ALPINE Bluetooth handsfree profile only activates AFTER a call - PDA2, XDA IIi, 2020i Accessories

Hi All
There is plenty of helpful bluetooth hands free advice in FAQs & searching the forums but nothing specifically for my problem:
My Alpine will pair correctly with bluetooth hands free devices (tried a few) but calls are not transferred to the bluetooth device until AFTER a call has been initiated. To ensure I can make or receive calls via the bluetooth device, I have to firstly make a call. The call doesn't even need to connect - I only need to start & end a call straight away to make the hands free profile active.
This means I need to fiddle about with the 'phone to activate the profile before I can drive off.
The bluetooth hands free devices work fine with other 'phones and the Alpine shows the same problem with whichever hands free devices I try.
Does anyone have any advice about how to ensure the hands free profile gets activated on the Alpine as soon as the bluetooth device connects?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Different Bluetooth Stack?

I've been struggling for several months now to get my MDAC III working with my built-in car Bluetooth hands-free. The full details are below, but in short, I'm told that the system seems to work OK with Wizard, and I'm wondering what about the Wizard could be different to the Artemis (Bluetooth stack perhaps?), and if there is a difference, is there anything I can do about it?
The full issue: The system I'm trying to connect with is in a Land Rover Freelander 2 (LR2 in the US) Initial pairing was a bit hit and miss, but now I've got the the phone paired with the PTI, that's not a problem and they automatically pair whenever I start the car.
I can succesfully initiate or answer a call from the car, but the call itself isn't routed through the car's speakers/mic, it just goes through the phone as normal. However, once in a call if I select the "privacy" option on the PTI (which would normally have the effect I've already got of passing the call to the phone), and then select the "hands free" option, it does what it should and routes the call through the car. Effectively, it's as if the system starts in "privacy" mode rather than "hands free". Once I've done this once, subsequent calls work fine, routing straight through the car, but only until the ignition's turned off. The next time I start the car up I'm still paired, but calls go through the phone again.
If anyone's got any suggestions, I'd really appreciate them.
Thanks!
Try this
Had similar in a BMW...
Try www.jetwaremobile.com
Thanks, did try that but didn't seem to help, it seemed to be more geared towards additional functions like phonebook syncing rather than just getting a working connection in the first place. Maybe I'll give it another go.

Thanks TangerineTractor!
I fixed the problem I have with car kit of OPEL ANTARA using the software you said. It works disable sending Phonebooks.
I am having a similar problem with Wizard Mobile 6 cooked ROM. Before with the official O2 ROM on my Xda Mini S, it worked fine. The car would automatically recognise the phone whenever in proximity, and all calls would go through the speaker.
Now, I have to press the car kit's button (Nokia Bluetooth) each time I get in the car, to tell it to search for devices - i.e. the phone doesn't automatically announce its presence.
So, is there a different Bluetooth Stack we can try?
My Orbit works fine with my Nokia CK-7W using a B&B ROM.
Thanks, and yep that's the same car kit I have.
When you get in the car, do you have to do anything, or does the car kit automatically detect the phone? Mine doesn't since getting the Wizard Mobile 6 cooked ROM.
Do you know what Bluetooth Stack you use, and if I can download it anywhere for the Wizard?
No, just switch on the ignition key and away it goes. Also if the car kit is set as the default hands free if the phone rings it should try to connect to the car kit.
The radio I am using is 2.95.90 I have no idea what bluetooth stack it is, Tom Codin cooked the ROM, he will know.
Okay thanks. Does anyone know if the BT Stack is part of the Radio ROM? If so I'll just try a different Radio ROM.

