SMS Messages, Email Messages - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

This may be a stupid question, but is there a way to delete ALL messages in one sweep? Deleting msgs one by one is very cumbersome...Thanks

(the long way --> which I am only including in case you don't want to delete ALL MESSAGES you can select several instead)
click you messages or email tab, then click "all messages" or "inbox" then click Menu>select messages>all then click menu>delete.
The quick way Menu>Tools>Clear

Yupe there are several ways, what I usually use is by using the qwerty keyboard:
Go to inbox, Ctrl+A, Delete --> this will delete all messages
If you only want to delete from someone particular,
Directly input the name, the inbox will be filtered only by your search, then again, Ctrl+A, Delete --> this will only delete from your search results. Really handy.

2 Questions

Hello,
I have a couple of questions:
Is there anyway to delete multiple contacts on the O2 Xda Orbit (WM6) without deleting all.
And also is there anyway to stop Windows Live Messenger contacts being added to your phone contacts.
Thanks
In Windows Live, select 'menu' and go to 'Options > 2 Sync options' and disable the option to store your live contacts in your contact list.
Dunno how to delete multiple contacts on the device, I use Outlook to do that.
G.
Gave the first one a try but when I go to sign in it tells me that my Windows Live contacts will be synced to your contact lists. I did incheck the box which says sync Windows Live contacts is there anyway to stop this.
Thanks
Sorry for the double post but has anyone got any ideas on this.

Look into 'ODIR' Outlook duplicate remover (google) when you can sync a pc with activesync. Install ODIR (shows as an option in outlook then) and it will safely remove all duplicates.
Or
Look into a Pocketpc program such as SKTools or pocket Mechanic, both have trial versions, and have the option to remove duplicates as well, but now on your ppc.
Gracias Twiggerdingo
any idea on the messenger problem.
Thanks
The 'newest' wlmessenger has an option in it so you can choose manually. I thought it was at the start (when installing) but it should be in the options (todayitems?) as well.

When you are in contacts tap the keyboard and then tap ctrl on the keyboard and that will let you select more than one contact, once you have selected all the contacts you want to delete just tap and hold on one of the highlighted contacts and select delete.

delete sms immediately???

is there a way to delete texts immediately like emails do when you check "delete off server" i dont like how the text still saves in the delete folder.
thanks.

delete messages without loosing sms

is there a way to 'remove' the messages from the messages tab (win mobile 6.5) without actually delete the 'related' sms-es?
So I only see the new messages on the tab, and keep all the incoming sms-es.
Some ideas for you:
1. Delete individual messages via the Messages tab in Manila/Sense/TF3D
2. Turn off threaded messaging. Then you can delete individual messages in the WinMo Messaging application. Or perhaps try to move them to a new folder if you don't want to delete them.
3. Sync your messages with MyPhone. Then log in using a desktop and archive your messages rather than deleting them.

General Contacts Questions (Modifying etc)

Right, I'm at my whit's end.
I've added contacts to my new Desire, and managed to link them with their respective FaceBook profiles. The thing is, i now want to send a group text message, and the primary message method is via e-mail. I don't want to send an e-mail, i want to text their phone number. I can't seem to find anything which will change it so that an SMS is primary and e-mail is secondary.
Any ideas on that one? I know i can send a single message, but that isnt what i want to do, i want to highlight any contact i wish and have it automatically send an SMS, and not an e-mail.
Also, when sending a message, is there any way to filter the contacts down to just those with phone numbers OR e-mail instead of having a massive amalgamated list of Facebook, Twitter, Google and Phone contacts?
Any help will be hugely appreciated!
hi did you get anywhere with this - esp your last point - must be something obvious ?!
Nope, got nowhere. I can't find any option or anything anywhere to do this. Ive just decided to try and live with it.
If I understood well..when you type in a new message and click in recepients, then the list with your contacts pops up. But, in mine at least, every contact that has a phone number and an email, has 2 records, one with the mail and one the phone number, only to let you choose what you want. Although in contacts list, have one all together.
it shows me:
nikos <[email protected]>
nikos <+000>
etc...
I have the same system as well. The issue i'm raising is when you have say, 350 Facebook contacts and 200 Gmail contacts, and you want to send a message, you have to scroll through every contact to get to the one you want.
I want to know if there's a way to filter the contacts to say "Mobile Numbers Only" or "Email Only" when you're trying to select a (many) recepient(s) for a message.

Duplicate contacts because Whatsapp!!

For some strange reason I still haven't figured out, all my contacts are double entries in the stock "Contacts" or "Dialer" app. One of the 2 entries is the normal one, and the other consist only for whatsapp. I don't understand why it's seperate on this phone. Never had this problem before.
How can I fix this? I know there's an option to hide the Whatsapp numbers (unchecked in "what to show" option in Dialer/Contacts), but that will take also the conveniance of quickly selecting someone out of contacts to call or message via whatsapp.

This is how i do it... go to Contacts and go to the Whatsapp contact, you have to press the edit icon, and it asks you to join the number.. after that it says it's joined, then you see it's one Contact only.

Your contacts library is sync to Gmail or reside in phone storage or saved in SIM card?
I have noticed exactly the same issue.
All my contacts are in Gmail.
You can merge duplicate contacts in contacts settings.

We can always display Gmail contacts only. Goto:
Contacts > three-dots icon > Contacts to display > Select Gmail account.

Yes, but the only downside is that if you search a contact, all copies (double, triple, ...) Are shown again.:cyclops:
