[Q] Camera related - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My problem is that after deleting a file from DCIM folder after taking a backup on my PC (the folder where the pictures clicked from the phone are stored); when I click a new picture it is stored with a filename of the deleted file.
e.g if I hv stored Image006 on my PC and deleted it from the SD card, a new image will have the name Image006 although I have an Image035
So then wen i backup the images again i hv problem of images having the same name.
Is there a way to prevent this from happening i.e the new filename should always be the one after my last image.
Also I dnt know if this happens only in Desire or in all phones.

Copying photos from a PC to GNex changes date/time-metadata

Hi,
I formatted my sdcard and now I want to copy the backup photos from my PC. The EXIF-metadata on the PC are correct, but when I copy the files to the phone the timestamp changes to the time/date of the copying process (i.e. "now"). The pictures aren't shown in chronological order in the gallery. What can I do to fix this? I'm using Stock 4.1.2.
Thanks

SDcard problem, media contents can not be detected

No media files on the sdcard are showing up in any apps other than file explorers and they are viewable/playable on stock apps through the explorers. Started this morning. Only thing I noticed that was different was that a few apps auto updated while I was asleep which might have caused the problem. I tried dismounting/mounting, restarting the phone several times, made a backup of the sdcard on the computer and formated it on the phone but still no luck. I tried moving the files to different folders in the sdcard as well as the root destination (if thats what its called, I put the files on the sdcard not within a folder) still nothing. When I copy a file from the sdcard to the phone memory only then do they show up, but moving them back to the sdcard does not fix the problem. When taking a photo, the file is saved in the same destination as my older files on the sdcard but the new image is the only one that shows up in the gallery. It's driving me crazy! Please help! :crying:
Apps that were updated included some samsung update. Could that have caused the problem?
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100. Not rooted.

pictures not showing in gallery after moving to ext sd card

Hey guys, I recently transferred my photos from phone storage to sd card now it is not showing in my gallery. I am pretty certain I found the answer somewhere on here before but I can't find it anymore.
1. The pictures are there in my sd card I can view it in my a file explorer, but it does not show in "gallery"
2. I tried clearing data for gallery and media. I also tried force closing them, still a no go.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks!
You can always go to your DCIM (or DCMI i really forget) -> media ->whatevs folder you got and put your photos there. Some of my photos don't appear in the stock htc gallery either. Must be directory thing. I just use google photos but DCIM is the main directory so it should work.

Click to collapse
Yeah I've done that before, but I remember the was a really simple solution. I think I came across it in one of the rom threads a few months ago, but can't remember.
Aside from restarting the phone there's always this.

Clear the cache with an app like sdmaid.. It is probably retaining old links etc
I wish I stole my HTC M9.
Is there a ".nomedia" file hidden in the folder that contains your pictures? If yes your problems should be solved if you delete it.

Suddenly Disappeared Folders in Gallery

Hi, 2 days ago 2 of my folders in gallery got suddenly disappeared. There was a 'Camera' folder and a 'Kamera' folder (in Turkish), and there was a 'Screenshots' folder and a 'Ekran Görüntüleri' folder. Folders named in Turkish (disappared ones) was like the real folders, they were the main ones. All my new taken screenshots and photos were in that folders. The other ones contain some old photos. I remember i deleted 2-3 videos but did not deleted any of that folders accidentally. I looked at google photos but there were only old pictures. I tried many recovery programs but they didnt work because they are not deleted, they got lost. Is there a way i can try? They were so important to me please help...
(Also i tried to find by connecting PC, but i dont want to try format because they could be in internal storage.)
