Tom - Kudos! This ROM is very fast and well done! I was really impressed with the single EXE / script to run through the whole flash/reboot process in a single step, and including the network auto setup wizard worked perfectly here in the U.S. on TMobile for me.... wow.... slick!
btw, OS is 5.2.1948 build 18548.0.7.2 for those wondering...

very nice and neat rom! the interface is superd. so far everything working quite fine except:
1) "Notes" not working.
2) SMS. I will need to click on "To:" to pick up recipients. No autocomplete or auto lookup if i type in the recipients name.
PRO:
1) FAST ROM.
2) 60+ MB free storage.
3) pBar is cool
4) too many things that i cant speak out all!

It has some very good new features like the HTC Action screen, and also the Quick Launcher.
Regarding the Quick launcher is it possible to change the apps on it?

Same question,
I found that Arabic need layout support,and current font cant show Arabic normally.
and the same issues to any other languages needs your own font.
Current font has tested in Chinese(all),English and any other Latin languages,Russian and Greek,Japanese,Korean
Thai and others need your own fonts in which your past ROMs.

[MOD] Samsung contacts application with Arabic and Hebrew T9 Dialer

I know a lot of people were waiting for this, and as I made the Hebrew support a long time ago I decided to add the Arabic support as well.
This application is the Samsung stock Contacts.apk which I added Arabic and Hebrew locale and T9 dialer.
The Arabic and Hebrew T9 dialer works on any locale you choose, so if you want to stay in your English locale and still search in Arabic - you can!
Other feature included in this mod:
Dialer button 1 has the ability to search for the symbol - '
Dialer button 0 has the ability to search for spaces!
I want to thank akbarhash who worked hard on the Arabic T9 buttons - This would not have been done without his help.
This app works on the following DEODEX rom versions and should work on any other version:

I flashed it, and it got my conact and phone to disapper!
luckily I had the conatct.apk backup so I flashed it back...
so now I have my old dialer back...
Are you sure It's suppose to work on KK5 with CheckRom ROM?

You don't need to change between anything. English/Hebrew/Arabic are all enabled at the same time.
What you do need to do is to change your system language to Arabic to see the Arabic letters on the dialer buttons.

Are you using a deodex rom?
I am using kk5 deodex and it works perfectly (and so do 1000 people who downloaded my rom)

The code is easy to make. But I will need to find someone that can photoshop those letters into the dialer buttons. or at least find ones that are already made and use them.

I'll need to flash checkRom to see.
As I said, I'm using KK5 myself and it works great.
try to wipe dalvik cache after flashing, maybe it will help

so it's not that...
Maybe its because I flashed something called Phone Mod from kitchen which cancels the increasing ring...

there is problem coz i don't have arabic for the system only support arabic for read & wright ....thats mean i cant see the arabic letter right ??

You can download an app called morelocale2 and then choose Arabic.

Hello,
I am trying to use your apk but I loose the phone and contact application too.
I use KK2 version.
I think the problem is that the apk is not signed.
I have tried to sign it but it also won't work.
If I remove "android:sharedUserId="android.uid.shared" from androidmanifest.xml the application installs and works but the contacts do not show up... I think the problem is that the apk is not singned with samsung sign and cannot work with other system apks...
Can you point me another way??\

system APK's do not need to be signed.
I tested this mod on KK2 and KK5 successfuly.
please try to wipe dalvik cache

The apk works with deodexed roms. If you are on the stock rom it won't work.

Hi,
I have a Desire Z from Singapore...
Your mod worked only after I apply the changes on files
vision-keypad-sea.kcm
vision-keypad-sea.kl
The desire Z is the same, the keymap is the same, but it reports to the system to use the *sea* files.
I think the Hong-kong ones (vision-keypad-hk.kcm) occurs the same...
Also, key ? reports wrongly '(' for alt+? (should be ") on sea and hk files. It is wrongly not on your mod, but on the Aokp rom. I reported it on aokp rom topic and fixed on my device.

I'm using a flashable package contain my customized stuffs such as: keyboard layout, pre-installed apps like: Titanium backup, ES File manager, gps config and some personalized settings such as: localize, time zone, adfree hosts file... to restore everything after flash a new ROM.

