Why would you want to do that? It is still in BETA stage and battery drainage is completely high....unbelievably high.
If you still want to go with it 2 options:
1 - Buy a Android Phone if you love it so much.
2 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=601751
This link will give you the steps - this is what it has to say:
15.01.10 UPDATE NEW*GSM RAPH ONLY: MichyPrima has created a lite WinMo that automatically loads haret from your SD card. It loads pretty quick and i can confirm it works Give it a go if you're tired of waiting for WinMo to load. It now has a boot option so just wait until you see Booting countdown and touch the screen. It will offer 4 options
Reboot, Shutdown, USB mass Storage and Continue Booting Android
Best of Luck

man, can u make a rom based on wm6.5 look like android?

From my experience, the android rom by babijoee is good for daily uses. It's fast, and battery drain is not an issue any more.

I have been following the thread for Android on regular basis and i still see that Batter Drainage is an open issue where the chefs are trying to get a fix. I am sure if you use the Android...it will not last more than 3 hours!

Sorry to tell you that you are wrong. My diamond can use for 8 hrs (normal phone calls and sms, etc) using the latest build. I think you may have missed most of the threads talking about the latest development?

8 hour...sounds nice...would love to try that...you got the link for this build?

in my opinion because of the intense overheating that you can get if u use your phone like a dayli one ( internet ..bla bla bla) , yopu can damage it..
yesterday y was on the android on the net with my diamond and radio 1.13.25.55 the device uverheated and my touch went nuts....was not usable .. even in winmo..changed the rom ... the same..after changing the radio is ok now but i have a strange impresion that something is wrong with it because it overheats even in winmo...so:
thx very much to the guys that port android on our phones and can harddly whait to have it as a stand alone but..:|...for now i am not trying android anymore... this is only my opinion thx

What zimage were you using??? I was very surprised today when I started using this one: http://zimages.googlecode.com/svn/a...sm-android/zImage-modules-20100116_163203.tar
It doesn't run very hot anymore and speed is very good.

Diamond Android and HTC Sense

Hi!I just installed Android 2.0.1 on my Diamond with no problems at all(although the battery drains damn fast, camera and bluetooth kissed us goodbyes and GPS...wrong!)!
However, having used the Hero for a while now(I have both),I miss the Sense UI.I know I might be asking for a little too much,as it is still under development, but is there any way I can find an Android build with Sense?
Thanks in advance!

Hi
Sense isn't gonna be on the diamond for a while yet, check the main thread
If you used search, you would of found that out, please don't just make a new thread for everything
Badwolve1
has anyone had a look at THIS..i think if touch hd n rapheal can have it, we can also ( i got to the boot screen which kept looping at a lower res)
Do keep in mind that the diamonds RAM is a lot lower and the ram usage in android is not very good with the current builds..

Did you try the SensePack for Android?
Yeah,RAM is IMO the worst aspect of the diamond...192?What is that? That's not only an android problem!WinMo also has issues with lack of RAM,especially 6.5!
And btw the reason why I created this thread was that I couldn't find a satisfying answer to my question!
Anyway,I tried aHome Lite(full version and GDE are paid and currently not available here in Greece) and it crashed like ****.It only popped the well known message that the process ahome.blah blah blah is not responding.
A question I'd like to ask is whether it actually runs ON WinMo or is WinMo closing before Android boots?Anyway the ****ty amount of RAM makes it annoying whatever the case is!

I got to the main screen of Sense Hero..
1 - changed startup.txt : mtype to 1805
2 - i took the zimage from latest eclair (Keep the same if you want to)
3 - while booting it got stuck to HTC shiny screen so i deleted the Swapfile and tried...it booted up but PATIENCE is what we need. it takes a longtime and too much of Lag.
lets keep trying it...Best of luck!
There are android phones with the same amount of ram as the diamond (ie. galaxy/spica). So it should do fine but the build is just an early alpha . Patience patience..
Nickschot I hope you're right! It's such a nice phone! Why would it get stuck with WinMo 6.1(because 6.5 isn't it's thing) and get no attention?
Anyway...Will try Sensepack...Be back for report!
Well...First off it's laggy and buggy as **** and using it really needs patience! However as I see that's because of Sense...Is there any way to disable it?It appears to be working better than bare android...

Yes Data and sensepack gets created .... Yes it came in as a fullscreen but it was too laggy so decided to put a hold on to it...will stick to Android Eclair testing as of now...
I suppose I too will stick with Eclair(vanilla) cause sense messes things up really much...Right now, except for unbearable lagging and countless bugs Sense doesn't support fullscreen so you have to turn it off,Wi-Fi doesn't work(unlike vanilla Eclair which has a pretty much normal connection) and many things cause Android to reset. So I came to think...Android is really nice and functional without Sense!
However,is there any way to port Hero's look to the diamond?Without Sense crap.As long as the device is recognised as the Hero it seems to work better, more smoothly and fluid...Plus I love the black menus!

Try Panda Home from Market Place and search for Hero Theme.....
Dude...I didn't know about panda home!It kicks ass!And it's really light!Less lag!And to think I was stuck with aHome Lite as my home replacement...Of course aHome full and GDE(?) must be better, however there are no paid apps available for Greece yet!

Feedback of Android 2.0.1 on Fuze

Hi installed Android 2.0.1 on my Fuze
Issues Found
- Consumes 4 times battery than windows
- When we put screen off, the round bottom light keeps blinking(Same as when we charge in windows)
- No option to switch off
- No option to go back or close a window from touch screen
- After some hours phone hangs up you need to remove battery to restart windows.
Pros
- Amazing graphics
- Very fast as compared to windows 6.1
Question
- Now to remove this should I just the android related files from Sd card, nothing needs to be removed from phone memory am I right ?
But I wish I could install a better working version of Android on my Fuze because despite of all bugs I am loving it

Well of course this has many bugs cuz this is not a native android device, also u should credit the develepors for their hard work this isnt really easy at all, also over the past months it has been improving greatly, and since u want to remove android from ur phone unfortunatley, all u must do is remove the android realated files like haret or android apps.

- People get 15 hours + of battery, so considering that it is a work in progress, that's very good.
- The light is a debugging thing, it means that your phone is in deep sleep (that's good) it's a LED light and barely makes any difference on battery life and you CAN turn it off if you want to, read the main thread.
- No, no such option for now, but as i said it's a work in progress for now.
- That's not even related to the port, that's just how Android is.
- No need to remove the battery, you can just press the reset hole.
- Yes, just the files from the SD card, nothing is saved on the phone's memory.
Why don't you learn to read a thread before installing a non native OS onto a phone. All the points you brought up were or are bugs that are known. If you don't like it get it off your phone and be done with it. No need to start another thread only to rehash what is already known.

I am in the same boat with you. I just keep updating it. It used to be pretty good Battery and stuff but the newer updates just aren't as efficient. I'll keep updating mine untill I get the money to just buy the damn NEXUS ONE since now they have an AT&T version that supports 3G
The original threads warned that Android on your WinMo device is merely proof of concept and experiment and was in no way meant to replace WinMo as your full time operating system on your device. I think the developers have made fantastic strides in the performance of Android on the FUZE given that they have managed to put an OS on a device that does not support it with neither hardware or software. And maybe it's just me, but if you have the right ROM WinMo 6.1 can be pretty fast (I haven't had such luck with WinMo 6.5, but I like 6.1 anyway)
Android has worse battery life than WinMo. I tried both Android devices on Sprint and even Android 1.5 is a hog. My neighbor just purchased the latest Android device Verizon released on Thursday and he is complaining of charging at 3PM everyday.
I've read all the threads and come to release Android on our devices is merely experimental. If you think its going to work flawlessly then you're not that bright. If I really need an Android device then I'll buy one. In fact I may try the EVO under the 30 day trial just for fun. I am interested in 720p / HDMI video recording, video call and other new features.
For everyone reading this post you know this guy only joined to complain or discurruge people from using it. Member with only 1 post trying to review software that was neer made to run on a specific hardware. Only a idiot would consider his words useful. Basically all he did was complain so that he could ask a question and get people to answer him without searching.

I dont understand all these roms :(

hi all, if im right then my warrenty on my TP2 finishes in september.
So what im looking to do is stick a new cooked rom on there.
im pi55ed off with my phone because its sooo slow and it keeps failing on me but i dont want to get rid of it really because 99% of my friends either have crackberrys or ipoones and i want to be different.
i am a complete n00b with all the techy stuff like tweeking the phone.
I have a few questions for people with cooked roms
1 - what sort of memory does your rom run at?
2 - how long does your battery last and on what type of usage?
3 - do you need to keep doing soft re-sets?
4 - is your new rom quick and reliable?
5 - are all the features quick and realiable such as bluetooth?
i think thats it for now, i will start looking into the roms more from now on so i can hopefully just do it once and do it right the first time.
however if there are any chefs in london who are willing to build me a complete custom rom then PM me and we will discuss it further about the rom and pricing for your time ect...
THANKS in advance!!
1. The memory of some chef's ROMs can run as low as 40% on startup, moving up to about 50-60%. It depends. Look for the "lite" or "clean" ROMs for better memory.
2. The battery lasts me all day, heavy use through texting, phone calls, and internet. Using GPS, I'd imagine your battery would die fast, and phone calls don't seem to last longer than 3 hours before needing to be recharged.
3. Sadly, soft resets are needed for almost every WinMo device. That's the downside of all WinMo devices, though on the plus side, you get infinite customizability.
4. One of the most reliable ROMs with the most features is Valkyrie's ROM by Agent_47. I'm honestly no fanboy, but I have tried everyone else's ROMs, normal version, not lite or clean, and they all lack, or are crippled.
5. I don't use bluetooth, but wifi, phone signal, and GPS signal depend really on what radio you use. The different radios can be found in the ROM section. I use the most current one, .77, and I get good strength on all of the above.
thanks for the info, heres a bit more about my phone and its uage atm...
on the stock rom im using with using cleanram my phone runs around 60% - 70% but startup is just over 40%
Also i found my battery lasted 2 days when i had a 2gb card and now just over a day if im lucky with the 8gb card, so i may change it for a 4gb card which should be enough space for me.
Well, some clean and lite ROMs have as much as 80 MB free at start up (meaning, I believe that you would only have 20% on startup; any members can correct me if I'm wrong). I have only had 40% at most at startup, because I use feature packed ROMs.
I don't know anything about the SD card using more phone power, but you can give the 4 GB card a try. I get over 2 days on minimum usage with an 8 GB SD card. With max usage, as I said, I get about a full days use, with around 40-50% of battery life left.
also if anyone is local to me and wouldnt mind letting me have a quick play with there tp2 with a cooked rom to see how different it is to stock then please PM me
i went into a vodafone store today to double check about my warrenty, but after the 12 months manufacturer warrenty is over then vodafone have their own warrenty to cover the phone untill my contract is over.
now i know this im unsure if i should flash my rom now incase i do have anymore problems with the phone ??
what do you all suggest?
Just do the flash and get it over with You only have ONE first flash and then after that everything wont be as stressfull..
Also.. if you want to see what custom roms look like running on the phone just search for some custom roms on youtube. I'm sure you'll see some there. You'd get a more thurough view of what they do then if you were just bumbling around with it for 5 minutes on your own.
fair enough, i need to get my compuuter working then i guess to flash it!!
when tmo had a rom flash from wm 6.1 to 6.5, all i had to do was download the file...why are these roms on here implemented differently...???

Because custom ROM's don't have the critical "signature" that can only come from the manufacturer or carriers themselves. The stock SPL won't allow ROM's that don't have that signature, so that's why you have to replace SPL with a custom one when you want to flash ROM's issued by anybody than the carriers or HTC.
Sorry for the threadjack... but i was wondering the same things as the topic starter...
May i just add a few more questions?
*Roms like Energy, do they support BT and GPS?
*Is the problem with the sms lag (phone not waking on receiving) solved by a cooked rom?
*What are the major drawbacks when switching for standard to cooked? Ok the waranty is cancelled but anymore?
*I have a WWE version with WM6.5 ==> can i only install rom for 6.5 or can i install roms based on 6.1?
*I've looked at radios and the compatiblitylist... does this mean i have to install the wwe radio to get my device working?
feel free to ask questions here about roms ans im interested in the answers too
also the other week i saw a thread that had 2 cabs that make the TP2 run quicker and i had to get off of the laptop and now i cant find it. does anyone know what i mean if so can you help me locate the cabs.

I don't know about two cabs to make it run faster, but there's two that will help with the memory management and help keep more of it free for you, is that what you're thinking about? They're called the SSK Dynamic Resource Proxy cab and the no push internet cab.
I recently flashed deepshining x7 rom and I can't believe I waited so long. My TP2 feels faster and I love all the options available such as Cookie's home tabe editor and the such. If you haven't already done so, I suggest you flash. You can always flash back to the original if you don't like it.

You bet! And yeah, these are the first two cabs I recommend all new Rhodium owners run...I don't know if they'll clear up all your issues, but you should at least see a significant change in available RAM.
Ive just put them onto my phone and doing a soft reset!
Ive also changed to the windows today menu last night and its running a bit better with that!!

