[Q] Stuck in bootloader and no recovery access - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, after root my wilfire with unrevoked, the phone doesn't boot and is stuck in the bootloader page but i cannot access to the recovery (surely bad flash).

do you mean hboot? if u can get to install update.zip try this http://www.kennynet.co.uk/2010/06/24/extract-rom-zip-from-ruu-in-linux/ or unrooting using the rru on shipped roms

I Agree on that , you can use to Revert Back to Original Factory Firmware via the RUU Packages , http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Buzz/ , Find a Suitable one

Thanks for your replies!
This wildfire was not mine but the owner send it to rma...
The same thing has just happened to my desire!
Just flashed the recovery and all is ok.
The problem on the wildfire is that i didn't found any "standalone" recovery image, and the ruu wouldn't execute because of a connectivity problem.
I think the owner missed someting and didn't put his wildfire into fastboot to flash th ruu...
Best regards!

Still stuck in hboot after flashing with shiped rom...
plz help.......

Are you s-on or s-off?

[Q] Questions about HTCDev. can I root or flash ROM?

I have been seeing posts saying that it is still S-ON after unlocked with HTCDev, is that true? And does the version of HBoot maters?
If it is still S-ON, may I ask, can I
Root the device
Flash recovery
Flash kernel
overclock
and Flash ROM
with S-ON?
I really want to help with my friend's Buzz.
#1 yes it does leave S-on but you are allowed to root your phone and from there you can install clockwork rom managar and flash clockwork recover and then you can install roms etc.
#2 Yes you will need to change the hboot, but they will prvide it in the instructions as the wildfire has an asterik for hboot upgrade via ruu.
Acording to heaps of people are using HTC Supertools to get root. Although i have a Desire HD, when i have used this i have not got root, but thats just seems to be me
It should work fine if done correctly.
Hope this helps.

As far as i know, the only thing you can't flash is the radio. I am not sure about kernel though.

You can't get into recovery when flashed it from rom manager by the bootloader option. You have to reboot into recovery from rom manager after flashing it from there cause it's not permanent.
I tried doing that too ,but it has the same result.
is there any way I can put cm7 without flashing into recovery ?
Or can I delete the recovery and put it again ?
My friend told me that if you have the image file of the Rom (which can be backed up from another wildfire having cm7), you can boot into that image and install cm7 .
can this happen ?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
You need to install cwm first, Rom manager just gives you a temporary downgrade to flash some older zips which use a different script to newer ones.
I believe you can use fastboot to install it, guide here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=
If you follow this guide that will get you cwm 4.x.x and allow you to flash cm7 from recovery, the latest version of cwm is 5.0.2.0 however and the img is knocking about in various places on this forum.

okay ,now this i my bad .
I tried rooting through a site which was meant for the wildfire s .
so i erased the recovery and put clockworkmod recovery .
After 5 tries , i finally got into the recovery and installed CM7 in minutes
Thanks to all of you for help
Heh nice to hear you made it

[Q] Downgrade hboot 1.02.0000??

Any chance to do that? I`m stuck in custom rom and no chance to flash any of stock ROM`s because of hoot version... Same thing with fastboot.. No chance to flash hoot .nb0 from fast boot.. Thanks in advance
Have you tried using revolutionary?
Or the HTCdev Unlock Tool?
Yes, revolutionary does not support this version of hoot...
And boot loader is unlocked by htcdev site, but that is a problem now for me..
Do you have clockworkmod recovery?
Yes, CWM flashed from fastboot? Is there a way to flash hboot from CWM or..?
What happens when you try flashing a rom from CWM or wiping?
Signature error if i try rom with hboot.img in .zip... I only could flash a rom without hboot.. But my aim is to downgrade hboot...
You can't just flash any .zip file randomly. Especially if it's something as sensitive as the bootloader.
And try flashing a rom in CWM, you might not need to downgrade.
Naturally, I understand that and I understand well how should i have flash.. When i wrote zip rom without hboot i meant Buzz_Froyo_hTC_WWE_2.22.405.1_SAFE_FLASH_ZIP...
I want to downgrade hboot version to be able to use revolutionary instead of htcdev unlocked boot loader, understand me? Mentioned Froyo ROM does`t have hboot image in archive, and that`s why is safe...
I'm not sure if the HTCDev bootloader can even be unlocked.
But don't take my word for it...
I just hope you're wrong.. I hope that team mate from revolutionary have some idea in the future days...
Actualy, after looking at the RUU you were trying to flash. It's "safe". You could try using a "non-safe" one.

Are you trying to flash an ruu Rom.zip from recovery?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda premium
@nejc121
Give me the link of "non-safe" to try?
@Scratch0805
Yes, i tried just that, but with no luck...
It can't be done like that, I think the images need unpacking first, if you look inside a custom Rom and compare it to your Rom.zip you'll see the difference.
I don't think you can use PC49IMG after unlocking with HTC dev either so your only option is fastboot and after I read the warning about not going back after using the tool it wouldn't surprise me if they locked it so it can't be flashed with fastboot either.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda premium
Every section of Stock ROM i could flash with fastboot, except hboot which is my highest goal... You are right, i can`t use PC49IMG.zip anymore...

