Bose Bluetooth Headset - EVO 4G Accessories

This just came out the other day, and I was wondering if anyone had grabbed it yet?
Best buy has them in stock..

Holy crap $150 for a bluetooth headset??? Yet another cheaply made, low quality overpriced turd from the marketing wizards over at Bose.

Well the original Jawbone was $120 or $130 when first released. Can't complain if it really works. The Jawbone was and still is the best bluetooth released to date IMO. Well worth every penny. I purchased 3 of them. Only downside was the design wasn't the best fitting but the sound was perfect.

Jawbone not necessarily the best anymore either...

agreed; that honor now goes to plantronics voyage pro plus...simply 5 ****
in every area, except style...
best sound, best comfort, best multipoint/a2dp, "stereo" sound through a single earpiece, longest battery life, and everything else.
I think after owning at least 25 bt headsets, I can say with confidence that this is the winner!
and, if you look carefully, you can grab it for 69 bucks or so!

Voyager pro plus, nice headset but hurts my ear and royally sucks with glasses.... I hear they are releasing the same thing in a bud style. M1100 or something.

I was talking about the first Jawbone. I didn't care for the Jawbone 2. I do own & like the Icon but the first model is still tops in my book. Still have 2 of those laying around, just got tired of ordering ear loops for them. They break too easily plus they get very uncomfortable. The design wasn't all that great but it gave me the best sound of any Bluetooth I've used to date.

yeah, I could see that some glass frames would be a bit of a problem..
I saw the earbud model as well; I think its on CNET or somewhere like that...
does it hurt your ear because of your glasses, or for some other reason?
I can wear this thing for 8 hours with no discomfort what so ever, and I hate things in my ears..

The glasses, yes, caused too many issues plus, I guess I have odd ears because the rubber loop and bulk behind my ear caused too much pressure and annoyance. (and pulled my ear out like dumbo)
I have to have custom ear molds done for headsets and can only use my right ear.
Side note....
If you've never done a custom ear mold, you haven't really experienced perfection! Even with your pro plus. My audiologist does mine usually but I've ordered from http://www.averysound.com before too.

yeah, I have heard that the custom ear molds are the way to go..expensive, but great if you need them..

I have the bose, it's my 2nd favorite. 1st place goes to the new Motorola oasis. Still looking for the perfect BT. Both the bose and Oasis sound good to people on the other end. THe bose sounds better than the motorola oasis on my end. The Oasis is just so comfortable, the best feeling BT yet. I've tried 30+ different models and those 2 are the best. I'll try that plantronics pro next. A friend of mine who has used BT for years as well, says the Sound ID is his favorite. Anybody else tried them? The bose should have a2dp for $150 but it doesnt, that sucks.

sound ID is overpriced and worthless; no mac support, and only firmware up dateable on 32 bit windows machines..plus, only average sound quality, just overpriced, and targeted to iphone users...

he's using an iPhone so maybe that is why. I know he had tried all the expensive motoroalas, platronics, blueant etc and likes the S ID the best. Must be an iphone thing..

jaybird is releasing a third version of their freedom headphones next year. i will be willing to sacrifice top notch quality for a nice set of stereo BT headsets

My biggest complaint with bluetooth headsets is the sound. None of them are loud enough. Someone needs to make a weather proof, loud headset for construction workers.

I have a few BT's as far as sound quality goes the Bose works the best IMHO, it is comfortable for me, now is it worth 150 ... Thats up to you. I concure the lack of a2dp is a huge bummer. Try it out for 14 days, Best Buy will let you return it, at least they always let me.

I have the Bose Bluetooth. It works well with my Samsung Captivate (Android 2.2), but it will not play music via Music Player. Can't seem to get it to pair to the music player.

And I've discovered why, on the Bose site itself:Can I listen to music on my mobile phone with the Bose Bluetooth headset?
No. The Bose Bluetooth headset was designed as a communications device. It was not designed to receive stereo music from a phone or PC.

