VillainROM 6.2.0
First of all, there are an abundance of ROMs, from an ever increasing number of developers, themers, 'chefs', etc. So, we thought we'd give you a few reasons to choose VillainROM.
Why choose VillainROM?
- Plenty of space on /system to install apps or patches (De-Odexed build)

This is the latest version of VillainROM - version 6.0.0, based on the Droid Eris official build.
Info:
This is Pulser's first ROM for a good few months. I've been very busy working on some other ROMs, so Pulser's taken this one on for himself. Truthfully, it's phenomenal.
I've helped where I could, and a couple of the files I have written in the past have gone into it, but to be totally honest, this is Pulser's hard work.
A lot of hard work has gone into this ROM. If you like our work, please consider making a small donation to the team. Also, Pulser would like to say a big thanks to DMzda, Xavier2k3 and RayJT9 for testing stuff on IRC, and MikeCoffee for downloading 2GB of ROMs over 3G today just so he could flash in the pub.

Or... if you want a better fix, change your DNS server to google (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4). It seems some UK ISPs dont recognise the site, yet 99% of people can get in fine ?????

This rom is based on the G1 espresso port by eugene, i have ported it to the hero and added some parts from the Hero 2.1 roms, these are still pre-release software and do contain some bugs, some more noticable than others.

If you want the full expresso look, you can push the Rosie.apk from the expresso rom found in this forum
i think the exact command is adb push Rosie.apk /system/app
It works when swiping between screens with no F/C's.............

just a note if you push the espresso rosie, you only get 5 screens and it will force close if you go to add a widget without also pushing the HtcAddProgramWidget.apk from the espresso dump, do not use the 7 screens option in the settings as it will force close on the last 2 screens, this is the reason i used the hero rosie

well duh
don't try that at home guys - keep it in the 651 or 691 top speed are for most people please or your phone will not like you in the morning.
If I remember correctly lox's phone (well, assuming his girlfriend's phone that he tests this stuff on is his old phone) is one of those freaky 748-safe phones. If that's true then what he's saying here is that it's not able to run at his max clock speed. and if that's true and your own phone can often run stably @ 710, then you might find that you need to run @ 691 or lower with this rom.
that certainly coincides with my experience with cgb and with most froyo roms using the 2.2 JIT engine.
I'd hate to read about a bunch of phone lockups because they followed the OP's cpu speed comments on their own phones.

Progress - indeed. I think he said that this feature was untested but listed it as working - which probably means that it works in other builds so he hoped it would work. Maybe I'm wrong - but I'm sure he'll be happy to read that it works!

Worked out of the box, don't see many differences with cronos 0.0.9, except that sip calling works fine, the icons are tuned a bit better, skinning works, power widget was modified with new icons, more cm options are available. The disadvantage of CM7 beta 1 is that there is no apps2sd, but i'm sure that can be added quite easily in a rom based upon it.
The real fix still to arrive for any hero 2.3 rom is the general speed and smoothness in launcherpro/menu's and for the animations to work fine I guess. So far I prefer this cm7 release because of the little tweaks and improvements that cm7 brings.

Have been playing music for two hours, recovering apps, installing stuff and it's been rock solid for me at 633mhz.

Welcome to our latest creation, Virtuous Fusion. It is the first fully functional, properly scaled Sense 3.0 ROM for the MT4G. Before going any further, it is important to note that Fusion is a different product than base Virtuous. The "Fusion" ROM will exist until Sense 3.0 has natively become available on our devices, if ever.
Fusion was made possible by the amazing work of Flemmard and Diamondback, who reverse engineered the m10 format and built an encoder/decoder. The two of them also made the specific adjustments necessary to this particular ROM's applications. It was also a collaborative effort across the DHD, G2/DZ and MT4G communities. Cappychimp and rmk40 worked closely throughout the entire process, with support from numerous others. Thank you to everyone involved.

