly on top of each other... But i have no fear to damage it... finally i have learnt to deal with something like that in my job... I hope so
I hope that i will not damage the Chassis, it look a litle bit difficult to open it and im not a "precision mechanic"

100 euro? that expensive?
I've ordered a LCD + Digitiser for the eten x500 for $74.52 ( +- 55 euro).
It will be arriving tomorrow, and it has been advertised as T-Mobile MDA compact III LCD Screen&Digitizr TD028TTEB1.
The price includes tools to open the casing (without scratching it), and a screenprotector + shipping!!!
It's not from Germany, but still worth a try..
GL

tool to open the case... lol its just a few clips, a small screwdriver works well! its fairly easy, just take ur time and make sure u find all the places each bit is attached

Off course it's possible to open the casing with a small screwdriver. But if you use a smal screwdriver, there will be too much presure from the tip.
It was a bit difficult to open the thight casing of the x500 without leaving a few marks behind on the paint or bending the plastic. Anyway I was just explaining that you can get a complete package for just under 60 euro.

yeh sounds good. I wish i had found the guide to taking it apart before i did too... could have been useful!

Are there any benefits to a curved screen?

Like the Nexus S, this phone has a curved screen. I have always wondered - is this just a gimmick or are there any real benefits to it?

I never owned a Nexus S, but the contour screen is also on Sony Vita(I think), and Contour looks better IMO.
http://pocketnow.com/android/what-is-the-contour-display-on-the-nexus-s
Supposedly its stronger by nature and crack resistant. Not crack proof. Resistant. I can see where its stronger but the crack resistance i can only see being if you dropped on the top or bottom of phones and that energy can be transferred/absorbed or whatever in the slight flexibilty curved glass has compared to flat glass. If you dropped on the side or something directly on the glass methinks you might poop your pants if the worst happens.
I voided my warranty and your nexus.
Curve means it conforms to the contour of your upper thigh and butt cheeks....handy when you put it on your front and back pockets respectively.

Also when you hold it against your ear.
just something else to put on the spec sheet
I'm not sure about crack resistant. I would guess that when you drop a phone flat on it's face, a flat screen would spread the impact to the entire screen, while a curved one would not; less surface area, which is a disadvantage.

But if you drop it on it's end (I imagine more likely with the thicker bottom-end on the Prime) I would expect it to flex and better absorb shock than a flat screen.
when I got the nexus s I thought it was a gimmick but I like that when I lay my phone screen down on a flat surface the screen doesn't touch because of the curve. Also, I don't know if it makes the screen crack resistant, but I've dropped my S more than I'd like to admit without a case or screen protector and no cracks...
Mostly, its probably a preference/gimmick thing. IMHO
I've owned the Nexus S, I don't know from a structure point of view, a curved screen is any better, but I do like how the phone hugs my face when i talk on it, and the thicker chin at the bottom makes it a lot easier to grab the phone out of my pocket, because you have something to hold on to.
MobilePhysicsReview ran a study after Nexus S.....If you drop it and it lands on the the top or bottom it actually bounces right back up into your hands.
I imagine this curved glass also helps disstort light reflexes making it easier to use in bright light. This is nothing i can confirm, it's just a thought

If you google for the new Nokia E9 you will see that a not perfectly flat screen can look great. Its getting great reviews, but its all just the looks.
Well one thought I had (just speculating) is that when you use the speakerphone and put the phone on the table, the curve will allow the speaker output on the back to sound better because it's not directly against the table surface?
Thats a good thought but the backs of these phones still tend to be generally flat. The atrix speaker is angled outward a little and helps reflect a little bit of the sound but away from the user.
I voided my warranty and your nexus.
It may give you a nice feeling as you are holding a landline phone when making a call..
If I remember correctly Google advertised the curved screen with to major advantages.
1. Better ergonomics while you're doing a call or sharing a little bit love with your phone.
2. It reduces the reflections by 75%. But the website isn't clear about this point it could be because of the glas but it could also be because of the screen itself.
I found the Swiss version of the page. Here's the quote and the link. Unfortunately it's on German so you have to trust me or use Google Translation.

