follow this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2370527&postcount=10

from what I understand the spl don't differ from the htc one or from other providers. so no need there

Just ordered mines today, apparently there were 50 in stock when i called them, after i ordered mine on upgrade there were 30 left so be quick to get one. They said that it should arrive by 1pm on TUESDAY!!! don't think that i can wait that long. lol
Upgrade details:
MDA COMPACT IV- £99.99
12 Month Contract: £15.00 (100mins +100txt)
Total over contract: £280.00
Tell me if thats a good deal.
Cheers

I will get my T-Mobile Compact IV on next thursday. If nobody else has already graped and uploaded the stock ROM, then I will try to do it. Shoud not be a problem for an IT-er, think so
I also like to have a copy of the stock ROM before trying to install one of the cooked newer ROM from TLR or DPT.
Will also try to grab the stock SPL if possible.
teammee, thanks for the link, I will try to read the manual first

many thanks..

Thanks from me too!
Things like that should really be a sticky, or in the Wiki. I spent ages looking and found nothing, hence my original post!

After finding these, I've already made the jump and tried my 1st rom. Elite 3.0!
Must say I'm pretty impressed after running the stock T-Mobile for 4 days. Now I've got my head round all this I went for it.
There seems to be no definative choice of rom, it's down to personal preference, but after using T-Mobiles V1.37 and Radio .03, I now also upgraded to Radio .05
Both the Elite rom and new radio add up to a far superior phone. Take the leap, it's worth it.
Can't see anyone wanting to go back to the T-Mobile stock rom unless your sending it back under warranty for replacement.
Enjoy!
PS. I've been using Symbian phones for years Nokia 6630, 6680, N80 and finally N95. It took a bit of reading, but once you get your head round it, it's Simple.
PPS. The Elite rom 3.0 also includes all the settings for T-Mobile that runs in a wizard, but if you fancy another rom then you can download a settings CAB file that includes the T-Mobile settings if it's not included in the rom you choose.

And here is the CAB for the T-Mobile settings

As you can see the part00bis.raw is big, but the phone have "Orange navigator" and perhaps the map is in this area. Someone can confirm this ?
I want to upload to FTP but Log/pass xdaupload seems don't work
Orange navigator is not included in the ROM. It's been placed on the 1gb micro sd card bundled with the phone (nice bundle I have to say, since they provide a car charger, a phone/GPS car holder plus what you find in other HTC packs).
On the micro SD, your friend will find a cab that will be auto installed when you insert the card.
It's a shame Orange removed TomTom and only provides their poor navigator.
i know this cab is made to install orange navigator, but, no map ?
For info, i install tomtom 6.020 and a map : works perfectly
Just set the GPS antenna : NMEA 4800 and COM4
Maps are downloaded from orange servers when planning a way to go. That's what makes their home cook navigator so bad imho.
You can also nemea com4 at 9600 bauds. Indeed TomTom works perfectly. I called Orange today to tell them I was kinda disappointed that they removed TomTom from the bundle. They replied that it was made on purpose to only offer a pay as you go AGPS program (aka Orange Navigator). They also added that if customer were not ok with this, they could as well buy TomTom for about one hundred euros. Their policy is quite simple: Pay and shut up. Anyway I already own TomTom but would have loved to get an extra license...
Pharos is an OK phone. Not the best but ok. (I'll probably buy a TyntII by the end of the year or equivalent but got the pharos for free in replacement of a touch). Since I dont use Wifi that much and tought that HTC cube was sometimes a real pain in the neck, the lack of such features is not that bad (I'll rather buy a laptop soon and get a larger screen, decent browsing and so on with wifi).
Final words: Please, please, please admins open a new section for Pharos...

Hello every body

Did someone replace the original ROM form HTC against the one give with orange ?
I saw a Pharos "without operator" and it seems to go faster than mine !!!
For people who want to install SDHC 8Go, i confirm there no problem with PHAROS.

No such beast exists. You are stuck with 6.0 until someone hacks it. But what is wrong with the version you have?

Not exactly wrong. But the existing ROM is simply very BUGGY. It can´t compare to the cooked one I´d installed on my past Loox C550 device. There´d be no end to whatever goes wrong with Wi-fi and Bluetooth, CF card support, power management , general instability of the system, various software incommatiblity issues etc. But so far we have to live with it.

