[ROM]Fission RC1 Droid Pro-Vanilla Generic Android-AOSP Like - Fission ROM Manager - Droid Pro Android Development

A flashback to when ROM was first booted ... the good ol' days.
Please follow all install instructions exactly! We do not have SBF yet to recover bricked phones so you are installing the ROM at your own risk. Myself nor any team member of Team DeFuse will be responsible if you soft brick your phone.
The Pro version is still in RC stages and soon will be up to par with the Droid2, Droid2 Global and Droid X builds. I do not have device so counting on your input to bring this up to speed.
Thanks!

About Us & ROM:
The first generic Android platform for current and future Droid devices. We are a bunch of mad hackers, modders and developers that were not happy with the current model of Droids being "Blurred" so we began a mission to rid our devices from the blurriness of VZW Android systems. It started with a crazy idea of messing with the Droid2 SDK that has turned into a full fledge AOSP generic type of ROM. We have incorporated many features that were only seen in AOSP ROMs before this. Some of the features include Reboot in Power Menu, custom built Framework, vanilla Android GUI, totally blur free app folder and many more AOSP like features to come in the short term future.
Features:
True Vanilla ROM with generic Android feel, not themed to look line one. No blur apps...
Reboot in Power Menu.
Custom Framework - 10% battery increments with display percent number & without.
Overclock ready out of box.
Lots of free memory.
ROM has root and has been deodexed, and zip alligned.
Busybox installed and symlinks have been applied.
Clean base for you to customize how you like.
And many more...
Fission ROM Manager:
Fission ROM Manager (FRM) is a utility we developed to make modifying your Droid phones much easier. It was designed for the new Android user but also very useful for the more advanced user. You can download ROMs, themes, updates add ons and much more. Once your downloads are done you can install everything within Android. No need to go into recovery any more.

Themes:
Check Fission ROM Manager. Many themes are up.
Changelog:
2.4.2 -> 2.4.3
Removed Sound and Speach Recoder
Added new Sound Recorder that can be launched from App Draw
Added 10% Battery Display option to FRM. Will reset current theme back to Stock Fission.
2.4 -> 2.4.2
DX build gets new framework whcih should fix the random USB reboot when plugging in.
All previous fixes are now included
Latest Android Market
More Code Cleaning
Full version ROMs and Upgrades are available. Upgrade will only replace packages. It will not wipe app or framework folder.
No reason to wipe cache or data if coming from Fission ROM for either Full ROM or Upgrade.
2.2.1 -> 2.4
All Devices are now equal. Perform and look the same.
Framework improvements all around. Colors, placement of graphics...lots of little changes.
Almost all apps for each device have been rebuilt from source. Either from AOSP source or Moto source.
Each device now has device specific apps. Will help of future Blur add on. Many people been asking for many different Blur apps so there will be an add on Blur package. Blur package will be heavily modified Blur services and then each app will be an individual add on.
MMS menu compose graphic now fixed.
Phone mute fixed.
Rebuilt Moto Apps (MediaGallery, Cam and Music) are now standard. They work better and will help with Blur add on. Generic Android Apps will be available on FRM.
All devices now use Moto Multi-Touch keyboards. They are themed as Generic Android Keyboards.
More cleaning of code and tweaks...
Few other changes I can not think of right now
Small bug with Global ROM. If you need to activate, slide out keyboard and hit the number key you need to use.
No need to wipe data or cache if coming from previous Fission ROM; however the installer will wipe your system folder so back up any changes you have made to your system folder.
DO NOT USE 2.3.1 Themes. They will work but you will lose lots of changes. Themers are working hard now to update themes.
I must say these are the best Fission ROMs so far. Lots of love and hard work went into them.

/browser fc. third party browsers should work [CONFIRMED WITH SKYFIRE]
/strange writing on dialer tabs
/setting fc; brightness, volume, haven't tested wife yet
/visual glitches in status bar

So do you think this could be usable as a daily ROM in its current form?

Haha...expect a nice christmas present This was the very first build without having a device in hand.
I would not suggest it as daily ROM yet, was looking to for bug reports to see what needs to be fixed.