Fully functional and properly scaled Sense 3.0.
Based on components from Sniper911's leaks of Rider (1.27.1010.0) Kingdom (0.81.651.0), MT4G Sense GB 2.08.531.0 & Pyramid (1.28.401.1).
All device hardware should be fully functional, including wifi, bluetooth, camera, camcorder, etc.
Kernel 2.6.35.10 from the Gingerbread leak for MT4G. Custom kernel based off of DHD GB Source 2.6.35.10 [OC/LZO/BFQ/EXT4]
Market-sourced applications (Gmail, Maps, Voice, etc) automatically installed on first boot into /data/app for easy removal.
Deodexed (as leaked) and zipaligned.
Bloatware and unnecessary applications removed.
Massive APNS list.
Replaced boot animation from this thread (thanks cypis).
Installation
You must be perm rooted with and Clockwork Recovery installed (i.e. s-off).
Perform a nandroid backup of your current ROM, in case you change your mind or encounter issues.
Apply the zip via ClockWork Recovery. Boot into recovery via Clockwork, wipe ALL and apply zip. It has not been tested with any other recovery. *currently trying to flash directly from ROM Manager does not work correctly.
Expect the first boot to take anywhere from 6-10 minutes. The lengthy first boot time is due to the dexopts process and installation of /data/apps. Subsequent reboots should be significantly quicker.
After initial install, allow a few minutes for all ROM-provided applications to appear. Some are installed post-boot using package manager.
You must have a Gingerbread Radio flashed.
Known Issues
There are some remaining graphical glitches. Most of them are minor but feel free to report them.
Non-HTC widgets function but are not scaled perfectly; they may appear small and offset to the left. HTC provides plenty of awesome widgets, so I suggest using those.
Mobile Settings FC's
HTC Calendar widgets 2 & 3 do not work
HTC Twitter & Trends widget does not work
HTC Clock Social Network does not update

Well since I got drawn to a rom that got bumped that was like from the stone age and everyone one was like, Man this is awesome it is so fast blabla
I decided to give it a go and when I ran it I was thinking like, Man this is awesome it is so fast...
So then there I was. Sitting on my confy chair thinking later on. Man this is crap... It is outdated and meh...
Then I decided to update stuff change some stuff make it more well... ME.
Like I did on Speedmachine V4 from Elelinux I did the same with this ROM but this time I changed some more. To make it more now. And not so 2010...
Ok now that useless story is said.. If you read it your lifeless but still.
Now to the ROM part but fist...
I am in no way responsible for broken phones, bad working phones, or some other stuff that may is some unlikelihood may happen during installation of this ROM.
In short I am not responsible for stuff that can not happen if you flash this. And stuff that may happen.
BTW I am no developer in anyway. I am good in breaking roms and somehow get them fixed again... Got no idea what the code does I leave that to the guru's
This rom is based of VanillaEclair 4.0 made by RaduG so credits to him for that.
The version is Sense themed with a DPI off 140.
The DPI is the screen density. The lower the numer the smaller the stuff is on the screen so you can have more on the screen then 160. 160 is Hero native.
I did not make the theme so I am not going to take credit for it. I used the Speedmachine V5 theme files. So credits to Elelinux for those.

Ok that was all the APPS.
Now to some other stuff.
-This rom now supports multitouch, in maps atleast.
-Changed the OpenGL to 2.0 so Vector maps (3D Maps) may work, Don't shoot me if it doesnt.
-GPS Conf is set to Europe. Mostly Holland cuss I live there. If you want to change it, look in this topic and download the correct one for your place. Credits to AngelDeath for those files.
-Added some sounds. Well some allarms and 1 notification ringtone. Both set to default.
-Changed boot animation to one I love, Credits to ZduneX25 for that one.
-Changed on 2 version the DPI to 140. Thanks to RaduG who gave me that idea a long time ago with some rom. Tastysomething..
-I killed myself to get the Sensethemed one to look good. Till I saw this topic from Ohsaka. That made my day so credits to him for that tool.
-Also for the themed version I used the UOT Kitchen so credit to all those guys who made it.
-Well like noted updated apps and stuff.
Bugs
-Well one. Gallery3D acts a little weird on first startup. Just wait that out and it runs fine after. Just do some other stuff.
-No reboot menu. I was planning to do that. But when I saw the guide on that I was like. Ehm nah. to long and not in the mood to do so. If someone managed to do it. And want me to make an update.zip (well want me to try) I will and put it up as an option.
-With LVX 0.6.2 there may be USB mounting problems. Switch to Fly to fix that.
-LVX may have the bad habit to have crappier battery life then Fly13. My experience is that Fly13 is more stable. And less power using.
-Camerazoom aint working.
That is all I think. Prob forgot a lot but who cared. Everyone jumps down to the download link anyway and then download it. And go like. Music.apk is missing from my ROM.. Why is that??
Instalation!!
-Install the rom you want
-Download FlyKernel 13 from this topic, or Fly11C cuss Don loves it. Credits to Erasmux for all his work on that.
-You can also use Las Venturax from this topic. Again thanks to Erasmux and Riemer for that.
-Install Flykernel 13 or LV right after you installed the ROM, Which the updater script commands you to anyway. (Well it commands you to use Fly)
-Flash lightscript if you like.
-Boot into the ROM.
-Flash options or themes if you like to do so.
-Enjoy!!

