guess his phone is a defected phone, send back for warranty.

Happened to me a couple of days after I bought it. I cleaned the microUSB port and the problem disappeared. Be careful not to bend any of the contacts in there.

Could be a bug with your USB controller on your computer too. In the past, we found that the ipod's had the same issue.

Thank you. try

I used a thick needle with a piece of cotton fabric wrapped around one end. Gently rubbed the copper contacts and that was it. It was hard for me to see inside, but I think I saw traces of corrosion before I cleaned it.

Integrated WiFi on a MDA2- Shoud I do it? What do you think?

Hello folks,
I've been thinking on this.
I think its very possible to install a normal SD WiFi into the device and I remember that someone talked about this in the past but I think the thread got lost in the last DB crash.
Does anyone know or has some info?
I will take the risk in doing this if someone gives me some feedback.
I tore appart my Socket SD WiFi and belive me, it's really small and thin!
I think it's just a matter of soldering the contacts to the correct positions on the slot, but still, i'm not sure what would happen if once soldered I insert a memory card...
Some say that even with the WiFi card turned off but inserted will still draw power from the battery, how true is that?
Any feedback is really appreciated.
TIA,
Rayan

Though it might be interesting for the rest of us, don't do it. It think you will fail. Reasons are:
- there is most likely not enough free space inside the device
- even if there was, the WLAN antenna would then be inside the device, causing all sorts of electromagnetic interference and disturbing the nornam operation of your device. Also, you'd get really bad reception, as the device's cover shields the antenna
- if you solder things to the SD port's PINs, you can no longer insert another SD Card. Well, physically you can, but electrically you then have two SD cards, which will overload the card slot pin drivers; and logically you also have two cards, and when some software talks to "the" card, both will try to respond, causing undefined behavious.
So, unless I missed something very basic (like today being April 1st... ;-)), this sounds like a really bad idea.
Cheers, Daniel
I was thinking of doing this to the Imate Jam which does not have wifi. The XDAIIs has it internal so I dont think it would be that bad. You cant unplug it also and I dont think it uses more power while switch off.
But at the end of the day, its your phone so do what you want, just let us know how you go.
Good luck
Thank you for your feedback!
That's a good point zakeen, however the XDAIIs was meant to be like that.
But I really don't think the interference could be that bad since the WiFi antenna will be just a couple of inches closer to the rest of the hardware. And even though it's not a real test, I already placed my MDA2 close to my WiFi router's antenna and it didn't cause any interference at all... But still I might be wrong and the telephone part of the MDA2 might loose a few reception bars since I plan to place the WiFi module right on top of the cellular antenna...
I think the real problem resides on what tadzio mentions about the piggy back not working... :?
In terms of space, I'm sure it will fit (I already know my MDA2's internals after several disections in the past!).
Any other ideas?
TIA,
Rayan
Wonderful They border, with two xxxxxx! Recently time which I am thinking about making a false SD card that allows me to accede to the contacts and to experiment without having to open the PDA, but do not have a SD with wifi (I have it in CF format with backpack) I think that if the antenna wifi is behind the black cover there are no problems since that part is not chromed (for that reason it is there where antenna GSM goes)

First I hope there was only water on the toilet...
And depending on how long the phone was on the water it could still work, I'd recommend making sure the phone is off, taking out the battery, and letting everything dry a couple days without trying to turn it on nor connecting it (that may ruin the phone if it still works).
Also, being from Mexico myself, I can tell you that depending on the part of the country you're on, there may be plenty of places to take your phone to be repaired (again depending on how much it was damaged)
leave it more than a day in rice, before I put it near the calefaxion for 2 hours, and today we take the technician tells me ke circuits were fine, thank ke not lit in all that time, only had something ke calculus, which has already been cleaned and well lit, does the touch screen, reads the sim, the horn works just need to check the external memory slot, I'm very happy because I recover my glide

[Q] Note 2 will not turn on / charge

Hi guys,
Super confused here. I accidentally left my Note 2 on during a movie and it drained to 0%/shut off. I then charged it when i got home and fell asleep while texting someone. Everything seemed fine til i woke up and realized my phone was off. It was pretty warm to the touch and wouldnt turn on at all...never had that problem before. Tried to hard reset and whatnot with no success...
It also will not charge (no notification screen, LED not lighting up) but will get warm pretty quickly when plugged in.
I'm seriously clueless here....Any help would be appreciated!
Note 2 on Telus (canada) and rooted about a year ago. Phone itself is 1.5 years old
Thanks,
Daniel
Can you get to recovery or download mode and try to restore backups?

I had the exact same problem only a few days ago. Phone shut itself off and wouldn't turn on again, no recovery no nothing. Problem persisted even with my secondary battery.
I then sent it to Samsung support because it still had warranty left.
Of course they refused to repair it because it has CM installed which I obviously was unable to remove prior to sending it in. HOWEVER to check whether it was rooted or not they somehow revived the phone and it is fully functional ever since.
I don't know if this could be any help to you, but I hope it is.

