wm 6.1 on cavalier

Hi all!
I've seen many threads about installing wm 6.1 on different devices.
Had anybody tried it with cavalier?
It seems that Excalibur version of wm 6.1 should be compatible with Cavalier.
Anybody has an experience before I start to rape my own device?

If you try Excalibur WM6.1, you'll end up with an expensive brick!

This is really sad the the Cavalier is the better device than the Excalibur, yet we have no 6.1 Rom. I know there are a million more dashes out there, but how hard would it be for someone to move the 6.1 Rom on the Excalibur board over to the Cavalier?

First of all, to get WM6.1 on our Cavaliers we need to buypass CID lock, which for the moment we can't do as there's no sspl or whatever for Cavalier!
Second, after the first part is done, we need to port WM6.1 to Cavalier which is not easy so basicly we need a developer who has in its possession a HTC Cavalier!

Wow, i can't believe there's not even a hint of development yet. There's got to be some good developer out there who can cook a 6.1 rom for us!

Current problem is CID unlock.only SuperCID can flashing!!

Is it possible to install PIE from WM6.5 on the diamond WM6.1?

Just wonder if anyone managed to extract pocket internet explorer from the wm6.5 rom vga to wm6.1? I'm using a diamond gsm with a custom rom.

dont know how to or if its possible but having been using various 6.5 roms over the past month or so i find PIE for 6.5 slow, unstable and has problems with the diamond keyboards.

Yes you are right, just thought it might behave a little better as WM6.1. On the BsB WM6.5C rom it was not that bad. I was able to use it properly but because I need the device to be reliable I had to unistall WM6.5 until its official and ported to the diamond. I can see that it came out today so its not going to take that much longer i think!

best windows mobile 6.5 and tfd2 rom

Hi can someone tell me of a rom that has the latest windows mobile 6.5 build and the latest touch flo 3d version 2 and all the usual htc goodies and is also stable and fast (more free memory). i mean its good for everyday usage. there r so many roms that its very difficult to decide and dont have time to test them all.
i think it will help many other people as well!!!

How finger-friendly is WM 6.5?

I'm thinking about upgrading to a WM 6.5 ROM, but the primary reason would be to make use of more finger-friendly versions of the core WM functions. In particular, I'd be interested if the Contact edit and Appointment edit page are any more finger-friendly than in WM 6.1. Could anyone comment on this, or better still upload screenshots of these two screens from a WM 6.5 installation?

Compared to 6.1 is a lot more finger friendly

I've looked in the ROM development forum and there are lots of screenshots, but no shots of those specific two screens (Contact and Appointment edit screens)

We all know that the great rom, Gen Y D2(X) is with the windows mobile 6.1.
But maybe some users like to have the ROM with wm 6.5??
If there are enough people who wants it with windows mobile 6.5 i'll make it for you guys!
So leave your feedback and maybe you got a Gen Y D2(X) ROM with the wonderfull windows mobile 6.5!!

I would be interested in sucha rom! I did make one myself (in dutch) for personal use but i'm not a great cook and the performance of this rom is way behind cuz of my lack of knowledge

I prefer 6.5 for all the obvious reasons. I've tried some 6.5 roms but it ended always coming back to d2(X) - stable, error free, quick as always. Please offer us a 6.5 version.Thanks

ok good, i think many people will like a 6.5 gen rom so i WILL make one. i will start soon but at the moment i really got busy with my school exams. so be patient!! it will come.

the question should be : Who DOESN'T wants Gen Y. D2(X) with wm 6.5
With windows mobile 6.5 you will never get the same performance as 6.1 on diamond.
Limitations in h/w.

and, we need something more, just a little thing, but it can help a lot.
just a little app that allow to quick enable/disable manila when you need more RAM, for example when you want to use Opera or TomTom or some game

Try MortScript ;-) For instance, I use simple combination to run iGO:
Kill ("manila.exe");
RunWait ("\Internal Storage\iGO8\iGO8.exe")
Run ("\Windows\manila.exe")
And I really want to see GenY with 6.5!

preferably without sense/manila. titanium is fine with me. so we get more speed/ram