I did not downgrade EGL to 1.0. (old file) Then you will have the rotary bug. I will release a patch wich will have the EGL file for 1.0 so then people can use waze.
Keep in mind that the Wazefix will put back the rotation bug in most apps even in waze!!
The reason why I did not include FlyKernel. Simple actually. I was lazy and well I always flash it after a rom flash with the speeds preset in the update script for my phone. So get used to that.

Yea it looks fine and I made it look nice with the sense theme to and the stock version has a different color one. To make it look nice with that theme.

I was chatting with saj offline and told him to try it with fly 11c (which is the fastest of the older kernels, much more of a useful kernel imho than fly 12 which breaks some touch capability in some games).
he was like, yea, great kernel! amazing! so fast! but he was using it on a 2.1 sense rom, not ve4.
I was like, you GOTTA try ve4. most responsive rom ever, and even better with this kernel dude.
and he was like, ok, I gotta revive that thread since you're all over that rom.
and so we went on there and tried to get ppl seeing how amazing it is.
Soooo, I'm happy that the guy who saw our posts was you since you're the coolest theming customizing hero-dedicated rom modifier I know!
congrats on the cool "new" old rom!
and don't forget ppl. ve4 is super fast because it doesn't have a lot of extra stuff in it, like all of the bigger later CM features
Credit specially also to the original developer of VE4 RaduG who worked bloody hard on the rom to get it running this well way back in the old days (>1 year ago LoL).
Suggestions:
Maybe 3d gallery should go though? I hate it, one of the best htings about VE4 is that it uses the previous 2d gallery which was WAY faster and everybody liked better than the crappy photo-missing slow 3d gallery that is synonymous with android these days. there was so much backlash against 3d gallery when it came out and radug decided to keep in the 2d gallery because it's more reliable (doesn't skip photos like 3d gallery STILL does even these days), and is just way faster and lighter.
Also remember this is a 2.1 vanilla-early cm rom (back when cm was nearly vanilla at least). So maybe you should leave IN that voice dialer thing since voice control wasn't as integrated into 2.1 aosp android as it was in later firmware. However I haven't tried alternatives to the voice dialer from VE4 yet in this rom to know if it will still do voice dialing in other ways. I DO know that bluetooth doesnt' support voice dailing in this rom, at least not in ve4 so prob not in this rom, but I talk loudly when driving and using the non-bluetooth voice dialer to make calls still. So it's a useful addition to keep in this rom maybe.
but aside from those possible suggestions imho, I'm blown away and will be trying your new rom right away!

Like I said you can all smash it in there your self if you like. I hate it and for me the 3D one is as fast as the 2D one in loading stuff. Except the first startup. And since my language is dutch and the voice dialer thinks is mongolian or something I call the whitehouse then I say bel Mandy. That is why I removed it.

Have you ever tried Quickpic? (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.alensw.PicFolder&feature=search_result) It is free and very fast.

by the way, vlingo is a great free speech recognition tool for this rom, free on market, aside from not supporting bluetooth it gives the best results in ve4.

by the way, +1 on quickpic. 2d gallery and quickpic are both fast, I think 2d gallery is faster when viewing pics full screen and tapping previous/next buttons, but quickpic keeps subfolder organization in the UI And is faster at remembering and displaying all of the thumbnails. quickpic is definitely a solid option for aftermarket installs if anyone wants to play with it.

like I said in the ve4 thread, ve4 with fly 11c is so fast that it feels like an iphone, but better cuz we have dedicated hw buttons for menu etc (the lack of which is the biggest design mistake in iphone/ios imho). oh, and we have full multitasking... which is actually useful in this rom due to how light it all is.

You got it connected to your PC? Cuss it goes on like that if you got USB Connection and USB Debugging.
And it is 200 KM and 120 miles or so. Your Topo was not so good I think?