Best Bluetooth headset? Looking for compact size and good volume

I've been in the market to get my first Bluetooth headset to use with my EVO. I eventually narrowed it down to either the Plantronics Voyager 520 or Voyager PRO. I decided to go with the 520 since it was $30 vs the PRO's $70 and I didn't want to overspend if the 520 would suit my needs. It works fine with the EVO, but max volume is barely sufficient. I can hear the other party, but I have to make sure to listen carefully when driving. I was hoping for something more along the lines of what I experienced with the wired phones that came bundled with my Pre - very good sound, landline quality, plenty of volume. However I'm not sure if the PRO is too big, considering I'd like this to have this with me (in my pocket) all the time. I'm also not sure if the headset or the EVO is the limiting factor with volume, the PRO might not be any better.
Can anyone recommend a BT headset for the EVO with good volume, and that is also preferably compact like the Voyager 520? Thanks.
best is a personal opinion
i have a jawbone and like it cuts out the background noise voice activated and fits nicely on my face
i've been using the Jawbone Icon for over a yr. and im very happy with it and it works very well with my Evo....

Hero? Thinker? Is the difference only aesthetics? I can't even tell how these ones go on your ear.
Yes, "best" is very subjective, of course. I can say I'm looking for compact and sufficient volume when driving on the highway, so hopefully that helps narrow it down.
i loved my jawbone 2, but have not been impressed with audio quality on the icon. the plantronics pro is an amazing headset, but im with you on the size. ive been using the plantronics 975 since it came out and ive yet to find anything better. its light, small, comfortable and has excellent audio quality, though i wouldnt call it exceptionally loud. you may want to look into a custom ear mold to help with volume

The difference in the different Icon models is the aesthetics and the voice responses (I believe they call these "personalities") but they are all the same hardware.

Thanks, I'm just unsure if this volume is as good as it's gonna get with this phone. Would hate to spend $70-$100 on the Voyager PRO or Jawbone just to find the same results and have to return. I'm interested in hearing others' opinions of BT volume while driving on the highway.
I get great wind noise reduction with the Voyager Pro. I've owned the Jawbone I, Jawbone Icon, BlueAnt Q1, and several Motorola headsets. The Voyager Pro has the best sound quality and noice cancelation of any Bluetooth headset that I've used. Regarding the Voyager Pro vs. 520, from what I've ready the 520 is built better but the Pro has better sound quaility.

Thanks, would you say the Voyager PRO has sufficient volume with your EVO 4G in all scenarios, even while driving? How would you compare the size/weight to other headsets you've used?
Jawbone Icon Thinker on special for $49 with free shipping at Walmart, Here you go
ant q1?
How is Q1 audio loudness comparing to other's mentioned here.
I have plantronics 320, older model and volume also on that one could be louder so i expect same loudness of the bt on 520, in which case i would pass on it. Jawbone Ace is kinda on expensive side for Bluetooth. No reason to pay double since i don't think it's twice as better, so contemplating on AntQ1.
Anyone has it to say it's damn loud ?
I second the Voyager PRO. I preferred headset, and I've had quite a few including other plantronics, nokia, and motorola.
jawbone, it's the only BT i've ever used that I didnt want to immediately trash after using the first time.
I like the moto txth17 headset. Plenty loud. Great sound quality and either fits with a loop or those rubber ear things that never work for me. Also its a2dp so it plays all the audio in the earpiece and streaming music quality is actually quite good.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I would vote for either Moto H17txt or Jabra Extreme. Picked up the Jabra for $43 after tax at Staples, on sale and with $10 coupon, like it quite well.
After comparing the -
Jawbone Icon
BlueAnt t1
Plantronics Discovery 925
I decided to go with the t1. Anyone have any experience with it?
Will be replacing my trusty, old Plantronics Explorer 360 After a good year and a half run...it finally "bit the dust"
Thread started in "Accessory" forum...
i just got a jawbone II yesterday, and the sound quality is sub-par, and it fits like a shoe fits my hand (not well)
honestly, i went back to my ps3 bluetooth. quality is SO much better, and it fits. it's bigger, but the difference in comfort and sound quality more than make up for it
Plantronics Pro is out of question for me. Too big and long. cmon. I might as well wear one of those antennas with backpack for better reception. lol.
Icon is twice as much as others. Thinking of ant q1. Anyone had it ?

It is already outdated. BlueAnt is already about to release the Q2. Check out the thread I started in the Accessory forum. I posted the links to the official Q2 site.
Also from some videos and reviews I read, the Q1 was sort of.cheap in the build. That's why I went with the T1. Basically a Q1, but built a lot more rugged.

Vibrant headphones

Does any one have vibrant headphones for sale?