There's a system update that just came out yesterday. It would be great to include that in your next RC. For whatever reason, I can't install the update. I think it's because I'm running CWM recovery (Droid 2 bootstrapper).
EDIT: I'll be your tester for sure if you include the latest system update! It apparently improved the phone call quality and global GSM issues.
Here's the info:
Introduction
We are pleased to announce the new software update for DROID 2 Pro by Motorola. The software update by Motorola (Version.2.26.60.XT610.Verizon.en.US) includes numerous enhancements. Upgrade today for peak performance.
For more information on Motorola updates and product support, visit us at DROID PRO - Motorola, Inc. USA.
Who Can Use This Release
ALL Motorola DROID Pro users.
After downloading and installing the software release, you will notice:
Enhancements:
Improved audio on voice calls.
Improved stability and performance.
User interface display now refreshes when user switches from GSM/UMTS communication to Global Mode.
Device now prepends 011 to Country Code to send SMS messages.
Global Mode no longer resets when connecting to a USB charger.
Visual Voice Mail now detects airplane mode while Wi-Fi is active.
Prompt return to full screen brightness after wake-up.
Upgraded Bluetooth firmware.
Improved interoperability with Microsoft Internet Application Gateway (IAG) configurations.
Device string format for Exchange changed to include device name and version number.
Upgrade to Google applications Release 7.
Other Improvements:
Improved audio during voice calls.
Reduced user interface lock-ups.

Hey guys,
Nice work. I put this on my Droid Pro and it works fairly well. Here are a few issues:
1. The right convenience key doesn't work. there was no option to set it to anything.
2. On the notification bar, the battery meter kept showing that it wasn't charging and periodically a second charger icon would appear, showing it charging.
3. The airplane mode icon would periodically appear, making me think I wasn't connected to the internet. I'm currently running on wireless and also roaming in Canada (all data and network are open as I have a Canada calling plan and int'l data plan).
4. The 3G Mobile Hotspot isn't there. This is a must-have for me and is the main reason I went back to stock.
Overall, the UI seems very snappy. I'm running Launcher Pro plus and it really flies on this ROM, much faster than on Stock.
Can't wait to see this baby improve over time.
Q: Does this include the latest system update? Just wondering as Android 2.2 is listed under Android Version, instead of 2.2.1.

Great. Looking forward to it.
Q: any way to build wpa_supplicant into it so it recognizes ad hoc networks?

Gents,
I'm based in the UK and on a business trip to the US a couple of weeks ago I got given a Verizon Droid Pro as a gift during the conference I was attending. It's completely useless in the UK at the minute as it won't let me use a UK SIM (seems locked to Verizon only, not much of a World phone then...)
And so I'm happy to use the device as a test device if that might help getting things un-Verizoned and eventually someone comes up with an unlock for the GSM radio so I can use it in the UK. This device is way faster than my Galaxy S and so I'd love to make it my main device (unless I brick it, that is )
Regards,
drfonz

Hi Everyone,
Happy New Year!!!
Sorry that the progress of this ROM has been so slow but I do not have a device to build with. However that will change today, found a good deal on a Pro from craigslist so hopefully the person comes through and meets up with me today. Once I have it the ROM should make it to final version pretty quickly.

Installed RC1 and patches this morning, and I must say it's nice to see a stock Android ROM, but there are quite a few glitches, graphical and otherwise. For example, I can't use the Market because it force closes when I try to download any apps!
This makes it tricky to install any support tools I might need to go back to the Motorola ROM to get back to a working system. Any ideas?
Cheers!
drfonz

Another thing that makes my problems worse is that I no longer seem to be able to side-load APKs into the phone as it gives me a fatal error every time I try. That means I can't install ANY apps, including Fission Rom Manager!
So I'm seriously stuck!
drfonz

You should be able to use the device anywhere but you'll have to pay roaming fees. You can call Verizon International support to get an unlock code which you input once you insert the new sim card.
Sent from my SCH-I800 using XDA App

I was reading about Fission and I'm curious. Are all Fission Roms AOSP vanilla?

