[MOD]*New Options*>>Re-map Faves or Personalize button to any app<< - myTouch 4G Android Development

*NEW OPTION*
You can now use your Faves/Personlize button to open any app you want.
Using a great app made by appelflap here on XDA called LaunchKey along with this button mod you are now able to open apps or use some system functions at the touch of a button. There are 2 versions of this app available. The lite version that is free to XDA members and included in this mod and the paid version that is on the market for $0.64. If you like this app I would highly suggest buying it or donating to the dev to show your support. Read below for the installation instructions and to see how this great app works.
Please hit my "THANKS" button if you like this mod
Re-Map your "FAVES" button to another function such as Gmail, MMS, Browser or other apps. This proved to be a little harder to figure out than it had been in the past, but it was finaly able to get done. It seems that T-mobile really integrated MyFaves into HTC's framework, more than they had in the past on other devices. That in turn made it a little tougher to figure it out.
Much thanks to the1wingedangel for all his help and also thanks to all the people here at Xda that have contributed to the development of Android and help all of us to customize our phones how we see fit!
If you still want to use the Faves, you can. You will just need to access all your Faves contacts through a widget/contacts/dialer ect...
These mods will work on any stock Glacier/MT4G rom's or any built from stock "MySense" such as Ice Glacier. Just speak up in the thread and I will see what I can do to help out with any requests or problems....
This Mod available for Gr8Gorilla's DHD port and Evils 4GHD and 4G-Z roms.
See post # 2
As always please remember that you are flashing these mods at your own risk and I am not responsable for any damage that might happen to your phone.
Installation Instructions
1. Your phone must be rooted.
2. Download the appropriate file for the mod you want from below
and place it on your SD card like you would if you were flashing a rom.
3. Using Rom Manager (free in market) choose "Install Rom from SD card"
4. Scroll down to the mod you downloaded and install it.
5. Enjoy!!
(These mods can be installed through recovery also.)
A WIPE IS NOT REQUIRED BEFORE FLASHING THE FAVES/PERSONALIZE MOD
Launchkey App Use Instructions
After choosing and installing the correct file from the links below (Faves/Personalize to Anything) for the Rom you are running, go into your app drawer and open Launchkey. From there you can set it to open a single app or perform a system function like toggle wifi or bluetooth. Or you can have it open a menu with up to 8 of your favorite apps. You can do that by picking the custom menu setting and hitting the menu button to set up your menu apps.

Genius Button Mod
This is the same mod that is found in this thread. It will make your Genius button open text search on initial press and on long press be able to open Voice search. I have also included the free app from the market called Button Shortcut. You can use Button Shortcut to open any other app using the Genius/Search button long press as shown in this thread. I have put this in a easy zip format. Just flash it using recovery or Rom Manager. This should work for any MT4G/Glacier rom.

Yes it is for stock , follow the instructions in the OP depending on your rom. You might be having trouble downloading it because your trying with your phone. I will post mirrors for the links tonight.

Can you please also add another one with the Faves button? just in case we install something and want to revert back...
Another usefull one will be for the "Mail" app - the one used for exchange mail.
Thanks.

Your da MAN!!! That stupid FAVs icon was the 2nd of 2 things that I dont like about this ROM. The first being the genious button vs search (solved a while ago) and now this. Thanks!!!

PER-APP-COLOR, Paranoidandroids newest invention. Define apps in your regular hybrid panel (same that allows you to scale apps individually and choose their interface). See your phone fade into the color definition of your current app, press home or go elsewhere and it fades back. Create as many combinations you like, you can even dabble with opacity. This feature is made possible by our hybrid engine, which is unique to this rom.

To be honest, this is not tablet mode at all! This is the first and only Android rom to feature true Hybrid mode.
This project will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the feel of it.

Chose your statusbar style, regular PhoneUI, Nexus7-PhabletUI or a combined TabletUI systembar. Choose from a variety of toggles and toggle layouts, switches, holo-buttons, toggles or icon-text-toggle rows.
Get a ton of features on top of Cyanogenmod’s catalogue. Dabble with opacity, see-through options, eventualy colors, etc.

Hybrid mode is the heart and soul of paranoidandroid. Forget tablet mode or build.prop changes! Hybrid mode will not break your phone, your apps, your market, nothing will shrink or become unusable. Entire parts of AOSP have been rewritten to make this possible, you will not get anything like it anywhere, this is the only rom on Android capable of these things.
Hybrid mode means you can control the size and the actual layout of any app individually. Keep in mind, apps bring their own layouts, they will display according to your device. That’s why apps like gmail, settings, youtube, camera, chrome, etc., transform completely when you run them on a tablet. This rom allows you to choose whatever layout you like best, we don’t fool around with DPI, we extract the actual layouts from your apk’s and you select them with a tap. Apply and you’re done. No reboot necessary. You can target anything: apps, system components, widgets, launchers, keyboards, statusbars, lockscreen, etc.
Finetune your workspace or apply hybrid settings to all your apps if you don’t like to set them up individually. Individual settings will still override this so you can still get the look you want.
For ease of use you can access hybrid properties in your recents view, this will allow you to quickly review changes. Basic things like recents, toggles, etc. have been made usable across all UI modes.
Make sure you have a stable recovery installed, i recommend TWRP, if you must, CWM
Let it make a full backup, should anything happen you'll be safe