I might. Just got the Vibrant and have a set of headphones I like so never even taken them out of the box. Send me a PM and we can talk. No idea on price so make an offer.
I have a never used pair from mine too.
Also have a pair that I haven't used.
I suppose you got them now...Testing them against the ones that come from hd2..hd2 has more bass and the vibrant ones are louder...I only posted this cause I recently tested them lol

There are a few OEM ones for sale on eBay too if you do a search for Samsung i9000 headphones.
Just go into a T-mobile store and see if they have any extra ones. IMO the IEMs that come with the phone are average at best. I would invest in a nice pair, I picked up a pair of Thinksound Rains for super cheap on Amazon and they are sound awesome. They are suppose to be releasing a pair with a mic on it shortly.
Im still looking im willing to pay like $15 for the headphones,i really want them

I just tried using my old iPhone headset with the Vibrant. It works just fine. I can even start and pause the music player from the mic button.
Thought I would mention this since it may be that any iPhone compatible headset will also work with the Vibrant. Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks.
damnn... i never paid attention to how good the stock headphone sounds... i was ready to sell this... i must say these are some quality headphones...

i've had $2 earphones that sounded better!

These are just headphones, no mic on it. It is the same style as the ones provided and I even think you can use the same interchangeable plugs that came with the phone. I bought some and they were great.
Does anyone know where I can purchase headphones that have the interchangeable earbud sizers but also have a mic and full music control with the skip buttons (like the HD2 headphones)?
I love these:

really? these sound better than any pre-packaged headphones i have ever used.
I find that the stock headphones are far superior to most others on the Vibrant. I have a pair of very expensive sound canceling Sony ear-buds that sound like trash on my Vibrant but are great an all my other devices. If you look at the stock headphones the connector has a third band. Supposedly it emulates 5.1 surround sound. I listen to allot of music with layered tracks (Tool, MarsVolta, SOAF...) and with the stock headphones I've been hearing stuff I've never heard before. One thing I found strange with the stock headphones is that at first I had to apply a good amount of pressure on them to get them connected properly.
UPDATE
I was just thinking that other band is probably for the mute control. Either way, of the several other headphones I tried the stock sounded the best to me.
UPDATE 2
LOL, just tried my old school KOSS and they sound every bit as good as the stock. To bad they're huge!!!
I got a pair of klipsch S2m and they are great buds. $25 on amazon vs the msrp of $60.

the third band is for the microphone.
I've found the 5.1 button to be more of a 'make what ever your listening to sound like doo-doo' button.

Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Headset?

Hey everyone, I was hoping to get some input from the community on this one as I have been searching all over trying to figure out what the best bluetooth headset with a small form factor is for noise cancellation and overall quality.
I don't want it to be gaudy, I like the subtle headsets that don't extend half way down your face. I work in a very loud environment (auto shop) so I need something that will drown out the ambient noise pretty well.
I don't want to go out and spend hundreds of dollars on different headsets trying to find one that works well. Hopefully some people here can enlighten me on what works and what doesn't based on experience.
TIA!
Why don't you try the new motorola S10-HD ($80 at best buy) , this is the upgrade of the S9-HD. it has only 1 noise cancelling microphone. Compared to the Nokia BH-905 which has 7 noise cancelling microphones, but it cost $249 at amazon.
I have the S9-HD , sonic quality is very good. I haven't tried yet the S10-HD even though it has only 1 noise cancelling mic, I think the sound will be a little bit better than the S9.
I personally use the Motorola H17. Not a fan of Motorola phones but they make excellent Bluetooth headsets. They sell for 100 bucks at your local Tmo store BUT you can always save some money with our good friend the internet.
Newegg sells them for 53 bucks brand new
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...268&cm_re=motorola_h17-_-75-982-268-_-Product
Or you can get it for only 25 bucks if you don't care about the fancy packaging
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...280&cm_re=motorola_h17-_-75-982-280-_-Product
I've used this while driving and windows slightly down and my gf was still able to hear me fine. Also, I never turn this over 60% volume because it is super loud as well. Would definitely recommend it.
try the Sound ID 400, i had it for a while, it's pretty good and you can get it for around $50
i have a blueant q1, noise canceling is good enough that my i could talk to my wife with the top off and doing 60.... couldnt find any others that would do that.

