External Secondary Battery Charger? - myTouch 4G Accessories

I had a great external secondary battery charger for my Nexus One. I would NEVER have to plug in the device, only swap batteries throughout the day. It was a perfect system and the charger was only $5 off ebay.
Mytouch 4G doesn't seem to have any yet for sale on ebay. If anyone finds an external battery charger for sale for this phone, please let me know.

I'm also very interested in this and had the same setup for my nexus. Did you just buy oem batteries or did you have luck with any after market options?

at first I tried a battery off ebay that promised to be "just as good as factory" for only $8.
It did not hold a charge at all. I returned it for a full refund.
I bought a $25 dollar factory battery back when the nexus one online store was open and that worked perfectly, of course.
For getting my sister the same battery swap setup on her Mytouch slide, I just ordered an extra battery directly from tmobile, but they charged $50 for the thing
I'm not sure what an extra battery for a Mytouch 4g costs, but probably it will be close to the $50 the mytouch slide battery was if you get it from tmobile.
Ordering from them is probably overpaying, but after my bad experience with nexus one ebay batteries, I thought the extra money was worth some peace of mind. Because I'll tell ya: you cannot tell the difference between a cheap imitation battery and the real thing just by looking at them. They are identical aside from the horrible charge capacity.

YMMV, I got 2 of them for my G1 about a year ago, each would last about the same as the battery that came with the phone. I drowned one when I was swapping them on a rocking boat lol but the other is still working like a champ.

In my g1 I had a seido innocell that packed approx 20% more charge into the same size package.... the batteries are pricey, but worth it to me...

For this being only your second post, it sure does look a lot like spam advertisement.
Considering the hellfire conflagration a bad Lipo Battery can cause, I would be nervous about buying cheap knock-offs. If Seido charges $70 for these and someone else charges $4, you gotta wonder what you are getting. I doubt Seido has a $66 markup on their batteries.
it's not something just a deal on a cheap. battery if you want a spare or if like me your charge port is broken and use a few batteries and wall chargers, if you want to spend $9 for the same battery with a back cover go ahead, not Spam just a good deal, show me a better deal for a cheap extended battery. like I said I don't charge the batteries using my phone so these work great, good to charge and leave in the car or plus its always have a normal sized battery in my wallet

TEP covers broken usb ports too. I got a brand new Evo when I took mine in for repair.
I bought my evo used but tried to do the Touchstone mod and messed up sodering or something and now the charging port does not work and the g sensor doesn't work, but I do not miss cord charging I got like 5 batteries and 3 external chargers, that cost me like $30 for all that off cheap ebay sellers, so I always have like 3 batteries always charged and ready to go, don't even miss cord chargers any more

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Seidio had that large of markup considering they sell cases with a holster for $50. Which of course is just two pieces of molded plastic with a bit of psuedofelt and rubber finish. And which in my case, started to fall apart within 6 months after purchase. Frankly I don't think Seidio is the slightest bit better than the cheap eBay sellers, they just make a lot more money based on the perception that the charge more so they should be better.

Exactly alot of companies leverage their name so they can sell the same thing as other suppliers at a higher markup. It's good to know that alot of "manufacturers" don't actually make their own product, they actually contract out alot of their products.
Eh... $4, i'll bite.. We'll see how it works out.
Total for this and an external charger was like $7, so not too much money lost.

I purchased a couple things from them already off of ebay. Shipping was a couple days longer than I expected but they are reputable. My battery I got from them also works great...
Finally got around to testing it...
Charged it with the phone off, unplugged and turned it on.
Charged it until indicated green then unplugged then powered down.
Repeated this process four times until icon indicated 100% power.
So far I'm down to 11% and have been going 42 hours and 50 minutes with my normal use (texting, couple calls, light internet use, light gaming).
All in all for $4, great purchase. I was even more so surprised when the eBay seller contacted me and told me it would not fit with the stock battery door (I already knew that personally). They informed me that I would be getting a battery cover I believe, or a full refund.
I didn't mind either, so I just said whatever works.
EDIT:: Checked my inbox today, and they are sending a back cover it looks like.
"Now the battery cover in stock ,and we have send it to you for first time ,this is the tracking#:removed
Would you pls check it later on www.usps.com"
Fun grammar, so we shall see what this holds in store for me.
Are they still for sale?
I made an offer for the same price as the recently accepted offers and got rejected
When I went back to purchase another, they were $104 and some change.
My thoughts are they realized they did not fit the stock EVO and they needed to revamp their posting and or include a battery door.
Do a search on ebay, I found some by a couple different posters.
I can't post links yet but they are about $10
I charge mine with an exteral wall charger just for the battery, and between my two 3500 batteries in can go two days with each battery, but I usually just swap them every morning

