I've been monitoring the otterbox website for changes ever since I got the EVO and they finally added the cases to the site! can't order them yet, but you can see them at least. looks like they were worth the wait!!!
http://www.otterbox.com/htc-cases/htc-evo-4g-cases/
Impact ($19.99):
Commuter (34.99)
and the big daddy:
Defender ($49.99)

Anyone having past experience with otterbox able to tell me, I have the Seidio rugged and the main thing I like is that it's basically 2 cases in one, for work I can use the rugged and every day I can use the Innocase 2
Does the Otterbox Defender work the same way? Or is it simply one skin?

holy ****. do want defender naow!

FINALLY!
Now lets see how long it takes for people to be able to order them. Oh and as far as how these cases compare to Seidio...their is NO comparison
Is it me, or does the Defender case cover up the bottom buttons? That would be freaking awesome!

Yes, I realize this, I have several friends with iPhone cases, but as I said, my main reason for liking the Seidio I have is that when I don't need full protection I can downgrade to something a bit more sleek and manageable

Understood the more options, the better.

They're very sexy, but I'm just going to keep my belt clip and naked EVO. I don't want to put this thing in my pocket.

Being that I've had 3 otterbox cases and now the seidio rugged... I can say the rugged is quality ... I actually dropped it at 12 feet today. Not a scratch. Seidio has or will have matching dock and cardock aaaaaand the holsters...

I wonder if it has anything to do with me yelling at them to hurry the F up in emails lately lmao
in response to how the otterbox works, depends on the series.
the lower ones like a skin bet premo, the middy is kinda like the seido it looks
and the beast is used all in one.

Ummmmm... how are you supposed to use the camera on the Defender?

Looks like its covered with silicon to me...

I really like the look of these but they don't have a belt clip holster type thing that it clips into like the seido does it?
Thats the main reason I have the innocase II is because is think so I can fit it in my pocket when im out and about and if I am at work wearing my belt I can just clip it right into my belt clip.

pretty sure the silicone u see on the defender case is there because thats whats inside the case...not an actual phone.
the defender series of case's always comes with a belt clip btw idk about the others.

Neither the Impact nor Commuter cases come with a belt clip.

Well that is great news but what is the hold up? They say it takes a couple months but the Evo was out a couple weeks before the iPhone 4 and they have cases for them already!

I'm thoroughly impressed, well worth the wait

No colors? Girls like colors. D=

if the demands enough you may talk them into doing a pink one but idk, they do a few colors for the iphone, But i dont think theres enough demand for the evo.
IDK what the hold up is, its extremely annoying and frustrating, but I imagine now that they are up on the site we should see them within a week or so ID HOPE!

Seidio Innocase Active X - got mine today

I had this case for my incredible and absolutely loved the look, feel and protection. So last week i pre-ordered the thunderbolt active x case from seidioonline. One thing i really like about this case is the feel of the power and volume buttons. Without a case its very hard to tell if you're pressing them. The case is very easy to put on, rubber case first then the plastic shell to hold it together. It also fits (barely) in my verizon droid x leather pouch i use at work which is a big plus. The kickstand is a little harder to open but not to bad. The only bad thing is its a little pricey at $37 shipped but i had to have this case.

I had this on my incredible and loved it, great protection and looks sweet. Looking forward to getting it for my TB. I think they make great products as far as durability and style. If you want indestructible then otterbox is your friend.
I had the active for my Evo as well, with the same breaking tab problem. I'll wait for otterbox, and hopefully it won't take them as long to get out some product as it did with the evo.
i can see the ends breaking if u take the case off the phone a lot. the plastic shell on this one is a bit thinner than the incredible active shell.
I have it on mine right now and its actually really nice. If you push on the sides to raise the tab when taking it on and off you wont break the tabs.
I dropped my TB about 3 feet today onto rugged sidewalk and not a nick on the case. Worth the few bucks!
sent via r00t3d TB - thx jcase!
Thanks for the pics and impressions. I'm still not sure about this case yet though. Might wait it out a little longer. I desperately want rid of this case I got from VZW though.

I'm a big fan of the case-mate tough, it's a similar style to this case with a bit more texture on the back piece for grip, plus I feel like the build quality is a little higher, here's hoping they make one for the TB!
I got mine from bestbuy for 50. Same case just different brand.

I ordered this case , just waiting to get it. Just curious, did they include a screen protector with it?
Think i may just get the cheapo $5 case on amazon with the hopes that otterbox releases their case soon. I have had much better luck with otterbox than seidio plus they seem to be a bit thinner and mold to the device more snugly.

I actually prefer the Tough Case over my Otterbox Commuter. The Tough Case's texture is perfect. The OB is slippery.
Case Mate isn't too responsive though. Maybe if we create a petition?

I've gotten one of these. I got the Active X combo with the clip. It works pretty well, and the material feels really nice in my hand. Overall, I'd say it's protection I don't mind.