Mysterious taps/touch input on LG G4

So I have this weird problem on my G4.
Every now and then when just doing normal things on the my phone it totally freaks out and all by it self it suddenly starts to tap random parts of the desktop, slides the pages, opens apps, closes apps, goes into calculator and a bunch of buttons are pressed randomly. It's almost like someone has hacked my phone and is trolling me by just tapping randomly on the phone.
Just today when looking at Facebook it closed the app, scrolled down notifications, data was turned off and wifi turned on.
I thought it might have been my screeen protector, bit of moisture in it or something. Took that off and still does it. Took out the battery for a minute and still does it.
It happened a few months ago then nothing for ages and now it's started again this weekend.
Anyone else had this sort of problem. Is it a hack?
I had exactly the same problem with a completly new G4. Somehow I had the feeling it depends on temperature a little as when I was on balcony where it was colder it was more bad then inside the flat. It was pretty bad and appeared most of the times so it was reproducible. After fiddling around some days I exchanged it under warranty. The one what I received now doesn't have this problem anymore
i have the same problem with my LG G4 H815 with Stock Rom modified or not , with Genesys Rom , with Imperium Rom and with CM Based Rom and another Custom Rom
For me this mysterious ghost taps and touchs arrived rarely and randomly with V20D ; i have remove some touch screen speed, presure and reaction tweaks in build.prop and resolv partially this problem for me in Imperium or in Genesys Rom and in my stock tweaked too ^^
sorry for my bad english
Mmmm. So no word whether it is hardware or software based?
I thought it might be limited to when I was connected to internet as it only seemed to do it on WiFi or Data. But it has now done it with no connection.
It might be temp based, but it's pretty hot where I am, and humid. I haven't had it long enough to test it in colder environments.
Hopefully it sorts it self out as I bought it from Topbuy.com and they are pretty bad for warranty claims.

I'm getting phantom touches to the point my G4 is unusable now. However as soon as I put my phone on airport mode I get zero phantom touches.. Seems to me that would indicate its a software bug rather than hardware?

What is the first 3 digits of the serial# ?
this is a screen problem ie hardware from what i understand. Happened with early batches then went quiet.
My phone started doing this while at home, but only when it's plugged in and charging. It may have something to do with the quality of the charger. I keep my OEM charger in the car and I have no problems when I use my phone in the car while charging. My chargers at home all came from eBay and the ghost taps start when I am charging at home and trying to use the phone. I get the problem whether Wi-Fi is on or off using the eBay chargers. I don't use Wi-Fi in the car, but I use Mobile Hotspot a lot without any ghost taps. Hope this helps!
The same problem!
I have the same problem. My G4 is the h815 20A, serial number starts with 505. The ghosts taps started 1 month ago and impair the use of the mobile device. Amazingly, the touches almost disappear when the phone is on the charger. Anyone have any solution for this? What would be the problem?
I think that's no a hack problem. It can be a software or a hardware problem, but i don't know.
Can anyone help me?
A volte risulta inutilizzabile..
Sounds like water damage or from humidity. I had an iPod do this and fixed it by cleaning the connectors for the touchscreen. What have you to lose in trying? Don't break or void warranty though.

I apologize, I will not do it again.
I solved the problem: I change the touch-screen system. I think that is a hardware problem.
This is a software problem. Many of G4 owners had this ghost touches when the phone was released. An update fixed it later, but now I can confirm LG messed up again as I'm having the same issue with the latest version of the software.
Hi guys,
I have the same problem.
I noticed that it appear a mostly on 2G connection or on LTE when it fall back to 2G or very low signal.
Locking on 3G seem to solve. There's no way to lockLTE.
Tried several roms, with no luck. Do you have any other clues? It's Hardware or Software. Any new kernel or modem can solve it?
here's a video for this. LINK VIDEO
Thank you for your help.
This is not a software problem. This is a hardware digitalizer problem. It's necessary to change the all the touch screen system (digitalizer problem).
I have same problem with H818N, the problem seem to disappear if airplane mode is turned on, it also seem stable when on 3g only, which implies it has something to do with mobile signal. I have tried several things without luck and the thing is I can't easily reproduce it. At times It happens when there is an incoming call or SMS. Any suggestion will be helpful
Having the same problem on an H815 running (yet to be updated) CM14. If the screen has fingerprints or streaks it ghosts like crazy. If I can turn the phone off (before anything disastrous happens) and just give the screen a quick wipe (t-shirt, napkin, whatever), problem fixed! I would say it is definitely related to the hardware of the screen digitizer and random conduction of the greasy finger prints, cheek plants, etc. Cheers
Same problem. G4 H815 602 v20d stock. The problem started when I left the phone in the sun too long while hiking. For me, it only happens when the screen is off so I disabled 'knock on'.
Airplane mode does not help.

