Hello XDA.
Welcome to seeARMS' JL2-based custom ROM. The essential purpose of this ROM is to provide a fast, functional ROM for those who are wishing to run JL2. Basically every other custom ROM out there is a variant of JPY, and that's great, but what about those seeking a different base? I chose JL2 because frankly I wanted to stick to a firmware which my provider, Bell, has actually released, not an unofficial ROM created by Samsung.
This is a ROM which aims to be fast without sacrificing any necessary features or software, as well as similar to stock firmware but without all the bloatware Samsung has included. This ROM includes many tweaks and bug fixes which creates a high-performance phone with a long lasting battery.
It's also running the newest Bell firmware, UGJL2 (Froyo v2.2). This allows us Canadian users (which seem to get ignored quite often - no other JL2 custom ROMs!?) to have our precious 850MHz band back, while sticking with an officially released ROM base.
If you have any questions prior, while, or after installing this ROM, please read the first few posts, as I'll try to address every possible (major) problem which can occur. If, after reading the posts, you are still encountering a problem, please reply to this thread being as detailed as possible. This allows me to fix problems quickly and easily. Also, I encourage you to post your opinions and comments; it's a beta, and as such, I'll be improving the ROM in future releases.
Note: Please don't complain about Quadrant, Linpack, or any other pointless benchmark scores. If you've used the ROM and it's sluggish, by all means tell me, but don't base your opinion of the speed merely on a benchmark.

If you like this ROM and are interested in supporting me, then a simple "Thanks" would suffice. Also, please try to help out others on the XDA forums - we were all newbs once, and it's quite overwhelming, being introduced to everything Android.
Oh, and the mandatory, "like my work, buy me a beer" way of supporting would also be cool.

Installation Instructions
REQUIREMENTS
-NO lagfix enabled (Can typically be disabled by booting into recovery and selecting "Disable Lagfix")
-A Samsung Galaxy S i9000 (or its variants, i9000M, etc)
-Recovery 2e (that comes with 2.1) or Clockworkmod Recovery
If you're running recovery 3e, please read the first question in the FAQ
-If you wish, a backup is also very helpful in case anything goes wrong. This ROM does contain bugs (just like any ROM), so I really recommend backing up your data.
Please note: the "wipe" version of this rom will wipe all your data. It will not, however, format your internal or external SD cards. This means you'll lose apps and settings, but not music, movies, etc.
Lastly, I recommend performing a factory reset after installing any new rom (but I'm just paranoid like that).
NOTE: If you have a Bell i9000M, do the following to (hopefully) prevent your internal SD card from dying:
1. Upgrade to JL2 using either Kies (recommended) or Odin (make sure to check Bootloader Update).
2. After the upgrade, download and flash Super Optimized Kernel, which will give you access to ClockworkMod Recovery. Instructions to do so can be found in the FAQs (Q1).
(More information regarding the internal SD card dying can be found in Q2 in the FAQ)
To install this ROM:
1. Download and extract the file you downloaded above to the root of your internal SD card (both the "seearms" folder and the .ZIP ROM file).
If you would like to customize your install, continue doing step 2. If you would like a stock install with all the applications + SpeedMod kernel + JL2 modem + Generation X theme, skip to step 3 (however I'd recommend customizing your install. )
2a. Browse to the "seearms/kernel" folder on your SD card and delete whichever kernel you do not want to install.
2b. Do the same with the "seearms/modem" folder: delete whichever one you don't want to install (I'd recommend installing the JL2 modem unless you've specifically had problems with it).
2c. Do the same with the "seearms/applications" folder: delete whichever applications you do not use. You're allowed to delete all of them to create a slim install, or delete none to create a stock install.
2d. Browse to the "seearms/extra" folder on your SD card, and delete whichever extras you do not wish to install (You're able to choose the Generation X theme, blue Android Market, custom boot animations, etc). Most importantly, if you would like the ROM to wipe your data, leave "wipe" untouched. If you don't want it to format your data, delete "wipe".
2e. So, before going further, you should have the following folder structure on your SD card:
"seeARMS.UGJL2.v0.4.zip" - anywhere on your SD card, doesn't matter
"seearms/extra" - customized to your liking
"seearms/applications" - customized to your liking
And a single file in both of these folders, depending on the kernel and modem you wish to install:
"seearms/kernel"
"seearms/modem"
3. Boot into recovery, and select "Install zip from sdcard".
4. Select "Choose zip from sdcard", and scroll to the ROM.
5. Select OK, and wait for the file to flash.
6. Reboot. This reboot will take a while (upwards of 2-5 minutes), so be patient and don't shut off your phone!
Congratulations, you've successfully flashed!
After it boots, I'd recommend doing a few things in order to allow your phone to be as quick as possible:
1. Boot back into recovery, select "Advanced ULK Features". Choose "LAGFIX options", then "Enable Lagfix: Convert EXT4 Without Binds". This applies a lagfix, and converts the partitions into the faster EXT4 filesystem.
2. In recovery, go back to the Advanced ULK Features menu. Choose "TWEAK options", and enable the four tweaks. For more information about these tweaks, see HERE.
3. If you really want to squeeze the power out of your phone, with this kernel you're able to overclock it to upwards of 1.6GHz. (However, only about 1.2 is stable). Download the SetCPU app and increase the clock speed in order to overclock it.

