WTF?! Anker 1900mAh battery now $48 instead of $10? - Galaxy S II Accessories

What's up with the price change? Is there anything justifying the 470% price increase?????
Other than greed, I mean...
Anker battery, sold by 'authorized seller' on eBay; not even ten bucks:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Anker-1900mAh-Battery-Samsung-Galaxy-S2-II-i9100-/220813288199
Same battery sold by same seller, much MUCH more expensive now:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Anker-1900mAh-Battery-for-Samsung-Galaxy-S2-II-i9100-/330747106855
What's up with that? is it because the I9100 will be "phased out" or something? Isn't there an installed customer base huge enough for these guys to continue selling their batteries at an affordable price? I'm flabbergasted.....
-=-=-=-=-=-= Edit:
After having looked around a bit, to my great surprise, I was able to find this at $9 on Amazon.ca. I was VERY surprised since we, in Canada, rarely get the same deals as in the US... we always get milked with more expensive products, even of our dollar is at par with the US dollar. But this time, the price was the same.
Now the funny thing is, the Amazon.com and .ca seller is the SAME as on eBay; so he sells these babies $47 on eBay and less than ten bucks on Amazon. I do not understand it one bit....

wanted to buy this battery about a week or 2 ago and saw those prices on ebay, no idea why it increased that much so would like to hear if someone know

Your best bet is now Amazon.com or Amazon.ca... If you are luckily to be in the USA or Canada.
Other than that, the eBay prices are absolutely grotesque... :-\

NEW ROM will arrive people will buy NEW BATTERY instead of changing phone ! (It`s a 2 year old phone so battery will not last as new)

It's back down to $12 now, but I'd say they were low on stock so they jacked up the price for the last one or two units to avoid running out. Many online sellers do this for some reason, I guess selling out looks bad.

[FS] Some Stuff

From my new but bricked dash:
Battery new condition ($25)
Plastic battery cover ($20)
2 chargers ($15/each)
Also if anyones interested for a backup phone I have a new Motorola F3 for $40.
PM if interested, paypal only.
Do you charge delivery?
Delivery is about $1.50 for regular USPS postage so its very minimal.
How much for the whole thing? Do you ship intnl?
With both chargers? I can ship international, but price should stay the same. I'll drop it $15 total if you buy it all so $60 I think plus shipping which would be a bit more.
First come first serve I've had a few people interested but no one buying yet.
Bump, a few people interested, first come first serve though so nothing sold yet.

but it might not be a good battery with longer life/timespan
I wouldn´t hesitate about price, cheap batteries can be more expensive as you have to replace them more often because lower quality (Not all of course)
Also even "Not so cheap batteries" you can find them in very good deals.
Just my opinion,

Cheaper 2700mAh battery on DealExtreme

This showed up today for $14.60:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.41890
Looks kinda ugly.
If you're not familiar with DealExtreme, be prepared to wait a month or more for your item - they all ship from China. But the shipping's built into the price.

Plus usually their stuff is not to bad..
This had me a little worried:
- Replaces your broken or damaged original palm pre battery
with most chinese batteries not even being 70% of their claimed mah, looks like alot of extra bulk for very little battery life. an extra 300-400mah MAYBE.
Looks like the same one sold by boxwave.com which is pretty good company. I've ordered stuff from boxwave before.

battery
Well for getting batteries, i never deal with dealextreme, as its not reliable. I usually order my electronic accessories so as batteries with Chinabuye, reliable and well made quality. They are online store from China, i find i get all latest hitech gadgets and their accessories at best rate. My batteries working so far so good! Worth it!!
why are all the larger batteries LiPo?
after dealing with them in airsoft there is no way i would put one of these in my pocket.
and in the fact that they are cheap chinese batteries and you have a recipe for napalm to your genitals.

Good Accessories - Good Price

Seen as it xmas time ive decided to treat myself,or rather treat my phone, ive picked up some good accessories at some good prices, some of you may already have these items but ive noticed they have gone down in price in the last 6 weeks.
I've purchased as follows....
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004BR2ZTM
excellent price for a 32GB SD card, Lexar like Sandisk are one of the leaders when it comes to SD cards.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0050N42QU
I've already got a case but decided i like the look of this and at this price it's a bargain.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004WMGI94
Original Sammy battery at this price = serious bargain.
hi dude not bad extras but
the sgs2 cae you linked isnt that cheap when you add the postage really it works out to like 6 quid odd and seems a bit of a rip off having to pay nearly 5 pounds postage for a really light case , infact i despise sellers that make their money by over charging on postage ebay stopped this ages ago!!! you can get sgp neo hybrids of ebay for less the 10 pounds with free postage
lexmar do make ok cards but i prefer sandisk and they can be had a pound or two cheaper the lexmars ive used have varying read/write speeds sometimes mega quick , sometimes mega slow , sandisk has always been more constant for me and reliable too
id also be a bit skeptical about that battery being genuine at that price , if it isnt genuine youve paid over the odds for a fake , if it is genuine its cheap , however its not sold by amazon so id be skeptical to say the least , if you notice amazon sell the same battery for £12 you can almost gurantee the amazon one will be genuine but the one from the seller you linked has no gurantee its genuine and he could just be selling good fakes
my best extras have been
#sandisk card at £26
#sgp neo hybrid for £8
#jvc earbuds for £15 (super headphones too)
#3 pack of matte screen protectors for £2.75
#genuine 2000mah battery £27
#genuine samsung desktop battery charger for £8
Where can you find the Sgp neo hybrid for £8, all the ones I have found have been around £19.99

you may want to look again mate
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004WMGI94
It's sold by SAMSUNG so i would imagine the chances of it being fake are zero...as for the postage, the only thing i paid postage on was the case and it was still cheap, this case is still being sold in carphone warehouse for over £15 i seen it myself a few weeks ago, as for Lexar, i agree Sandisk are number 1 but Lexar are not far behind the the reviews for this are pretty much postive, a class 10 32GB card at this price IMO is a steal.

why does it say Samsung then on the clickable link, surely if this is a company called sky trading they could get into serious trouble for having Samsung on the page of the product
I may look into this further...