If you have an issue and you want to call our attention, here's what you do:
1. Try everything you can, find solutions for yourself. Wipe caches, revert all your settings you have made, go back to your stock Kernel, factory reset if you have to or reflash the rom. Assume that the issue is on your side and try your best to isolate it.
2. Search this thread and Cyanogenmods aswell (its our base) for possible reoccurences of your issue and hopefully solutions that may have come up.
3. If you think the issue is important enough that we should cease our work and look into it, post your issue, BUT ...
... stay friendly, do not demand anything, do not threaten
... explain your issue as precise as you can, name the exact apps and conditions that cause trouble, help us to replicate the issue right away. If we can't there's no way we can fix it and your post will simply clutter the thread
... collect evidence, keep in mind this is a developer thread so even if you are not one, do us the favor and research how to record logcat. logcat is the single most important help you can give us to resolve your issue.

No! You are not porting ****. Just because the base has changed from ICS to JB it gives you the right to do things? Paranoid Android is my project for one v and I'm not going to let a guy like you to steal my work! I never stepped into your project even when lloir said that I should do miui on jb because he said it will never give you permissions to do it but I never did it because it was your job. I don't understand why you want to cry on a CDMA thread. Stop acting like a god damn kid and wait for the rom to be done for the GSM side. It is not enough we polluted rukin's thread with GSM stuff, you want to be a whining kid and complain about it? Go ahead, I say I'll do it, when I'll be free. Right now I'm on holidays at my parents so it will be done when I come back home which should be in 1 or 2 weeks.
When I'll do the rom, you will see it in the development thread! Right now, stop whining on rukin's thread and use roms that are already available for GSM.
Cheers,
1ceb0x

Android 4.2 Camera:
Here is my latest flashable zip.
It contains all the files provided by dmmarck.
GalleryGoogle.apk [The actual Camera and Gallery]
GmsCore.apk [Sphereview]
libjni_filtershow_filters.so [PhotoEditing in Gallery]
libjni_mosaic.so [Panorama Photo]
linlightcycle.so [Photosphere]
The GalleryGoogle.apk is the modded one from androidpolice.
That make the working/not working list look like this:
1. Panorama.
2. Photosphere. (requires gyroscope?)
3. Photo editing.
4. Sphereview.
5. All ordinary camera/video functions.
6. Should work on ALL phones.
For gallery to not FC when rendering Sphere shots, change your system language to English (United States).
This will also make Sphereview work!

This contains the following files:
LatinImeGoogle.apk [The actual keyboard app]
libjni_latinimegoogle.so [I'm not sure what this does ]
Flash this zip in CWM and it should work.
To uninstall this you'll have to manually delete the files mentioned above.

Download and Install
Now, getting it on your device is going to be easy for some of you, and less easy for others. You'll need to be on Android 4.0+, to start.
If you're on a phone with a UI overlay that has the stock keyboard disabled (eg, Samsung TouchWiz, HTC Sense, Sony), you can just download the apk below- no root required. To install, make sure you have "install from unknown sources" enabled in your phone settings, and after installation, go into your phone's keyboard settings and enable "Android keyboard." Then, you can switch to the new keyboard. This may also work on some "stock" Android custom ROMs - but it will not work on stock Android builds distributed by Google. For instructions for Nexus devices running stock software, see the next paragraph.
Get the apk here: http://d-h.st/XuS
If the apk doesn't work, you're running a phone that is either A.) running stock Android (as in, AOSP), or B.) running software that has the stock Android keyboard as an option, you'll need to download this ZIP file, and flash it in recovery. That also means you're going to need root. as you'll be writing to /system/apps. Before you do, though, either back up the stock keyboard (if you don't know how, you probably shouldn't be doing this) or create a full image backup, just in case. Here's that ZIP file:

Keyboard is great but it's missing one key feature: If it misspells a word and you go back on to that word by tapping it with your finger, it doesn't offer an auto-correction like Swype Beta does. You have to delete the word manually and retype it.
Back to Swype for now.
But thanks for posting it OP, I'm going to give it a few days and see if I learn to like it. it's otherwise as good or better than Swype.

I'll give that a shot, in the meantime can you look in /system/lib/ and see if you have either one of these present?
Liblightcycle.so
Libjni_mosaic.so
Edit: did the rename, still get an immediate force close when choosing Photosphere. The camera is nice enough to use without it being fully functional though. I'll keep it until the bugs are worked out.

If you find something else that works with our phone, let me know too.
Lastly, this application package uses virtually NONE of the system space for the installation. If you have any of these apps preinstalled, I recommend you uninstall first.

