It ain't always gonna be free.

I love this game!
However the limited number of levels in the beta made me develope a bad habit of not moving past a level till I got 3 stars. Could take forever to get through all of them now...at least that's what I'm hoping!

Picked it up on the market. Gonna be up for the rest of the night now lol

Im on the last set of stages. I now have a another bird that returns (to not give to much detail). The worst stage for me was the train and strawberry one.

ok so there is a new version of this angry birds out... i have beat the game with the apk i installed but i cannot upgrade it from the market due to using the apk...
how do i save the app data using titanium back up? i want to save the data, then delete the angry birds apk and them download it from the market so i have the new version...

I had the apk installed too, but I just dl'd the new one from market and it replaced the one I had. All my levels thay I beat were still beat.

oh ok, well i could have done it that way aswell lol, maybe for future updates ill do it that way. i just figured out how to backup the app data using titanium backup and then i unistalled the 1.3.5 version then downloaded the new 1.4.2 version from getjar and installed then restored my app data...
looks like i did way more work than just downloading the app from the market to replace my old one lol

I like this game a lot.

I have read that the new version is free but has in game ads. Does the above .apk include ads or is it an ad-free version.
Like many others in the market, I would rather pay for a great game than have to deal with ads...

Angry Birds
I searched... I swear I did, but found nothing.
It won't install.
I was having a problem with the light sensor on my phone, so of course a reset was in order. Well, after the reset (which didn't fix the light sensor) Angry Birds (and now Angry Birds Seasons) would not install. Downloaded fine, but won't install. I figured no big deal as a replacement was on the way. Well, got it last night, and it won't install on this phone either. I tried the apk and from the market, and it simply won't install.
I hate to say it, but I hope this is a stupid oversight on my part, because I really like the game..... so, any ideas?
EDIT... not rooted, stock G2.

Give this a try: Go to Settings, Applications, Manage Applications. Under the All tab, select Market, then force stop and clear data. I find this usually works when something isn't working right with Market.

[Q] Amazon Appstore and Google Marketplace keep fighting over updates

Hey, guys.
I downloaded some free apps of the day from Amazon's Appstore that now cost money. However, Google's Marketplace sees that I have that app and there's an update for it but I can't download it. So, right now it just sits there under my apps claiming to have an update. However, since I didn't pay for it through Google Marketplace, it wants me to pay for it before I can update it.
Is there anyway to fix this to let Google Marketplace be where I update all of my apps? OR is there anyway to make Google Marketplace know the app I got from Amazon is paid for and I'll update it through Amazon?
For example, I have CardioTrainer free version through Amazon. Google Market will update the app, but then Amazon will re-download an update for it. Then Google will then say there's a new update for it. And then Amazon will re-download an update for it. So, the updating just goes in circles here. Help, please. Thanks!
can amazon apps. stick with the original marketplace. what is the benifit of getting it from the amazon app store insted? do you like drm?
I'd estimate 90% of amazon app store users only have it for the free paid app of the day, lol.
OP: I've never had an issue with Android Market fighting with Amazon app store. Don't download the same app from Android that you get from Amazon. Just let Amazon maintain the apps you buy/get free from them.

I already told you: The free app of the day.
Although, you can call me a cheap bastard, I suppose, and tell me to just buy the freakin' app on Google Marketplace. So, there's that.
Happened to me as well. I booted into cwm and wiped cache and dalik cache and issue went away.
are you getting ther market to request update but not amazon. Thats my issue. Market says update available amazon doesn't but through market I always fail to install.
Clearing cache and dalvik didn't help me . Thanks for any more help.

Its going to happen sometimes when one had a newer version then the other. Not much we can do to change it.
I don't think that this has ever happened to me, and I have like all of the free app of the days (although not all of them installed).
I guess what somehow happened is that they got attached to the Android Market. You can detach them using Titanium Backup. Just long press on the app and it will give you the option. I'm not sure if it works in the regular version; I have the pro version.

You should no your homework before mouthing off!
amazon number one place for drm free mp3s
amazon allows me to purchase angry birds for a small one time fee and never see a stupid ad again. open your mind, do not just believe, do not act as though google is another religion.
everyone should use more then one source, people here at XDA should know that more then anyone else!!
once your market is updated, side-loaded apps, shouldn't show in the play market.

Amazon Appstore Download Folder

I like to grab all the free apps every day but don't install all of them. I let the download finish and then hit cancel on the install screen. Are all of these downloads saved somewhere hogging up space or are they flushed out when I cancel the install?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Well if it downloaded successfully, then it is still somewhere. You can check the downloads folder, delete the file, or open titanium backup, then delete them that way.
why not just visit the website and buy the free app that way? no need to install.
I'll have to start doing it that way since I can't find where they're downloading to. Thanks guys.

I believe /sdcard/Android/data/com.amazon.venezia/cache is what you're looking for.

No problem! Glad to help!
And I do that too...I pick up anything that might be remotely useful, but just don't install it if I don't think I want it taking space right now. I've even downloaded a few apps that I'd already paid for on the Android Market just to support the developer. They still get 20% of their normal price. I did that with Folder Organizer today, for example...a truly fantastic app that was one of the first I bought on the market.
The only time I don't do this though is on those occasions they've featured an app that is clearly crap. That's on the same theory for why I've downloaded apps I've already bought, in reverse. Sometimes I really DON'T want the dev to get the 20%, so I won't even download it to "see how bad it is." I think there was one "paid" app for free that not only did you normally have to buy to start with, but you had to pay to by credits to use it. Those I stay away from.

