Strange red line on camera shots - Desire General

Hi all!
I just got my Desire yesterday and haven't had the time to root it yet.
When mocking around with the camera i noticed that on the screen there was a red line fairly centered. My initial thoughts was that this was like a center measuring point or something, but it turns out is sticks on the actual photos taken, like on the attached pictures (that are _completely_ untouched).
It's a bit transparent, so it's almost as if it's a line drawn by a red very thin marker.
It still shows after flipping the back cover off, and I can't see a drawn line on the actual optic (just tried with a regular magnifying glass ... nothing fancier than that).
Anyone had this same problem?
I'm thinking of sending it back since it seems to be a HW-defect, but just wanted to check in with you guys first

Screen Issues - Blistering?

Hi all
I have had my Galaxy Nexus for near to 5 months now and it appears to have developed an unusual fault on the screen. I have been contemplating taking in in for repair/replacement for a while now after the screen has a single dead pixel, but a few days ago I noticed that I have what appears to be two blisters or bubbles in the screen just below the top surface. I don't have a screen protector so I'm not being dim.
I have cleaned the screen several times with the usual screen cleaning products as well as car polish and a tiny bit of T-Cut, all of which have made no difference at all. I am also certain that it is not a scratch or other mark as when the screen gets greasy you can clearly see the smudges across the mark which wouldn't happen if it was a scratch or the like.
I have attached a few photos of the mark, which I have circled to identify. Thanks for reading this I would like to know if anyone else has encountered this sort of issue before or whether this is a case of me being pedantic. My concern is that i don't want to send the phone in for repair/replacement for a few weeks to a month without me being certain that it will get fixed and the whole ordeal to be for nothing.
Again many thank in advance for your help and advice.
James

[Q] Faint vertical lines on screen

Hi guys, I don't quite now how to explain this, but I'll give it my best. I've had my g3 for almost two weeks now and I've started to notice very faint vertical lines on the screen when on a white background, I can see them right now while writing this. It also happens in the settings screen. I'm not certain if there's something wrong or if it's always been this way and I hadn't noticed. Has anyone else noticed this? I wouldn't even say the line have a colour, it's just an alternate of darkish and white lines. I could just be looking too close, but I'm not certain.
Also I have noticed a slight black blur when using knock code, like when you would touch an old lap top screen, although a lot fainter. It only happens in one little section of the screen, but I noticed it when using the white stock wallpaper. It only seems to happen when I tap for knock code and I have noticed it when I apply slight pressure to that area. I have been delicate with the touch screen since, but I don't believe I used much pressure in the first place.
Hope I explained it well enough. Anybody else noticed anything similar? Am I being paranoid and these things normal?
There is large discussion on the "lines." I see them too, but think it is a result of the resolution itself. Nobody can say/prove what it is AFAIK.
If I press real hard on the screen in certain spots, it seems like I can replicate the second thing you're talking about. If yours does it when just lightly tapping, I'd exchange it.

Hi,
Thanks for replying. I'm glad that the 'lines' aren't just in my imagination. Can you point me in the direction of the discussion on the lines?
I bought the phone online, but took into the store today to compare it to their demo model. It definitely doesn't have the same issue when I tap it. The salesperson wasn't sure what it was but she's going to send it in for repair/replacement. It sucks... now I'm going to have to wait till I get it back. The shop said they would have replaced it on the spot if I hadn't bought it online but from the store too.
Hopefully they get it back to me quick.
I hope no one else has this problem.
I think it's not the resolution itself, it's more about the software or kernel or something, LG implemented an oversharping thing which makes texts appear too sharp, but it's not only about texts, it's about the overall display! Notice when you scroll through LG Health page, you can see the lines moving, or changing in visibility, etc..
I have the same issue on my phone. There are very faint vertical lines most apparent on white and green colors and they seem to be rainbow colored. I have seen this issue with the at&t, t-mobile, and sprint versions of the G3 which my friends have.
It's not caused by the over sharpening effect because even after I flashed a fix for it, it still appears.
Almost as if it's like one of those 3d card/poster effects.
Hi guys,
is there any news on any fix on this?
I have the same problem. Should I RMA my phone?

