but it might not be a good battery with longer life/timespan

I wouldn´t hesitate about price, cheap batteries can be more expensive as you have to replace them more often because lower quality (Not all of course)
Also even "Not so cheap batteries" you can find them in very good deals.
Just my opinion,

that's alwas true if you buy a battery every month for 6 months that's enough to buy a better battery than having to spend 6-7 dollers every month

Mugen Power 3900 mAh battery for t989!

I just checked mugen website and they will have this 3900mAh battery available on 1/20/12. It says battery lasts 2.11 times longer. I am guessing I can OC/performance governor with high brightness setting and use phone moderately/heavily and it will still last all day (maybe not). The case looks pretty decent too.
I emailed them how much thickness it would add and they said about 9mm so the phone will look twice as thicker.
What do you guys think? It's approximately $100 tho.. damn..
$100?!? Lol you can buy THREE OEM batteries and still have a few bucks left for coffee hahahaha...greedy bastards
+1.... I'd rather have my phone last 3x longer than 2.11x longer
Pricey
That sounds awfully pricey.. I recevied my extended life battery from Amazon the other day, it was $13 + shipping.
I can't post the link, but just search for T989 battery on Amazon and you'll find a ton for a whole lot cheaper.
Was looking at Amazon and came across this:

Yup! Thats the one I just received on Monday actually, it works great! Plenty of juice, and the back cover is a perfect fit as well

Thanks for letting us know. What about heating issue.....does this battery heats up more than the original? How much time does this one take to charge up full.
It's essentially double the life of the original (1850mAh vs 3500), generally after a days use of mp3s all day and surfing at work, I would usually have had about 35% left with the original, now I'm sitting around 65% at the end of the day without a worry. Charging is quick, I haven't really noticed a huge difference between the extended and the original.
It is definitely heavier, and the phone is a bit thicker with the new battery and case, but I actually like the extra weight and find it makes it feel more solid when holding it.
Heat-wise, it is no difference.

I've commented on this somewhere already...do you think it is possible to manufacture, build, test and release for sale a good quality product that will have it's market price of 4$ - seller commission to Amazon?
I'll stick with [HLI-T989XL] from Mugen.

Sorry, but I have to say. It's market price is 12.77... did you not read what you quoted? He said he had a gift card so it came out to about 4. Your point is still valid, but you discredit yourself.
For those who say that Mugenpower batteries are over priced, I beg to differ.
I originally purchased a Seidio 2800mah extended battery for my Nexus One and it's performance, even after proper conditioning, was inferior to the HTC stock battery. I then purchased a Mugenpower 3200mah extended battery which gave me a solid 72 hours of use between charges.
I now have the Mugenpower 3900mah extended battery for my GS2x and after the second full charge, the level is only down to 70% 24 hours after being disconnected from the charger.
All extended batteries are not created equal!

1X Gold 2850mah Battery for Samsung Galaxy S3 III

Anyone try one of these?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-1X-Gold...880555?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item4167e42a6b
Made in Japan
Capacity: 2850mAh
Utra-high capacity battery
I'm guessing they are not 2850mah, but given the higher spec they could be closer to 2400mah. Price is a bit more than $8 (2x the el chepo generic ones w/ 2300mah). Less in a bundle of 2-3 w/ charger.
Another seller is listing a similar looking battery with 2430mah but for $15. Maybe the cheaper ones are the rejects.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2430MAH-Hig...979491?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item1e6f290a63
Still no US sellers, so to be safe you could wait till a review or a US seller starts offering them (-> return if they aren't to spec). I took the plunge since I need some spare batteries and a charger.
Man. You gotta be careful with these batteries from eBay.

+1 I always spend the extra cash to get a spare OEM battery. I understand people want to save money and for the most part those batteries arent bad but a lot of times they are not labeled correctly and arent the MaH's that they state they are and you are taking a chance. If you go with a cheap no name it's better to go with a better known no name like anker. But I dont think I would even put the battery you linked into my phone. Stop being cheap and just spend the 25-30 bucks for a OEM battery. After all it is a 600 phone. hehe Consider it like buying a Ferrari and putting cheap gas in it. haha

You need to know what your getting yourself into. Some give you 70-80% of an OEM one at 1/10th of the cost. I buy mine as a back-up when I can't charge (e.g. international air travel) or I'm in a rush. It is so convenient to have one of these in my bag and do a quick swap vs. charging. Been buying ebay batteries for years, some are crap, I normally buy 1-2 when I get my new phone for ~$10. Then wait for the US ones or a forum review where someone finds the correct seller who will give you 80-90% of an OEM at ~$5. The main downside is the lack of NFC, but I don't use that and if I needed it I would swap in the OEM battery.

It's all marketing. Chemically Gas is all the same and there is a standard for it.
Besides I don't have a $600 phone. I paid $220 (incl. tax). minus $120 from retention. minus $100 when I sell my (old free Vibrant). Psst, don't tell anyone, but I'm also doing 1% cashback and $xxx bonus for spending Y in 3 months. So technically I'm making money and should get another $100-150 in 2 years when I sell the S3. The extra batteries will increase it's resale value.
Call me a cheapskate.