I received my 3500mAh chinese battery yesterday and used it until it died. I charged it over night and unplugged it at 6am this morning. When I first pulled it off the charger it immediately dropped 6%, from 100 to 94. At first I was like WTF but I know the USB/AC Charger is notorious for this so I paid it no mind. It's nearly 3pm here and my battery now has 8% life left. Almost 9 hours battery life... something my 1800mAh chinese battery was already able to do. I know I can't expect much from a $8 battery, but I thought it would put out more juice than my stock one at least.... am i missing something?

Thanks. I didn't think about using the external charger, so hopefully tomorrow's performance will be better than todays. I'm curious though, if the 3500 battery wasn't fully charged, why did it show as 100% before I unplugged it?

Ebay batteries

Has anyone tried the ebay batteries yet? On the OG Epic I bought 3 batteries and external charger for 9$. I was very happy with them. They did not last as long as the oem battery but were close. And there were 3 of them. So I am wondering if the ones on Ebay for the touch are worth purchasing? Especially since I can't get one from my local sprint store.
The OG Epic batteries work with the ET. They're just lower mAh.

Yeah I know. They don't fit as well as I would like but they work. But I am wondering about the ebay one's for the touch.
I'll definitely vouch for the Hong Kong eBay batteries. Bought a monster 3500mah battery during my OG Epic days and it was great. Moved on to a NS4G and got a 2 pack and charger for 9.99 and carried them with me in my man-purse (3 total batteries), worked great too, threw caution to the wind and really USED my phone. Batteries lasted as good, if not better than the stock battery. Good thing about the external charger was that it charged the batteries to 100% vs 94% in the phone (damm the "safety" whatever)..
Just got this S2 and still feeling out the stock battery for now...

Just curious what others have found quality wise with replacement batteries. I've been looking on eBay and have come across a few extremely cheap ones and some mid priced ones as well. Any insight would be appreciated!

Edit: got battery now and so far so good. Way better compared to stock. For the price u can't go wrong. Worst case scenario I'm out 15 bucks if it malfunctions. Fyi using SBC kernel with it.

I've bought several 1800mAh and 1500 mAh aftermarket batteries from eBay and they have out-performed my stock batteries (they're all made in China, anyway). Why pay $40 for one battery at Sprint when you can buy 6-8 from eBay for the same price. Just my 2 cents worth.......
I bought three aftermarket 1500s and an external charger (it was a single purchase) for about $11 with free shipping.
They're definitely cheap and they shipped from Hong Kong. They don't output their temperature or other information that is read by battery monitoring apps, but what I gained was definitely worth the price.
I haven't seen a difference in battery life between my stock battery and my aftermarket batteries. I've used sbc kernels with them without issues, though I rarely charge through the phone.
I couldn't justify spending 4 times the price or more for a replacement or extended battery. Just keep your batteries charged via an external charger & you'll never have to worry about plugging your phone in or cutting back to save battery life.

I would highly recomend seidio they are rated the best as far as listed mah verses actual mah . They sell them online and at bestbuy. Somewhere on this site is a link to a guy who tests a lot of China Japan batteries for actual mah and price per mah. I use seidio 3500 from bestbuy platinum but it cost 69.99. It has 30days warr but it takes almost that much time just to get the phone used to it. Also, its true that that mostly come from the same part of the world but the factory rates them on cell quality and price points them based on this factor. So i would argue that you get what you pay for.
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
I agree with gentyle completely. I bought a seidio 3500mA battery and a replacement 1500mA from another company and I'll never go with anything else. The 3500 outperformed the others by 3 times even though it should technically have only a bit over doubled them.
Swyped from my synergized best friend
Bought a 3500 mA battery off ebay, for $15, it lasts the entire weekend with moderate use.

anker batteries are pretty solid.
I got some EzoPower 1800mah batteries from Amazon last month. 3 batteries and charger for under $15 shipped. So far so good with quality and battery life. I was going to get the Anker but they were out of stock so I tried these out.
Ankers are still in stock.

