Issues with Wireless Tether - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have 2.2 with Kernel 2.6.32.25.-bcblend_CFS-stable
[email protected] #23 and having issues with Wireless Tether for root users. Everytime I open it up and attempt to tether wireless hotspot opens and then I get the error 67. It seems on every other rom it does not do this, it doesn't open up the stock hotspot feature. Is there a way to stop this from happening? It completely cuts my 3g off until I turn wireless tether off. I am using a stock rom that is rooted with Unrevoked forever w/ s off. I have tried everything from updating profile to updating PRL. Please someone help me.

Cm 7.2 wifi tethering error

When I try to use the wifi tethering app on my phone, the built in portable hotspots gives me an error. The device gives off the wifi but there is no internet to the connected devices.

Couple of questions and notes:
Which CM7.2 are you using?
Which Wifi Tethering app are you using?
What settings on the Wifi Tether app are you using?
Does the built in app work?
And it's normal for the built in hotspot to give an error if you using the a third party tether app. The app overrides the built in one.
I believe I fixed it. Does cm's built in tethering app work the same way as root tethering app where it does it without the carriers tethering plan?

[Q] Bluetooth turns on then off. stock/rooted/unrooted/cm10/cm11

Hi All,
I have had a few issues with my note 2 of late but these are now resolved. Basically everything is working fine and correct except bluetooth. I was running stock 4.3 and the bluetooth would note turn on, it flicks to on, then about a second later turns off.
I could get no where with this, so I rooted my device, this made no difference, then install CM10.2, again no difference, tried, CM11 also no difference.
So after alot of search there are a few forums explaining this issue but none with a real answer.
I decided I would run Terminal and enable bluetooth that way. But I got this as a reply. Can anyway please tell me what this means and what I then need to do.
It looks to be a permission issue from what I understand.
I ran this in terminal
su
am start -a android.bluetooth.adapter.action.REQUEST_ENABLE
Here is the response:

I want this popup to go away and never return. But I can't find the setting for it.

The pop-up indicates that the device is not in the range of the known WiFi or the WiFi connection is weak. This is called WiFi-ScanTrigger.so. The only way to disable this pop up is to edit the WiFi-ScanTrigger.so file from the /system and /data directories, making the value 1xxx93 from 1.xxxxx originally.
Prerequisites:
1) Rooted Device
2) Android Studio installed on your computer.
Well that's unfortunate. Thanks for the quick and detailed reply. So far I don't have any plans to root. I suppose I'll just have to live with it.

Annoying update message -- How do I get rid of it?

Hello all,
I have the T-Mobile LG-D851 and I'm currently running Android 4.4.2 stock which has been rooted. I've also followed a guide to modify the stock tethering so it appears as if it is only using my mobile data instead of tethering. I have TWRP recovery installed.
I do not want to upgrade to Lollipop because I do not want to have to repeat the above steps. How do I rid myself of the annoying System Update Message that is always popping up and stuck in my drop down menu?
Is it so hard to use the search button? What's wrong with you?