If you're on stock Froyo (ie: not running Eclair with recovery 2e or ClockworkMod) then you might have to do a bit more work before installing any custom ROM. Just follow these steps:
1. Download Odin from here.
2. Download the latest Super Optimized kernel in the attachments. Make sure to download the Odin kernel, not the CWM one!
3. After downloading, extract the .TAR file from the file you just downloaded.
4. Open Odin, and turn off your phone. Connect your phone to your PC via USB, and enter download mode by holding volume down + home + power.
5. Odin should detect your phone. Load up the .TAR file in the "PDA" box in Odin. Make sure the other boxes are left blank. Untick "Repartition". Start flashing.
6. Your phone should automatically reboot with the new kernel! To double check, shut it off and boot into recovery. If you see CWM recovery, you're successful!
After doing this, follow the normal steps to install this rom.
Q2 - I have a Bell Galaxy S, and I'm afraid of my phone bricking! What can I do to prevent it?
Click to collapse
It isn't entirely known right now why the phones are bricking; some say it's a hardware issue involving the motherboard, whereas others say it's strictly a software issue. Both Samsung and Bell have stated that the new firmware, JL2, fixes this problem and will prevent the internal SD card from dying. However, there have still been reports of phones running the JL2 firmware and dying (albeit much, much less reports).
A bit more technical: Included in the stock JL2 firmware from Bell is a new secondary boot loader (Sbl.bin). This deals with the phone at boot-time; it handles three button recovery, etc. Typically, the Sbl isn't included in a new ROM, as nothing needs fixing and the boot loader doesn't need touching. Except for this time! The Sbl.bin is apparently the file which fixes the internal SD card problem.
So, if you're wondering what to do in order to prevent your phone from dying, your best bet would be to flash the JL2 firmware using Kies (or Odin if you know what you're doing - tick bootloader update), then you're basically free to flash any other firmware you wish (except for firmwares which contain the Sbl.bin, because that would overwrite the current Sbl. But, every custom ROM and essentially every stock ROM lacks this file, so you're fine to flash anything).
Again, I'm going to restate that not everything is known involving this problem and the above is based on my own research. A handful of people have done this and have still had their phones die.
Q3 - I'm encountering force-close issues, and general app issues right after installation.

