Samsung Vibrant Galaxy S Leather Flip Case - Vibrant Accessories

I just bought this http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320574955314&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT . Customer service was good and shipping was fast. The case has a plastic holder in it which holds the phone perfectly and is clip out and clip back in. The leather itself is good quality imo even when I bend it all the way back, it never made a crease so far. Has a magnet at top to hold the case together and has all the usb ect accessible with it closed up. Fits vibrant perfectly. They even sell ones with designs on them in their store.

Does the magnet interferes with the normal functioning of the digital compass?

Proclip mount shipping - works with extended battery!

Good news for all you Proclip fans,
I just recieved mine today and it works with the Samsung Extended battery just as well as the standard battery. There is a 1/2 in space behind the phone that should allow for even the most extreme extended batteries to fit as long as the battery cover does not extend beyond where the original battery cover fits (like if it wraps around the side of the phone it will not fit).
I ordered Proclip part number 513331 (Hard wired install).
Proclip doesn't disappoint either, this mount is just as awesome as the one for my old DINC. Nice and sturdy.
I'll post some pics later when I get it installed.
As is typical with proclip mounts, the mount is designed based on the physical dimensions of the phone (specifically the sides of the phone) so cases that change those dimensions will cause the phone to not fit in the grooves correctly.
Pix of the proclip in action
Grabbed a couple of pics for anyone interested.
Looks good, I had the incredible one too, but imo it was a little to hard to get in and out. Unfortunately since I already chipped my phone, I'm too scared to go naked with this phone. Plus their price is just too high for me.

I wont argue that they are spendy - I already had the base part but it's like $100 for both pieces for newbies.
But I do get something that no other mount has been able to offer me - this one is wired into the car, I can use only one hand to put my phone in it, and it doesn't fall or move when I press too hard. Considering the Verizon one is $40 and a POS it seemed worth the extra.
But yea if you have a case it's not so good.
does you phone fall if you turn the screen for navigation ?
I just ordered Proclip's adjustable mount 875214. Hopefully it will work well with my diztronic case. It grips near the bottom of the phone so it shouldn't interfere with any of the buttons or ports. I'll update after it arrives with the results!

Should be good, as it is adjustable. I wish they made the sides of the powered mount adjustable...

Well for those who aren't aware, these Proclip holders come in 2 pieces: The first is a custom-fit bracket for your particular vehicle, and the other is the actual phone holder.
So let me start with the holder. The one I got is adjustable and holds my Galaxy Nexus with Diztronic case extremely well. It's snug but not difficult to remove, and leaves plenty of room behind the phone for the craziest of extended batteries. A+
Then there's the mounting bracket... I selected 853616 for my '07 Impreza. It hooked in behind the panel just fine and it is made of the same plastic as the holder which was nicer than I expected.
Unfortunately, it goes downhill from here: This particular bracket is a bad fit. All the angles are off, and as a result the adhesive backed sections do not contact the vehicle properly. Even if they did, the adhesive is so weak that I'm not sure it would stick. I'm going to have to pull it all apart and go to work with some thick double-sided adhesive tape of my own in order to deal with the gaps and get it installed properly. Not cool, especially considering the whole kit ended up costing me about $60. Now, there's lots of different brackets for lots of different cars out there, so your mileage may vary.
At any rate, it does a much better job holding the phone than my cupholder did.
Got mine a couple of days ago.
As has been noted, they come in two pieces. The piece that holds the phone is very, very nice and will definitely work with any reasonable extended battery. It's very snug, but not too snug, and the fit is perfect. I got one of the powered versions and it's fantastic.
The car mount piece, for me, is of similar quality. The fit is near stock and the thing is damn near impossible to remove.
As a unit, the two pieces are rock solid.
Highly recommended. I wouldn't hold out for the Samsung three pin holder. I had that same holder (minus the three pins, obviously) for my Nexus S - and this one is far, far, far better.

How snug of a fit is it? I have Verizon galaxy nexus with extended battery and Diztronic case. Does it take quite a bit of pressure to put it in the holder? Also, is the headphone jack open at the bottom?

That's what I had to do for my wife's Civic. She got the car mount that affixes to the center console and that one piece of double sided tape just wasn't cutting it. I used a heat gun to remove the factory tape and then liberally applied tape to all parts contacting the console. It's been holding steady for over a year.
Proclip should probably give people more sticky tape - but I think the reason they only use a single piece is because they tout that the proclip doesn't damage the car and it could be argued that uber liberal amounts of double-sided sticky tape could potentially damage some surfaces. In the civic it’s all plastic so it’s NBD to use a heat gun and remove any residue, but if was a BMW with an oak dash then I could see people complaining.

