[THEME-dev] Analog+digital clock for manila v2 - XPERIA X1 Themes and Apps

Analog+digital & analog only clock for latest manila build

this is a totally new rewrite of my previous work, based on latest build, more clean because no need to embed sprint component this time (thanks to T-mobile ) old thread here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=479929
developed and tested with itje's latest build, currently T-mobile one from 6.1 2.604 kitchen. Feel free to try on other roms, it should work, but keep in mind that results may be different
files provided: (as uninstallable cab or zip format)
1st screen
guap analog+digital clock.cab (bgdefault.zip): analog+digital clock.
note: with this you CAN'T change background in settings, you have to customize manila default one
guap analog+digital clock customizable bg.cab (bgwhite.zip): analog+digital clock with customizable background.
note: with this you MUST choose a bg from settings because default bg turns white on home. manila default bg still remains on others tab
2nd screen
guap analog clock.cab (anabgdefault.zip): analog clock only.
note: with this you CAN'T change background in settings, you have to customize manila default one
transparent clock bg.cab (4e670504_manila_transparent clock bg.zip - see post #4 for attachment): transparent background for digital clock
transparent top curtain.cab (18c460d8_manila_transparent_top_curtain.zip - see post #4 for attachment): transparent top curtain
the bg bug will persist until I can decompile correctly analog embedded script with luadec, no way for now
Suggest to disable manila before you install and re-enable after installation, try to soft-reset if somethin goes wrong on first try
as usual, imagine the standard disclaimer

I guess the other thread's screenshots would apply for this theme,
but I'd suggest guap to better add them here too

transparent clock bg.cab (4e670504_manila_transparent clock bg.zip): transparent background for digital clock
transparent top curtain.cab (18c460d8_manila_transparent_top_curtain.zip): transparent top curtain

hey guap, i installd the digital + analog with customizable bg, on itje's 4.5 ROM, andd selected a background from settings, but other than the home tab, all other tabs are appearing with white only bg.
will try a soft reset

as stated, this is for itje's 5.x or other roms with t-mobile manila... it's strange that even work on 4.5... clock is totally different
sorry, I can't check on old manila... maybe you have more luck with default bg one
anyway, a soft reset suggestion in #1post shouldbe a good idea

phew....*nervous smile*
reinstalled ratcom's Plain HD ui for custom bg on all tabs, that fixed it...now looking for the start menu not appearing fix (after installing plain hd)

you're sayng that ratcom's fix make bg function in all tab including home? or you uninstalled my clock? (in this case even manila restarting fix all )

Well Ratcom's package enables custom background in all tabs (I think it was released with the new Itje release but works in Itje 4.5 ), but i lost your analog clock. I guess I'll wait till I'm ready to flash yet another newer ROM
uninstalling your analog package (without Ratcom's) didn't bring back the background in other tabs on its own

uhm sounds really weird... did you soft reset? did you uninstalled with manila disabled?

ok, below is the sequence of steps i performed:
1. installed the analog+digital with custom backgroun
2. Got white background on all tabs
3. Selected a background image from settings -> home tab showed the selected bg, all other tabs were white
4. uninstalled the cab for 'guap analog+digital with custom bg'
5. All tabs other than 'home tab' still white
6. Soft reset -> no doughnut
7. installed ratcom's custom bg for all tabs... ->fixed the issue, resulted in missing start menu
8. installed Profagg's fix for start menu not appearing in manila
and now I'm back to where I started
(custom bg on all tabs, minus the analog clock)

this doesn't happens to me... I bet it's related to your different manila build
Anyway, the customizable home bg hack is a sort of proof. At this time is relaly dirty and I'm not suprised of strange behaviour, the "safe" version is the one with default bg on all tabs.

i get the all white bg on all tabs also, and im using touch 5.05

did you installed while manila disable and soft reset after installation before reactivating manila?

