ActiveSynC via Bluetooth? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

Anybody plz help me setup activesync via bluetooth...I am using k rom 1.30a full and bluesoleil 5.05...I could use activesync in default microsoft stack but that is just too crappy to be used ...the problem lies in activesync com port selection dialogue box ....it doesnt show the serial comport that blusoleil is using(com 24)in my case...Any body know how to make (com24) available in the activesync?
I will be very much thankful

Try using Widcomm bluetooth software and get the ISSCBTA driver.
Im using it and it works quite well. here is a link to a great guide:
http://www.telusplanet.net/public/wladykad/

This works for me:
Determine the local (PC) virtual serial port. For Toshiba Bluetooth stack (my case) went to: from Start -> Control Panel -> Bluetooth Local COM which Com port the “LocalCOM-Server[SerialPort]” is assigned to (in my case COM7),
Open the Registry Editor in Vista and go to: HKEYLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services\ and change the SerialPort from “Bluetooth” to the assigned COM port you found before (like COM7)
That’s it. Now reboot (dont' skip rebooting, otherwise it will not work) your PC and create a new Bluetooth partnership (I’m always initiating it from Windows Mobile). Should appear now ActiveSync.

Suddently can't Sync with Vista

Dear All,
My Hermes suddently can't sync with my PC. I don't remember when is the last time it could sync with PC (either before upgrading to Vista service pack 1 or before repairing the flexible cable of my Hermes)
All contacts, calendar, Task, and notes on my Hermes gone and can't be sync with PC which contain all of these.
I've tried to connect-disconnect Hermes, reinstall windows mobile Device Center for Vista 32 bit, soft reset Hermes --> still the same, can't sync.
Every time connection between Hermes and PC on, Windows Mobile Device Center turns to "Error" or "connected" with "Set up your device" link.
Every time I click the "set up your device", It stop while "setting up partnership" at 45% with message "Changes to syncronization settings with Server ActiveSync could not be made at this time". After I click OK on the pop up message, it goes to neverending syncing mode.
Thank you for your help.
Hermes:
Windows Mobile 6.1
ROM version : Pays ROM
ROM date : 11/06/07
Radio version : 1.47.00.10
protocol version : 32.80.7020.20H
PC:
Windows vista home premium
Service pack 1
I have the same problem. even redid my whole computer. I am running vista ultimate. I tried several roms that worked before but no success.
@cloud_kjo
Did you try to uncheck "USB to PC" in the settings/connection? Did you pair your phone with your PC and try syncing with Bluetooth? also, run a disk cleanup on your PC...if that does not work than try a different rom.
I have had simular problems with some roms. I found that that after flashing a Rom, I set up the time and put my name in the owners information, then I pair my Bluetooth and then sync my phone. If after flashing a new rom and I set up a lot of programs, most of the time it will not sync and I get an error.
also there is system restore on your PC .
Hope that helps
@jamal1782 Bummer, What did you redid? First I would uninstall and then reinstall WMD 6.1, then I would run a disk cleanup, run ccleaner, Flash a wm 6 oem rom and see if that will pair and sync...if you still have that problem, change USB ports, also look in Device Management and see if any USB ports are corrupted. Maybe you have a short in your USB connector
Here is a link that might help out...http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsMobile/ShowForum.aspx?ForumID=1762&SiteID=65
Dear Pumpiron579 thanks for your advise.
Have done the steps. Finally, the final solution is to re-flashing the hermes with another ROM. However because the stupidity of me, I forgot to back up the SMS messages content from my hermes. Now I lost all of them.
Is there is any way to recover the SMS?
Thanks.
Cloud, which ROM did you choose?

Try running this file http://toril.ru/pda/akrndisadd.exe on your phone. It works every time my phone stops synching.
Geoff
All I do when this happens is delete the Windows CE Services"folder" under the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ tree of the windows registry.
If that fails, check this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2806941&postcount=2
Look People I was suffering from the same problem for a week and finally I found a solution for it

