[VIDEO TUTORIAL]Multiple Video Tutorials on How To Install Android to NAND on the HD2 - HD2 Android NAND Development

Please vote for this thread to be featured on the front page by clicking the "Vote To Front Page" button above this post!
Here is a video tutorial I put together in great quality on how to install the new android NAND ROM with full description. Please share this as well, there are no good tutorials on it yet and I spend a lot of time putting this together.
Please help spread the word about this video and help it get pinned if possible! This new Android ROM is huge and there are no good video tutorials on it yet. I put hours into this tutorial and it will help a lot of people get a better understanding!
IMPORTANT!! Please use this Video Tutorial ALONG with the written guide *HERE* as following just the Video Tutorial may lead you to miss parts of the process that could cause problems later.
If you are having any problems installing MAGLDR or the NAND ROM the fixes for them can be found by clicking here!
MOD EDIT:: Embedded YouTube video fixed!!
Click here to download MAGLDR version 1.11
Click here to download Android NAND ROM
If you want to get back to windows mobile hold down the power and volume bottom. You will see the colors screen. Then you can enter back into windows mobile, by putting a windows rom on your phone.
I will be updating information about battery life as well
I took the phone off the charger this mourning at 8:30 AM (PST) it is now 11:00 AM and I still have a full battery gauge.
It has now been 7 hours and I still have 75% battery life, I think its putting out a lot better then the SD version.
After a total of 18 hours and 47 minutes my phone finally died and lost all battery power, it had a good first run, I used it frequently also, I like the battery power!

For any of those wondering, to check the HardSPL, it displays in the bottom corner when you boot your phone, I have been getting that question a lot and just want to let you guys know!

Correction, the hspl (or even spl version) DOESN"T show when you boot your phone. The only way to see it is to boot into bootloader mode.

Thank you for the PM's everybody! Keep them coming!

Am sorry, but can you make another tutorial or even some steps about flashing back to WinMo, in case someone messed thing up?

You do it the same exact way you flash the android ROM, you need to hold the power button to enter MAGLDR and then go into the "USB Flasher" once you have done that you can download any WinMo rom and install it back on your phone! Nothing to it.

You really have a lot of reading to do. So much that we cannot post it all here. It has taken an entire forum for all of the information. You need to start here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Hermes
Get familiar with what you can do. First thing you are going to want to do is update the boot loader so you don't brick your device. Read here for more information:

Do not "just install" ... ideally read the wiki first, and then follow instructions on Mrvanx's Guide. Upgrading is pretty painless and easy ... and the guide should keep you on track.
A ha ,i knew there would be more to it than that, not sure what a wiki is lol but looks like im gonna find out.
If someone could just give me a list of things to do before hand ill do the appropriate reading
i.e 1 upgrade the boot loader etc etc ,please dont go into detail a mere shopping list will do.
,thanks for the links by the way.
Best wishes tony

Here is the list you wanted:
Read the wiki
Read the installation guides.
Read the threads concerning the threads on available roms.
Understand what you have read.
Flash your phone.
Here you go... step by step list of everything you need to do to upgrade to the Black 3.0:

My subjective pick is Black 3.01 ...
Remember to go "Hard SPL" first, and that you need to upgrade your radio seperately.
Right just updated the Hard splv7 and my radio to 1.41.00.10,ive also flashed with black 3.0. Now i cant seem to get a wireless link to work or turn on my bluetooth?
Also does this mean i can flash any cooked rom?
Many thanks Tony
Update: it just needed a reboot and all was well.
Getting back to the above question-can i flash with any coocked rom now?
Thanks for all your help.Tony

generally speaking, yes.... but be sure you are flashing OS only (unless you want to upgrade your radio too). Most folks are putting out OS only upgrades now, but some replace the radio. once you are hard spl and no longer a flashing virgin, it becomes second nature.
Thanks for everyones help, all sorted, nice one!
Wow what a refreshing read. A noob explaining himself and asking clear questions and members helping him out in an open and non-judgemental way...

Kudos go to MrVanx for those incredible guides.
Yep superb guides and a very noob friendly thread, thanks again peeps.Flashed to a couple of different roms today to check them out.

You cannot go to bootloader mode? Howcome? Why can't you do it? Have yu read the link i posted befre to see how you should do it? This is very simple... Just press OK+POWER and while pressing it stick the stylus on the soft reset hole and then release the buttons... Intead of choosing the SD Card flash you sould try the other process first... If you can flash normally why use another method...?
Well, that's up o you. Both methods are functional
Cheers.

Kevlar-Source, whats wrong with using the sd card method? Its a helluva lot safer than flashing via pc. No chance of jail sentence because a "cleanaholic" accidently pressed the reset button while wiping over the front of your wire mesh fronted screnn with a wet soapy clothe because, and I quote, "It looked dirty". Justifiable homicide if you ask me.....
Oh well at least the power didn't go o

It sounds like you have a CDMA TP2. I would sugest that you read the forums at PPC they focus more on CDMA roms.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/cdma-tp-development/
Now I would sugest the Energy rom myself. Lots of people like it. I am running an android rom, but I would sugest you get the hand of WM first. You can run the android rom from and SD card, but if you want to load it from internal nand memory it is much more complicated.
+1 Wizardknight. I would check out these two threads for two excellent Roms:

Sharkie405 Rom

That is because you are trying to flash a Rom not intended for your device.

Nexus has become sluggish after recent update (how should I restore or root?)

I'm trying to fix my cousin's galaxy nexus that was bought new a few months ago. It's jus that after the recent system update, his whole phone has become sluggish, and it doesn't feel right. I must admit that I've never owned an Android device (neither has he) so we both really don't know how to fix it or restore the phone. I looked in the development section but its just so overwhelming, not sure what I should be looking for or trying out..
Can someone please point this beginner in the right direction? I read that the latest update was causing problems and people installed the "stock version" on their phones, which made it better, but I don't know I how I would go about doing that.
I'd appreciate some feedback thanks!
Android version: 4.2.1
Do you need the baseband, kernel version, build number?
This isn't a support site so you're going to need some self reliance.
This is a good starting point.

I know this is not a support site but this is the section to ask for help, isn't it? I read through that sticky but it doesn't necessarily explain how I would go about restoring me phone to install a stock copy of the latest Android..I really don't want to mess up this phone so that is why I want to confirm everything before I try to load something onto it.
If you scroll to the 2nd post in that thread there's a link to a guide to return to stock as well as a guide to root.

Sure it is.
The NooB backlash is coming from users who have walked in the development shoes and is directed mainly at those who don't care for the journey but just want the end result or destination.

Let me be very clear on this: IF YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT UNDERSTANDING THE JOURNEY THEN YOU PROBABLY SHOULDN'T BE HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Best way to make it quick is to earse everything like I did after owning my Nexus for 1 yr. Back up everything that needs backing up on a computer.
But the New 4.2 update is pretty heavy and causes lag. Also having low storage space can cause it to slow down too I think.
Here's what I recommend. Root it. Have u done that yet? If not I'll help. It's REALLY easy. Only four commands(I believe) and a driver for adb and fastboot and the SUfile and the recovery.img.
This will EARSE everything. So you'll be fresh. And then put ur freshly backed up stuff back on the phone.

If I have helped you.... hit that sexy thanks button. ^_^