Also some of the build.prop info is spoofed to enable you guys downloads to better games from T-mob website and because as far as I know only the infuse has 4g? correct? either way leave the build.prop as is.
NOTE. the framework WILL NOT work in any other ROM other than RC4.2 deodexed.....which is this ROM, sorry. I always want to remain open and help people from all ROMs cause I don't take sides, but unfortunately with the build prop work and the framework work(work work work all this darn work ) is enduring. Please if you want wifi on your ROM please contact your dev and have them chat to me and I'm more than open willing to share if they want to embed my work into their ROM.
NOTE: All non-wifi users and non T-mob wifi users, wifi scanning rate is high you may experience higher than usual battery usage with wifi on. You've been warned.
NOTE: THIS IS SUPER ALPHA NEVER BEEN FLASHED OR TESTED - FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK AND DO NOT ***** ABOUT YOUR PHONE SCREWING UP!
please do a backup before flashing.

Always have this cleaning script on your internal SD card ready
If you're
- switching kernels,
- have issues with auto-rotation,
- the cam,
- bootloops
- want to remove init script
- recover from a failed overclock attempt
please give either:
- lippol94's updated cleaning script (apply via CWM recovery): http://www.multiupload.com/XFH1GCK4MB
or
- WiwiPouPou's SYSTEM CLEANER SCRIPT (also apply via CWM recovery): (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14805606&postcount=21739)
a try
the kernel already applies some cleaning steps during install but sometimes that's not enough ...

afaik, darky has "AOSP" style status bar and... almost everything is AOSP style`d.
first signs are good....no bootlooping. Thats a start at least lol.
Anyone heard of data restore causing bootlooping? Thats what I have got. So right now I have an awesome blank phone. raw. nothing on it.....that works. And everytime I restore data, I get corrupt android phone process bla bla bla and /or bootloops from hell. Reflash and I am good I feel sad. All data is goneskis

T-Mobile wifi-calling only works for T-Mobile USA customers. It can't be used by anyone else. I have read once that there is T-Mobile for France and someplace else that could possibly use it, but I can't confirm that. It can't be kanged to work for any other carriers. It can be ported to phones that T-Mobile does not sell, however, if you take, say your ATT phone to T-Mobile and you find someone to port the app for you, adding it directly to your stock ROM, or a custom ROM.
Its back online again now fellas.
I will have a small incremental update that's come about from adjustments on my own phone, but this still doesn't quite fix facebook sync as such. I have full account sync, profiles, contact details, joining profiles all thats missing is how to open the final field in sqlite for the picture/image to display and then we are rockin-n-rollin
As for the wifi, I will be doing slow updates on the framework until this is sorted. I pretty much NEED logcat outputs from any users otherwise I am totally screwed.....I am not a Tmo user so that will be a necessity as I apply updates and getting feedback.

I don't know how I missed this post yesterday, but I guess it's a good thing as i had a very busy and frustrating day. Jeez, there are so many emotionally ill people in the world. Anyway, I'm in no mood to flash anything so I'll have to do this tomorrow. I would rather have given it a quick test in Doc Masters, but I understand that the amount of work that went into doing this was great and the framework files are no longer compatible. Life took a lot out of me today, so again, I'll do this tomorrow. Thanks!