The Nexus S is manufactured by Samsung and is the first smartphone of the manufacturer with a slightly concave curved 10.2 cm (4 inch) display. In this way, it is not only good in the hand, but nestled comfortably on the phone to the face.

Nexus S doesn't have curved screen it's just the glas.
I don't know yet if it is the same case with the Galaxy Nexus.
I heard women get turned on when they see a phone with a curved screen. Only time will tell...
it also stops the screen from scratching when you have it lying screen first on a table or something

Two weeks ago I fell and hit my smartphone snow. Today I found it and I thought that I will not work. I started my parts and it dried up. But it has started to stain the display. My question is how to get rid of them?

Probably water damage. If so the best solution would be to remove the aluminium back cover and put the device in a bowl of drie rice. Let it sit there for a day or two. It is your best bet to remove the remaining moisture.
Goed luck.

This happened to me as well, I still currently have the spots in the bottom corner of my screen, in cold weather it gets pretty annoying because the display shadows and there is loads of motion blur, the guys at the shop explained that a simple LCD change will fix this problem (as predicted)

Screen edge has a slight yellow tint

Hi,
I've gotten my Pixel C earlier today, and I've noticed that one of the screen edges (the bottom edge if you place the camera at the top) has a very slight yellow tint.
It's not very noticeable, but enough that right now while writing this, if I look at Chrome's actionbar, the "back" button looks a bit more yellow than the "forward" one.
I've had similar problems with the two Nexus 7 that I've owned, so I wonder if it's an unavoidable problem that all tablets have to a certain extent, or if my unit is defective and I should ask for a replacement.
Is anyone else having this problem?
Thanks in advance.
I got this too. This is some glueing issue I believe. I didn't ask for a new one.
I have it to
I don't have that.
Not seeing any issues on mine, everything is uniform, no light bleed, etc.
Ordered mine 5 days ago.
I had the yellow tint and some back light bleed (very tiny amount). After using it for a few days it has gone away, probably just the adhesive needing to cure. In my case it also probably helped the seal for the back light as well as both are gone now .
Originally purchased my 64gb model from Google about a month ago. Used it for a week, yellow tint never went away. Its not super obvious most of the time, but on a white background, such as chrome, it was becoming quite annoying. No light bleed though, which is great.
Was also not happy with very noticeable color shift when viewed off axis. Especially on a large screen tablet. The display was otherwise very nice. Just a shame with issues such as that on a top end gadget...
In either case, it was returned, as there is no "exchange" via google. Which also meant no shipping refund. Lame. I haven't bought another yet.

Decided to order another Pixel; this time ground shipping. But it has the same issue. Except this one also has a line in the middle of the screen that shows up on darker images. I was considering living with the yellowish tint at the bottom (in landscape), but now with the line... nope.
Really sucks, as it's an otherwise likable tablet. No light bleed, descent build quality, no wi-fi issues, everything is fast, etc. Now to decide if I roll the dice on a 3rd or move on.
Same problem with my device. Yellow tint at the lower part (landscape). Hoped it will disappear over a couple of days but nothing happened. Will return.
Got the same problem and find it quite annoying, especially while browsing the web or using the on-screen keyboard. I just talked to a Google Store customer service agent and he agreed to RMA. What I was especially concerned with was that I explicitly did not want a refurbished device, which he said it would not be. I have to say I feel quite ambivalently about the whole thing, since at first he sounded sceptical as if the whole thing was imaginary but then sent me a standard email which stated that a certain variation up and until 1/3 of maximum brightness was normal. So, I'm curious to see how the 2nd device is going to be and whether I'd have to trade a "faulty" screen for clicking, creaking or other issues.