However I haven't figured out what the keycodes are for the 2 shortcut keys on the keyboard so as to reprogram them for brackets as you did.

You need to find out which keycode present for 2 user keys. You can use KeyEvents Display app on Google Play Store to get scan code of these keys: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=aws.apps.keyeventdisplay
And then re-map your keyboard layout => reboot, and it should work fine.

I think it is possible but ATM I can not find scan code for emoji key. And I'm not sure that default framework and Android system allow we to activate that popup using hardware keyboard.

Hey everyone. First, a huge thank you to tiger for getting me thinking in this direction and providing the excellent base files.
I've made a slight mod to his to fit my typing style. I tend to use the left ALT and SHIFT heavily, so having that be control was cramping me a bit.
my bind (changes) are as follows:
left alt: left alt
left shift: left shift
right alt: right ctrl
right shift: escape
camera button: app_switch
i love having 1 button app switch even at the cost of the camera button.
also in testing this i found out that ICS actually responds to ALT-TAB on the DZ keyboard which is kinda funny.
a final note: i was lazy and didn't update the script in the flashable zip to reflect the new binds, so please disregard that if you try this out.

The keys don't appear to take effect on the EliteMod Rom, particularly the USR# keys.

since the change log says it's newer with support for ^.

Just changed the function on ?-key when i press shift or alt that instead of getting a = i get ) so now i got ) twice on the keyboard^^
i am on sabsa prime v 12 and got a htc desire z (austria)

Look like EliteMod using same keymap with AOKP as #2 or you are using different locate setting (mine is WWE).
I've updated #1, please re-read and post your missing keycode here.
FYI, I using this mod for my current ROM: Flinny JB CM 10.1 and it work well. Tested and works with: CM9 unofficial, AOKP, Andromadous mimicry and flinny (ICS, JB, JB CM10.1).

9 Select the option "Reboot system now."

I'm sorry, but I don't think that's changelog. That's bug list. Afaik Changelog tells you any changes that are made from the previous version.

Previous version did not create
So I can not speak about the changes
Someone who had a previous version can write something like that

I have noticed quite a few spelling errors in this Settings portion of this ROM and would like to correct them. Can anyone tell me how I might do that?
At a guess I need to:
1 - Unpack the Zip file the ROM is packaged in;
2 - Decompile the Settings APK (assuming there is such a file);
3 - Edit the file(s) containing the spelling errors;
4 - Recompile the Settings APK;
5 - Copy the recompiled Settings APK onto the phone in place of the original APK.
Note that I don't actually know how to do step 4 but I believe I'd use the APK Toolkit?

I'm glad to hear that you're making improvements to the appearance of this ROM. I thinik it already looks good but with some words spelled incorrectly and some screens not themed at all there is definitely room for improvement.
My interest is in English since that's my native language. Do you want me to list the spelling mistakes I have found and other things I think need improvement? One obvious fault is that when you select Operators in the Network list of options, the screen you then see has not been themed at all.
Here's a sample of spelling mistakes and other errors I see:
(1) On the lockscreen there is no space between the day of the week and the date;
(2) In the Normal list of options, "Langauge&IME" should be "Language & IME";
(3) In the Personal Manage list of options, "Date Backup" should be "Data Backup". In fact "Personal Manage" should probably read "Personal Management" but that's a matter of opinion.

While I have the attention of some forum members ( ) I'll ask another question: is it possible to specify icons for specific applications? I find that some applications' icons are hard to see in the default Joy Home launcher. For the moment I have actually switched to using the Xperia 10 launcher made available here in the GS5660 application and theming forum. I have found some icon themes which include better icons for some applications but I don't know how to force Joy Home to use them instead.
Does anyone know how to achieve what I want?

For now i'm theming the framework and making some improvement to the rom like bln full working, gps patch etc... will see a release soon

I can, but I can't do it all myself, its too much and im busy with school etc..

You can use apktranslationtool by elsvignolo to translate the xml (it includes many dictionary) but you have to compile with apktool ..

I quite like the Joy Clock app because it has so many useful functions, including a World Clock. In the World Clock though the names of all the countries are in Chinese characters and I need them in English. Is it possible to have this changed?