If you installed the no-wipe version, try backing up your data and installing the wipe version. After doing so, boot into recovery, perform a factory reset, and clear the cache + Dalvik cache.
Q4 - What's this steam recovery and how do I access it?
Click to collapse
Steam recovery is a new, semi-functional multi-touch recovery created by sztupy. This recovery has all the features the standard CWM one has and more. Check his thread for more info.
Please note: Because (currently) the only Steam-compatible kernel is based on a much older base version (ie: not XXJPY), a small amount of features are incompatible, such as lagfix options, kernel options, etc. However, the majority of features (such as mounting, wiping, etc) are working just fine. I'm working on getting everything working; as soon as it is, it will fully replace CWM on this ROM.
To enable it, just boot into CWM and go to "Apply sdcard: update.zip". After doing this, it will boot into the new Steam recovery. You must do this every time you want to access it.
Q5 - My GPS isn't working! It takes forever to lock and displays my position inaccurately!

Try clearing the GPS data on your phone. Do the following: (Original poster unknown. Reposted by dpvu.)
1) Enter *#3214789650# into the dialpad.
2) Under "Application Settings" set the Start Mode to Coldstart.
3) At the main menu "Delete GPS Data".
4) At the main menu "Get Position Test".
If you're still not finding many satellites try setting Operation Mode to "MS Based" in the "Application Settings". I did all of this then set the GPS back to hot start.
Lastly, if you desperately want to fix your GPS, try flashing the JK4 modem. There have been different reports, but it has been regarded by some as the best modem for GPS. To flash it, download the modem, and use Odin to select the "modem.bin" file in the PHONE box. Go to Settings -> About on your phone after flashing and look at Baseband to ensure it flashed correctly.
Download the JK4 modem from the Downloads section. http://www.multiupload.com/3HOKWMBHO2
Q6 - My battery is running out very, very quickly!
Click to collapse
There are many, many things which may cause the battery to run out quickly. I'll go over a few of the problems here:
1. After a fresh install of a ROM, the battery may be uncalibrated. Try charging your phone, and use it normally until it discharges. Repeat this 2-3 more times; your battery meter should be accurate again.
2. Clearing your batterystats.bin has been said to help fix the problem, and improve battery life by a lot. Charge your phone to 100%, then boot to recovery and clear batterystats.bin (by selecting wipe battery stats). Reboot, and use your phone normally until it shuts off by itself. After it does, charge it up fully, and you're good to go.
However, it's worth stating a few things: the above method has been put down by some users, who state that the batterystats.bin only contains a history of the battery usage and nothing more. Also, the Galaxy S contains a Li-Ion battery, which technically shouldn't be fully discharged (in order to extend the life of the battery). Do the above at your own risk.
For a few more fixes, please visit this thread.
Q7 - What's all this talk about the 850MHz band and modems?
Click to collapse
The 850MHz band is a 3G band which apparently has better range and reliability (as opposed to the higher frequency 1900MHz band). It's basically only used in Canada (and I guess Australia?) but cell carriors like AT&T in the US are trying to make it the standard. Because of this, the i9000 International (not the Bell Galaxy S, i9000M) doesn't have the functionality to connect to the 850MHz band.
To get back this band, you have two options: flash any international ROM (JPY, JPX, JPO, etc), then flash a Canadian modem (JK4, JL2) afterwards. The second option is a lot easier: just install a ROM that contains a Canadian modem already (ie: this ROM, or stock JL2).
Q7 - I'm unable to back out of the Contacts application when I select it in the Launcher Pro dock.
Click to collapse
This is a known bug, but has a very easy fix: just long press on the Contact icon in the LP dock, and change the shortcut to the "Contacts" application.

After using seeARMS' rom for a few days now I can't believe how fast and smooth it is. Everything is like butter. No lag or hiccups anywhere. Even something as simple as typing on the keyboard is now instant with no delay when typing quickly.
Its now on par with the iPhone 4 as far as OS responsiveness. I hate iOS, but it always runs like butter. Well this phone does too now!
GPS is insanely fast now too. Wow. If I open Google Maps I get a lock of 10m in about 5 seconds. This is IN MY HOUSE!