WM6.1 & Modem Link -Need BIGTIME help

I do helpdesk support and I am on call frequently. We use PCanywhere to connect to our clients servers.
When I had WM5 I could just click modem link and choose activate, open PCanywhere, right click my remote & go to properties, select HTC USB modem.
PCanywhere would then use my phone as a USB modem and connect to the remote site. Now I am using Faria's 6.1 (which has the WM5 modem link & internet sharing) and I can not use my hermes as a modem no matter what I do.
All of the directions I have found are how to tether/internet via modem link. I want to use it as an external modem. Please Please help if you have been through anything like this.
oh yeah, FYI I am able to tether via internet sharing just not use the hermes as an external modem.
Hi,
are you looking for the Modem Link/Internet Sharing?
If yes, use the attached cab files.

starbase64
Thanks for the reply. I already have Modem link and internet sharing built into the faria clean 6.1 ROM. My issue is that it no longer works like it did in WM5.
I am trying to use my hermes as a modem for my laptop to connect to a remote modem via PCanywhere.
Maybe its the ROM! Did you try this with any other ROM's?
I have not tried it with another 6.1 rom but it worked with the factory wm5 rom. I love this ROM and I am trying to hold off on trying another one until Schapps comes out with his new one.
Oh well for now I am pulling a rube goldberg. I am tethering using internet sharing and then aventail vpn into my network, then vnc into a desktop here, then using PC anywhere to connect to my remote server.
How did you get pcanywhere to install on WM6.1? I have dcd's rom and pcanywhere v3.0 will not install, only v2.0 will.
Can you offer any help?
I gave up. I now just use Logmein and use my desktop to connect to the pcanywhere host.
Though the topic is almost two years old, it still serve my purpose today! Thanks a million for the cab files (HTC modem Link and internet sharing)
configuring both the laptop and the cellphone for the Internet connection, and finally, initializing the connection. Once you’ve completed steps 1 and 2, you’ll never have to do them again. The next time you want to access the Internet with your cellphone you simply “redial,” and you’re online. This particular setup is based on the HTC manufactured series of windows mobile devices. In my case I still use the now-ancient HTC Cingular 8125, however these steps work for the later models (and most Windows Mobile devices will also be similar).
Step 1: Getting Things Ready
The first thing that you need to do before you can establish a laptop/modem connection is to kill the current application that’s handling communications between your laptop and cellphone. In my case, I’m running ActiveSync, so I kill that process using the Task Manager.
laptop wireless internet access
For ActiveSync, you just find wcescomm.exe and kill the process. If you’re particular Windows Mobile device uses another application, you’ll need to find the process name and make sure that you kill it. Secondly, you’ll need to also shut down the communications software on your phone. In the case of ActiveSync, in Windows Mobile you go to Start -> Settings -> System -> Memory -> Running Programs, and then if ActiveSync is listed you’ll need to stop the process.
mobile internet
Once you’ve stopped the communications software on both the laptop and Windows Mobile phone, you’re ready to establish the connection between the laptop and phone as an Internet modem.
Step 2: Connecting The Cellphone As a Modem
The only real configuration required in Windows Mobile in order to set up your device as an Internet modem is to enable the “Modem Link.” The Modem Link configuration can be found by going to Start -> Programs.
mobile internet
Once you’re inside the Modem Link configuration, just change the Connection setting to USB. It’s likely that your other settings are already configured, however if they are not just make sure that the Access point name has the name of the connection you configured on your mobile device for Internet access. When everything looks good, click “Activate” at the bottom, and the “Status” at the top should change to “Active.”
mobile internet
If your device is already connected to your laptop, you’ll get the “Found New Hardware” wizard pop-up immediately. If you’re not yet plugged in, then now’s the time to do it.
wireless internet for laptop
Just make sure that you select to install from a specific location so that you’ll have the option to manually select your driver file. Click next.
wireless internet access
On the next screen, you’ll click the browse button and go to the folder where the driver file is located. In my particular case with the Cingular 8125, and for most HTC mobile devices, you’ll need the USBMDM.INF driver file as well as the HTC USB Modem Dialer application. Both are offered as a free download from xda-developers.com. Download the zip file and put them wherever you’ll remember. Then in the Windows Wizard screen above, browse to the directory where you extracted the INF file. If your Windows Mobile device is non-HTC, check with the manufacturer for a USB modem driver for your device.
laptop wireless internet connections
The Wizard will recognize the device. Depending on your particular device and the version of the driver, you may see the error message above. Just click “Continue Anyway.”
wireless internet connection
Finally, the driver’s installed and you’re ready to start using your new Mobile USB Modem anytime you want to, and anywhere you have a cellular signal!
Step 3: Initializing the Internet Connection
To establish your new mobile Internet connection using your laptop, run the executable that you downloaded from the link above. Regardless of your device or your cellular carrier, you’ll typically always need to enter a User Name and Password. You can access that information (if you don’t already know it from setting up Internet use on your mobile device) by contacting your cellular provider and asking for the User Name and Password to use with your Internet data plan.
wireless internet access
Enter those details into the USB modem dialer, and after a few moments it’ll inform you that you’re now connected. Yes, that means that at this moment, even while you’re sitting in the middle of the lake with a fishing pole in one hand, your laptop is now connected to the Internet via your cellphone signal. It may not be lightning fast – but when you’re desperate to submit your latest article (or check on your team’s latest game results), sometimes such a connection is all you need.