What we've always done is freeze the app with Titanium Backup, then unfreeze it when it was necessary to use it. I'd like to add to the warning above for clarification; the wifi-calling app uses battery even when someone is not using it. Freeze it, freeze it, freeze it, to save your battery when not using it. Did I mention to freeze it, lol?
Cheers for adding that Raymond. Such a help with information.
I have brewing a very smooth, very nice and sharp ROM for release shortly. Non-wifi, but I have mastered the battery consumption v performance balance (I think) and coupled with stability. A week past, multiple flashes, coming from multiple ROMs pure stability every time.
Alpha T-Mob
It's 8:26 Pacific time and I'm doing my backups right now. Will have something to report soon.
EDIT: Wiped data/factory reset, wiped cache partition, wiped dalvik cache, formatted /system, flashed twice, rebooted, forgot to flash KB5 modem (damn, what's wrong with me), letting it sit.
EDIT: Wow, Jarmez, this seems really fast and snappy so far.
EDIT: OK, when I first started setting it up I got the message about wifi-calling and connected to my network. It seemed stuck on 'reading sim card' but I rebooted to flash the KB5 modem and didn't wait. I thought not having the right modem would make it fail anyway. Update: No signal after flashing update, and settings fc's, the same as your second Vibrant ROM did. I will try restoring APN manager to see if I can get it up and running that way. Not worried yet.
EDIT: Rats, I looked in 'About phone', and under Baseband version it says 'unknown'. That means the modem did not flash correctly, which means also there was nothing wrong with your second ROM, (remember, I couldn't get the modem to flash) So, why would that cwm from Scrizz not flash on your ROMs? I'm in a pickle 'cause I never took care of the Nexus drivers, so I can't use Odin.
EDIT: OK, I take back the previous statement. For some reason modems won't flash on this ROM, the cwm is fine. We need to find out why, right away. I tried another one and it wouldn't work either. No way to test wifi-calling unless the sim can be read and with no modem, it can't be. Help!
EDIT: Got smart, I think, switch the modem.bin out of an earlier version of Onecosmic's for the one in this ROM and am trying a non-wipe install.
EDIT: Baseband still unknown. Jarmez, we have a problem. No modem=wifi-calling can't be tested. ROM is fine otherwise though.
EDIT: I looked in /radio and modem.bin was there. I pushed the KB5 version manually then rebooted, no dice. 'No Service' notification,'Baseband unknown' in 'About Phone' and Settings>More>Mobile networks>force close.
Alpha T-Mob
We need a Vibrant version of this. This has that i9000 speaker mismatch (to hear sounds out of the speaker, you must have earbuds in the 3.5 mm jack. Also I've noticed 4 copies of each song in the Music player. The volume buttons may be reversed, but that doesn't really matter. All the soft key buttons behave as they should for a Vibrant.
The wifi connects extra fast, and the signal is excellent, however, with no sim recognized, I can make no calls. If there is no system settings/modem fix by tomorrow morning, I'll have to restore so I don't miss calls.
Looks like straight AOSP (ughh!) would like your Touchwiz touches, not much but something.
Alpha T-Mob
Oh, well, I guess it's back to Doc Masters. I was just informed of yet another ICS build that's strickly AOSP. I don't get it, it's like a hatred of anything Touchwiz even though some things Twiz are miles ahead of anything AOSP. Plus, I've waited too long with the hope of wifi-caling to not be able to flash a modem.
Don't get me wrong, this is an incredble ROM, just like your first one. But I can't test the one thing it was made for.

[ROM] OverDrive - Put your phone into OverDrive

Welcome to OverDrive
OverDrive is a ROM me and a few people have been working on for the past few months. This ROM poped-up first in Android Central by me Redbaron, The reason this poped-up was the main fact that there are only a hand full of ROMs for the LG Optimus V, and I am a flashing junkie, meaning I change ROMs like I chew gum, chew it up until the flavor is gone, then spit it out. So here is a ROM created from Stock, and built from the ground up. Having both tested to work on new and older Optimus V's in this thread you can find StockOV which is a rooted and modified running Android 2.2.1 updates are coming soon for this ROM. As for OverDrive, OverDrive is a heavenly modified ROM ported from Stock, running Android 2.2.2 removed all VM's stock apps, kept the Activate app, imported modules and files from kernels for optimum use and performance.