Question Xiaomi 11 5G Lite NE Proximity sensor bug

I have the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE (lisa) device, originally with the EEA software.
Suffering a lot because of the "proximity sensor bug" and being stupid enough not to research properly before buying the damn phone. You know, it's famous, they didn't put a proper proximity sensor inside, but somethnig ultrasonic blah-blah and it doesn't work okay, so the screen wouldn't turn off when in conversation.
Now, they didn't fix this in the official MIUI 13 EEA, or they don't know how and they don't care. I was wondering if the same proximity sensor bug is present in the Xiaomi.eu ROM, given the fact it's based on Chinese ROM and frequently updated? I would gladly flash it, I want to know because it takes some time to unlock the bootloader and some time to install everything back.
Or, if somebody found a way to fix this nonsense somehow...
Thank you.
For me i am on MIUI 13 and the proximity censor works normal for me.
EMIU 13? Maybe you mean MIUI 13? What exactly is the software version ? Mine is 13.0.5.0 SKOEUXM
Do you have a screen protector and a case? It seems it's somehow related to them...
I'm on the latest update and proximity sensor is working fine. No issues at all.

Pity... So many people are reporting this issue
Could it be related to the factory screen protector?
I don't think so. I have factory screen protector installed.
Bonjour,
Merci

MOD EDIT: English Translation Below
Hello,
I have the same problem with this phone since I bought it.
I left the original screen protector and have a protective shell.
I'm on MIUI 12.5.14.0 RKOMIXM.
When I put the phone to my ear (with or without a protective case), the screen almost never turns off. I have to turn it off myself all the time so it doesn't accidentally react with my face. When I activate the loudspeaker while on a call, sometimes the screen turns off by itself for no reason.
I'm waiting for MIUI 13 to be available to see if this update fixes this bug but I don't really believe it.
If anyone has found a solution, I would like to know it.
Thank you
Unfortunately, it seems Xiaomi doesn't care about this problem. Its quite common though. There's even a poll in a popular Russian forum about proximity sensor work satisfaction.
I cannot say it can be reproduced 100%, but it happens in like 85-90% of conversations and it really messes things up.
I am surprised that so few people are discussing it here. It is a real problem and one that cannot just be ignored

You are one of the lucky few. This sensor issue is making me hate my phone when I'm actually using it like a phone. If this issue wasn't happening this phone would be perfect for me. I couldn't find any solutions and I checked everywhere trust me. I also tried eu rom but it didn't solve it. Now I'm on custom pixel os rom and it doesn't solve it either.

Sounds grim... I think not only they don't care that much about the problem, but they also CANNOT fix it, due to the lack of real infrared proximity sensor in the phone.
Pity! It's a really good phone, apart for that issue.

Yes, it is indeed a very good phone. Top value for money! I switched to the European ROM (so from MIUI 12 to MIUI 13) but as I expected, it didn't fix the problem. I'm going to try the pixelOS ROM but I don't expect miracles either.

This is a hardware problem, not a software one.

You should have looked beyond the survey. Then you would have seen a method of correcting the problem.
It is to calibrate the proximity sensor.
Translate:
1. Open the dialer and dial *#*#6484#*#* (the engineering menu will open)
2. Press the three dots in the upper right corner. In the drop-down list select "Additional tools".
3. Press "Speaker PA calibration test."
4. Bring the smartphone to your ear in an upright position (as in a normal conversation) at a distance of about 5 cm.
5. Start the calibration (press "Calibrate Speaker PA").
6. Wait until calibration is completed (the sound in the speaker will disappear).
7. Exit the calibration menu.

Originally I didn't have a problem but I started to have serious troubles upon putting the screen protector (on almost every call my ear activated Mute or even worse Airplane mode, sometimes the backlight, etc)
Now, after the Calibration it is somewhat better - in 20+ or so calls it happened again once or twice
I now made more steps to prevent
- switched to the new Control center that pulls-off from right (to make it harder for my ear to pull down the Control center)
- reorganized the icons in Control center
And most important, now I take care to keep the top border of the phone pressed to my ear, but the rest of the phone apart from my ear/face to prevent touching
I also monitored during the last days the screen while on the call and it didn't activate
Definitely, this (ultrasonic) virtual sensor is not a good solution, but at least (with additional care) I can now use my phone for the calls again
I had issues on with my other Xiaomi phones with virtual proximity sensors, but it works on this phone flawless for me. Don't think a regular sensor is always better. On OnePlus, the 9R and 9RT phones have a notoriously awful proximity sensor. It's just companies spending 0 on quality control basically and rushing out phones.
Never, ever, in many years I've been using smartphones, have I had such an awful experience with the proximity sensor! I really want to throw this phone away because of that. Such a shame, Xiaomi!
Tried all the solutions. none of them work in my case. Proximity sensor work is so erratic that it messes up basic things (like conversation over the phone!!!). Very annoying!
All probs started when Xiaomi began using a virtual Proxy despite old Proxy sensor method... and they didn't solve it at all.
It’s a measure of how much they actually care about their customers
Guys, try a new method using a special program.
