New to the world of Hermes

as the title suggests i am very new to this world, and only was introduced to it by luck, and glad i was. Anyways just wanted to know where i could find the latest and greatest 3des.3.x for a dopod 838 pro
Also another question after some browsing it seems as though the black is the most popular, but why?? It seems to lack alot of applications in comparision to the 3des Hermes, is there any floors with the 3des hermes that i have not yet read?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
help needed
Ya i wish to find out more as well as i m using dopod 838pro, y is it after i update to the official rom of wm 6, my bluetooth can't receive file and what is the best and stable rom that you guys will recommend, pls help, i wish to enhance my hermes to top performance and what softwares is a must for it to be the best pda companion.
Welcome to a world of wonder boys. First thing that you will learn about this site is that it is large and complex and can be really daunting at first.
I recommend first starting here
And then try the guides from Mr. Vanx.
After that, just start plopping ROMs on your device and testing them out. You are bound to find one that is right for you. And if not, by the time you try four or five ROMs you will probably be ready to cook your own.
@2revup - many ROM flashers actually find that a ROM free of most software is better than a bloated ROM. It enables the user to keep most of the device's memory free to install programs of his/her choosing.
thanks for that larsuck i will do some more reading, looking forward to getting some nice ROMS

Build 20755 etc..

Hi all,
I keep reading up on new builds for windows mobile 6.1. i.e 20755 over 20270 (just the standard naked ROM).
Whats the difference difference for the new builds. Are there any release notes from Microsoft on what has been updated?
Otherwise whats the point in upgrading?
Regards,
well
As microsoft/htc is never going to release an official 6.1 for the hermes, we have people from all over the world who managed to strip the ROM from different devices and 'port' it for the hermes, hence we as punters to this site have been enjoying.
There is no 'official' word, but as you can see, from different threads on this forum that flash lite 3.1 and ultimately the new Pocket IE can be ported succesfully.
Mainly these builds come from China? correct me if I am wrong but those guys are very resourceful and we are grateful for it, just wish they would share.
your first post...welcome to the forum. check out veyka's excellent thread for any further questions u may have! Happy Flashing!!

1) speed
2) New features (zoom in IE, flash lite 3.1 in the core, outlook enhancements)
MS dont put out builds for phones, they give the OEMS a os customisation kit, its upto them to out out updates + release notes + ect.

WM 6.1 Professional

I bought by Diamond last year containing Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. However i updated the rom and started using Windows Mobile 6.5. Actually i don't like the looks and my phone also gets slow with the current os. Can i restore my original os i.e WM 6.1 professional with 3D touch flo?
Thanks in advance.
Welcome aboard!

Hi,
It seemed to me you are new here on XDA. Welcome aboard!
Our Diamonds are not capable enough to run many things together due to limited RAM . But you can try out different ROMs with WM6.5.3, possibly clean ones with Titanium UI or simply WM classic today. I love WM6.5.x look and feel as compared to WM6.1, I'll never go back to 6.1 now And of course M$ have updated a lot of things which are useful in your daily usage.
Although coming to your original question, you can always flash original ROMs from HTC, just download from www.htc.com and flash it. But if you want to live with 6.1+tf3d there are few better ROMs roaming around in this forum, just try them out. Cooked ROMs are far more better than HTC original ones .
Also don't forget to read, Read, and READ all the stuff on WIKI and support threads in this forum. It will help you a lot
Happy flashing! Cheers!

3VOLUTION SERIES ROMs - S620 and SNAP

Hi,
I was thinking to move from my S620 to Snap because I noticed that the development of 3VOLUTION ROMs ( and all the others ) are not going on.
What do you think about?
May we expect new Roms for our S620?
bye!
lebero
Agreed.
We need to see more 3volution roms for the Excalibur. Maybe based on the new 6.5.3 core.
same situation
I have update my s620 to the last 3vo rom available (fantastic!), and my idea is to wait to change the phone until WiMo7 will be described in details (you know, multitasking and so on...).
As of today, before moving from WiMo to Android, i'm happy to play with the Hexcalibur, and any new rom will be well accepted!
I ask to 3VOLUTION author
have you plannes new Roms for Excalibur?
thanks!
lebero
you guys don't realize what oOkBa went though to get that rom to run as smooth as it does now, on a device that's 4 years old, I was one of the first beta testers of the 3VO 6.5 from when it was 1.0, and now at 3.0 maybe he has reached a plateau where there's not much else he can use that's still compatible or that it works well on the excalibur.
Instead of making a new thread asking about it, why don't you ask in the proper rom thread or pm him about it, you might get an answer quicker that way.
Hey Roloracer,
Good point you made.
First let me BIG UP oOkba for his roms. I jus installed 3.0 runs ok but the camera dosent work, any ideas on a quick fix?
Thanks Again

Hi blackcsc
Yes it's reliable I have been using it for more than 2 weeks. but it is a bit slow due to processor. also the issue of delay sounds/ringtones, but that has been solved with in this forum.