Hi guap. I edited your above home.mode9 to my taste a bit Hope you wont mind. The BG on all tabs is solved in the attached file. There's an extra object called "HomeBackground2D", I simply deleted that group and it started working. Only thing is now, I wish to remove the call history button and add the calender button instead. Can you help a bit in that? Moreover I want that calendar button to be linked to the calendar page in TP2 manila (btw, the below screen is from my Diamond )
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The only issue is below. This is what happens after swiping the tab up The button & flip clock remains & the analog disappears After swiping down, everything returns to normal

Hey guap..first of all great clocks...
Anyways..ameet deleted the group which is one way to do it
I did it another way in which i set the background transparent in ur clock.in the home.mode9 file..with that my panorama works as well and all other backgrounds work as well..,
FOr ameet and guap:
I had to ask you a question which i feel you may answer as you do lots of clock stuff and lua..
Do you know eactly what lua is needed to activate a object on a upward scroll?I mean when we scroll upwards the clock moves up.Or in other tabs the list movs up.Do you know what script is needed...like (l_1_0) set yaxis or anyhyting like that..i just cant seem to find it...
Chers
Rotastrain

sorry for the delay but I'm on titanium now and lost interest in manila...
the problem is simply one: we can't decompile correctly lua script for now.
Some components are required from others to work, in this case ameet removed a group that has to be present to get the swipe feature work because it's required by the main lua. You can try to simply "hide" it (adding a "visible = false" statement somewhere) instead of removing but that's the reason why there are some apparently useless section in home.mode9
about linking to different page: same problem, you can't correctly recompile edited script, so it won't work even if you correctly point to your desired page
@rotastrain: I think it's 2a0ac464, the main clock script... but there are pieces everywhere

[THE]*UPDATE*[01-10-09] Black Magic by Zal (TF3D & S2U2 & 15-Tabs)

Ok this is my very first attempt at working with manila/themes! So like please don't shout at me if I get anything wrong (also it's my first ever post ) All advice/suggestions are welcome!
While this might look like the Sprint Theme from NisseDILLIGAF, it is not. It is, however, inspired by the Sprint theme. The only thing I did actually use is some of the neon icons but I created some new ones. Including a shiney red one for the stock tab. Also Calendar and Sound Settings icons for 15-Tabs version.
Everything else I made from scratch in Photoshop. I created a new tab-sliderbar similar to the Sprint one because the original did not work well on the HD. (as can be seen here)
My version:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
(I'm particularly happy with the little funky light sparkles)
I found a way to use full-sized high quality images in the tf3d Home tab and also have a semi-transparent slider bar in all tabs. Which means you can see the HQ background through the slider in all tabs! (make sure you have default wallpaper set in tf3d settings.. i.e. no wallpaper)
I might do some more work on the clock because i'm not 100% happy with it yet. There are lots of other little mods you'll have to see for yourself
Got the battery fire effect from Godzon's Battery and modded it to work properly on Touch HD.
Oh and the flowery brush used for the wallpaper I got from here.
I made it into a cab for easy install/uninstall. (remember to soft-reset after installation)
*** NEW cab that includes 15 tabs and the 15 tab manila hack ***
*** Reserved ***
Cool theme, will be trying this out.
Yeah... excellent work, dude.
Amaizing work ! Looks great ! Going to use this..
I REALLY like that you have made it into a cab file.. every theme should be like this.. Perfect !!!
great work man, one of the best themes here.
Some suggestions for future updates :
1. Make a 15 tabs version. with complet icons set.
2. Add a new font to the mix.
3. Skin for throttlelock.
4. Custom wallpaper for weather tab.
Thanks for all the positive comments This is just the first of many more themes to come!

Some really good suggestions here. I'll definitely make a 15 tab version and I'll have to play around with fonts as I haven't tried that yet on the HD. I've created a few fonts in the past so hopefully I can come up with something original.
I Haven't actually tried out the throttlelock program yet as S2U2 works so well. But I'll give it a go today and hopefully make a skin for it!
Currently it's not possible to have a different wallpaper for individual tabs. However, I'm gonna work a bit on the graphics used on the weather tab.
Zal, Nice Theme!
Just wondering how you managed to create your custom icons in the phone?
Im trying to download a few png files that i want and cant find any info on how to just change these?