OP has been updated, thread renamed and update posted.
The entire apps package has quite a bit installed and is nearly 600 mb in size. The files are uploading now and I will post an update when it is ready. Cheers - TD
Note: This package does not use ANY system or preload partition space. In fact, I gained back nearly 20 mb from the system partition after install.

first got to give thanks to THEDEVIOUS1 as he brought multiwindow to the note. from there i used his files to port his work to our phones. as far as smart stay thats all me..
now this zip will be for the jmt8 only. one of my files had to be rewworked to be compatable with jmt8 so i dont recommend flashing it on other uvmc6 roms.

smart stay needs a good amount of light to work. our cams are just not as good in low light as some of the newer ones. also this can only be enabled via notification bar.
multiwindow was fully unlocked working with all apps but jedi rom broke it so im still working on that......

i may be mistaken but technically this should work on any version firmware as long as its 4.1.2 touchwiz based but to answer your real question there are 2 ways to enable more apps...the easiest of which would be to download the free version of "samsung multiwindow manager" from the play store (do NOT apply the patch when asked to do so...it will still work fine) or for those of u familiar with xposed there is a module called "Xposed Multi Window Apps Manager" which works as well. If u guys encounter any force closes with stock samsung apps then they MAY need to be replaced with copies from other multiwindow compatible devices...files from the original device (the N7000 in the case) SHOULD work
Flashed this on a stock 4.1.2 touchwiz. Doesn't seem to work properly, Can't get the apps to split. They just overtake each other and show full screen.

first...u MUST reboot every time u add an app to the list. Second...there are 2 different versions of the app on the play store. This will sound backwards but u want the older "note 10.1" version NOT the newer "phone" version. Third...the apps will NOT automatically appear in the flashbar so u will need to press the edit button located at the bottom of the flashbar and drag the newly added apps over to the list with the rest. The only reason the module wouldnt work is if u forgot to activate it in xposed by putting a check next to it....the reboot and edit rules above apply to the module as well

[THEME] DARK Candy V1.0 aroma| SemiBlkOut | GPE/CM/AOSP | UPDATED 1.14.2014

This is a Aroma Installer Zip that Ive put together. It will Black out various aspects of Ui and apks.
It also includes a few pieces of Candy.Pictures at the bottom of OP.
Ive decided to rebase Theme installation to Aroma for more customization options and Multi base support[GPE| CM | AOSP] ALL in ONE zip.
SUPPORTED BASES/ROMS
- Google Play Edition Base [HTC ONE...etc]
- Stock Google Base | Rom uses Google Apks not AOSP/CM [ N5...etc ]
- CM Base | AOSP
CM Disclaimer
This part of the theme needs to install GoogleDialer.apk via PA module found here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44417509
If you have issues with Dialer after install please refer to thread first to see if issue can be resolved. I just packaged needed apks for dialer to work on STOCK CM 11 not CM variants... But it still should work if its a CM base. You ALSO get Google CallerID... enable it in phone settings. RESULTS MAY VARY IF IT IS NOT A STOCK CM 11. You can also try to preinstall PA Dialer mod make sure it works then flash the theme. I've tested it myself multiple times running Stock CM 11 and works perfect.
Included in Zip
- Initial release DARK Candy V1.0 aroma
- DEODEXED Rom Support
- ODEXED Rom Support
- CM 11 [cyanogen mod] | AOSP Support
- MINIMAL Version for ANY Rom Google or CM | AOSP Base
[ONLY Blacks Out Backgrounds and PopUps NO apk Inversion]
- Blked Out framework and SysUI [Jus Imgs.. It is NOT replacing Apks]
- Blked Out DeskClock.apk
- Blk Chrome Scrubbers
- Inverted LockscreenTargets
- REMOVED UGLY ORANGE ON QUICK TILES WiFi and Signal
- Inverted MMS apk base @rdgate

- Inverted Contacts apk
- Inverted Blk Calculator
- Blk Toast Pop up
- new Clear All icon
- Custom LockRing Options
Much more to come...
- Custom Glow Dots Options
- Much more to come ...
BUGS
- It is probaly NOT ART compatible
Return to Dalvik and theme will be fine. ART is OK if you choose MINIMAL. Since there is no apk swap.
- If you flash Cm version do Not flash this after clean install... Set up device then flash Theme.
- Contact.apk will FC when adding info to birthday field... Working on fix.
Work Around
- Add Birthday fields before flashing theme...sync Google contacts then flash theme.
- Add Bday on other device (tablet..etc) sync contacts...Info will show in themed app.
- Added goto Google.contacts.com and edit Bday then sync conatacts
That's it...

OK got it. The problem was I was moving from Sense to GE, so I wiped Data then installed the GE ROM with the theme.
Solution: Wipe data and system, re- install ROM and extras --__WITHOUT THEME--__, reboot to system, complete the set up wizard, then AFTER your apps and stuff are set up, you can install the theme.
Boom.

Figured I would come over here and show some support. Also give a big thank you to op. We really need some more themers getting involved like this. As a quick note you do not have to be de-odexed. That's one of those old myths that people can't seem to shake. Themes even when they contain apps with a classes .dex will not have any effect on the odex file at all. If you are not making smali adjustments you can simply delete the classes.dex from the apk. If you are making smali adjustments you can simply leave the classes.dex and add a delete line to your updater to delete the apps odex. Also.... I can teach you how to odex single files if you want to get real proper. I only get into this because I prefer my ROMs be odexed..... The gpe will be odexed in the very near future.