a HUGE thanks to seeARMS.... my phone was crap out of the box, as in I couldn't access most of my settings menus. That included WiFi... kinda ridiculous don't you think?
After much frustration, and lots of research, I stumbled upon this brilliant ROM made from the JL2 I originally had. There were a few issues flashing (because Vista SUCKS and I'm used to a single user on W7) but my phone is FINALLY WORKING!!!
Thanks again seeARMS, great work.. the ROM looks slick and running smooth as can be.
On another note, my brother got a SGS about a week and a half after I got mine, and his was loaded from Nov. 2010 (mine Dec. 2010) and had the JK4 ROM, which I heard has issues. So, instead of taking the phone back and risking an older, even crappier version, I am glad I undertook the process of flashing and upgrading to a much better, home-brewed ROM.
Again... thanks...

Yeah, I'll upload one now. It takes quite a long time to upload a file though, so it should be ready in an hour or two.

Great job seearms!!!
Quick question for you though, I have the bell variant also but unlocked it and using it with Rogers ... I've never used these bell firmwares, jumped straight to xxjpy no problem. Can you tell me what you meant about Canadian users getting back their 850 band? Are you saying on xxjpy I don't have 850?? When I check in the dial codes it does say I am on 850 ... always have been too..
Can you elaborate please? Thanks in advance!!!

I believe the I9000 International phones do not support the 850 band HSPA (3G) network, so all their ROMs do not include this band. The Bell Galaxy S Vibrant, however, does support it, which is why Bell includes this band in their firmware.
To confirm that you don't have this band, type this into the Phone app: *#*#0011#*#*
Look at the third line down. It depends on your location, but it won't say 850MHz. In the Debug menu you're able to select it, but it won't actually work.
Flashing a Canadian (bell) modem, or a Bell firmware which includes the modem, gives back your 850MHz band.

You do know that Doc has JL2 modem on his kitchen right? 850 works perfectly. No need to base entire ROM off JL2. IMO JPY is better ROM to work from.

Yep, I know. My other custom ROM is actually based on XXJPY running a JL2 modem.
I've run both this ROM and the custom JPY ROM and I gotta say, I prefer this one. No battery drain, no problems.
Maybe it's because two of my phones have died (one running JPY) so I'm paranoid, but I'm sticking to JL2.
Also, Samsung has stated that JL2 supposedly fixes the internal SD card problems, and there have been much, much less reports of phones dieing running JL2.
Regardless, I'll be running this rom either way.

Yes I have heard the miracle stories of JL2 for failed sd cards. Luckily my dad and I have not suffered from that on our I9000M's. I guess I like the feeling of the better kernel with more RAM on JPY.

What kernel? This ROM is running harcore's SpeedMod. If you're running the same kernel, it'll be the same amount of RAM.

I agree with seeARMS, let's keep this a safe JL2 Version, it helps keep all the proper Canadian location and Bell settings and our internal SD from frying.
I have installed the ROM and restored all my data using ClockworkMod Recovery. WORKING GREAT! I did have to delete the "com.cooliris.media" folder found in Android/app/data/ as it was causing trouble but it gets recreated. I also had to reROOT using SuperOneClickv1.5.5-ShortFuse but that is normal after installing a new stock ROM.
Great Work!

I also had to reROOT using SuperOneClickv1.5.5-ShortFuse but that is normal after installing a new stock ROM.
Great Work!

Thanks.
Was there an error message involving that cooliris folder? I can easily add a few lines of code into the error checking shell script to delete that folder, I'm just curious as to why it was causing problems.
And, why'd you re-root it? This ROM is already rooted + contains Superuser and Busybox.

