I would check the start menu folder, see if the shortcut is still in there for some reason. If so delete it.

Softkey Changer

I made a little Cab file of the Softkey Changer App I found somewhere in an Extended Rom.
Since there are a lot of people who want to change the softkeys.
Enjoy
what does it do? Is it to change application in the main (today) softkeys?
or can it also change softkey in other applications such as Outlook Mobile?
Thanks in advance.

I too am confused. Isn't there already an option to change whatever application we can launch using the soft key buttons by going to the system settings?
This application is not standard in every Rom.
If you don't have it in your Rom, you can add it now.
Yes you can assign every program to one of the softkeys.
sharky48 thanks for this fantastic thing. I use to have some other one, bu this is just perfect.
Thanks again

This one is much better:
- It allows to select any application whereever the application is.
- Allows to rename the Soft Key Display Name
- The applet can be put on any Tab (Personal, System or Connections) of Settings
Cheers,
.Fred
ps.: the only disavantage is that the size of the applet is 63k against the 18k of yours

You need to unzip the file and copy the applet file to \windows folder then perform a soft reset.

Thanks for the explaination. Appreciate it.
Does anyone know of a way to access call history using the softkeys, or even the hard keys?
On my old C500 i think there was an executable somewhere which opened call history, and it was possible to point a button at this, can't seem to find one on the hermes though.

Thanks! Does anyone has these files: tnsms.exe (for "New SMS" command) and tnmms.exe (for "New MMS" command) in folder: My Pocket PC\Windows\ ? Couldn't run softkeys for "New SMS" or "New MMS".
Thanks again!
so i got the app working but on WM6 even though i changed the soft key in the program on the today screen the right soft key still says menu
what should i try to change that?
also how do i edit the names so instead of it saying messaging for the left soft key it becomes Messaging with a capitol?

There should be an option there to rename it. Just read it carefully. It should be at the top.

wow thanks im stupid.
however still i cannot change the right soft key, even though i have a program selected in the program, on the today screen it still wont change from Menu
So I changed the right soft key to new sms and it didnt work, so I changed it back to Calendar but now it gives me an error:
HTCCalendar.exe
The file "HTCCalendar" cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.
This is using the former file (soft key changer.zip) not applet.
Even resetting doesnt help.

Soft Reset Application

Does anyone know of an application that lets you preform a soft reset on a WM smartphone?
I know that Facade does it, but I am not using Facade. Thanks.
Celetask also has the feature.
Trianglepowers has a reboot button that you don't have to open a program to get to. Just click the icon and viola, your device restarts.

Wow, man thanks! They have some cool stuff here.
I use SmartToolKit for my soft resets. It is not a good as not having to open an app to do it but I can stor it on my SD Card and oly open it when I need to do a soft reset. It also has some other nice features.
Here's a simple one from PHM. Just unzip and put the exe file in your start menu folder. This one prompts you, but I think you can make a shortcut with the -silent flag to do an unprompted reboot.

Auto Wifi On At Power Up ?

Quick question because I've googled around and on here an it seems this can only be done by an app from the home screen when its started... at least that seems the recomended way.
Is there a patch or a reg setting to switch it on automatically after a power on / reboot ?
TIA
Terran

[TUT]How to replace start menu icons

i no longer have this device but willing to help
TO CHANGE START MENU ICONS
SKILL: EASY
TIME: 10 - 20 MIN
YOU NEED RESHACKER
PULL THESE .dll FROM YOUR PHONE
oemicons.dll
SP_ProgramIcon.dll
SM_ProgramIcon.dll
FolderIcon_SP
BEFORE YOU START MAKE SURE YOU BACK THOSE FILES UP
JUST OPEN RESHACKER AND OPEN ONE OF THESE FOUR DLL'S EXPAND ICON GROUP AND RIGHT CLICK ON THE ICON YOU WANT TO CHANGE HIT REPLACE RESOURCE AND LOOK FOR THE ICON YOU WANT AND PRESS REPLACE SAVE THE .DLL'S PUT THEM IN \Windows RESTART AND YOUR DONE
TO REPLACE THESE ICONS YOUR IMAGES MUST BE .ICO
THE MAIN ONE U GOT TO CHANGE ARE IN SM_ProgramIcon.dll SP_ProgramIcon.dll AND FolderIcon_SP
oemicons.dll HAS A FEW ICONS LIKE CALL LOG BUT IT WORTH IT TO CHANGE
EVERY ICON IN THESE FOUR .DLL'S THAT WAY WHEN YOU PUT THEM IN YOUR PHONE EVERY ICONS IS CHANGED

Adb command for hide icon to statusbar dont working

Good morning, I'm trying on my s20 to hide the icons in the status bar with adb command:
Code:
adb shell settings put secure icon_blacklist bluetooth
it does not work, or rather it works until the phone is restarted. Once turned off and on again the icons are visible again.
I have used this code on many phones and it has always worked. This is the first time I have encountered this issue.
Can you give me a solution?
Thanks

Thanks for the information, however, if those apps can hide them there must also be the adb command.
The issue with the adb command I put is that after a reboot the icons are visible again in the status bar.
I would like to understand how to do it using adb also because that app is not available in europe and I would not like to install apps, modules, launchers just to remove icons from status bar.
I await if someone can give me some information about it.
Thanks

No probs ... for Europe there is NiceLock which i also use and it is much more practical than ADB for such things...

I tried nicelock but it must always remain active and cannot hide the cast icon.
But if you restart phone icons remain hidden?

I asked a friend to try another country's s20 and it has the same issue.
I think it's really the 20 or the Oneui 2.1 that doesn't allow you to permanently hide the icons in the status bar.
After the restart they continue to reappear.
Can anyone give me some news or solution?
