Apparently they are using our dash as a testbed for windows 7 platform (not a full rom), it definitely looks greats, probably we can see this early next year since WM is loosing a lot of ground with android.
If that is true, then we can hope that we will have funcional WM7 ROM with so many great chefs here.
Moto MPx200 was used for testing WM5, and it got funcional WM5 ROM.

I don´t know if it will be possible, given the hardware´s age. In fact, you should take a read on this article from WMexperts saying that no device available today is (or will be) able to run WM7.

i sold my Motorola Mpx200 with WM5 operating ROM, it needed the SD card ALLWAYS in the phone cause system files where there!!

i truly agree with u all people talk bout is android iphone an blackberry i used to have a blackberry i dont see wat so great with it WM has ton more apps and customization u can do to the phone and i just think windows dug a deeper hole with there WM7... nothing against windows i still bought the hd2 probably last window phone ill buy unless they step up an make a phone that compete with iphone and android...
just my preference
i would love to hav this even if its not fully functional just to see what w7 feels like

The hd2 is a great device, it will be the first device capable of running 3 OS (WM, Android and WM7). I'm still sticking with WM for a while but will definitely get an android phone in the near future. Regarding the dash with WM7, I really doubt we can see something since hardware will not allow...but a theme can be a possibility.
Not that anybody would even think it and i'm probably pointing out the obvious, but there's no hope for microsoft even bringing out 7 updates for even the latest phones, which is sad. The HD2 wasn't allowed one because it apparently didn't have the right button layout. (I mean come on.) I wish microsoft would just release some of this software for dated phones like the Dash, just for us to have a play around with.

The URL is 4 days old..?! Not really "pretty damn old". And yes, those screens in ur link look nice, but they are jailbroken..soooo...that isn't quite the same. U don't need to root ur android, to change icons, Widgets, themes etc..

Soon apparently. I love my gs2, and have no desire to go back to a iOS device BUT don't forget how far ahead the iphone was in 2007 when it came out. Apple is a wildcard and can come out of nowhere with some amazing tech. That said I don't think ios5 will draw many android users back, its just to late.
This is why android open source will eventually bring the sales of iphones to rock bottom..
There are so many factors why android is far superior ..
The only people that buy iphones are the ones that had no interest in changing there phones..
Lets not forget though that the iphone set the ball rolling for all our phones ...
Saying that...it didn't really warrant a new thread in the SGS 2 themes thread..you should of posted in the iphone forums ..

I customised my homescreen for my iphone 4 when i had it and i actually went and changed a lot of the default icons from the ones i picked. It took me a while to figure out where the system folders were kept to change each icon individually.
with android every home screen is pretty much different.
I heard the IOS 5 will support Widgets and better notifications as part of the change list.

I dislike the title of this thread. Espeically in a WP7 forum. If they are "copying" then it just shows how good the people are they are copying it from. iOS needed to keep up with the latest standards and its good to have competition.

that's just it save from notifications and text only browser, a lot of things are offered in wp7 mango natively...so what's the point? I mean the main problem I have is that apple is still app centric. Yes its finally doing a lot with regards to integration, but is it enough? I'm not sure
I don't mind having a discussion on this I bought my sister an ipad so the ios info is good for me to know...
In many ways it seems that apple has finally caught up to microsoft and google in terms of OS integration and consumer demand...only took 4 years

I saw the title of this and came by, really from my reading on this apple didn't show me anything that wp7 doesn't support natively or will. Its good they updated their approach keeps people on their toes but your title is wow.

Can I just say I've never owned an iPhone or an Apple product for that matter and my last 3 phones have been Windows Phones. Still doesn't prevent me from seeing what others are doing right, the opposite would actually make me a fanboy.

I have owned every major phone OS (Smartphone) in US, and WP7 just works for me I have had android and IOS both are great at what they do give me apps that do what I need at that time. Now to touch base with a couple of things we are all wrong in the respect of what is better for this guy is better for that. Everything is based on perception on how it feels to the consumer, and most comparisons on phone stuff is based on what someone shows us at a given time. I pleaded my case with Windows Mobile time and time again when I was with ATT and then the new Phone OS came out with features I already had, the biggest is (tethering) but people tend to go with whats cool and who is using what. Apples biggest advantage by far is accessories I buy one and it works on all my iphones, ipods, etc that is the only advantage I see apple having right now. (I hope this is still on topic I jabber alot)

Actually, Copy Paste is there sincer iOS 3. 2 years from now. But I think they copied exactly Android. In a beautiful way, of course.
Still, I prefer Mango than iOS 5 (;

I see what your saying about the iOS so know that one person fully agrees with you.
I don't see a problem with them copying anything? Really, what they are copying is exactly what they needed to make a well rounded OS. It would be very foolish of them to just look at what they need and push it aside. I say, iOS 5 is gonna be insane.
I would also like to add that I kinda predicted their new notification system in another thread on here. And yes, I do want a cookie
There's a lot of stuff WP7 Mango does that ios doesnt do- Threads that integrate your SMS, IM's, Facebook chat, People hub where you can see your history with a person including calls, texts, pictures, bing extras, local scout, native Office, Xbox live (8 new games here http://www.winrumors.com/8-new-xbox-live-enabled-windows-phone-7-games-revealed-at-e3/), IE9 with hardware acceleration - looking at ios5 I cant think of anything that it now has that really trumps Mango.
apple added features from other OS's but even then WP7's integration is second to none and still comes out on top for me.
I don't see much difference in terms of features between iOS5 and Mango (there are areas where each one is better than the other), but that's certainly bad for Mango. It's not enough to have feature parity with the leader to beat it, especially when media calls iOS5 "massive" and Mango "underwhelming".
I understand the sentiment and agree but dont think the title gave the thread much chance..
If its the ultimate there is no reason for anyone to buy any other device.
One thing is good though - it'll be much easier for Microsoft to explain what Windows Live is. Their Marketing and PR people should commit harakiri, I think. One cannot live with such shame.
Off topic: Windows Mobile had copy and paste and Multi-tasking since forever. So I don't know what all the praise for iPhone is/was all about. I also believe what Microsoft really needs to work on is their Marketing department. I think that's just where Apple beats them.

iOS5 looks like a cracking upgrade for people who already own iOS devices, or are heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem. It's fan service, rather than something that will bring in new customers by the droves.
I've got to say though, it does tempt me back towards an iPhone. If they had a Zune Pass style music subscription service I might have made the jump with the iPhone 5, though there's a few other features I'd like to see. WebOS-style linking between phone and tablet for a start.
Mango looks like a stronger update, but starting from a weaker position. Microsoft also seem to lack a real platform currently. They've got lots of small projects going on, but it's a bit disjointed. My Windows Phone, Windows PC and Xbox 360 don't really play nice together and I'm yet to see a Windows Tablet that I want to buy. Windows 8 needs to hurry up...

In that video, only the homescreen was the OS. THe other 2 screens were "Cascades" App demos, which is their NDK UI Engine. BBX/BB 10 does not look like WP.
So what exact part of that clip is the "tile ripoff"?
Those buyout and "RIM is dying" comments are kind of funny. MS would LOVE RIM's marketshare, especially in the corporate market.

it is more of an ripp off of webos but i actually like the os (qnx... os 1 at least, not sure how i like the "improvements" with os2)
what you saw what could be seen as tilesbut only if you are despirate is in one app, in the browser i would say. that is just a visualization of tabs.
it only is missing pretty much standards apps like skype which is really said. pretty good flash vid player thow.

I read this post. Felt it was unfair if I didn't try it. And I did the update today on mom's fruit phone. And yes IOS7 pictures have been flying all over the Internet since it first made its debut. And they've been comparing it to Android showing it'd a complete knock off. Then again this is cooks way of using Jobs version of 'We're very proud about stealing ideas' but what makes me want to burn the company to the ground is when their moron of a spokesperson goes and says in the first minute with a bloody white background 'Apple had been trying to innovative,_______ the first of its kind.' I hate that line with a passion!

The task manager is more of a rip off of webOS than android. I remember when iOS got the notification drawer. I thought that was very Android-like. I've never liked Apple or their products. I hate that Apple seems to be pushing the 5C more than the 5S right now. The 5C is the only commercial I have seen on TV so far. Thats messed up for people who dont follow this stuff. Most people are probably thinking that thats the new upgrade to their iPhone 5 which, in reality, is the same exact phone with a cheaper casing. I dont even know why Apple is advertising that thing. iOS 7 is nothing special. Just a redesigned OS that does the same stuff. But I guess you cant really do all that much when your OS is nothing but icons on a background. But whatever, I will never own an Apple product. Rant over. lol

from my point, i prefer android, it will be cheap if you get a android tablet.
IOS7 is really nice. That saying, Android has copied many things from iOS whether you believe it or not. It is now going the other way around. Apple has really integrated and optimized everything though.

thats true, but iOS is still a limited os in every aspect..android with the nexus google experience, and not the crap samsung series, it's only getting better and better over years
Let Apple copy everything, it won't make much difference if they don't have comparable hardware and get rid of iTunes crapware.
Also having Apple around is better for Android since that means we'll just benefitting by getting better/sooner updates/improvements.
They're advertising the 5c because higher profit margins. Its the phone that will go head to head with android in developing countries markets I.e. India and China.

The iPhone 5c is still $749 in Australia yet only $99 in the US, I don't see why they call it a budget iPhone lol.

You may as well get the iPhone 5s if crapple are only offering the iPhone 5c cheap to US customers, anyway I have iOS 7 on my iPad Mini an its garbage, android looks like its been brought back from 10 years ahead into the future an created by a super intellegent alien race when compared to boring old iOS 7 of today made by a bunch of primate's.
Also the new iTunes radio feature is only available to US users of crapple, when apple says iOS 7 brings over 200 new features you know they mean 200 more bugfixes an jailbreak proof.
The only apps worth having an that I use on my iPad Mini are actually made by google an I would gladly trade my iPad for a Samsung galaxy tab any day of the week .

I really do hope ios7+ improves the iPhone. This will push Android and other mobile OS's to improve. Notice how Android devices improved drastically since the iPhone 4. Not that Android is getting stale. No matter android or iOS is not going anywhere anytime soon.
On a side note it is frustrating to an extent how much Apple borrowed from android but what ever it's about time they did something. God forbid they they invest money in improving their product rather than sue competition. Which definitely considering Samsung's success.
