BlueAngel Refresh - same ROM's as in normal BA? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Hi,
I'm going to buy BlueAngel Refresh, in brand of Vodafone v1620. Can i use standard ROM's for BlueAngel on this device? It's having 520mHz processor instead of BA 400mHz... I can't find any information to figure this.
Regards!

This device is CDMA, so you must look for harrier rom

dopod 818/HTC prophet compatible with Tomtom 5 (5.2)?

Dear All,
In common with many of you (I'm sure), I am struggling with the choice between a Prophet and the Atom (or wait for the Hermes...?)
Pros:
camera (have seen great pictures from prophet)
wireless G
Quad band (not essential but nice to have)
Bluetooth 2
SD (currently 2 gig ultra, don't want to have to buy another one!)
Cons
No FM Radio
no flash (not fussed really)
Question over the Processor speed.
The big question, however, is whether either system will run TomTom 5 (or 5.2). This is the real go/no go app for me, and I would greatly appreciate anyone who has used either handset and can let me know whether they can run TomTom.
Many thanks in advance for your advice.

if it's possible, i hope someout out there wouldn't mind to make a rom....it would be greatly appreciated by filipinos
My guess - its too late. This model is not popular around here
I know this is a old thread. But..
Ive been looking around for a small smartphone that could be used to play my music and be used with my bluetooth headphones. Im using the blue angel at the moment and it works superb (except the ablity to use sdhc cards). But its just too big and im always worried if i crack the screen plus it looks pretty nerdy..
So i saw this phone.. Which is excazly what im after. (Which i might add is the only phone that has bluetooth and supports a sd cards).
But i see no one has made any upgrades for it?
Well ill just put it out there that if someone can make this phone to enable a2dp bluetooth profile and support sdhc sd cards (having windows mobile 5+ would be a bonus). Id have to say that this phone with an extended battery would be one of the best phones on the market today.
Ive just started doing a three year programming course at the moment. So if no one else is willing to program a rom. Then hopefully soon ill learn how to develop me own one

HTC Harrier.Developers where are you?

Developers where are you? If you are developers make plz updation to wm5 or wm6 on HTC Harrier, CDMA version of BA. Replace GSM module on wm5 or 6 in BA update into CDMA, and it will work =) Sorry for my English i'm from Ukraine. Please help =)
up up up up up
UP!! =))) ^^^^^^^
well if you read you will find out that there is no wm5/6/6.1 ever created for harrier device (or not even one wm5 rom have left microsoft labs)
also if you have been reading you wont spam the threads like this
I wont spam, but i want wm5 on my Harrier :'( Why GSM us Upgradebla but CDMA are not((
because before a few years wm5 rom for Blueangel leaked to the web and it is used as base rom for wm6 and wm 6.1, no such rom leaked for Harrier (we have no wm5 core for it (nk.exe) and no drivers for it)
BA is GSM version of HARRIER and i think all you need is port cdma driver(on example HTC apache) and change it in BA wm5
apache drivers are not compatible with harrier, so anyone do not need to port driver but rewrite one
Rewrite Harriers drivers like as Apache one =)
Since upgrading to an Apache, my Harrier has simply been a PDA. I have no need for CDMA. Is it possible to cripple the GSM on a Blue Angel ROM so I can install WM5/WM6/WM6.1 on my Harrier?

That is from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=302335
That is for the GSM version, Blue Angel. It will not work on Harrier, the CDMA version unless yopu can prove that it does via pictures.
Please edit your post and delete the link and info so you do not confuse Harrier owners. UNLESS you can prove otherwise.
I have not quite understand what you're asking!!!

Well- did you realise you replied to a post over 4 years old?
They were talking about the incompatibility of Blue Angel ROMs and Harrier.
Those two devices look similar from the outside, but are technically pretty different.
Somewhere around here is an illustrated thread about it. By me

Artemis Processor

Hey all,
I have a Blue Angel at the moment, 400MHz ARM processor.
How does the orbit processor 200MHz OMAP compare? I know the pseeds are different but so is the architecture...do they work out about the same or not?
I'm thinking baout buying an Orbit but just wanted to know what performance was like on these compared to an older model such as the Blue Angel.
Thanks!

Orbit 2 has a 400MHz processor
Yea I know but I didnt say orbit 2...
I wanted to know is there much different between the 2 processor I mentioned.
Not very different
I got a chance to play with HTC Tytan II and it seemed slower than artemis.
I have both a Blue Angel and Artemis, the only time you notice the difference is when you load up the Artemis with too many applications running at the same time, I think this is more to do with the available memory though.
The Artemis lacks memory whereby the Blue Angel had quite some to go at. Artemis is a great device as was the BA in its day, although I do still like the larger screen size of the BA when using it in the car.
Artemis is fine though with applications running so long as you close the applications when finished with them, install applications to the memory card to preserve the onboard memory and I doubt you would notice the difference between the BA and Artemis in use - Mike
Thanks Mike, that's the kind of comparison I was looking for!
The larger screens of the XDA pda's are ghreat but they're just a little too big and bulky now for carrying around in my pocket...looking for somehting a little smaller now...Orbit looks the goods...I dont need a slide out keyboard, I never use the one on the BA...
Artemis Processor,
Try following website and does all the specification comparison between different modles,

wow, great site, thanks!

Axim x5/x50 lcd mod

Would it be possible to pull the screen out of an x50v and put it into an x5 so that I can use vga mode in remotecontrol II on the x5?
It's not possible.
why is that? what are the limitations stopping me?
Every device have it's own display drivers. And as x5 is QVGA - OS is build with QVGA support.
You just can't swap LCDs. LCD conectors are different also.

If I was to overcome the connectors issue would it not be possible to modify the os to support it? Or would it be easier for someone to add support for cf ir extender in remotecontrol II for the x50v?
<thinking>good grief</thinking>
I don't think it would be possible due to hardware driver issues. The OEM is responsible for making the rom image, which includes both the hardware and software used. Since Dell only did qvga support that's what's going to work (plus, is vga even supported under WM2003? I know it's supported in WM2003 SE; this, and I don't think the pxa255 motherboard has support for vga either (I might be wrong on this one though)).
Now if you're going to be running Linux on the axim X5 (and you're willing to do the kernel compile and everything else), I can see a chance that it might work (but it's still mostly dim).

All i wanted was a vga universal remote control that uses the compact flash ir extender :-(
But x5 works with remotecontrol II and extender but its qvga and doesnt look too good and x50v works with remotecontrol II and vga and looks great but doesnt work with the ir extender so doesnt quite have the range that I need.
I contacted remotecontrol II and there not interested in adding support for the x50v ir extender, can someone here help??
Im going to turn this into a new thread so will add a linky to it, mods close this thread please#