Recommend you get the two battery + charger. Much better deal for $23.99 compared to the single battery for $15.99 .
I got mine when they were on sale for $9.99 .
Sweet battery, definitely is up there with how long it lasts. Daresay it's almost as long as when I had my phone when it was brand new with the fresh OEM battery.

I ordered a used OEM ET4G battery from "MKK Group Inc", it was legit and works great, looks identical to my original OEM battery.
Went to order another, MKK were all out, so I ordered from "Moonlight Express". This battery was too "long" by a few millimetres, it wouldn't fit in the phone, well it maybe COULD fit, but I doubt it would come back out again...
Dunno what version of this device this one goes to, it's SN is THaB1130ZS/5-B, EB625152VA 1800mAh
My original OEMs are SN TH1BC19VS/5-B, EB625152VA 1800 mAh
&
SN TH1C321CS/5-B, EB625152VA 1800 mAh
Also I have 2 dead and bloated batteries with TH1BC15FS/5-B & TH1BB19XS/5-B, so I'm guessing the TH1 series is for our phones and the THa series is for some other slight variant.
That or it's a fake perhaps. In any case I'm returning it, and hoping MKK gets more in. Or maybe just get this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2520mAh-Ext...-II-2-Epic-4G-Touch-D710-Sprint-/271104168282
Edit: Thanks for the tip someguyatx, I'll avoid that one. The 4100mAh Qcell extended battery I ended up getting from Amazon has been amazing.
About the Moonlight Express seller on Amazon- they have great customer service and immediately issued me a full refund, and they haven't even provided me with a shipping label yet. Impressive.

Dont buy the 2520mah battery for 30 bucks. Its almost certainly a fake. There are several on ebay falsely advertised like this.
I ordered these at the end of January:
http://www.amazon.com/Anker-Batteries-SPH-D710-Cellular-Multi-purpose/dp/B005HBH1R2/
I got two batteries and the wall charger for $19 and change. Right now it says they're out of stock, but the seller was AnkerDirect. Seemed like a pretty good deal.
No problems whatsoever, and I actually use the wall charger more than I thought. I can rotate the batteries in and out and have a spare for the time being, and will give one to my wife when her battery starts spinning.
I bought an ec technology 1800mah from amazon for 7.99, i just got it yesterday feb 18th, the funny thing the battery was marked feb 1 2013, very fresh cells. So far battery life is steller, highly recommend ec technology.

I would watch what battery you
because most battery gives hardware problems like "Burning up the motherboard" as thats what happened when I bought my last battery. I forgot what it happened
but there was a day that it overheated my phone
And now my whole phone couldnt hold a proper battery charge and charge correctly because something got messed up, lucky i had a warranty as it replaced my phone for free.
Usually sprint told me to "Make sure you buy the battery that has *Samsung* Written in it" you know the stock ones?
Those I recommend getting. I always made sure i bought those and no problems with my phone for a year and 4 months of far

I don't see why the cheap eBay ones (~$5) wouldn't work with an extended battery. (The cutout/space for the battery is the same size/shape as the one in the back of the phone)
But, it's only a couple of bucks more to get a charger with 1 or 2 (regular-size) batteries... might as well get a couple of spares?

I've been using mine for 6+ months, with no ill effects. (On both my Epic 4G and Epic 4G Touch - it's awesome that my backup phone uses the same size battery!)
Bought my cheap eBay charger for ~$10 with a "2200mAh" battery - I haven't noticed any longer life than my 1800mAh original. (It's probably that same "Chinese math" that gives us 4000W car audio amplifiers for $39.)
I have noticed that both batteries don't seem to be fully charged by this external charger - they show 100% when installed in my phone, but neither lasts quite as long compared to if they were charged in the phone. But, this is a small price to pay for having a (mostly) charged battery, ready to go at all times.
UPDATE: I bought some of the "Anker" brand batteries suggested in this thread, and they last a lot longer than the $4 ebay ones I was using previously. $20 for 2 good batteries + universal charger (Amazon) was worth it.