Interesting let me look into that, as for a launcher, I know ADW works great. Please try out GoEX and see what happens, maybe let me know what happens?
Thank you for the complements
Hi there yes im running go launcher i like it. I think when there is alot of apps you have that illusion that its faster because of scrolling. I use horizontal launcher pro setting on this and its pretty nice too. But so far scrolling sideways works best for me. ADW is nice too. The kernel works nice for me too i use 480/806. Battery still seems to be good
I know exactly what you mean, I'm currently working on a custom kernel for OverDrive, I am also working on a custom ROM
I just bought my Optimus V and roms Display a Blackscreen. I can tell they are booting and things seem to work based on sounds but the video drivers are not working with this new phone.
Scratch That, I Just Tried To Install It And It Won't Load For Me Either. Just Getting The Black LG Screen, Please Help (It Was The 2.2.2 Version)
Edit: I'm Trying The v1.0 Now.
Edit: v1.0 Works But 2.2.2 Is What I'm Looking For.
Very interesting, I'm assuming both of you have newer Optimus V phones. Am I correct about this? If so then I need to investigate this issue, because this ROM has been known to work on both old and new phones. So all you guys get is a black screen yet you can hear the start up sounds? Sounds like my kernel needs the latest display drivers for the new Optimus V.

Don't know how handy you are with a kernel but I have but two requests if at all possible.
Multitouch typing is a bit of a pain on the OV. Alot of the times close taps (like C+H on the keyboard) get registered as a slide. Sometimes even further away keys like U+P. Dunno if its possible to fix that in the kernel but it would solve a major annoyance of mine.
The other, being implementation of "Deep Idle". I figured since CDMA eats more battery than GSM when connected, it could grant some extra time on battery.
And lastly, good luck on the ROM. I am stuck with Froyo due to IHO performance/battery woes and outside of my failed attempts to theme BumbleBee as Gingerbread, I've had nothing to look forward to. Will be testing more when you have your kernel up to go with the ROM.
One last Q Iforgot to ask. With regards to your current Stock version, is the Time Without Signal bug fixed there? Overclocking is of no real use to me, so flashing the BB kernel does me no good _for now_ (I could just use BB! ).

Yeah I just bought my phone about a week ago. I can hear the Start up sound and even unlock the phone and start to dial. The Screen is on I can see the back light but The Screen is completely Black. I would assume this is due to the Display Driver issue.

Thank you for your input, every peace of detail helps.
I have been investigating this problem ever since you posted the bug, It would seem the stock kernel is meant for the older phone, but this is an easy quick fix, Give me today to fix this and I will release an update today. Thank you again for your detailed bug report.

I'm a little bit new to kernel development, yet I have experience but I just cracked the book on linux kernels which is the same basis of Android kernels, I can't promise anything, but I can do my best. The multi-touch might not be that hard to work on, as for the "Deep Idle" I will be looking into this and all about it, I have been working on perfecting my ROM(s) before continuing and finishing my kernel development, but I have taken your input into consideration, I think having more then 2 points for multi-touch will be a great advantage, but lets see what I can do. I have no team, no help, and still learning in the process, there are so many things to learn and so little time. As for the "Time Without Signal" I have found this fix for that problem, I don't think my StockOV ROM has the fix yet, because I did port it from the Stock Optimus V ROM. So I will be adding that to StockOV.
Hmm, ok. Obijohn had fixed the TWS bug in the kernel itself; would be helpful to have his BB kernel source. Dunno where he got/how he did the patch though. Would be much better than using the app.
As for multitouch, I think it's just how the phone handles the proximity of the two points. Unsure myself, I am just a power user, but I don't think the phone is capable of more than two points.
I wish your ROMs well. I'll be lying in the bushes in wait to test.

I've been running Bumblebee 2.4 ever since release, and I've tried loads of other ROMS. They all are either too bloated, too slow, crash too often, or have features missing. I've been running 1.1 ever since release and I'm impressed. Works great - fast, and no problems. The new go-to ROM.

Just installed 2.2.2, so far so good. I installed the OC kernel but don't see any options under Settings to configure OC speed - do I need a particular app, or are the OC speeds not configurable?

You need an Overclocking app,
Search the market for
OverclockWidget, or CPU Tuner.
You can also use ROM Toolbox.
I don't add these apps because everyone uses different overclocking programs, I didn't want another app that takes up space.
Just for the convenience of the user,
Got it. Thanks for the quick reply.

Giving this a shot, let you know how it works out tomorrow afternoon
Looks great! Booted perfectly. Only issue I came upon so far is no Google apps or Google account sync in settings. Great work so far guys!
BTW I used Alpha 2
Keep in mind:
CM9 is the more stable of the two ROMs as it is purpose built for the Rugby. My AOKP ROM is a little buggy and is a modified W ROM.

Gotcha. Was not aware of that. Most recent one listed, I assume?

OK everything is working great afer a full day of use. Awesome! Only issues I have had:
-Facebook contacts won't sync
-I use Smart Keyboard Pro for my keyboard and the gestures are not being recognized (swipe up to change keyboard layout, down to close, etc)
-Occasionally upon waking I am unable to swipe between home screens. After swiping repeatedly and opening and closing the app drawers and notification bar the srceen frees up. (I am using ADW launcher)
Besides the Facebook contact thing, the other issues seem to be ralated to the touch screen. It works fine, but it does feel slightly less responsive than stock.
Love having ICS on this phone! Great work and look forward future developments
Solid error report ESPFreak , thanks. I don't believe it's a touchscreen problem however, at least at a kernel level. Gestures work on my ported ROM and I'm currently using Kemo's kernel. (it's actually how I launch the dialer). That's not saying that there's not a bug higher up in the system however.

Can you install a CPU meter like OS Monitor and set it up to run in your status bar / notification drawer and see if you are getting CPU spikes when the touchscreen goes somewhat unresponsive? Motorhead and I have noticed some CPU spikes popping up after the screen is off for a period of time.
I have also noticed a few when my exchange / imap clients kick off sync's in the background causing the touchscreen to get a little flaky.

It could be an interplay on the kernel side. There was a lot of grief with the touchscreen and LCD drivers in the ICS kernel. I'm hesitant to rule it out just yet. Lets see what the CPU meter shows.
Its good nuff for daily use for me, no complaints here

Installed OS monitor. I'll report back after some use. I found this thread about the facebook sync issue. Apparently it's common with cm9. I flashed one file and it did activate the sync option within the app but didn't actually do anything with the contacts. Maybe because it's a different build? Not sure but here's the link.

This looks like something very very specific that I am not inclined to include in the vanilla CM9 builds. Motorhead think you might be able to work some magic in the AOKP stuff once it is further along?

Miui
v5
First Unofficial Beta Release of Miui v5 for the Verizon HTC One.
This was made using the Miui patchrom method, with Aosp/CM source code.
This first release, includes my Aosp Motion Gesture based nuk3rn3l.
I have also included WSM Tools, which is the miui based Xposed equivalent.
Along with the Wake Gesture Module.
Features:

Live icons:Email, Weather, Data Usage and Calendar icons push information to the launcher. Check the current weather, number of pending emails, and remaining data on yourcarrier plan without clicking into any application.
Beautiful weather icons: Different icon graphics for different weather conditions.
MiSpace added features: Launched 6 months ago, MiSpace breaks free from the traditional grid layout. Now, it continues to break these boundaries by adding in new features. Allocate icons where you want in the ‘space’ and assign and place additional icons where needed. Even add third party widgets in to your ‘space’. MiSpace is unique to MIUI, unlike any other ROMs out there.
Messaging now comes with a slew of new functions: Users can utilize functions such as timed messaging and pin message conversations to ensure they remain on top.
Find and call your contacts quicker: New tabs and format in the Phone and Contacts application allow users to quickly find and dial contacts.
Clock, Calendar and Compass Refreshed look: Revamped images and modifications provide a totally new experience.
[*]Camera application now comes with simple or professional mode: Users have the choice of a hassle-free, simple point-and-shoot mode or professional mode with more new features that ensures you capture captivating pictures.
Music apps more visually appealing: MIUI ensures its ROM continues to be visually appealing even when listening to music. ‘Now playing’ feature displays album cover in full screen.
Weather now comes with weather trends: Now users can see the weather forecast’s high and low trends for the next 5 days.
Mi Wallpaper: Launching a new category in the wall paper section, MIUI users will soon see more creative live wallpapers to download and enjoy.
The best MIUI ROM developed so far, MIUI V5 helps user fully utilize the Android based phone and ultimately, redefine Android. MIUI will continue to bring weekly updates to the ROM to fix bugs and improvements. Note, as this is a beta version it may be still a bit buggy.
Known Issues:
GPS:
You must first get a lock on a Sense based rom before flashing, to gain a lock in Miui.
Mms:
The miui message app will not send/receive Mms.
Use the included Vzw Messaging for Mms functionality.
Network/4G:
You will need to switch to Global mode or Cdma/Evdo/LTE mode in network settings after each reboot for 4G.
As it defaults to CDMA(3G/1x) upon reboot.