I don't think any case would work with the proclip because it is a very snug fit and yes it takes a fair amount of pressure to put it in. Not so much that it will move the dock but certainly enough to keep the phone from coming out accidentally.
The only reason the extended battery works is because there is nearly a 1 inch opening behind the phone and the battery cover does not extend to the edge.
Yes the headphone jack is open but you would need a connector that is straight. A 90 degree connector would not work.

Official flip cover - $20 shipped

I purchased one of these a week ago and came in today, it's the official AT&T / LG flip cover with wireless charging and NFC.
Came in today, in a plastic bag inside a padded envelope. Works great, feels great, definitely the real thing.
Don't mean to sound like an ad, it's not my listing, but I've seen people getting replacement back covers without Wireless charging for $30+shipping, so this at $20 is a steal!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360868957051
One question, if I hold the phone or sit the phone on the table, back side down, the front flip cover part doesn't stay all the way shut. The right side is about 1/4th inch up off the screen. The auto screen on/off still works but it'd be nice if the cover stayed "tight" on the screen. Though I understand there is no magnet or anything on the far side so it may not be possible, is it... possible?
" the front flip cover part doesn't stay all the way shut. "
That's probably why it was a RETURN aka REFURBISHED and why there was only one of it. Discounted.
I just bought 2 from the same seller (extra one by accident, hope this seller a4c will let me return it for refund. He didn't even responded to any of my email telling him to just send one). I want to know what do you think of this flip case overall, since you've been using it for a while by now. Does it protect the phone from accidental drops well? I'm thinking I'll have to bind the cover with a large rubber band or something to keep it from opening up when it drops. Right now I'm using am Abecus flip case. It works okay, but holding it in my hand is kind of awkward and tiring. I'm hoping to do better with this lg flip case.
Yeah I'm also searching for a nice smart case for the G Pro and would love your feedback
I just got mine today, and I must say,I'm kind of disappointed. This flip cover case offers no real protection to the phone what so ever. The cover itself may protect the screen from scratches in the pocket or bag, but I already have a screen protector for that. It's really just a lg e980 back cover with a screen cover flap attach to it. There is no protection to the four corners of the device if the phone falls. The battery most likely to come out if the fall is a hard one. The flap itself doesn't attach to anything, there isn't a magnet or a button to keep the flap close. The overall appearance of the phone with this case, is just like the original phone with a black plastic screen cover, but it does give a smart look. Earlier the op mentioned that the cover won't stay tight. On mine it works fine, may be it's not staying tight due to that the synthetic leather needs be worn before it will fit right, but it's really not an issue. The plus side of this case is that when you close the flap, it does make the device sleeps, and open the cover wakes the device. This feature alone is worth the price of the case. Using the cover to wake and puts it to sleep beats the gestures and the button any day. I'm not sure about other features I have heard about, such as the NFC and the wireless charging because I haven't tested them. I may return this case because it doesn't protect my Phone, but my other cheap wallet case is already showing signs of wearing, and this case does look sharp. So I don't know. I may have to shop for another case soon. I will post in a few days after using this case for a while.

Well they just suppose look fancy but where never intended to really protect the phone.

What's fancy about a piece card board like screen cover attach to the back cover? I figure since they call it a case, it suppose to protect the phone. My cheap wallet case offers some protection when I drop it. They really should call it 'screen cover' because there is really not a case anywhere. But like I said, the best part of this 'case' is the screen sleep/wake function. I may grow to like this special back cover after all.

ArmadilloTek case

I will say that I received this as a promotion from the manufacturer but the review is my unbiased opinion.
This is a good quality case that will offer outstanding protection
It's a handsome case that fits the phone very nicely. It has a nice size lip around the top and bottom to protect the screen. It's not as bulky as some of the other cases and still fits nicely in your pocket. I really like it and will use it for a while to get a better feel for it.
I have also found that although the metal plate for my Imagnet mount fits nicely inside, the case is too thick to let it work properly. It would be nice if a case manufacturer would embed a metal surround inside the plastic that would still allow wireless charging and work with magnetic mounts.
What I dislike is the little flapper door over the USB port. I know it serves a purpose but it bothers me. I'm also not a fan of the little molded in head bolts.

Got mine yesterday, I don't mind the charging cover at all. You can cut it off if it bothers you
Links?
It's on Amazon.
I also considered this against the Otterbox Defender (Pro), but went with the Otterbox just for the added protection and easy B&M return if it didn't work out. The Armadillo looks better than most for drop protection, though.
What most put me off are those fake hex screws. They scream low-quality in their bad faith attempt to fool you into thinking this is like some screw-down case.. Why did they even try that? They didn't even change the orientation of each screw (not that it would have fooled me much).
I have had mine for about a week and I'm not very happy with it the stand is loose and flops about and it falls open the buttons are lack luster they are very hard to actuate and not raised from the phone far enough to distinguish between the case and the normal side of the phone I'm let down

Odd about the kick stand. I always found it to be firmly locked in place once it was clicked in properly. I agree on the buttons. It does take some concentration to find them sometimes. But they always seemed to operate properly.