[Q]Activesync problems

hello there, this forum is great and it helped me a lot, but now i have again a problem:
I'm using an acer aspire laptop (without bluetooth) so i recently bought a Bluetooth usb dongle... and now i would love to connect my HD via bluetooth to my laptop using activesync, but I've some problems...
the situation on my laptop:
the bluetooth dongle installed successfully and is working (I can send and receive files via bluetooth)
the situation on my HD:
it detects my laptop and connects to it very well but when i try to connect via bluetooth in the activesync progg (on my HD) it gives me an error:
(I have a dutch device so i will try to translate the message)
"Could not find an existing bluetooth connection with a pc that supports activesync. would you like to create one?"
"Yes" -- "No"
if i click no it closes the message.
And when i click yes it redirects me to the bluetooth settings (then i go to the devices tab and there i find my laptop when i tap on it, it opens the settings and in the list i see activesync checked)
so whats the problem ... or what do i wrong
can some one please help me ... please i need it,
or better is there an alternative activesync... (already searched the web but no results)
A BIG THAANXZ TO ALL OF YOU
sorry for my bad English
ps: i use the original rom of htc and i use vista (so wmdc)
(whoa over the 90 views and no answer? )
oke now i am sure... it's the HTC's fault , cause i tried to connect my HTC Apache (with an older rom.. and an older version of activesync mobile) via bluetooth and it worked like a charm!
[first connected it with usb cable to set up a profile then disconnected it.
opened activsync (on mobile) Menu -> connect via bluetooth -> set a new partnership -> found the pc and connected ! ]
but with the touch hd it says that there are no pc's that support a bluetooth connection via activesync...
so does any one has a cab for activesync (an older version or a newer that works)
(or cloud some one tell me how to get the activesync (cab) on the appach and then install it on the htc)
thaanxz
why is there no response? is it so difficult?
Problem solved ThanxZ 4 nothing this time -.-
if any one has the same problem i can help

Windows Sideshow

When I try to install Windows Sideshow I get the following errors:
1. A problem has occurred with tmarshaller.exe
2. A problem has occurred with shell32.exe
When I click these errors away the installation is finished, but then my device doesn't respond to anything.
After a soft reset I can start Sideshow, but even when the device has a bluetooth connection with my computer it gives the following message:
"Make sure that this device is paired with the PC over Bluetooth and that the PC is turned onn and within range.
If this problem persists, wait a few minutes and try again."
When I remove the application and reinstall it again I get the same problems.
Anyone know what I can do to make it work?
Using Windows Sideshow on Xperia X1
Hi, I can't help with the error codes but I have successfully loaded Windows Sideshow onto my Xperia X1 and can see information from my Desktop PC.
Background info:
PC Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Xperia Operating System: Energy ROM based on WM 6.5.3
The steps I took were to install my USB Bluetooth adapter but install using the Standard Bluetooth stack drivers that are built into Windows 7, create a Pairing between my X1 and PC so i never need to input a code when transferring data.
I then installed the Windowssideshowforwindowsmobile.cab and .NetCF V2.cab to my X1 (Install to Device and not storage card)
then go to control panel on your PC and under Devices you should see your Phone/PDA listed - access the settings option by right clicking and go to the 'Services' tab, select all Bluetooth services by putting a Tick into the box.
I had options for Activsync over bluetooth and windows sideshow.
then on your Phone/PDA start the Sideshow app and select connect.
to add new apps/gadgets to your device go to Control panel/windows sideshow.
Hope this Helps.