I'd say it's about on par with Liquid as far as battery goes.
It's tough to say for sure though, as I haven't ran one build long enough to really get a good gauge on that yet.
As I kept rebuilding about once a day while working on it.
I should have a better idea in a couple of days and will always be looking to improve on it, if possible.
Thank you very very much for your contribution!
It's greatly appreciated. :good:

As with many ROMs these days, it's taking a very long time to flash. TWRP 2.8.0.2, system reset only for wipe. Is that expected?
Looking forward to seeing MIUI again... haven't seen it since the Thunderbolt. :victory:

I honestly had that issue with the latest twrp.
I am back on 2.7.x.x I forget exactly which.
I think the last 2.7.x.x from mdmower.
It's way faster and I have no issues with it at all.
This rom flashes really fast actually.
(just checked, it's his 2.7.1.2 actually.)

My word, I saw quite the contrary. Not even a full minute to install (using openrecovery-twrp-2.8.0.1-m7wlv).

It finally completed flashing. Took a good 15 minutes or more. Maybe I'll roll back to MDMower's last 2.7.x.x.

WOW !! 0__0
What is up with that?
Yeah it flashed in less then a minute for me as well.
Maybe I need to make us a new twrp build compiled with a much better kernel.

I'm pleased with myself for not getting impatient and pulling the plug on it. Now I'm trying to remember how the MIUI UI (that's sort of like saying E I E I O) works.
For instance, I forgot to tell Play Store not to put app icons on the home pages. If I drag the app icon up to the trash, it wants to uninstall the app. I just want to get rid of the icon. How do you do that?
You don't get rid of icons on the home screen with miui since there is no app drawer. There used to be ways to bring it back though but it isn't a legit app drawer. I find this to be a huge hindrance with the miui os.
Been waiting a long time for this ROM.
Thank you so much! Noted issues are pretty minor and aren't that big of an issue.
Will give it a test run for the next few days and see how it goes.

You would have to use a thrid party app like this one: LINK
Or a completely different launcher.
Hope that helps.
Like Disconnecktie said, Miui doesn't have an app drawer.
There is also an app for that if you wanted to add one: LINK
Thanks again for this Santod you do good work

If You want bleeding Edge Builds alias Nightlies, just watch the Video for Beginners, or for the more advanced Users:
Decompress the Master Branch ZIP, Compress the Files inside the "gapps" folder to a ZIP and keep the Configs Folder where it is.
Go back to the Directory which contains META-INF and the other Files and compress the META-INF Folder to a ZIP.
The ZIP should include the META-INF Folder as Root Directory. If this is the Case can the ZIP be flashed!

Possible that it's unsupported since it's unofficial. Do You waited some time? Format Data could also help after installing ROM and GApps and before installing Magisk and the Module. Havoc works just fine here... Would be nice to hear again from You!
Best Regards,
Miu
When a update comes out, only is a dirty flash? no need to make wipes?