So the email from the Google rep was stating the yellow tint was normal until 1/3 brightness? I still notice a bit on mine and it's only noticeable on whites but nothing else thankfully. I'm on my second pixel the first one actually had a cluster of dead pixels on the display. Now it's slight yellow with virtually no light bleed.
Yes, the Google rep told me to leave it at maximum brightness, with adaptive backlight disabled, for at least 30min on a bright white screen. I told him I did not believe there was a software solution to what I believe is a hardware issue but still gave it a try. Obviously, it didn't work, not in the least. Maybe someone knows more than I do about how the glue, screen, matrix, etc. work together, but I don't like the thought that I should have to "burn in" a display, since it should work right out of the box. I also don't like companies trying to tell me that this is supposed to be a feature and not a failure.
So the email stated:
Please perform the following steps, in order to verify, whether the discoloration of your screen is within an acceptable range.
1. Go to Settings>Display>Brightness.
2. Set brightness to 1/3 of the maximum brightness.
If the discoloration subsides at 1/3 of the maximum brightness, the color range of your device is well within acceptable limits. Please consider that a slight discoloration is normal. In case the discoloration persists at a higher brightness level, please get back to us.
I've got the same issue. Had the tablet for 3 days now. Can I expect it to fade with use? Bottom bezel landscape mode.

I don't think so. The RMA device I got was perfectly homogenous, although the whole diplay had a yellow tint. Also the coloured light bar was not properly fit into the chassis and one end was "hanging" into it. The customer agent was very helpful and said that I did not want to know, nor could he tell me his personal opinion about the device. I ended up returning them both, since I expect perfection from such a premium device. Plus, it should not fall to the customer to "burn in" a device. I recommend you run the 3DMark Slingshot 3.1 benchmark and when completed open Chrome and look to where the processor (middle left) is situated. You'll see a bluish spot from the heat which goes away over time. But who knows, maybe it's going to stay at some point?
Wow this doesn't inspire confidence. I knew I was taking a gamble with the pixel bugs and all but I never heard anything about the yellow screen issues. Will they RMA or try to pass it off as normal?
Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk
Curiously, I never experienced a single software issue! That's what I was prepared for and what I could have stomached, as this could easily be remedied by a software update. I don't think they'd give you a hard time RMAing it; I read that some people RMAed theirs 5 and more times. (It's actually crazy that a company would do that, rather than to admit that they cannot solve the issue.) You could also bargain for a small refund, most easily granted when given as a Play Store voucher! If you don't have the keyboard yet, maybe a discount might make the flaws palatable for you?
Software wise my Pixel C was solid. Hardware wise the screens issues were unforgivable on such a expensive device. Going through the procedure of RMA is a headache, makes me not want to buy from the Playstore anymore.

I've got the same thing. But its livable as most the time its just the keys with the black bar..I got mine second hand with the keyboard so not going to try and get a new one as everything else is perfect. Plus its my 4th one. I bought my first 3 all brand new from Curry's. All of them had atleast one dead pixel

Question Questions about EU version

Hello!
Could owners of the EU model tell me that does it have VoLTE?
What is the security patch version? Does it really only have november patch?
Can the screen display hdr videos (like on YouTube) or it really does not have official hdr support?
Oh and does it have preinstalled screen protector?
*I can't find the settings to VoLTE only VoWIFI but carrier dependent in my country.
*YES November patch but Play Store updated to January
*How do I know if it's playing HDR vids on YT?
*It has pre installed film protector. I removed it and put official Red Magic 8 Pro Tempered glass
Hi
I own the EU Model and live in Switzerland. I bought it on AliExpress.
In the Status bar, it tells me that VoLTE is active. Also, HDR Videos on YouTube show up as for example "2160p60 HDR" in the quality options. As far as I know, the Phone has HDR10 decoding, but the Screen can't officially display it. Mine also has a November patch and mine also came with a preinstalled plastic film protector, which I removed.

I heard that there is no official HDR certification, however when you play a HDR YOutube video will it display as intended or visibly it is the same as a non HDR video ?

As I cannot compare the Video with and without HDR, I can't tell for sure. However, the video looks very good on this display, and compared to my OnePlus 8 Pro which has HDR certification, there's hardly any difference notable. The OnePlus goes slightly brighter, but that's because of the display itself.
Question: Why is HDR YouTube so important to you? There's not much HDR content available anyway.

Hi
I also applied official REDMAGIC tempered glass protector and the protector have o black frame and it seams that this frame is slightly to wide. You can see that there are light up pixels under that frame. If something is displayed on the edge of the screen it can even cut it. Also I have a feeling that it is harder to swipe from the edges of the screen. I know that we still have the full screen experience but without the official glass protector it is even more WOW.
P.S.
I dropped my phone yesterday and glass protector broke and saved my precious phone. Thanks to myself that I ordered two during phone order.