Yup, my 211 is now on the shelf and waiting for an update. My hx4705 is now back in service with Kozura's WM6.1 v5 ROM. I have lost more data with the 211 than ALL the IPAQ's I have used over the years...combined. It is a sad day when the 'development ROM's - not to be used for daily operation' are more stable than the ROM in this new device!
So, I hear that the 21x series bootloader is difficult. Does anyone have details of what the roadblocks are?

Hi,
a friend has an ipaq 214 and has difficulties with the original rom (CF-GPS, Wlan).
Therefore I'm also interested in a 6.1 ROM.
I'll call HP on monday to get support - maybe I should ask them how to get into the bootloader mode (if there is any)?
Is there anyone who could really make WM6.1 rom for 214?
That would really be something...
i'm looking for english rom for hp 214. Can someone upload it?

We need ENGLISH Rom!!! First thing - find rom, bootloader - is next task.
if you tell me how to copy my rom from pda, i can send you

Looks like someone has figured out how to put their Ipaq 214 into bootloader mode. Their page says to hold down the Calendar & Windows keys and then soft-reset.
Any luck with a 6.1 rom for ipaq 2xx yet?

Hi guys,
I just tried out the HTC Touch Pro, aka Raphael today.
it is seemly blazing fast as compare to HTC Diamond/Victor...
I have also found out it has a newer radio as compare to the 1.00.25.3 that we are having on Diamond.
Here are some photos, i will add in the snapshots later of the os later...
here's the link to the dump for part00.raw to part02.raw:

Once i have the pre-release version of the rom, i will upload it. but might takes weeks to months before i can get my hands on it.

wow, you are fast.
give me a minute here.
i am still dumping the rom.
i will attached the screenshots laters, with device info and windows version. btw, its not retail version.
a screenshot of the bottom edge (like the last screenshot above) but side by side would be great, just to compare the depth differneces. ROM and radio versions would be good too!
@ruffruff:
It'd be nice if you could post the dumps on mediafire.
I guess the radio should be compatible with the Diamond's since it's basically the same hardware; did anybody find out how to dump / flash radios on the diamond yet?

hi adwinp,
mediafire will be out of the question as i am in a part of the world where mediafire seems to in-accessible to me. i will try to find a space to upload the parts.
but, is the rom useful in anyway? and which parts are the useful ones? sorry as i am no cooker, just learn to dump roms.

maybe i shouldn't. i will upload part 00 to part 02 as requested.
stay tuned but be patient as my connection ain't that fast.
fs2you is slow
If mediafire isn't available for you, I'd recommend filefactory, zshare or badongo.
You can compress with 7zip (lzma achieves better compression than rar, zip)

Hi bro,
I have uploaded the files to
http://www.fs2you.com/files/a58787a1-4e64-11dd-a84e-00142218fc6e/
I will try your recommendations when i get home.
but in the mean time, please bear with the speed on fs2you.com
one other thing is that, this is not a retail rom.
hopefully it will be useful for the cookers in the xda community.
or else, i will be making a fool of myself and going through meanless hassle to upload the rom
Thanks for the effort.
You are of course encouraged to post any updates.
^.^
ty so much ruffruff, looking forward for some great cooker to combine the advantage from this rom to our DIAMOND rom
If anyone manages to download this, plz upload it to mediafire, badongo, filefactory or zshare.
fs2you breaks the connection after a few Mb's.

Samsung i900 Omnia rom backup help

Hi to all the Samsung experts, I currently have a Samsung i900 and am looking for a way to extract my rom and create a flashable format. I have used pdocread to extract 3 .raw files but am not sure how to proceed from here. Can anyone advise? Thanks.
Hoping that the i780 istruction can be used for the omnia, the relevant posts are here..

Thanks, I have read those threads, problem is you apparently need a flashable .bin to start with which in this case I do not so am looking for a way to use the .raw files only. Do you know if that is possible?

No you don't need the bins, you can start from the raw files.
Just look at the famusc kitchen and read the included instructions.
Ok here is a way to dump the nb file and then dump its contents.I have already done that, including xip
Use itsutils and following command in dos window :
psdread -1 0 0xDISKSIZE os.nb
Then use imgfs tools or tazio tools to dump, and further processing.
We need now how to flash back the custom os.nb to omnia
still searching for sd card flashing combinations
@The Solutor: I have read the famusc kitchen docs and it explicity states you need an existing .bin PDA rom. However there are a few commands in there that may be worth checking out.
@hdubli: I will try the command you suggested later today. What are the tazio tools? And dont Samsung phones use .bin files to flash rather than .nb?
You don't need the bin.
Here step by step:
- Downlad and install the kitchen
- Copy Part02.raw into the kitchen folder
- Open cmd and type: ImgfsToDump Part02.raw (This will create dump folder)
- Execute RecreateBin.exe
You got your bin file!!!!