I agree. Value wise, the Sound ID's are a great bang for your buck. I've had Motorola, Jabra, and BlueAnt that cost double, but were not much better quality.
For overall sound, the BlueAnt was best, but durability was bad. I left it in my car and the rubber over the earpiece pretty much disintegrated within 6 months.
Jawbone ICON! You will never use another.
Hi there, I just purchased the Blueant Q2 from ebay for $40.00 and it is the best bluetooth I have ever had. I am constantly driving for my job and while on the road, even with the window down doing 75 I can hear every word the other person is saying perfectly and they can hear me clearly with no other noises ever. SIMPLY THE BEST EVER!!!!
I would say the best option for your money is the official PS3 headset. It works with cellphones, and has a noise-canceling microphone. It also comes with a dock which if connected to your PC or PS3, will turn your headset into a desktop mic. Ive seen it as low as $25, but you may be able to find it for cheaper, especially since a new model was recently released.

I read a lot of positive comments in xda or amazon review,
after getting one new from ebay,
I am totally disappointed.
The sound is so choppy and is even worse than the Samsung WEP490 which is only $10 bucks when I got my vibrant.
I followed the procedure and the sensor is physically touching my face,
I even tried putting it on both ears!
I dont know if it is only my device is defective but the first impression is so bad..

its nice that that you think the dr dre sound good, but im dead serious, take a pair of dr dre beats listen to them then plug in the denon d2000,s i listed, i will bet you a 100 bucks after hearing the denons you will blow up the dr dre beats out in the back yard with a M80 firecracker.......
The op never mentioned which pair they have, the entire line is called beats by dre. There's the over the head pro's and studio's, the in-ear tours, the diddy's, the gaga's, the bieber beats.
You kinda need to tell us which ones you received in order to make a proper suggestion.
I like nice high quality headphones myself, but our local audiophile here seems set on getting you to buy a giant set of expensive headphones that might not fit your needs. Giant studio phones are awesome, but do you like having to carry those around in public? Are you looking for a set of in ear buds? I'd rather not suggest something you don't need.

I've used my beats studio with the captivate a couple times, but I made sure to keep my iphone as an mp3 player because the captivate just can't compare. The 5.1 option is pure b.s. imo, they just tweak the eq to make the mids sound distant.

you're the first person that i've ever say iphone will be kept as an audio player
As for 5.1, it's to create a different sound stage not for eq.

Giant studio phones are awesome, but do you like having to carry those around in public? Are you looking for a set of in ear buds? I'd rather not suggest something you don't need.

Does it really matter which ones he has? They're all insanely overpriced, look and feel cheap and sound horrible... You can grab some headphones for about half the price which will blow them away in terms of audio quality, same thing for the Bose... Anyone who says the Beats (or Bose for that matter) sound decent is not an audiophile, not even close.

you're the first person that i've ever say iphone will be kept as an audio player
As for 5.1, it's to create a different sound stage not for eq.
My 5+ year old cowon single handedly beats both iphone/ipod/captivate/most other mp3 players on the market and that's just me and every other audiophile out there
OP:If you can return it and then do it and get a cheaper, better alternative.

the captivate and all other SGS models have a very capable Wolfson WM8994 codec with excellent output capabilities. in fact, that's the reason that supercurio is working on voodoo sound, to better use the SGS full potential.
Beyerdynamic DT-770 80 ohm model. Far far superior sound quality with better quality bass for $200. Use the extra $100 for an amp.

Possibly.
Message toooooooooooooo short.
I got some white colored over the ear awsome looking and sounding wesc headphones for 50 bucks. They sound in my opinion, really crisp with really good bass and a big bang for your buck compared to my BOSE's Quiet comfort 3, which sound better but not 300 dollars better theres a difference but compared to many others out there, the wesc BEATS them out rite in price, value and quality even tho I prefer my BOSEES the name says it all- quiet comfort (but really loud)

You don't need to be an audiophile to appreciate good sound. The reason why people say Bose or Beats are good is because they don't have any experience with anything else. They have gone straight from stock earbuds from their phone/iPod/etc. to $150+ Beats, so yes, it would be an obvious improvement.
Are there better options? Of course, but how would you know if all you've ever heard are stock crap and Beats?
Anyway, we can't blindly say what he should get instead. We don't know which Beats he has (which determines price range) and what he wants (in-ear, over-the-ear, open, closed, etc).

Word up, love me some cowon. That being said their **** is more wack that Samsung when it comes to proper firmware updates, hah.
I really really love my O2, but I probably won't buy another cowon product again, they let the ball drop too many times, but damn if it doesn't sound fantastic.

Headphones?