Thank you. There is no way I would have found that thread.
I have both of them!
the 2430 mah is supposed to fit as standard OEM replacement, It a little too fat for standard cover, Have to push cover down hard, The 2850 mah is a replacement for the Samsung extended battery It fits extended case, but after testing both, neither one shows any improvement over stock batteries. I am running output and time tests on them both shortly....SAVE YOUR MONEY!
What is the largest and safest OEM battery for S3?

Replacement battery (Original with NFC)

Hi!
I was wondering where I could buy even more batteries for my Galaxy S3.
I did find a battery on ebay for $7 (going to buy 3 or more), but was wondering where I could get it cheaper with free shipping.
I doubt it, but would like to check this forum first
Link on ebay for $7:

That is really cheap. I also am going to guess that it is not full on OEM. The one I ordered was a little different. It said Samsung, but it wasn't. I haven't tried NFC yet.

As far as I can see, the battery doesn't have NFC included in that battery. I think the original battery with NFC cost about $30 if I'm not totally wrong?

I can't see ebay links at work. I was just guessing you were buying from someone like who I purchased from. If it is OEM it has to have NFC. I would go with Anker if I didn't want NFC. They make the best Non-OEM batteries that I've used, although I've heard good things from Hyperion too.
Avoid fake chinese crap
I'm looking for a real samsung battery too, but I wouldn't trust any seller on ebay claiming them to be genuine. Most are from china, and I'd have to guess 99.9% of those would be copies. Amazon lists one as genuine for $25, which sounds about right. but again, I have no clue. Personally I'd like to see and buy one in a local B&M store. unless I knew for a fact I'd be buying a real samsung battery.
I tried a "4200mah" chinese battery, twice as thick, new bigger battery door, etc... CRAP CRAP CRAP. Doesn't even last AS LONG as the factory 2100mah thin battery :crying: JUNK JUNK JUNK.
Today I got 3 batteries from ebay - bought for a very cheap price, less than 15$ in total.
The battery didn't fit properly, I found it hard to get the battery back out. It also said that the battery had NFC, but no.
Seems like it wasn't even Samsung battery, which I tought it was until I saw the label they'd glue to the battery, all the batteries also shared the same S/N: AA1C505BS/2-B.
I haven't been able to test out the actual battery lifetime on the cheap batteries, since I won't be using them anyway because I wan't NFC capabilities.
Stay away from cheap batteries, best way to get a quality product is to actually put some more bucks into the product. Get the "real thing" that works the way it's supposed to do.

WTF?! Anker 1900mAh battery now $48 instead of $10?

What's up with the price change? Is there anything justifying the 470% price increase?????
Other than greed, I mean...
Anker battery, sold by 'authorized seller' on eBay; not even ten bucks:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Anker-1900mAh-Battery-Samsung-Galaxy-S2-II-i9100-/220813288199
Same battery sold by same seller, much MUCH more expensive now:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Anker-1900mAh-Battery-for-Samsung-Galaxy-S2-II-i9100-/330747106855
What's up with that? is it because the I9100 will be "phased out" or something? Isn't there an installed customer base huge enough for these guys to continue selling their batteries at an affordable price? I'm flabbergasted.....
-=-=-=-=-=-= Edit:
After having looked around a bit, to my great surprise, I was able to find this at $9 on Amazon.ca. I was VERY surprised since we, in Canada, rarely get the same deals as in the US... we always get milked with more expensive products, even of our dollar is at par with the US dollar. But this time, the price was the same.
Now the funny thing is, the Amazon.com and .ca seller is the SAME as on eBay; so he sells these babies $47 on eBay and less than ten bucks on Amazon. I do not understand it one bit....
wanted to buy this battery about a week or 2 ago and saw those prices on ebay, no idea why it increased that much so would like to hear if someone know

Your best bet is now Amazon.com or Amazon.ca... If you are luckily to be in the USA or Canada.
Other than that, the eBay prices are absolutely grotesque... :-\
NEW ROM will arrive people will buy NEW BATTERY instead of changing phone ! (It`s a 2 year old phone so battery will not last as new)
It's back down to $12 now, but I'd say they were low on stock so they jacked up the price for the last one or two units to avoid running out. Many online sellers do this for some reason, I guess selling out looks bad.

Where to buy LGOG Replacement Battery (Better Buy Suggestions?)

Hi mates. I just want to ask where I can buy OEM Battery replacement for the OG? I have F180K, but I guess we have the same type. I tried form ebay, but it's closing to 2 months since I purchased one, but it has not arrived yet. And I don't want to buy one from ebay anymore. So is there any trustworthy site where I can buy one? Thanks in advance!

Have you looked into Amazon? I don't see there being an issue with shipping to the Philippines but I do not know, worth a shot.
Here is the link to our battery.
http://www.amazon.com/Internal-Batt...d=1398264886&sr=8-1&keywords=lg+ls970+battery
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JZSJYNW/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I purchased that one off of Amazon because my battery died so hard I was getting 15 minutes off of a full charge and needed faster shipping.
Turned out identical to the one in my phone but it lasts about as well as the factory battery does.
I would have purchased the cheaper option under normal circumstances, but was in dire need of a fast delivery.
Just watch prying your phone open, the phone itself damages easy. In retrospect, I would have purchased the plastic pry tool as well since my miniature flatheads produced some unsightly divots on the outside of my phone.