[Q] Kezra Value Pack V1.1 Samsung keypad and Restart-loop

Just flashed the latest (as I understand) ROM. Samsung keypad is back (in version V4 it was removed) but I can't use it.
Added languages via Settings -> Languages and keyboard -> Samsung keypad -> Input languages. Checked English, Russian, Latvian. When writting sms, I can switch between input languages, but letters don't change. So no matter what input language you choose, you can write english.
Another sad thing is restart-loop. When phone stays idle for some time, its restarts by itself and goes into restart-loop. Only thing is to flash ROM again.
Any ideas of fixes?
KP has quit ROM cooking, i've used this rom till a month ago, this rare bug is unsolvable now, for example i hadn't this one.
Try some more up-to-date roms, for example Mutant ROM, i use it for several weeks and enjoy it!
Other hand why are you so stuck with samsung keypad? why aren't you using swype for example? Mutant ROM + Swype serve me well for russian\english combo.
Everyone of us can thank KP for his work for SGW community, but his own roms are no more actual today, they've brought much power to modern SGW works.
you could use swiftkey 3.........its a really good keyboard
I've been using K. Rom VPack V1.1 (the one with O.C. kernel capabilities) for quite long (i'm still using it), it's a very very fast/smooth and battery efficient ROM. I underclock Cpu to 1.2 MHz and could use phone for 3-4 (or 5!) days without charging.
I had also same issues with keyboard and restart thing.
So,
1)The samsung keyboard issue has already been solved (check thread for Kezra VPack V1.1)
The problem was that T9DB folder was missing from Rom, so copy from stock ROM T9DB folder and put it in /system Kezra's Rom.
Dont forget to check permissions and restart phone.
2) Restart problem.. i suffer same thing (not any more). For possible solution see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1773098
Also (if not already) UPDATE your Baseband/Modem Version to XXLM6 at least! Just flashing Kezra's Rom won't update Baseband/Modem!
Good luck!
..
Looks like I've missed something... never updated Baseband/Modem, mine says XXKL3. Haven't noticed that baseband update is required.
Currently I followed dimaka's advice and moved to newer rom... Bagux Project ROM. It runs almost excellent. There are some glitches like Flashlight turns out after 5 seconds, etc, and I was about to start new topic on that, but now... maybe this all is about Baseband update.
Can someone point me to the right direction? I currently have XXKL3 region Europe/Latvia.

I updated Baseband to "i8150XXLM8". Took "Slovakia" from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1570726
So far everything is fine. What do you use to underclock Cpu?

You can use Antutu CPU Master along with Antutu Benchmark to rate your phone. They're both free on market.
Set it on 1.2 GHz and post results!
Ok, Antutu results with and without underclock. How are they?

I think most important is Ram and CPU where Kezra's Rom is a winner!!:victory: (you dont have ext.sdcard that's why sdcard results are zero).
Check out and long last battery screenshot (with very light usage though).

[ROM][29July2013] mROM v4.0 JSS15J - stock 4.3 + GAPPS, MOD(s), etc.

Here is a 4.3 ROM built from AOSP source designed to emulate what a Verizon 4.3 ROM would be like. The changes from AOSP include the addition of GAPPS, addition of Verizon apps, appropriate binaries so everything works, addition of busybox, correct eri.xml, home screen layout to mimic a stock ROM, and the removal of the tethering restriction. The ROM is not pre-rooted, so flash Chainfire's SuperSU if you want root.
As usual, flash at your own risk and post any successes or problems.

Some things are still added to this rom from 4.0.4 IMM76K Verizon ROM, but I did include the new binaries for toro. excellent. you're a regular johnny on the spot!
downloading now, hope its all good! i'm looking for a "stock jb" style rom of the newest update. ill post my outcome shortly. going to test the basics that are supposed to work.
Is a flash to the JB bootloader recommended? Finally, a build that seems to have all/most components working! No issues with the 4G's or the LTE's?? Lol.

Downloading now. Any thoughts on current JB kernel compatibility?
i wiped data, cache and dalvik cache 2x each, installed and installed trinity kernel on top and hit reboot. (i like trinity for the colors and such, and good battery life ).
first boot took a minute.
updating some apps and gonna test some things.

No sure what causes this, but I've never seen it with this build or the previous developer preview build. Did it happen on first boot before you installed anything else?