Do you mean RecreateBin.bat? There is no RecreateBin.exe and looking at the contents of the .bat file I dont think it will work as it makes reference to i780 files which I dont have and most likely wont work with the Omnia.
imgfsfromdump imgfs_raw_data.bin new_imgfs.bin
del imgfs_raw_data.bin
ren new_imgfs.bin imgfs_raw_data.bin
make_imgfs i780.nb0.payload.body -nosplit
merge i780.nb0.payload.header i780.nb0.payload.body i780.nb0.payload
nbmerge -data 2048 -extra 8 i780.nb0 -conservative
yes it is the .bat file sorry.
I780 should just be name of the files that you get at the end...
I can't say if it works you just have to give it a try...
But that would be the way we do it with our i780 roms...
Try and report. You should get a i780.bin file.... otherwise it should stop with an error.

[Q] ROMs and CDMA Diamonds (Telus)

Hello all!
I just got myself the Telus Diamond the other week from Telus up here in Canada. (beautiful little thing) ...but its CDMA. I was curious about all of the ROMs available right now... they're designed for the GSM phones, and I'm guessing they are incompatible with my CDMA diamond.
my question is this:
-Do the Current GSM ROMs work with my CDMA Diamond?
....and if not....
-Is anybody currently working on ROMs specifically for CDMA or Telus Diamonds?
any help or info would be much appreciated!!
hi,
can u tell me how big your battery is ? 900mha or 1340mha ?

Dutty...since you're a MOD, wouldn't it be prudent to have a subforum for the CDMA version of the Diamond? I know it would help me if I owned the CDMA version. I certainly would not want to follow the guidelines in this forum and take a chance on bricking my phone. I used to own a Wizard, and there was a subforum for the G4 version of the wizard (that had different flashing instructions). Just a thought.
Thank you kindly for the quick replies everyone!
For the record, these are the specs for my Diamond:
-Telus Diamond, English, DIAM500
-ROM Version 1.06.661.1 (Jul 21/08)
-Radio Version 0.99.90V
-Battery 1350 Mah (I believe, as this model is somewhat larger than the Euro versions, and has a different 'matte' backplate)
And as for a separate CDMA forum, I think that would be a wonderful idea. I know the version I have just came out last week, and some carriers in the US are going to have CDMA versions as well. I think more and more people are going to start buying this phone, and they'll be a bit confused about trying to install new ROMs etc.
Thanks for all your help folks!

surprised theres not a seperate subforum for the CDMA diamond already. The main forum can be shared, but the ROM sections should be seperate.
I just asked DCD if hes looked at the telus dump yet, hes said hes going to work on diamond and pro already.
It's going to be the same problem here in the US when Sprint or Verizon will ship their version of the diamond (HTC Victor).
I will try to cook one rom for my old Wizard (learning purpose), because if I can't have the benefit of cooked rom, I'm not sure I will choose this model.

Yep, suppose you are the first!
Hey guys,
Yea i definatly think its a great idea, i also just got myself a diamond with telus. as a matter of fact i work for Telus, and if someone came up with a good enough rom, i could/would do some publicity for this website and tell my clients to come here. I installed Diamond Tweaks 0.5, and that worked good, except it crashed my phone when i tried to use the burst mode with the camera hehe...nothing too bad i just had to do a reset. Anyways if someone does come up with a Rom for the CDMA version it would be enormously appreciated!!!
UPDATE!!
Hello Folks!
Good news on the CDMA Diamond Front!
Seems the good folks over at PPCGeeks.com have been working on a HardSPL specifically for the CDMA Diamond!!
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35839
Pavin' the way for some custom ROMs!!
TeluS Diamond ROM Upgrade Questions..
I am new to this forum so I apologize if my questions seem very basic.
1. I have a Telus Diamond and would like to get a ROM update to get the locked featues working - so is one available.
2. What is HardSPL - is something I need prior to an ROM upgrade - or is it part of the ROM upgrade or am I totally out to lunch.
Thanks in advance...
Any updates for the CDMA section of the forum?
youd think so, but not yet.