[Q] WMO or Android?

i would like to post this thread to ask all the PRO here,
what would u pick if i ask you to just select one OS for ur Ralph?
WinMo?
Android 2.2?
i am seriously thinking to change it from WinMo.
what do you think?
myself will be switching perm to android on my raph very soon as progress has moved forward alot on it only a couple things like camera and battery life ..but from what i understand they may be close to working and fixed
meego for opengles v2
But seriously android.
but yeah seriously i dont know anyone whos tried android and wants to go back to slow crappy winmo.
I can totally agree on it!
From the early stage of kaiser android development, even with almost nothing working, it was still better then winmo. Now kaiser is working cometely and its way better then winmo.
Im not using my touch pro as a phone right now (primarilly because of battery life), but as soon as thats fixed its donating time again and switching to android on touch pro.
Does anyone know the progress on nand for touch pro (and could the same menu from kaiser be used for it to install?)?
Sent from my Full Android on Vogue using XDA App
As soon as Android is flashable - it's bye-bye WinMo for me...
Once camera is working and better battery management levels are obtainable on my touch pro, i won't be going back. I already love everything about android and the games and apps i've been using.
OH, and my whole data signal just stopping after some time for no reason, even though my sprint APN still shows and is checked.
how about run on system memory
anyone know the diff between running the android from memory or from the system memory, will we gain extra speed if we use the system to run?
and will that damage the winmo OS if so?
thanks in advance.
p.s. the launcher pro is expired and i want to install a new one but it will need me to remove/uninstall the previous one.
i try the "application manager" in "settting" but i can't select the "uninstall"
any expert can teach me how?
million thanks in advance.
It's not Ralph, it's Raph
But seriously, I prefer Android more. I use it daily and it rocks!

Yeah, i've been highly following and testing viruscrazy's kernel, and it's awesome compared to stock, but he even mentioned you can't use his stuff along with the newest 2.2 (sept.16 release) since there are lot's of new differences that would cause problems. But until then, his stuff does make a huge difference in properly registering battery level's (within 10% tolerance on my touch pro at least, much better even on other devices.)
Bluetooth also needs some work. I'm not sure the FM radio works in Android.
i'm kinda noobie here..
Are all the application we can use in android can also be use in xdandroids?

Eh, for the most part... Not every app will work guaranteed tho. Just try it out, let us know how it works...
I don't get why you posted this question in this thread tho!
wow, i´m really excited to read this posts! i've had my raph for 2 days now and i am really happy with it already flashed winmo 6.5 but i'm really anxious to try out android
I have a question. I have a brand new never activated or used sealed touch pro that I'm thinking about opening and activating just so I can use android on it. But I wanna know is the phone going to have the same battery over heating and freezing issues if I'm using android as if when wm is used. Is those problems os related of phone hardware related?
if so I rather use android on the touch vogue if I'm going have the same over heating issues on the touch tiamond andtouch pro. Or just use wm on my yreo pro.

Vogue port is basically complete as I understand it. Can't guarantee you won't have issues on your TP. This devices port isn't quite done yet...
the statistical numbers are: winmo:21 vs android 46.
Well, have to say people came to this thread since they like android and use android daily, so the testing result may not be true. It should be more correct by making this survey on the first Fuze discussion site (let Fuze winmo users and android users vote together), just my $.02
For me, 1st Fuze is a phone, dialing effect, talking time and standby time are the most important things to me; 2nd it is an email receiver, web browser; 3rd it is a GPS; 4th, a toy that I can play (games or a brick I can throw )
Android has smoother touch feeling and nicer looking, but for the short battery life and no camera fixed, I will still using my winmo for now.
Windows mobile.
Android is still lacking.. touch screen issues, camera. Our devices dont have a compass. So none of the augmented reality programs will run on our phone.
Ive never been able to get the touch screen to work to my liking. Ive done the touch configuration literally 100s of times. The screen is still off when i touch it. (holding down an icon to move/delete can be very frustrating)
I use Android to play a few media apps (iheartradio) that we just dont have on WM. Other than that, I boot back to WM.

[Q] How is android supposed to run?

I have tried both a Froyo variant and a Gingerbread variant on my Diamond but for me its not usable at all .. It lockups every 30 seconds for like 1 minute. Just when my devices screen goes black i am barely able to turn it back on again.
Now im not complaining about the devs work here, dont take it that way.. I just want to know if its supposed to run this way or if its something i do wrong?

Is it usable on a day to day basis or is it still heavily in development? Can't find that much information on it to be honest.

The usability has definitely increased over the years but it is still more a concept than a real operating system as the hardware and software dont work together very well. This is because there are no official kernels, drivers or anything provided by HTC. The xdandroid team has done an incredible work to get android running on this device, but they couldnt find a way to properly get android on the NAND because the storage is too small. Thats also why you have to start it via windows mobile and cant directly boot to it, it runs out of the SD Card. So you will never achieve a nice performance as long as the OS isnt located on the NAND. The lags and force closes you are certainly experiencing derive from this problem. The device itself would definitely have the power to run android at an acceptable performance.
As far as I know the development has ceased. If you search the corresponding threads you will find the statement of the devs. Here is were you can look:
