Wireless Data not working. :/ - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Android Development

Previously I had no sound working and it was the radio. (Had original stock radio/rom) I upgraded to official AT&T 6.1 rom with whatever radio it came with (Can't recall which) and now data won't work. This is all with Android only, works fine with windows mobile. I want to get the latest radio BUT everytime I flash HardSPL it crashes before it starts. >:-(

So you're unable to flash the latest 1.71.X radio? I found that everything worked fine with that one. What version of Android are you using?

If you can't even flash HardSPL, you're doing something wrong.

baseband query

i've flashed a number of radios to my gsm hero, all the raio versions end with a U as in xxx.xxx.xx.eu/xxx.xxx.xx.iu/xxx.xxx.xxx.xxju
currently just flashed the ju radio, but now when i view the baseband version in the settings menu in either modaco or the new kugadroid roms the baseband says 63.18.55.06jh_6.35.08.29
is there anything causin this, or is this normal behaviour?
reason i'm asking is i'm having some wifi problems and trying to locate the cause
(currently turning on wifi on the kugadroid rom causes the rom to reboot, but when i first flashed the baseband said ju, and worked, now it's says jh and reboots the phone)
this happened to me aswell. flashed JU, then suddenly it read JH. if you flash JU again it should read JU again. sorry can't help with your problems, luckily i *never* had any problems with radio whatsoever...
yeah, but it's not just with ju radio, also happens with iu radio and fu radio too.
baseband keeps saying ih,fh or jh (depending on the radio rom)
would love to know what is causing it.
could it be by any chance having the newer spl posted by modaco on nov 24th causing this issue?
not sure. i have the spl too, and it happened to me only once. then again i don't flash radio unless there is a newer version or a rom forces me to use a specific version.

same here. only flash radio rom to update or if new rom requires it.
and now, here's the thing, i flashed with the FU radio earlier, and it's remaining as FU (which is good) but i'm stll getting issues with WiFI -- mainly messages like " Unable to start Wi-Fi", or "Unable to stop Wi-Fi"
it's rather frustrating and i can't seem to find the source of the issue at all.

Cannot get location to work anymore

I started out with a Vodafone AU
Firmware 1.85.861.3 CL331649
Radio 12.28.h.60.140fU_26.06.02.27_M
Then I flashed CM7 - didn't take not of the radio version but location stopped being found on google maps etc.
so flashed Virtuous 1.0.2 which uses radio 12.28b.60.140eP_26.03.02.26_M
still no location found.....
I tried flashing radio 12.28h.60.140fP+26.06.02.27_M and leaving Virtuous 1.0.2 on, still nothing...
Don't have a backup of my original vodaphone stock firmware but I guess I could flash a 1.34 stock or something... I'm on my ~5th flash today though and I'm running out of patience. is there something I'm missing that stops the location function working?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1028405
I ended up putting CM7 back on (which uses 12.28.h.60.140fU_26.06.02.27_M by the way, didn't know that until the 2nd time I flashed it) and it works fine now, I guess wiping the phone enough times got rid of the EFS data?

Couple of issues with Wifi/Radio updates

So I recently installed MIUI, and as soon as I did my Wifi radio stopped working. Every time I try to switch it, it turns back off and says "error."
I figured this was a problem with my radio (26.02.01.15_M2) when I found another irksome problem. When I go to flash PC10IMG.zip the bootloader gets to "Checking PC10IMG.zip) and then quits and refuses to attempt the update.
Any ideas?
I apologize if this question has been asked, but I couldn't find anything similar in the short search I did.
Thanks in advance!
Could be a bad download? Which Radio are you trying to flash?
Download the radio from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970809
Dont know what ROM you are running but Vision_Radio_12.52. 60.25_26.08.04.30 seems to be a good one, download the attached file for wiping the EFS(Important when flashing radios)
The link has further instructions and information, hope that helps
Hey, thanks for your response! I actually tried three different Radios from that thread (the first three), and none of them worked. I ran an efs wipe yesterday because I was having GPS problems, and these problems persisted after that...
FWIW, when I flash other kernels/ROMs, things work fine (CM7, PyroMod, Stock) but on MIUI these problems crop up.

Do you mean you can update the radio with other ROMs or do you mean that the wifi problem is only on MIUI?If your problem is only with MIUI cant help as I dont use that ROM but still doesnt explain your problem with flashing a radio as the bootloader is independent of the ROM
I think the wifi radio and the cellular radio are different and when you flash the radio firmware, it only updates the cellular radio firmware. Someone more knowledgable than me will probably correct me. It's probably something screwy with the MIUI roms which is effecting you. If you want to use MIUI then try one of the other MIUI roms that are out there and also notify the developer of the MIUI rom your using about your issue.
I hate the recent radios for G2 latest one from Bell sucks. Signal drops every few seconds, data connection is just OK. Very disappointed. I did the efs wipe and auto ril matcher V6 and all this other bs and I hate it.

Update Kernel/radio questions

Hi,
As above..
I've had my desire rooted for ages now running lots of different roms, very happy with how awesome the phone is, especially running ics.
Just wondering if there's any point in flashing the kernel... everything has worked great when I've just flashed the rom in the past, never had any issues (full wipe almost every time).
Also re flashing the radio, is there any major benefit to this?
Cheers
Updating the radio can improve reception/battery life/wifi reception. I have tried updating the radio once and because i was hoping to improve things. After testing the radio everything looked fine until i put it to everyday use. Everytime i called someone/receieved calls as well my call will drop out every 10-15mins for everyone. After a week of use i decided to go back to my original radio. So flashed radio and installed the correct ril file and started using it normally. Everything was back the way it was. So no drop outs and everything was fine. So for me i decided to stick with my original radio. So after i flash any rom i would just install the ril file that was for my radio version.
So it's up to you if you want to try a new radio. If it works, GREAT. If it doesn't, well at least you learnt something new (meaning you know how to flash a radio and revert back). Make sure you find a copy of your original radio/ril files before updating. It really helps!!!!

WiFi not working on HTC one m8

Hi I pretty much know nothing about custom roms etc but I was forced to go for a custom ROM due to a friend wiping my phone but when I flashed Viper 3.2.1 everything was fine except the wifi button was greyed out, I also tried android revolution and the same problem occured. However it was fine when i tried candy5 but once i flashed google play the wifi stopped working again.
Does anyone know what the problem is and how i should fix it? thanks.
Hope you are on latest 4.4.4 firmware , link for the same should be in OP/FAQ of Viper.

If you are only unlocked and not s-off you will need to manually flash the corresponding boot.img for each rom each time you flash a new rom. If you can get s-off you won't need to do this anymore.
Firmware needs to be updated. Confirmed on OP's other thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/htc-one-m8-bricked-t2989202/page2
Also its not necessary to manually extract and flash boot.img on the M8, even when s-on. Folks giving this advice may be carrying over knowledge from an older HTC device.