Must be made by Samsung. I always look for who is actually selling it. Also the first review doesn't look very promising, sounds like a fake in my opinion.

if you bought it from samsung / amazon / play / mobile fun chances are it would be genine but lots of 3rd party sellers on these sites sell fakes so was just saying

Most of the reviews are good you are always going to get bad reviews on Amazon no matter if the product is 100% perfect.
I do believe it's genuine but certainly if it isn't ill be looking for a refund, as soon as i get it ill be testing it.
Just reporting back - the battery is definitely real, it's exactly the same as the one that came with the phone and lasts pretty much the same maybe a little longer.
The Lexar SD card is excellent and the read and write speed is impressive enough, and finally the mesh case looks really cool, if you are really obsessed about protecting your phone from damage this case isn't for you, however if you are careful with your phone and want it to look great this is thge case for you.
Merry xmas

I will be getting the lexar card, simply because it's a class 10 and is slightly cheaper than the class 4 sandisk. Also the battery CAN still be fake. The chinese guys go through a lot of work to make sure it looks identical but it can still be real. Only way to find out is to keep using it

OEM battery on eBay

Any chance these are legit OEM batteries? Two OEM batteries for $16 seems too good to be true.

It is too good to be true. EBay is crawling with fake "OEM" batteries with a sticker that looks exactly the same as the real one. Makes it almost impossible to tell from a pic. If you want a "real" OEM battery, you need to get it from a known good seller. Shimshop on EBay sounds reliable from reports here. There's also Expansys, they likely have the real deal. The pricing I've seen is about $30/per for the real ones. Much cheaper and it's probably a fake.
i was thinking these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-OE...ccessories&hash=item2a18a7b669#ht_4442wt_1247
looks legit but who knows.
Also newegg had some but I don't see them now.
I've been using the bargain-basement eBay China batteries in everything from DSLRs to cell phones for like 7 years. They never work quite as well as OEM but at 10% of the price for 90% of the performance I don't care.

Its funny you posted this. I ordered 3 of them with charger and got them a few days ago. They are not OEM however they actually work pretty well. I sent seller email before i bought them and was told in his own words they are OEM samsung batteries.. I did this so when they were delivered i would have proof that seller was stating the fact they were OEM... I knew however for 14$ there was no way they would be real. This way when I contacted seller to complain i would have a leg to stand on. I sent him and email stating that they were fake and that I wanted to know what they were going to do about it and 1 hour later a paypal refund for the full amount was issued. These guys know they are selling fake stuff however unless you have a trained eye and know what you are looking for it would pass as an OEM product. For the price.... They are good batteries...lol.. To be honest i would have gladly paid the money if the seller would have come clean on the matter.. I will take pictures and post them when i get a chance..hope this helps....cheers
I took pic of all 3 with charger and a pic with a real OEM next to the eBay battery...can you tell the difference? lol... Oh and pics were taken with my Nexus so please excuse the quality...
The "original" ones on eBay IMO are fakes. Also the typeface used on the label definitely doesn't match the OEM battery that comes with the phone. I would avoid them and buy from a trusted vendor like Expansys or Handtec.
If you email the sellers of these real, but fake batteries, they will quickly say they made a mistake posting and the batteries are not genuine... I hate when sellers play games like that.
We should all mass-purchase these "original batteries" and demand refunds at the sellers expense, just to teach them a lesson. It's not right to knowingly scam the public.

Agreed. Usually you won't go wrong if the seller has included "genuine" in the listing. Be careful when they don't include that word. That's common ebay sense.

I go to Shenzhen and HK regularly, and I've been in the shanzhai/jiamao markets there and they have booths with blank batteries and the stickers that look almost exactly like all the major brands, they will make you up 100 or 50 or any qty you like on the spot. When they sell a counterfeit battery they always include a charger.....guess why? They caution you not to charge that counterfeit battery in your phone, it might explode or catch fire!
So they always sell the charger with the battery.
NO WAY would I put one of those P.O.S. in my phone.
They are tempting though.
PS: Not claiming accuracy in my pinyin terms but you get the idea

Yeah ..i was pretty sure when I bought them that they were fakes so when I received them I was not so surprised.. I did however get 3 batteries and a charger for free..lol...They are actually pretty good...They don't heat up and seem to last as long as the original. They are about 90% as good as the OEM as far as discharge times. Overall I am quite happy with them...And for the price I can't go wrong..
Damn I wish I had seen this the only way I knew was that it was fake was the NFC didn't work.

I've been using ebay batteries in my G2 for a long time. For the price I'd say they are worth it. I had a 2200mah evo 4g battery from ebay in my G2 for over a year and I just recently had to replace it because it wasn't holding a charge quite as long as it used to. When I first got it, it would easily last a day, which was something the stock htc battery couldn't do. Now I have an extended 3500mah battery I paid only 6 dollars for and I can get 3 days off of a charge. I have a 2300mah battery on order for the nexus, I'll make a review thread and let you guys know how it does.
