Odd problem with new e-mail alert sound - HTC Excalibur

So I am using Kavanas 6.1 ROM and have been for a few months with no problem.
I have been noticing that I am getting the "unread message alert" (kavana rom feature) 15 minutes after receiving my e-mail with out hearing my normal e-mail sound going off the moment I get it. This just started happening for no apparent reason. I havent installed any new apps or anything.
My MMS and SMS sounds are fine and they go off as normal. In "Settings" the e-mail alert sound is there and can be played. I shut my phone down and removed the battery for a few mins and retested it, still no alert sound when I receive my email. I then changed the e-mail alert sound to the same sound that I use for my SMS, retested, still no sound. Soft reset, still no sound. Shut down and removed battery for a few minutes, retested, still no sound.
I am stumped. I checked all my Settings for sounds and my profile and everything is normal. I even checked e-mail settings for some type of sounds options, even tho I was pretty sure there was none, and I was right, there is none.
I just dont get it... This ever happen to anyone else?

just noticed mine started doing this today, after i changed hte notifications to my own ringtone.

[Q] Scratchy/Distorted Speaker Sound?

I posted this question on a CM 11 Nightly forum with little success and was hoping to find a solution in this general forum. I am on CM 11 d2lte and have sound issues with my speaker when running my voice-mail. I historically would long press #1 on my dialer and access my messages that way, but no when I do that I get the "no messages" voice. I have left myself messages as a test to see if it works and it doesn't.
Here's what happens:
Get a message, go to v-mail app, press play, message starts out fine, but at the end of the message, then sounds turns into a very loud, scratchy, distorted static sound that cannot be turned off or turned down. When the sound stops on it own after about 7-10 seconds, i am not able to access the next message, cannot replay the same message, cannot do anything with the app. I am forced to reboot my system in order to get the next message and then I have to reboot after listening to the same garble...message after message.
1. I see others have had this issue
2. I have seen whacky solutions to this like disabling sms features
3. Does anyone have a real solution to this?
I have tried other Vmail apps and they all create the same sound in the speaker when checking v-mails, which tells me it is a communications issue with the vmail app and the speaker. Thoughts?
I don't necessarily care for a v-mail app...I'd like to be able to get my messages by long pressing #1...anyone?

no ringtone on phone calls?

So kind of a weird issue that I've never experienced even on custom Roms. My phones ringtone has stopped working. It will vibrate and always receives calls, I have notification sounds and alarms work just fine but the phone never actually rings it only vibrates. I've tried all the setting thru the quick menus and digging thru the settings. I've tried changing ringtones, using different ringtones, vibration on and off and I can't figure it out. This is a recent problem as the the ringtone did work before but has stopped since. Any help would be appreciated.

get zedge from play store get any ringtone download then set as default ringtone see if that works
I'm pretty sure that I've been having issues with it not ringing properly when in my pocket. Either it's not ringing at all or it's so quiet it's inaudible. I just turned off "pocket mode" and "quiet ring on pickup" in sound settings. Haven't got the chance to test whether one of those settings is the cause yet, but I have a feeling one of them is.

Fulmics 6.1 missing notifications sound from NEXT SMS

I just installed Fulmics 6.1 onto Lg G3 D855/16GB.
All working nice except I lost notification sounds in Next SMS.
I don't get any sound when new ones arrives, if don't catch the screen that lights up for the sneak preview of SMS I miss the new SMS.
I tried to set the sound in both handcent > settings > notification as well as in Android settings > sound and notifications.
I am not in silent mode, yet notifications are still not playing sounds.
Any ideas?
To clarify things, I am not expecting this to be Fulmics causing this. More that now that I got both android 6 and fulmics 6.1 at the same time the GUI changed a lot and there might be other ways to adjust notification sound then what I have found.
I've tried all the settings I can think of.
I started out with Android settings, making sure notification sound was enabled.
Then I chose to set special sound for apps, and chose next sms.
To be certain I changed to the sound to a mp3 file in my download folder.
Still no sound.
Went into next sms > settings > All > Notification & Reminder > Notification settings > Notification Sound
Here I can see the sound has changed to myfile.mp3
Still no notification sounds.
Browse and google for answers and find a page telling me to reverse all things in sounds and notifications to NO SOUNDS. Well I tried, I even tried to follow the program and reboot for each change I made. After several reboots I eventually got to the part where I again chose to turn on notification sounds, and did the final reboot. Puh. STILL NO SOUND when I receive sms/txt.
I've almost pulled all my hair from my head in pure frustration, I can't walk around missing txt's because my stupid phone suddenly don't give me notifications. Try to tell that to your boss, no you see my phone don't give me audio notifications when you text me. Sure my boss wont buy into that.
Pls help.

Txt tone (notification tone) gets cut off constantly while using Verizon's "Message+"

Txt tone (notification tone) gets cut off constantly while using Verizon's "Message+"
Anybody else having problems with text tones getting cut off? I have tried several different notification tones and it seems to get cut off nearly every time I get a text. Sometimes it'll play half of the tone then stop and other times it'll play maybe 75% of the tone and stop. Have no clue what is going on, the notification tones are not corrupt or anything if I play them in another audio app it plays the whole thing just fine. I use Message+, does this have something to do with it? I can try another messaging app I suppose but I really like Message+.
Anybody else having similar issues?
Yeah, it's happening to me too on Outlook email notifications. At first I thought it was my custom tones, but it's doing it with the stock tones as well.
