I've seen many threads about installing wm 6.1 on different devices.
Had anybody tried it with cavalier?
It seems that Excalibur version of wm 6.1 should be compatible with Cavalier.
Anybody has an experience before I start to rape my own device?

If you try Excalibur WM6.1, you'll end up with an expensive brick!

This is really sad the the Cavalier is the better device than the Excalibur, yet we have no 6.1 Rom. I know there are a million more dashes out there, but how hard would it be for someone to move the 6.1 Rom on the Excalibur board over to the Cavalier?

First of all, to get WM6.1 on our Cavaliers we need to buypass CID lock, which for the moment we can't do as there's no sspl or whatever for Cavalier!
Second, after the first part is done, we need to port WM6.1 to Cavalier which is not easy so basicly we need a developer who has in its possession a HTC Cavalier!

Wow, i can't believe there's not even a hint of development yet. There's got to be some good developer out there who can cook a 6.1 rom for us!
Current problem is CID unlock.only SuperCID can flashing!!

I 've dumped 6.1 for trinity, but there is a provxml that will be check, after costumizing, it blocks on rom splash. I have to investigate for all provxml...

You're saying that you've seen a trinity w/6.1 flashed from factory on it and then dumped it??

no, I'm saying that I ported form the ones for hermes: the "PDAViet" now is on my trinity...

Only Ervius can release a Wm 6.1 rom version.
Fake or not also Schaps will release one for Hermes and so we will wait
for an Ervius's new.

gives an error, file is corrupted
am i missing something here? every screenshot i've ever seen of 6.1 was smartphone.. and pdaviet's announced release still looks exactly like 6, except for what's displayed in the device info screen (unlike the smartphone 6.1 which is pretty different from wm6)

All the pictures of WM 6.1 are from Windows mobile standard edition (Smartphone).

Only few future devices are rumoured to have 6.1 profesional (Touch screen). But no pictures for that any where.

Just wonder if anyone managed to extract pocket internet explorer from the wm6.5 rom vga to wm6.1? I'm using a diamond gsm with a custom rom.

dont know how to or if its possible but having been using various 6.5 roms over the past month or so i find PIE for 6.5 slow, unstable and has problems with the diamond keyboards.

Yes you are right, just thought it might behave a little better as WM6.1. On the BsB WM6.5C rom it was not that bad. I was able to use it properly but because I need the device to be reliable I had to unistall WM6.5 until its official and ported to the diamond. I can see that it came out today so its not going to take that much longer i think!

I'm new here and I just bought a blue angel. I'm thinking to upgrade my Windows Mobile 2003 to WM6 or WM6.1 or WM6.5, but I don't know which one to choose - Which one of then is better and more realible?
I was wondering upgrade to WM 6.1 but I saw the WM6.5 and I really loved the desktop, menus, windows, etc.. but, from what I read, the xplode and sun_dream release are both beta?
I'd like to read first of all the answers for all this questions and then I'll ask for other questions.

most new 6.1 ROMs are stable. 6.5 is good too. I am currently using xplode's 6.5 ROM release 7.1. I haven't tried the others, though. I also used a swampy395's wm6.1, which was pretty good as well. Just read the thread, people will tell you what they think of them.

I tried myself cooking a rom but I almost bricked my n311... so I stayed with WM6.1.

I don't understand why would anyone even want wm6.5 it's just a bloated wm6.1. Wm6.1 was the best winmo they made and if you really want that more iphone like interface it can happen, thee are many 3rd party skinning programs.

As you know the SHADY OEM Microsoft 6.5 Rom is available for htc artemis (there will be demand and need of winmo 6.5 apps for QVQA devices), please post all your winmo 6.5 rom collections apps/games/themes etc here.

Yes it's reliable I have been using it for more than 2 weeks. but it is a bit slow due to processor. also the issue of delay sounds/ringtones, but that has been solved with in this forum.