I'd recommend a full factory reset, but people can try what they feel comfortable with. Personally, I did a factory reset, wiped both caches, and then flashed the ROM (with TWRP).

Do you have any on your sdcard partition in the Ringtones folder? If not, I'd check \system\media\audio path (subfolders for ringtones, alarms, etc). Delete any duplicates you find in there. I don't have any duplicates and there aren't any in the rom.zip I uploaded.
just overwrote mms.apk in system/apps to get the custom pink mms, and got a quick reboot to my boot screen, this never happened on 4.1 roms that weren't source, don't know if this is normal because i replaced the app and it was a one time thing (i hope). as far as going to system/media/ringtones, i see them but there arent any doubles, however theres doubles when i go to select a ringtone from the menu, for everything system related, ringtones and notifications.
What issues have people had? Any boot issues?
I replaced the "stock" keypress ogg files from ics/jelly bean that sound better with this 4.1.1 release, the new key click sounds are horrible. works fine. i used to have t-cdma 64 with any build from 4.1.1 there is a fix that works that ill just apply. its a xml file or something.

[Custom Rom]KangVIP Rom-date (update 16.05.)closed

As always, use at your own risk!
Because my English is not very, I can only use Google to translate. I hope it's still understandable.
This is Rome for the MT7-L09 and the Asian MT7-L10, base is the Asian. Previous experience it only runs on and the MT7 - L09. KangVIP offers to Rome but also for other versions.
prerequisite:
The boot loader must be open and installed CWM. In addition, you should the B127 MT7-L09 Western Europe or the B122SP06 installed, otherwise it will get to the bootloop.
- B121-SP02A1
- B122SP06v1.1
- B122SP06v1.2
- B123SP03
(When you first start there must be a data connection, as King User (SuperSU) is updated. Otherwise, no root!)
- B125SP01(Does not work with Vodafone!)
(Here SuperSU.zip must be installed as King user (root) is no longer in it!)
Themespatch
- B125 V2(Does not work with Vodafone!)
420DPI Patch
- B125 V2.1(Does not work with Vodafone!)
420 DPI Patch
- B126SP03(Does not work with Vodafone!)
Quelle
installation:
- The best, but not a must, you use the KangVIP CWM.
- Download Rom and the Mate7. Whether internal or external SD does not matter.
optional
- Secure with Titanium Backup everything.
- Copy the Play Store app (Phonesky.apk) from system / priv app on the memory card, as in this version lacks. Then just copy back into CWM cache and Dalvik wipen.
- Booting into the CWM and make a backup.
- Make Fatory reset.
- Now the install Zip.
- Restart the device.
Alternatively, install Google Apps:
PA_Gapps Modular Pico (35MB)
(the wichtigstens Gapps for calendar sync, PlayStore, etc.)
or
Banks Gapps on XDA
(different packages with additional Gapps)
Those coming from Rome KangVIP B121-SP02A1, it can iron directly over it. All settings and data are retained.
Who backed up with Titanium Backup can backup his (No system apps are written in red!) To play back.
The first start takes a little longer. At the first window you will have everything in Asian, patience, switches. Then there is the normal installation.
Go to Rome, for me it runs without problems.
Advantage (my opinion):
- Deodexd
- Use the Advanced Settings (unte settings) can be removed network operator name or enter another name. It is possible to change battery indicator / Hide. Clock can be centered or hidden. It is an advanced power menu available. And much more.
cons:
Do I still have not found.
To mention:
Since I'm at the Telekom I can not comment as it looks (800 Mhz) with LTE. For me, LTE is running. When choosing one can not choose anything too. I suspect that it has to do with the dual capability of the original version and probably Sim are two assigned.
The Asian contained programs, they can all be safely deleted.
Xposed (2.4.1) and modules run.
This note is that then the themes do not work!
If you want to return, simply play through CWM backup back.
My thanks go to KangVIP.