Faria and Bluetooth with AUDI Handsfree carkit

I have installed the Faria ROM on my Hermes and I can tell I am quite happy with it. Only thing I can't get to work is to use my Hermes with my AUDI built in handsfree carkit. I am able to get connected with it and I am also able to do phone calls, only thing is that there is no access to my phonebook, I also have tried to set the bluetooth to allow remot sim access, but still doesn't work. Does anybody know if there is a nweer bluetooth driver out there? Will be happy for any suggestion.
Thanks

I have Chryslers U-Connect and it accesses my phonebook I put into U-Connect. when connected , I have never been able to access my phonebook from my phone.
@pumpiron, sorry for the silly question, but what is U-connect and where would I get that from?
It comes with Chrysler Products. Check it out...http://www.jeep.com/crossbrand/uconnect/jeep/interface.html
Sorry to bring up this oldie, but I am now having this issue when trying to connect my bluetooth to my Kenwood radio. Downloading is extremely slow. These are the things I used to be able to do before I flash my Hermes with a new WinMo 6.5 ROM:
1. Dial a number through the radio. I now have to dial from the phone.
2. Calls log is not being downloaded. The only thing that shows up is the contacts list.
3. Simultaneous actions. Before the flash I used to be able to dial a number while information was being taken from the phone to the radio. This is no longer the case. I have to wait until info is downloaded before being able to make a call. This also prevents me from answering incoming calls.
Is there anyway to check what version of bluetooth (if any) is on the phone or if there's some type of upgrade?
Appreciate any help.

Use CarPC As BT Voice Gateway

I have a PC computer in my car that I use for many thing and I want to integrate my phone into it by using a Bluetooth voice gateway to play the sound over the speakers in the car and use a mic to talk into. Obviously since this is the Rhodium forum I have a Touch Pro 2 (by Verizon) running OEM ROM. The PC is running XP SP2 with Widcomm bluetooth stack.
Making calls I have no problems. When I'm in range it connects and when I make a call its flawless. The problem is when I get a call. When a call comes in it rings once then answers without me doing anything. And no its not the auto answer feature on a headset (i know that would be the first reply if i didnt say that). The issue is that even though there is a BT link to the PC the voice gateway doesn't connect until in a call. When i make one it connects when i hit send to dial, when i receive a call it connects when it starts to ring and once there is a connection it answers. It would be bad if im driving and someone calls i dont want to talk to or something and it just answers without me knowing.
I tested this theory with my regular BT headset. I had the headset off and I called the phone and once it started ringing i turned on the head set and sure enough it answered.
My question is how do i get it to hold a solid connection all the time like a normal BT headset would? Or make it not answer once a headset is connected?
I tried using the BlueSoleil BT stack also. This one worked ok once everything was connected but every time I came back in range of the PC or turned the PC on I would have to manually connect the voice gateway again.
Thanks for any help!
Edit: oh yea, also I had the same issues with my XV6800 (Titan) and never got it to work right either.
anyone have any ideas on this?
no one on this forum has tried this other than me?

Plantronics 510 Pairing

Long time lurker, first time poster.
I just upgraded to a Rhodium and am busy getting "moved in".
One thing that I can't get working is my bluetooth headset. I have a Plantronics voyager 510s that I used with my Mogul. I love the headset because it switches between my office phone and my cell seamlessly. (At least it has in the past...)
When trying to pair, I put the headset in discoverable mode, go to bluetooth settings and to add the device. It finds the head set ok, but when
I enter the pass key I am told that there is an error and that I should check to make sure that the headset is in discoverable mode. Grrr...
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can offer.
fixed.
Posted a little too quickly... Just sorted it out.
You have to power down the base station (the one that connects to the office phone) and then go through the pairing process.
I'm sure that this this won't come up too often because this is an older system, but I love it. It's awesome to have my office and cell on the same headset. (It's also great for having voice command read personal messages to me while in the office!)
Cheers

[Q] Sync call lists via bluetooth

Hello everyone
I am running the Virtuous ROM and I'm having a small problem. Whenever I try to connect to my Kenwood car stereo (Parrot bluetooth hands-free system, I think) I can make and receive calls just fine, only the call lists don't get synced.
I might be wrong, but doesn't one usually have to give the hands-free permission to do that first? Interestingly enough, the two devices are pairing without any kind of password whatsoever. I find this rather strange and an FTP server aside, I haven't found many options to adjust in the bluetooth settings.
Am I missing something obvious here?
Regards and thank you.
Anybody? Anything?