S-OFF on Hboot 1.02.0000
Hi guys,
first of all... forgive my english.
Please help me to get S-OFF on my buzz with hboot 1.02.0000 UNLOCKED (Unlocked by HTC DEV SITE guide)
I've got CWM on my wildfire, and used gingerbreak to get superuser privileges, but CWM recovery mode doesen't work anyway, when i try to boot my buzz in CWM Recovery Mode, appears a RED Triangle with an "!" and I can't do anything but if i press Vol UP and Power Button, appears a menu with:
- reboot
- update with update.zip
- wipe cache
- wipe data factory/cache
I've tried all of these options, but it doesen't work.
I've tried with revolutionary, but it doesen't work, when i start the .exe file, it says
"buzz, with hboot 1.02.0000 is not supported at this time"
I think my issue is because of I didn't get S-OFF on Hboot 1.02.0000 .
please help me to flash the ROM 've chosen to use.
forgive me... I'M a SUPERNOOOB

when the bootloader is unlocked using the HTCdev method ,there is no s-off required.. BTW try flashing the cwm recovery again using the fastboot method becoz the options you mentioned seem incomplete..maybe after doing this you may get "install zip from sd" option in cwm recovery so that you can flash custom roms..
Alternative: You can rename the custom rom to update.zip and put directly on sd (not in any folder) and choose "update with update.zip" option which you already have in cwm recovery.

[Q]Root

Can i apply root using root.zip on stock recovery?
No you have to flash custom recovery to flash root.zip
If you are s-off or bootloader unlocked you can flash recovery via fastboot.
Later if you want to flash stock recovery, just extract it from any generic ruu and flash via fastboot.
was hoping that i can cause i tried almost all method here in installing custom recovery yet everyone of them gets stuck in black screen whith glowing button thanks for the help anyway

Have u tried flashing from Hboot ??
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S using Tapatalk 2
directly installing a custom recovery & rooting might be possible in most other phones, but u gotta unlock the bootloader on the WFS. U can either switch S-OFF or unlock the bootloader by going to the HTCDEV site & follow the steps there..
hope that helps

[Q] No ROM,S-ON and just working bootloader

Hi there!
I know there are a lots of questions like this but I'm just so stupid. I tryed to flash with Custom ROM with Clockwork recovery while I have S-ON. (My bootloader is "RELOCKED" if that plays some role). Now I'm stuck on the HTC logo. Can you please help me I'm so despered. Thank you.
Best advice runn the RUU to go back to stock, then use the AAHK TO ROOT your phone then you can flash a custom Rom.
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using Tapatalk 2
Thank you for the answer. Yes,but the RUU uses the adb so it doesn't work when there is no OS. I tryed to mount system, cache and data through the clockwork recovery but the error this time is that the RUU can't get information for the battery and the "Charge Only" mode. So that's not the way.
Did you relock the bootloader manually? How did you unlock it, using AAHK or via www.htcdev.com?
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium
Yes it was relocked using htcdev.com but that was not so important. The bootloader just need to be locked no matter Locked or Relocked. The problem was that I had CWM Recovery installed and when the Bootloader checked every zip (PD98IMG) it was just going back to the menu with no errors. So I flashed an oryginal "Android system recovery (3e)" and the installation began also with no errors.
Ok, so find the right PD98IMG for your device and flash it from bootloader. Doesn't need recovery. You should be able to find links pretty easily in Google. Which country are you from and which carrier?
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium
Thank you. I already did it , but my point was that you can't install PD98IMG without the original recovery.

That is wrong. You don´t need recovery to install RUU's. Those are flashed in hboot. If the file isn't working then or the RUU you are using is not the correct for u or the file is not renamed ok. But again RUU's don´t need recovery at all.

[Q] HTC Derise: No Rom No recovery.. How to install a rom on unrooted HTC desire

HI,
I have been flashing roms one after another first it was stock, it started to loop at bootscreen after flashing recovery and s-off.
I flashed Cyanogen Mod 7. It worked for a week and again looped on bootscreen.
then I flashed leedriod, which was working fine till last night. At morning when i woke up. my cell was off. when i started it it was stuck at bootscreen.
To avoid all this i flashed orginal RUU directly on MILDWILD. right now my HTC desire is unroot, and is without any rom and has no recovery installed on it.
I am unable to understand what should i do. How to install a recovery without a rom ? or how to install a rom without recovery? any suggestions?
Are you s-on?
If yes, flash the RUU in my sig using the PB99img method, then s-off with revolutionary.
If not, then install a recovery through fastboot.
How?