finally...
Thanks... I'll try this as soon as I got some free time... Maybe the weekend...
Better ask before ok and uncertainty.
Hi Fooox1
Here you are for the first question...
At the moment I have B130... Should I downgrade to B127?
No, 127 is the minimum requirement. Can use the 130.
It is the best rom for Mate 7
I use the month. Good job Fooox1 by topic
Can I just verified and can not be fooled by the 122 corresponds to the 127.
Thanks Fooox1. Nice to see a new rom. I 'll try it durring weekend. Curious
EDIT:
Well... I gave it a go. Easy to install with no problems. Works fine, but even if I choose English language there are a lot of Chinese things in there.
I did't notice any difference in speed. Maybe in Antutu benchmarks (but I forgot to run it).
Finally I restored my previews backup only because of the Chinese that I cannot understand
tried and...
Thanks again to fooox1 for posting instructions how to...
To be honest it's really simple and I did not found any problem to install the custom rom.
Unfortunately - as already noticed by freco - still there's a lot of Chinese stuff (probably bloatware for the largest part). More importantly the virtual keyboard it quite different as it includes (obviously) Chinese I was really in trouble to use it....
After a couple of hours, I restored the recovery backup... and I'm waiting for lollipop update
Ciao..
I can not confirm your problems unfortunately. The Chinese programs can all be deleted. When the keyboard is Google doing. Also works without hesitation. Have the Mate switched to English, also because there is no Chinese characters.
Made possible, impatient maintains her when you first start, after flashing. Here you should wait at the first window until it changes from China to the appropriate language and then set on.
Even if I changed language, restart, finish setup, restart, there are still chinese characters in several places and search boxes.
Otherwise everything works perfect.
Can you give me a position exactly, then I can check with me. The one where me is something shows up at the Apollo player, with the name. But only affects ü, ä, ß, etc.
I cannot. Sorry.
I already switched back to my older backup.
No Problem. I invite tomorrow once the high 1.2.

Yes. My mate is LT09 and I confirm you can install it whithout problem.
Question: will gravitybox work with this ROM? Xposed modules can't override the stock theme on the stock ROM at all. If Xposed modules like gravitybox work well then I'll definitely install this ROM when I get a chance
Yes, running like the Stock Rom. Nothing more, nothing less. The Rom yes the Stock base.