Hi gbds, the process is outlined here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blackstone_Custom
Best to read the entire page, but basically you have to copy all the files ending in _manila from your phones windows folder (using explore in active sync) and then use Manila Editor to insert new png images into the manila files and copy them back to the phone Hope this helps.

I made a 15 tab version! I've updated the cab file. So just uninstall the old one and download/reinstall the new one and it should give you nice icons for all 15 tabs
Let me know if it looks ok to you, I tested it and it seems to work well.
Great job,thank you!!
do i need to uninstall my previous S2U2 before i install this?

Nope, you need to have S2U2 installed before you install this theme. Currently the cab just replaces the wallpaper in S2U2. (The clock shown in the S2U2 screenshots is just the standard small one found in the clock-pack which you can download on the S2U2 website.)
Oh and uninstalling the theme puts back the original S2U2 wallpaper
Do I have to install the 15 tab from the other thread 1st?
Or your cab files already include the 15 tab and the respective icons?

15 tab cab first. I only included the icons for 15 tabs and not the 15-tab-hack, in case people don't want to use 15 tabs.
you have just made me think though. Maybe I should have 2 cabs available for download. One with just the normal tabs and one that has the 15 icons and the hack included in it hmmmm.
Cool theme !
At first, I really wasn't convinced with the flowers brush next to the neon icons. Reason is you can't change the background to fit both neon & flowers styles
But then I found it quite unique.. I loved it
Keep up the good work
Very very nice!
I like the original Black&White theme but wanted a touch of color in it without replacing the whole thing. well, using neon colors for the current selected tab is just perfect!
The colored flowery background is subtle and very nice too, If we could have more different choice of pattern for that background it would be even better.
I might do some more work on the clock because i'm not 100% happy with it yet.

I agree on that point, the problem is that because of the transparency the flipping animation when the time change doesn't look so good, and we can't see "PM" or "AM". How does it look with the original clock?
I'm using the 15 tabs version but maybe you can provide a separate 11 tabs version.
Also it'd be nice to separate the customization for s2u2 from the TF3D cab.
Same if you do the Throttle Lock.
Is it technically possible to slightly animate things like the light sparkles, or the glowing of the neon?
Thanks again for your work, it truly awesome!!

Solution: here.

[THE] Analog clock, digital clock and tf2d clock style for manilaHD

Here it is
full working ManilaHD analog clock proper port and full sprint clock port
- based on ManilaHD home, all appointments show (3 on normal home, 5 when sliding up)
- Analog version only
- Analog + small flip version, similar to tf2d one
- 26/02/09 Analog + small flip version, similar to tf2d one for new manila with landscape support (bg issue fixed, tnx to mun_rus)
- 26/02/09 Analog + digital clock version, clone of tf2d one for new manila with landscape support
- 26/02/09 Digital clock version, sprint for new manila with landscape support
- 27/02/09 Analog clock only for new manila with landscape support
sad to see that someone steal my work without giving any credit (see original release date)
some screens: 1- analog + flip |||||||| 2- analog only |||||||||| 3- all appointments |||||||||| 4- analog + digital |||||||||| 5- a landscape preview |||||||||| 6- Digital (sprint) clock
Credits to:
- 6Fg8 for her manila m9 editor http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=464984 nothing could be possible without it
- NisseDILLIGAF for his original port on diamond http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3268074&postcount=1702