Looks great, at least they learned their lesson of trying to include their own kick stand like the Evo Defender case. That piece of junk broke 4x on me.
SOLID!
Have an otterbox for my old G2. Will definitely buy when availiable.
doesn't look like its gonna fit the extended battery though... bummer
Looks like the kickstand may be hard(er) to get out with this case on it. Wish it had a picture from the kickstand opening side to see how the clearence is from the case

Looks like the kickstand cut out is angled to allow easy opening. It kinda looks like you can fit a finger nail in there with no problem. If you compare both sides the pivoting point doesn't have the angled slit.

Ya i can see the angle on that side, just wish it had a pic. Big fingers can make it quite hard if its a tiny space to reach into
yeah i got a reply email from obox the other day about this but wish it was the commuter case instead of this one. The commuter is so much more sleek and form fitting you almost dont even know its a case. Ive had both b4 and def prefer the commuter.
hm...will I need to return or resell my seidio on ebay...
I hope they get this done soon! I dropped my old samsung all the time but I was more comforted by the AMOLED display. I'm going to try no case until this comes out, just hope I don't any accidents before then!

Now they need to make one for the extended battery.
Looks really nice, especially compared to some of their other super bulky designs. I'm with the rest of you too.. the commuter cases are really nice. (had one on my previous iPhone for a good bit of time)
I like it too but $50!!!!! for a case? That is 1/3 the price of the phone. I paid $150 for the phone and am not spending $50 for a case.
$50th to insure I don't break it. I'll take it

I'd rather go with a cheap soft case, and put what's leftover towards insurance.
I love these. Had one on my OG and will put one on the Bolt when these are available.

You can usually find them for cheaper. When I was shopping for a case for my Blackberry I was sold on the OB but I was hesitant on the 50 bones for it. I found it on Buy.com for like $30 shipped. When I look back on it I would have paid the full 50 for it considering how many times that case saved the phone. It is still in mint condition despite countless drops and my girlfriend spilling a strawberry daiquiri directly on it. I just took the case off and rinsed it off, nothing on the phone. Worth it.

Case comparison: Ballistic SG & Seidio Convert

Has anyone has experience with both if these cases? The $20 price tag of the Ballistic on ebay is undeniably a good deal, but for options and holster use the Convert seems quite versatile.
Please share your experience with both...compare/contrast them

Don't think anyone has the Seidio yet, they just started shipping today.
I had that combo for my Evo and I thought the quality could have been better. However, a guy I work with has one for his Droid X and the quality is much better on that one.
It's the only real rugged case with a holster out there for the E4GT, so I will probably order one if my experiment with the Ballistic HC for the Infuse doesn't work out.

If you aren't familiar with the Convert case, it's kind of like taking the Surface case and putting the Active case over the outside of it. First layer is the Surface case, which can be used on its own if you want. Then it has a silicone cover and exoskeleton that goes over the Surface case. It also has covers for the camera, USB port, and headphone jack, which the Active does not have. It also includes a locking holster and screen protector.

Any chance someone as purchased the convert case?
I got the convert case last week and dropped the phone in holster from roughly 15-17 feet from extention ladder on hard packed dirt/half frozen (it wasn't on purpose and almost cried) it still works fine. I like the fact I can get the outer case dirty and if I'm going out just use the surface case underneath. My only gripe is while trying to put the phone in the convert holster the outer silicone portion grabs the locking clip a little. I don't have any experience with the ballistic case but am happy with convert combo!

So how much bigger is the phone once the convert case is all on? I want to get one of these but I tried the epic touch in an Infuse Ballistic hardcore case and holster and it made the phone way too big and it was like holding a brick up to my face.. Any thoughts would be great. If anyone has compared the two that would be awesom too..

That's the Hard-Core series from Ballistic, not the Shell-Gel series... :/ I'd imagine the SG series to be a bit smaller than the HC series.
yes, the SG series is a lot smaller than the HC series is..
I wish Ballistic made the HC for our phones..
Just ordered the convert case. Hope i wont be disappointed and it be too big.

Seidio ACTIVE Case w/ Kickstand 15% Off Coupon

I've been waiting for a nice looking case with a kickstand. I just found this ACTIVE case from Seidio, looks like it just came out. I went ahead and ordered one. I'm hoping it will work with the extended battery, but if not... I may try just using that one as a backup. It'd be nice to find just the spare battery charger. I really don't want to buy another battery.

I'll order when blue or red comes out. Or white.
Rabble rabble rabble.
The kickstand is cool but the sides look really ugly to me and if you don't put your fingers there when you hold the phone it might feel awkward. Bonus points for covering the top part by the ear piece though.
i had an active on my droid x and was pretty happy with it except for the size and weight, but the otterbox defender for the gnex is just WAY to big (IMHO of course). functional case and holster combos are few and far between and seidio provides a solid product.
right now i'm using a surface, have an active combo on the way and i'm praying they come out with a naked holster since once the 3 pin docks start showing up i'm not gunna feel like case stripping to dock all the time
I've had the Seido Active for my TB. While it's a great case! It felt extremely bulky and made the screen feel smaller. I went with the otterbox commuter this time. Seido is great! I dropped my phone dozens of times with no injuries to the inside.
Anyone received their Active yet? I'm looking for a review. I'm a long time Seidio Surface (Innocase) fan but they are on backorder and I like the idea of a kickstand.