Better Keyboard 8 apk

I am looking for this keyboards specific .apk
I am fairly certain that I have found it online, but don't really trust the website. I have had it with every ROM that I have flashed up until RandomRom and suddenly it's no longer in the market. It's not a GB thing either because I had and used it with Anonymous i3.
I have never used app back up because often I am relieved to have a fresh start with my apps. Is there any way for me to extract it from a Nandroid backup? If there is would someone be willing to PM me and help me to figure it out? Does anybody have the app itself? Please help because I can't stand the stock keyboard or swype!
that's odd it might have been taken off the market. i had bought the better keyboard unlock key awhile ago but it's not showing in my list of purchased apps anymore.
I didn't find it when I was using the Market yesterday. I do have a backup from a few months ago though. It works perfect. I am not going to post it here...dont want a ban. That is/was a paid app. All of the skins are still on the market though. Maybe updating?? OP, PM me. Best keyboard IMO. Voice to text is unbelievable too

The Better Keyboard app was removed from the Android Market because of a violation in terms of service with the developer.

Wow, good find! Thank god for my backup! I love this keyboard. Damn, the skins are still on the Market but downloads fail. If anyone has any of the skins, can you please share them? That's not a. Violation right? They are/were free...EDIT..downloads failing due to insufficient memory and I have 2.8 gigs available. EDIT 2...ignore the previous. Skins still download. I am loading up on them in case they disappear

THX ( as usual ) JC .... I had never even bothered to look for additional skins for this app .... I just DL about 6 for future reference ... LOL

Asphalt Adrenaline HD fixed on Gnex! (apk inside)

Hey guys!! After buying Asphalt Adrenaline HD in the 10p sale I was disappointed that I couldn't use accelerometer controls.
I sent an email off to the creators of the game and just had a reply with an attached apk!
They instructed me to uninstall the old version remove any local data and install the new version. (i'm not sure if this removes user data as i didn't play the game so had no saves
It works like a treat !
EDIT: I had to re-download the 700+ Data package to play the game, it failed 4 times, but after clicked "restart download" it just carried on from where it left off.

Nice of you to want to share the APK but I don't think the mods will approve especially if it's a paid app.

As above, can't post paid apps on here
My bad, is there anyway to say only people install it if they have bought it ? or shall i remove the .apk?
I really wasn't thinking when uploading it
Remove the apk, I'm sure the devs will get the update online ASAP if it's fixed the problem

It was very nice of you to post but I would remove the .apk. They will push out the update to the Market when it is ready for prime time.
They will check license on start up after you downloaded the content. You won't be able to play it if you didn't pay for the app.
I own the app, tried this but after exiting the video it just drops me to the app drawer again. Cleared cache and data, but no better
This is quite the no-no. File removed.

Ever since I got my phone, I started getting spam such as "you've won a $500 card to Best Buy, just answer a few questions" daily. These appears in my drop down list and not SMS/messaging.
What can I do?
Its called air push. There is a permanent opt out apparently in the market, but it has mixed results. For me it doesn't work for my brown it does
Not my brown, my bro damn auto correct
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
Kkg is correct. Not sire if it comes included in the phone but from my experiences it happens after you install certain apps that include it.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
actually there is a newer SPAM bot system than air push, just last week i installed a new game and it came loaded with it, good thing is, all i had to do was uninstall that game to remove it
annoying as hell, sorry forgot the name of that game, it was some shoot them up game, just don't remember the tittle
just today i found yet another one, this one was caught by the antivirus software when i tried to install a fake temple run
Run the airpush detector and download an antivirus app. Its probably one of your apps. What did you download as soon as you got the phone? Was there something free or did you get one online with your cpu and install with the cord? You can fix this easily. If it really is something that came with your phone rooting and flashing should get the job done. I have gotten 2 weird messages but they originated from tmobile. Some attempt at raising revenues.
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
there is a app that will tell you what app is causing it airpush detector i think is what its called
I have gotten that spam crap when i open my browser
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
I would definitely check through your apps and delete the ones that look "shady" to you. I can usually tell if a app looks shady or not just by the app itself, but it is sometimes hard to distinguish. Also, running a anti-virus app mentioned by the posts above me will help in flushing out suspicious looking apps.
Its an app. It happened to me with free mp3 downloads app lol
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Some GOSMS themes now come with this. Sad ****ers have got to go.
If you install Lookout's Push Ad Detector and run it you'll know which apps you have installed have these ads. It'll also direct you to the way to opt-out if you can or you can uninstall the app.
Link to app --> https://market.android.com/details?id=com.lookout.addetector
the opt out never works, is best to just uninstall the App/Game and give them bad reviews
The application stated above works great! I had been getting the green plus signs in my status bar that say I won something or free best buy gift cards etc... I found out that it was caused by Go sms themes, like the black& white theme and purple theme specifically. I hated getting these adds. It made me feel like my phone was unsafe. Do virus apps really do much, or do they just take up room? Thanks for the application and any more info! David

there is a fake ICS them for Go Launcher EX that also comes pre-loaded with SPAM bot
Thanks, it found MySettings. We will see in a day or so what happens.
just long press home key right after you the get AD. The offending app will be there. Uninstall