Usage:
- make a backup!!! I'm not responsable for any loosing of any data of any type!!!
- unpack in your /windows directory
- restart tf3d
-customize colors/component and enjoy
EDIT: links to cab files http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3289539&postcount=22
HOW TO SKIN:
This is only a mix between flip, digital (sprint) clock and analog clock, you have to use skin for standard analog clock, standard flip and sprint clock already posted and explained in diamond forum or blackstone forum in clock thread. no modifications are required, if a skin works properly for flip clock or analog clock will work perfectly even for this as it uses same graphics file. Use m9editor to modify graphics
nice job !!
thanks for sharing !!
I've been looking for a nice simple analog clock, thanks!
Unfortunately this has turned my background completely white.
I had the simply back theme installed on my phone and my own custom background...just so you know.
like you say, always make a backup....i wish i had
thank you very much! this one was missing on my hd!
EDIT: only one thing, is there a chance to change the color of the small flip clock from white to crystal. or is it to difficult?

sounds strange... do you have some strange things like bg4all tabs or somethin? To modify bg you have to select in settings and then restart tflo3d
also, for "uninstall" simply delete new manila files with CEcommander or something similar to restore your original rom files

the small flip clock is only a standard flip clock automaticaly scaled... you only have to search a confortable flip clock theme and install it it's skinnable as a normal flip clock
Any chance of doing a cab for it?

Hi scottyuk, I have the same problems to.
With just the analogue I cant change the wallpaper in all tabs, i.e. they are all black plain wallpaper. with the analogue and digital clock it sends my home screen white to?
When I change the wall paper the digital clock goes to red led type display fot the time?
I am useing the mun_rus background for all tabs and have ROM 1.19 if that is of any help?
Cheers again guap, nice clocks.
I'm sorry but it doesn't depend on me.
This clock is based on a plain mode9 home from original manilaHD to be as much as possibile compatible but bg4alltabs adds different values to different locations and new files... You can point the author to this thread and I will glad to give him all details he need to fix
@speed200:
cab doesn't change neither installation neither uninstallation as this is only a simple copy of some files overwriting others, just delete them to recover your original rom files.
Anyway I will make a cab when I return on a windows machine (I don't know hot to make a wince cab from linux)
Mun_rus has locked the manilla file that controls the homescreen making his background for all tabs prog not compatable with analogue clocks so if you have it installed, thats your problem.
guap, absolutely brilliant work. thanks again!
Hi Guap,
great job, this analog clock was on the air and now we have it....... good to you!!
Just a little thing..... can you "rub" the little hugly bad monster on the right of the LCD? It looks like terrible, how did you invent it?? )
If you want many users to be glad, you'll do another little step....... the "monster" has to get lost.
You're from Milan.......... Me too......... Maybe one day I'm meeting you somewhere.
Nice Job !
Is it possible to show operator and screen backdrop on all screen tab ?
Thanks
uhm.... are you serious? that's my shiny background, I love my tux-with-sunglasses You can choose your own bg from settings tab
next step will be remove flip clock and use sprint clock instead. tought work

Same here, it looks like a digital clock rather than a flip clock, I kind of like it though.
When I installed a glass clock cab it had a clear flippy frame around it, and when i uninstalled the glass clock cab, i get the stock flip clock again. (recopied all your manila files again to get the red digi clock )
Thanks very much for the great work!
my mistake, i used original package for diamond from nissedilligaf instead of mine used for screenshotts... looks like a digital but it's a flip anyway
@Roflnova: check diamond forum, iriginal has released by nissedilligaf

I've installed an earlier series of your icons (from V1.50, I think) on my Polaris (P3650)
Only QVGA, so not as pretty, but they work fine and present much better than the bog-standard ones in most ROM's. They consume very little Storage, of course
Great work! Nice.
The whole set was re-compiled to avoid conflicts but I am glad to hear they also work in the Polaris
Just to check for sure. Is this compatible with the R2AA010 roms?
As these have different shellres.192.dll 's
If so... how did you get reshacker to open the bitmaps inside the dll?
It crashed here...