Display issues

Hi,
I've just noticed that on the left hand side of my screen I have a vertical bar around 2mm wide that looks corrupted in some way - like filled with horizontal hatched lines that I'm assuming are defective pixels or similar. It's a bit hard to describe, and even harder to get a decent photo of the problem. The attached is the best I could do.
The issue seems to be there all of the time, but is less noticeable on solid white / black backgrounds than it is on block colours.
Is this likely to be hardware issue, and would it be covered under UK warranty?
Thanks
cjc.

That definitely looks like a faulty panel. Nothing like that on my 10 (Carbon Grey, Tianma).
I'd get in touch with HTC UK and see what they think.
I have exactly the same issue and i've had my phone a week. I didn't notice it at first but it's definitely more noticeable on non white backgrounds, i've checked it with a screen tester which you can go through blocks of colour with. I also have the same slight dip in the top left.
How has your warranty claim gone with HTC? I'm going to try phoning them up today. I bought my phone from Very.co.uk but would rather deal directly with HTC.
Following this as well as I have stuck pixels in the middle of the screen. Very have been difficult to deal with so I'd really like to know how things go with HTC UK
Hey just as a follow up. very.co.uk refunded me with no questions asked. They don't do replacements so you have to re-order.

Screen warp?

My screen seems to be showing a bit of warping right at the bottom of the screen near the back and home buttons, right on the edge of the screen. Not so much that you notice but it warps the light if you use the screen to reflect the world, and only in that spot. Bit disappointed considering its a totally flat piece of glass!
Anyone else got this issue? Might get onto three about it. I'll see if it's widespread first.
I'll try get a picture later, or video if I can.
Warped like raised wavy or warped like wrapped screen that goes downwards into it at the edge? If either of those makes sense..
I saw that when in 120hz mode, but it looked more like an intended effect to me. It wasn't unpleasant in my eyes.
Also seemed to only happen on long scrolling windows. Short scrolling I could not see it.
I would say it's a pinch under the glass, but the glass looks fine, just reflections of the surroundings in the glass so right where the back button is. It's definitely not lifting and looks flat, but the light dances and create an almost m shape. It's far from anything serious, as you need to look for it, but just something to keep an eye on for early adopters.
I don't think the screen refresh affects it, as I can recreate with screen off.
Got pics from the screen, using my **** ipad camera. But you can see the warp. The white shelf is flat, being a shelf, so you can see it shows as straight up the screen then at the bottom forms an m shape.

Bright Green Line on Screen

I got the Tab S4 a week ago and have been impressed with everything about it - screen, camera, excellent tablet.
Anyway - I am at work today and turned on the tablet only to find a Bright Green line exactly halfway down the screen (in portrait view) can't get rid of it -
I haven't dropped the tablet or treated it roughly or done anything could have caused this. I put on a glass screen protector yesterday - but didn't even have to push hard on the screen to get rid of bubbles or anything. It was an easy install - and the screen looked great. BUT this morning - with a bright green line thru the screen - well, it doesn't look so great any more.
Taking it back to Best buy today - just wondered if any one else had a similar problem?
EDIT -I was going to get a screen shot of the Green Line (if I could) and when I powered the tablet back on the Green light flickered and then went away. So now there is no green line there. = turned on again - and green line is back.
one other think I noticed - when the green line went a way, I noticed there was a SINGLE very small red pixel in the middle of the screen - when the green line went away, the red pixel was present - a tiny little dot of red - but when the green line came back - the red pixel went away. (by the way - the red pixel is in a different location of the screen than the green line.
This is a known problem with amoled screens. You've got a dud. Get a replacement. Even the iPhone X had some reports of it
Line on screen
I have the Galaxy tab S4 also and I have the line halfway down the screen too. I have to send it to Samsung to get fixed. I took such great care of it. I even put the rubber tpu case on with gloves to avoid leaving finger prints on the gorgeous glass back. This sucks. The LTE version is like 800 bux!
Yeah, sounds like you got a faulty unit. Just take it back to the retailer for a replacement or take it into the Samsung Service Center for repairs.