Anyone know of some good headphones to use with the Incredible 2? I'm looking for something like the sony headphones
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR-E10L...D4/ref=sr_1_33?ie=UTF8&qid=1322849895&sr=8-33 like these but with a mic/remote?
I do have bluetooth but it's a PS3 one and it's too much of a hassle to reconnect to my phone after connecting to ps3 and I prefer stereo over just one ear.

These are AMAZING! I use them with my Inc2 all the time. I got 'em when they were on sale on Amazon for $40!
Abit too expensive for me.. and i don't really like in-ear buds =/ Wait is it possible to just use my current headphones and still use the phone to speak through?

yes. i do that all the time as well as use my truck speakers with the tape adapter as my speakerphone.
I use a pair of hd sound buds I got from 5 below for, you guessed it $5. They are the best I have seen. The sound is real good and if they break I just go get another pair. They have a mic for calls too. Everyone I call says I sound real good through this headset. Cant beat $5 for a good set of buds w/ a mic. I have paid a lot more for sets that were not as good. I keep a spare set around b/c I am hard on headsets.
I use audio technica's clip on earphones, really comfortable and portable. The cable is lined with cloth, so it is a lot more sturdy than plastic or rubber, and it is near impossible to get it to tangle up, even after being tossed around in a wadded-up mess for a few days. Best headphones I have ever bought. They are a little on the expensive side, and they don't have a mic, but I listen to a lot of music, and I definitely fee like I got my money out of them.

Might wanna check out Amazon's selection of Sennheiser earbuds right now. I've always trusted in Sennheiser for great quality at a great price.
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_s...nheiser+earbuds&rh=i:aps,k:sennheiser+earbuds
These ones:
http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-MK...YMF4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1323525004&sr=8-1
are marked down from 80 to 23! And some of the reviews say 70 was a great price for the quality. The next model up retails for 120 and is on sale for 30.
Or, go to Target and get a pair of Skull Candy ink'd earbuds. They are 17 or so, and sound comparable to much more expensive sets. Was really impressed by them for paying under 20. And the noise cancellation is great, too.
I just bought a pair of sony sweet little buds:
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR-EX33LP-BLU-Style-Headphones/dp/B001RB24KK
They were 20 or so, and the reviews on Amazon are pretty positive, but I don't think they sound as good as the Skull Candies at all. So they are going back to the store
I find that the urbanears bags works well with a mic for 30, or the klipsch s4a sound pretty amazing for 100. the klipsch app works pretty well for controlling headphones with one button.

The Klipsch s4 is pretty bass heavy though. The phones I prefer for compressed, on the go usage are the Klipsch S2 if you can find any variety of them.

Koss Porta Pro's. Sound great, nice sound balance, and pretty darn affordable. They have a lifetime warranty, and I believe I saw a version with a built-in mic.
I find the klipsch s4 to be reasonably balanced, but the bass is better tuned. they are squeezing a lot out of the high end.
I think that was a very complicated way to say "i agree."

What's Bluetooth phone for great quality at a great price...? Incredible 2.
I use the Skullcandy Titan model. For only $40 they're amazing. I see no reason to go above and beyond and pay $99 or $150 for Beats when these are awesome and compare to the same quality output. They're totally worth the 40 bucks.
For daily music enjoyment riding mass transit (buses/subways or trains) - a pair of in-ear, noise-cancelling headphone/mic is what I carry/use (picked up mine from a Brookstone sale 2 years ago, iphone compatible) and it is great.
The key is to install/enable/use DSP Manager on the ROM if not stock - I can fine tune the music/video settings as needed for various boost & equalization.
For the occassional oversea/long distance air travel, I take the full-sized Sony NC headset with the cups - I just don't feel the need to spend hundreds to buy into the Bose brand.
YMMV, of course.
I use the Beats by Dr Dre ear buds. They are around $75, but the difference between these and a $5 pair is I wont have to buy a new pair next week. These baby's last.

I like my cheap headphones. The sound is as good as I need it to be, they have lasted for two years now, and if I do lose them or break them I can replace them without breaking the bank. I use them on my motorcycle, in the sauna, while I work out, work in the yard, etc. I don't know that I would be comfortable abusing an expensive pair like I do these.
For me they are just like sunglasses, the cheaper they are the more I like them and the longer they last and the more expensive ones get lost, stolen, or broken right away. It's like they have an odd niche in the market for being backwards or contrary to what one would think.

I rock some Klipsch S5i w/my DINC2
