Media Scanner so you can see internal storage pictures? - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How do I set up the media scanner so apps see the pictures on the internal storage?

Why don't you save pictures and video to SD card? In camera settings you can choose SD card as default storage location.

How to record the NOTES Audio on SD card?

When I record audio in the notes function, I've found it is recording in the internal storage, taking up a lot of space. Now, I've run out of space!
How do I save those audio notes to my sd card, using the NOTES program?
Thanks a lot!

Click to collapse
You apps will install on the internal. Storing media and files on the external is up to you. However, I believe you have the option on TouchWiz whether pics save to the external or internal. On things like AOSP/AOKP, you don't have that choice yet... If you do then darn, someone show me that option.

[Q] Why won't media on the internal storage be found by apps?

Running CM9 Beta 1, it defaults all storage to the external_sd, but I have access to the sdcard (internal storage), obviously.
Just moved all my music to the internal storage, seeing as how my 14.1GB external sdcard is almost full. x.x
Google music, N7 player, and many other apps WILL NOT recognize that my internal sdcard has about 8.1GBs of music on it.
Which is dumb, because my Quickpic app knows there's pictures on there. Album art.
Does ANYONE know what gives?!
Makeshift solution.
So.. I found a handy little app called Directory Bind. And I just ended up binding the internal SDcard's music folder to the music folder in my external, and BAM. As long as my SD card (external) is in my phone, it works.
Kind of a pain in the ass..
Turn on viewing hidden files and look in the internal music folder for files called .nomedia and delete them.

Note 2 won't read my 8GB microsd but...

Whenever I try viewing files that are on my memory card, the note 2 won't show the files on the gallery or anything.
But if I open up ES file explorer, the files show up perfectly and play fine. I reformatted my card and tried it again, but no file shows up on the gallery.
I seriously doubt it's corrupt because only the gallery and native apps won't show the files. But my computer and third party file management apps show up files and folders. It's a lexicon sd card that I bought at best buy so I don't think it's a Chinese knock off.

Is the media scanner disabled ? If yes, try re-scanning the media using rescan media application.

Google+ App size on the Edge

I was wondering if the Google+ app that came installed on my Note Edge should be 1.8 gigs on the main device memory? I have my photos saved on my SD card and I notice that Google + auto updates my photos and videos to the cloud. So why would the app be almost 2gigs in size on my local drive for the Edge.
Maybe it copies the files to your internal sd and load it then up to the net???
That's the way some clouds work on your PC.....