Anyone other magnetic mount Qi chargers out there? Cheers.
This one works wonders for me. It's not magnetic but the self actuating arms are smooth and silent.

I have the limitless case for my Pixel 5. It's okay. I paid $34 for it on sale and even that feels overpriced. It's fairly large and bulky but protects the phone well. The buttons are sub-par and the fingerprint sensor is very recessed. I haven't tried any of their magnetic accessories so can't comment on that. If you do decide to pick one up, definitely wait for a sale.

Amazon would be your best bet. I got a case called the Dbrand Grip. You get to choose a skin to put on the back of the case and it's wireless charging compatible.

It has metal plate built in for magnetic mount.
I can wireless charge it without removing case.

I have both as well as the card holder.
I originally purchased the Aramid Fiber case, but that material proved to be a fingerprint/oil magnet. I then ordered the Speckled Fabric case and am quite pleased with it. It has a soft touch feel, doesn't attract dust or dirt, and cleans up very easily with a damp cloth. The case itself is not the slimmest, but it is also not what I would consider bulky, being just slightly smaller than the Spigen Tough Armor. The top and bottom edges have a slight lip to keep the screen from sitting flush when placed face down, with a screen level dip on the sides to facilitate edge swiping. Though it seems some may disagree, I feel that the edges are perfectly contoured, the buttons feel just right, and it has plenty of grip. Overall, in my opinion, it is a great case assuming you plan to take advantage of the Limitless 3.0 accessories.
The wireless charger mount is nearly perfect with one significant caveat: The vent clip is terrible. However, since the ball joint cup/tightening ring is on the mount and not the clip, if you already have another mount that has a 17mm ball joint, such as an iOttie dashboard or disc drive mount, you can easily swap in the Mous mount and it will fit and tighten easily and securely. As for the magnetic hold, it is very secure and does not have any alignment or slide/drift issues like most of the stick-on metal plate magnetic systems I've tried previously.
As for the card wallet, it too is nearly perfect, assuming you only need to carry a maximum of 3 cards and a couple of double or triple folded bills. It's a little stiff at first, but the leather-like material seems to have a little stretch to it, and will also return to form assuming you don't cram it too full. It also attaches securely and detaches easily.
At this point I've been using them for about a month, and I would say it's probably the closest thing to a MagSafe-like setup you can find for a very select range of Android phones.
All of the pieces also seem to be well constructed and are likely to last quite a while assuming you don't regularly put your phone through a lot of abuse.
My final piece of advice would be this:
Since their products are a bit pricey, buy the case first, try it for a few days to see if you like it. If you do, go back and use the 20% off code they give you with your first purchase to purchase the other accessories you want to add. If you don't, return it and you're only out the cost of return shipping.
bit of a late reply but yeah i have the limitless 3.0 case myself, i saw some people review it and they seemed quite positive about it so i bought it and i am happy with it, it still charges wirelessly just fine and NFC still works as well even tho its quite a chunky case which i rather have then a case which gives like no protection

Question Great Mod - IMO😁

So I've had this for 5 days now and quickly realized the shortcoming that Samsung missed. I bought a Tech 21 case as well as the Samsung flip case, (what a disaster,). I cut the pen holder off the flip case and super glued it to the back of the Tech 21 case. As you can see this pen slides up-and-down the slot allowing it for removal. But with the pen attached it creates a handle of sorts, a pivot point that allows you to now hold the device safely with one hand. Of course, with the pen located on the back right side, you can slide the pen in-and-out while folding the device. You can also use the pen's positioning as a stand of sorts upright and and otherwise. For me this makes this completely functional and a true phablet.
IMO
seriously pretty cool... may have to do this before I get the spigen spen case....

Nice mod! I had the same idea. I added a kickstand too. This is the Samsung silicone cover, but same thing otherwise. I used 300LSE tape instead of super glue though, just so I'd have the option of removing or repositioning without damaging anything. And yeah I agree it kind of acts as a handle and is quite nice for that. Not perfect but definitely better than Samsung’s case with the flappy bit.

That's why I did mine the way I did, to retain wireless charging. Of course I had to modify a wireless charger to push the coil right up against the edge of the stand, but it works. Seems like cases for this phone are nothing but compromises!
Got 1 of these off of ebay for around $20. works pretty good with my spigen slim armor on the front.
good job. that's the cleanest mod i've seen yet. I'm waiting around for the spigen case too, but want to see some reviews before i order.
I did the same thing with the VRS case... Only, I used Shoo Goo as it's only as permanent as long as I want it to be. I can easily pull it all off and the shoo goo won't leave any sign/residue that it was ever there. +1