You need PE Explorer to edit shellres
But it is basicaly the same (R1, R2...8 and R2...10) at least regarding icons and dialogs
Thank you for pointing out PE explorer
works like a charm!
_________________
EDIT:
Somehow it doesn't work that charming
It opens the file and makes it easily editable.
But when sending back to the phone it messes up the icon order and it's not working.
When skimming through the dll there seem to be some icons that do not work ..
any idea how/why this is possible?
have attached the original and my version to see if it makes more sense to somebody else..

3- Is you phcanOverbmp.DLL stock or has modded icons inside ??
(phcanOverbmp.DLL icons will override shellres.192.DLL signal/battery icons and other)
4- Have you installed any program which adds HTCvolumecontrol.DLL ??
(HTCvolumecontrol.DLL is NOT presnent on stock Xperia, but it will override your shellres.192.DLL Speaker icons)
5- Sure your cooked 32x32 @ 32 bits icons into your new DLL ??
Double check and tell me what happens

Yup...it's in itjes 4.0 rom... does this only effect the speaker icons? (don't care to change those..)
5- Sure your cooked 32x32 @ 32 bits icons into your new DLL ??
the windows icon seemed to be 41x41 pixels when exported
I'll test in the next days, unfortunately deadly busy at the moment.
But will get back to it!
thanks for the suggestions

Yes the start icon is different, but after many many hours of frustrating trial and error tests I can give you a hint:
Better make it 41x36 or it won't look OK
As an example, here I let you my own START logo for the upcoming "X" series "standard" version (non-SE) - It MUST be 41x36 to display properly
.
Thanks.
Looks good

Hi! Do you think it'll be possible to do a change in the next version that in the flight mode to appear a small plane icon? And, will be too much asking for a wait bouncing icon without the square frame, too?? Just wonder..
Good work. Thanks.
thanks. very nice indeed!! looks much better than the standard icons. i notice youre working on a newer Fseries. any chance of making the "vibrate" icon different? at a quick glance its very similar to the silent and loud speaker icons. thanks

Changed speake vibrate and off icons

Thank you very much for the beatiful icons
Can I ask one little thing ? I'm using the wireless today plugin, which is very useful when you use the standard WinMo today screen.
Since I installed your icon set, the bluetooth icon of the wireless today plugin doesn't display (I have a white square instead).
Do you think it is possible to fix it? Many thanks

SEX1cons_X_v1.1-BlueWIN.CAB [Start icon: Silver/Blue Windows]

Developers package [DLLs, ICOs, shellres variants] available on post 3
- darthmelk asked for a TF3D2 "single-slider" HTC Volume Control version
so I prepared a VolumeControl DLL for all of you using TF3D2
If your volume slider looks like this, you need to add this DLL @ post footer to keep it single instead of double
Just replace HTCVolumeControl.dll @ /windows/ with this one
- These are screen caps from R3PUBL1K to show how the "X" series "Line 1" icon displays
(this was just a test for the "Line 1" icon only, the others are not mine):
And this is the "Line 1" icon for the "F" series:
Also, I will try to make separate CABs later, this way anybody will be able to add Line 1 & Line 2 icons to their favorite icons set
AND MORE TO COME !!
SOON: I'm working on a "deluxe" version of the "X" series with more detailed & colourful icons
Sort of this:
.
DOWNLOADS
DLL package contents:
HTCVolumecontrol.dll
outres.192.dll
phcanOverbmp.dll
shellres.192.dll
tapres.192.dll
tshres.192.dll
All files were extracted from Xperia X1 UK ROM R2A, then were unsigned, edited with ResHacker and re-signed with a private developer SDK certificate
ICO package contents:
22 Battery icons for 1%,5%,10%,15%,20%,25%... 100% & charge
70 signal icons including connection animations for signal, GPRS, EDGE, 3G and HSDPA
22 USB icons for sync connected and animation
14 WiFi icons for on, new, connected, disconneted and animation
10 other icons for speakers, loudspeaker, messages, multinotification, etc
6 bitmaps for Bluetooth, headset and Line 1&2
All icons are my artwork
shellres package contents:
Xseries_shellres(START)variants.zip contains the 3 versions of shellres.192.dll with the different START icons and Waiting cursor animations
Have fun
.
I really like your X Series. I'd suggest that you make a SE and Standart version like the one you made in Beta 3. I love this blue / silver windows logo.
If you consider making more versions with "more detailed & colourful icons" ... I really like the combination of blue and silver. Blue battery and earth from Beta3 were great .
Thanks for your work on all this icons and skins! Keep it up