YES! I want a kickstand. I saw the Verizon case with kickstand and I wanted it but I have the extended battery and I refuse to go cover-less just to have a case fit it. I've been using the hangout on mobile a lot and it sure would be nice to have a kickstand so I don't have to hold the phone up all the time as well.

otterbox = Teh sex
Who actually has the Seidio case? Is the kickstand for it any good? I am also interested to hear if it fits on a phone with an extended battery.
Hey guys, I have the Seidio Active Case with metal kickstand for the OEM 2100 mAh hour battery, and I love it, BUT, there is a problem with it I figured I'd let you all know.
The metal kickstand and the thickness of the bump for it, interferes with NFC. As you may know, the NFC antenna on the Galaxy Nexus is actually in the battery, so it's as close to the back of the phone as possible. The Seidio kickstand goes right over the middle of the battery. It is very difficult if not near impossible, to do things like "back to back" transfers with my Nexus 7
(especially while my Nexus 7 is ALSO in it's Active Case. If I take the plastic outer part of the case off, that contains the metal kickstand and the bump, and just leave the
silicone/soft inner on the phone, NFC works just fine.
But with the outer part on, NFC is very hard to use for back to back. With a NFC terminal like for payments, it works better (as they generate a larger powered field - I test them
at work actually as part of my job).
I let Seidio know this, they don't have a plastic kickstand version for the OEM extended or their extended. I suggested they move the kickstand up higher, or re-engineer it to be
thinner and plastic.. but no changes yet.
For now i take the outer shell off when I want to use NFC back to back
You also can't get the cases for extended batteries in anything other than black.. I wish I could get Red for it
I found even with the extended battery there are NO gaps in the case! just pull the plastic a bit and its perfect!
Oh and if anyone still wants one for a bit cheaper I am selling mine cuz I gat a new SIII ;] http://www.ebay.com/itm/281037616353?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l264

Just by watching video reviews, I prefer the Kraken's ease of putting the case on/taking it off, as I will be doing that every couple days when I go to work. Also, I like the polycarbonate on the outside layer, as opposed to the silicone layer on the outside on the Otterbox.
I watched a YouTube vid of a Kraken on an Iphone4. Not sure if I like it or not, the silicone seems flimsy.

I was about to order one till I watched a review. The clip design is impractical. The way you have to align it with the case is far from easy and if you don't get it perfect it will fall off.

In a way I agree with you, I don't think I will use the silicone layer as a case by itself (which you can do). In fact, I would never use any silicone as a case by itself, I don't like it's "flimsiness", and also the feel in my hand and how easily it picks up dust. But its flimsiness does not present a problem at all, when used with the polycarbonate exterior shell, the silicone will work great as a shock absorber and keep the phone snug in the polycarbonate outer shell.
Even though I have not had one, or even held one before, some of the reviews I watched convinced me, and I pre-ordered one in red. I have a few friends with the Otterbox, I just don't like the integrated screen protector, silicone outer layer, and it does not look like like it is as easily installed/removed.
I wonder how the belt clip works with the Kraken/GS3 on page 1. There's no hole for the belt clip. It's different than the Kraken on the IPhone4.

Looks like it is similar to some of the other Krakens, look at the little T-slot on the side, about halfway up the phone, it will clip in there on both sides of the phone.

I didn't watch that vid when I first replied, after watching it, I thought I should mention, that is an "old" video, they do not make a case lie that now, as far as I can tell. The current Kraken has the silicone layer on the inside, and polycarbonate outside. Also it does not have a belt clip like that, instead it clips to the outside edges of the phone. Even the iPhone cases are not like that video, according to the current Trident website.
Here is a video showing the Nexus Trident Kraken, this appears to be similar to what the SGS3 case will be like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnIrtiLecIg

I agree with you. That's going to one thing that I have to get used to, but like the reviews say, that belt clip is compatible with all kraken cases despite the phone, so that's a plus.
When it comes in, I will let you all know how it goes.
Hmmm, maybe the Seidio Active is the answer...
I had the Kraken for my 3d and it was a tank. I definitely recommend this case, If you are worried about bulk then keep it moving. The silicon on the 3d was sturdy and it can be used as a case on its own. The outer shell is very sturdy, I dropped my 3d so many times with this case and had zero problems with it. Going to order one now as a matter of fact.
After watching the vid, I'm not so sure I like the way the belt clip works with the case.
I had one of these on my Rezound, it's feels really strange with the plastic shell being on the outside, my phone felt really clunky. Also like others said the belt clip is kinda weird