Correct, another benefit over my last Patches. The next Update requires a deinstall with the actual Zip since I'm still translating from My last Patch and some rests are actually present in the actual Patch like the Module Prop which says FFUHD 8.0 (Last Patch before XASP). But after that can You just update without trouble!
I'm btw. the Maintainer for the Mix 2 besides doing the main Patch. If You face any Issues feel free to call Me on this Thread. I have also a Hangouts Group since some Years which will be soon added to the Patch, Threads, GitHub and the Website. It's easy to reach over the Web (Gmail or Hangouts Websites) or the App which will be also included next (As Support App since most People are using a Google Acc.).
Best Regards,
Miu

In simple words... It does configure and optimize what the Most OEMs and AOSP ROMs don't do. They only Care about the UI and useless Gimmicks while XASP goes under the Hood. Better Audio Quality (In and Output), 4K Resolution Playback, HDR Playback Support, Battery calibration, Rendering optimizations (ui and Apps), responsiveness in all conditions (Apps Speeds, Multitasking), UI function unlocks (Display Rotation, Serial Number visible in Settings etc.). The list is endless. You need to expierence it before You think i'm talking BS
So we cant use this on stock MIUI 10?

You can, but it's made for Android 9 and we are running 8.0.0 not even 8.1. So Problems may happen and i can't solve them without breaking the Android 9 Support...

So MIUI 10 is based on 8.0.0 ,there shouldnt be any problems?
I flashed this on POSP (9.0) and it booted. I did remove the many APKs from the zip, but it still seemed to work. It might have been placebo but it did seem a tad smoother.
MintyB said:
But it's also broken charging. Fast charging is broken. I left it on charge for 30 minutes and it charged -1%. It seems to be limited to 100-120mAh according to Ampere. Setting Magisk to Core Only mode also doesn't fix this, so I've had to revert to a backup as removing via magisk + core only mode were still limited to the low charge level. If this is a systemless mod, why has it affected my system after disabling it ?

So ignore the above, it was just a coincidence at after flashing the mod, my charger/cable decided that it was going to report as 100mAh max. Nothing to do with the mod, so I'll do some further testing

I can really recommend You UGreen Cables and Chargers. I bought some for My GF with QuickCharge and USB 3 and they are really durable, have great quality and they are cheap. I ordered directly from the Seller and got My Stuff pretty fast from China. I think they are even beyond the most Premium flagship Chargers and Cables...
But OT, thanks for Your Feedback. Can't wait for more! And You are maybe willed to check out GitHub to get Nighlies!? I changed a lot of stuff since i have My Mix 2 (Almost a Week or so) and till the next Monthly Release will be added a lot that's maybe worth a flash...
Bluetooth Audio and GMail Sync is still broken but i cleaned out some stuff and added a lot already. The Issues will be fixed till the Weekend (Hopefully).

Ah !!! Please don't take it wrong !! i'm really new to this stuff as i'm one of those who developed (i.e i did it two years ago) custom roms for devices.
Btw , what you said sounds really interesting !! I would love to assist you in this project. But, as i mentioned, i left it all two years ago, and need some guidance to restart the whole process. What do you think about it ?? ( it won't take much time to get back on track ).

I'll have a look at those chargers, I think I must have just knocked the cable/charger, it's a bit weird.
I flashed the github release yesterday since that was the most visible (I honestly couldn't find any other release, I've only just now been able to find it) and I haven't noticed any issues with GMail sync or the like. Battery usage seems a little lower than pre-flash, but that's not totally unusual.
Looking forward to see what other changes you make, keep up the good work :good:

It's all fine, i know that Questions already
I'm looking for since Years for someone who helps Me with AOSP (Making a own ROM based on AOSP (Actually a CAF GSI with own Vendors)) since People aren't taking My Work serious at all. I want to make a lot of Things different like with My Patches. If You're willed to help Me to realize My Visions feel free to PM Me!

Dangerous stuff!
Glad it works well for You. I'm actually uploading a experimental Set which breaks a lot of stuff but also adds a ton of things. Feel free to test it, it's always good to get feedback from other Devices/Systems. :highfive:
Doesn't work with RR. Somebody mentioned that it didn't work on AEX either. So maybe it's something specific to AndyYan' s build since he's the only one building these specific ROMs for Chiron. Or maybe what trees his builds are based on. But I have absolutely no clue about it. Maybe worth a look for ya...