I like indeed the blue windows logo :>. You could go with a SE logo version and I take the windows one .
It's just the question if gtrab wants to make several diffrent cabs with just one new icon (start logo). Alternatively we could replace the icon ourselves if gtrab publishes them and tells us what to do . They are not in the current ICO package, aren't they?
how do i get the battery indicators to show on the task bar? I'm using vista hide right now...but rather use yours.

Pretty simple, just remove VistaHide and soft reset.
Tried the icons, the animation is great, the icons look good, maybe smaller than I thought.
What I would like:
1. Green SE start icon and bouncing SE wait icon included. I overwrote the shellres.192 file but I would prefer it to be integrated in your cab.
2. Red battery when low.
3. Move the signal bars up not to overlap the icon border. Or if you can't do that, cut the border where the signal bars will be displayed. It will look nicer.
4. Bigger battery icon without the numbers.
Nice job!
I'd like green SE start and wait icon too

Perfect work! Thank You, Lord!
Now this is near perfect for me...
Thanks very much
Do you have plans to work on the animated AS icon?
Excellent, I think you managed to please everyone!
I think the only problem now is with the signal bars over the icon border. Does the system put the bars in that position or you chose to make the icons that way?

gtrab mentioned this before to me...
There´s nothing I can do about the signal bars being out of frame cause those bars are generated, not replaceable icons as the other ones
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
SO it might be better to this icon differently without the boarder? or just make a change to the icon and remove the bottom bar
Well, then I guess the best idea is to cut the border where the bars appear.
Nice job gtrab...looks nice on xperia
Thanks a lot...
@gtrab
For now on, i stick with this set that I love it.
As I asked in the F series, is it possible to do a small change that when switch to plane mode to see an icon like a plane? Something like my second image (excuse my lack of talent).
And, for the wait bouncing SE logo, can be done without the square? Only the circle?
Thanks!

you shouldn't do anything with the png's exept create manila files off theme
you have to copy the manila files of the notification icons into the windows folder. (you can't use the normal explorer for that, use Totalcomander)
if it still doesn't work, try my other notification theme link in my signature

Meant changing BLUE to GREEN ( clock, tab icons, noti icons..etc )
Great theme, but having two problems. The top bar hasn't changed (not transparent) and the bottom windows bar (Phone/Menu bar) hasn't changed either. Anyone else seeing problem with those or have any ideas why it's not working for me?
Using L26HDLEOV3.
Thanks
Looks great hempe. I'm using your black flip; you missed a file out for it in the clocks zip so here's a zip with all the flip bits.

1. Have you softreset after installing the theme cab?
if you didn't do so else or if the problem remains
2. check with total comander what's the value of:
Code:
\\\registry\HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\SoftKeyBar\SoftKeyBarThemeImage
shoud be \Window\HDWall_softkeybar.png
and
Code:

Checked the registry values and they were the default ROM values. I checked my windows folder I do not have HDWall_taskbar.png nor HDWall_softkeybar.png. Which cab is suppose to install those? Any way you could provide me with the two .png files and I'll just manually set them? Oddly enough, lockscreen and startmenu look like they should (except the background is not HQ like the background in manila...not sure if that's normal).
Much thanks!
ok i put a zip with the cab that should install the softkeybar and taskbar in the secound post.
You have to softreset after installation.
The png's are also included in the zip
BEST THEME for sense 2.5 as of NOW!!! Thanks. To make it compatible with MaxUltimate. Great great effort!