About ROMWarning: This ROM is ONLY for the Sprint SM-N910P!!! DO NOT FLASH THIS ROM ON ANY OTHER MODEL!!! If you do then please don't ask for help in this thread. You are on your own! Know what you are doing before flashing and modifying your phone!!! Yes this is an amazing rom BUT it is for the Sprint network model SM-N910P ONLY!!! Please resist the urge to flash this rom on any other model. This is your fair warning.
Initial Release: v1.0
This is a "stock" build with no custom mods other than unlocked native hotspot
Fully deodexed framework and system apps
I built the entire rom and made underhood adjustments as needed. There is way too much work to list here!!!
Root by @Chainfire
Busybox
Init.d support
100% Sprint Note 7 framework and system apps.
100% Sprint Note 4 system files for hardware & feature dependecies.
This rom is guaranteed to bring new life into your Note 4 and make you love it again!
Software version: N930PVPU1APGC
Kernel: Official Samsung N910PVPS4DPJ1 modified to support Samsung UX software
FeaturesThis is a mostly stock rom running the stock Samsung kernel. Although there are no major problems in the rom, I do plan to continue making fine adjustments in order to make this rom as perfect as I can. However, it is a port and many things have been done precisely for the smoothest and most trouble-free operation. Expect minimal issues. Currently this rom is amazing. In the future it will be even more amazing. The ROM includes all working features of the Sprint Note 7 software version N930PVPU1APGC excluding items listed below.
(other than iris and fingerprint scanner and fm radio)
All stock Samsung and Google apps as well as the main Sprint apps like Visual Voicemail and Sprint Zone
Native Hotspot unlocked
Disabled High Volume Warning
5-way Reboot mod for convenience
Removed Itson
Removed/Disabled Knox and related apk's & libs/modules
Removed Sprint bloat installer and Sprint ID
Removed WhatsAppDownloader
Removed Facebook and facebook feature apps (can be downloaded from Google Play)
Removed Samsung Pay and Payment Framework (they are useless on rooted roms since they don't work if you have a rooted system or have tripped knox flag)
There are a few csc tweaks as well as build.prop tweaks. The usual. Nothing far from stock.
Added the following apps:
Peel Smart Remote ( Why not? The Note 4 has a IR blaster unlike the note 7 )
GifMaker app (is an add-on feature for the stock Samsung photo gallery and can be found in the stock gallery's menu)
Samsung fonts package (can be accessed from fonts settings. There's a lot so it takes a few seconds to load them all. When you open fonts settings be patient, they will load)
S7 Edge Nougat TW Launcher
Chinese Smart Manager because it's prettier!
Added Features:
None at this time
Known issues:
This is the list of known minor issues upon initial release.
Always On Display aka "AOD", Edge Lighting and Night Clock are obviously not gonna work properly.
(I have it turned off by default. You can enable it and play with it as well as try different "AOD "fixes" that may be available)
Fingerprint Scanner not working (Workaround added)
No Iris Scanner (I removed instances of Irus scanner in setting because obviously the N4 has no Iris scanner module)
FM radio is broken (I plan to fix this in the future as time permits. (I simply did not make this a priority )
WiFi calling is impossible to fix. (The IMS versions of N4 and N7 are very different. No way to fix this with the N7 dialer)
Update PRL and Profile is not working yet. I plan to fix this when I have more time. Fixed by @jc.m !!!
Launcher swiping left and right has a glitch where it sticks if you press to swipe between home screens
(use short "flicks" instead and there's no issue swiping left & right) Fixed! Flashable zip fix is in post #2
Lockscreen pin/password entry causes reboot.. Fixed by @carlosggb !!!
There are probably a few more minor things that i'm forgetting so I will work on a more precise bug list as I get to them.
***Please report any issues or bugs if you find something. Also PM me so your report doesn't get overlooked in the thread***

Flashing instructions:Before you flash this rom you absolutely MUST be running the latest N910PVPS4DPJ1 firmware for the Sprint Note 4. Specifically the bootloader and modem. Your phone needs to be fully activated prior to flashing any custom rom to ensure a trouble-free transition to this rom. Before you flash this rom, while on a stock Sprint N4 rom, go to Settings/System updates and update PRL then update Profile. Reboot your phone and then go to Settings/Activate this device and launch it to properly activate your phone on the Sprint network. Once this completes, make sure data, calls messaging/mms and gps works as it should. Once everything is activated and working, then proceed with the flashing instructions below. If you ignore this requirement please expect issues and don't ask for help until you do these initial steps.
If you are running software older than PJ1 then you can either take the ota updates in order on your phone via OTA updates, or use odin to flash the software in order of release until you are fully updated. OTA updates on your phone are installed differently than odin packages therefore you may only have to take one or two updates to become current. The OTA updates run scripts to patch your current rom unlike odin tar packages that completely write the entire partition replacing everything clean. I will not go into great detail about that here. I have covered this many times in my other threads so if you aren't sure then do some searching here in the Note 4 forums. If you already updated your software past the PJ1 version then you can try to flash the rom BUT you could possibly have hardware issues with wifi, etc. So if you want to play it safe, revert to the official PJ1 firmware which can be done by odin flashing the stock N910PVPS4DPJ1 software on your PC or a custom firmware only package that can be packaged for this purpose. Just ask if you need help finding it there's a couple of people here that can help with that. My advice is to run this rom with the PJ1 firmware for the best results since the kernel, modules and hardware specific software is based on version PJ1.
***Before you flash this rom, please make sure your battery has at least 30% charge***
OK... Lets begin!
1. Download the rom
2. Check the MD5!!! Use a MD5 checksum tool on your pc or phone (Google is your friend)
3. Copy the downloaded rom to your phone's internal storage or micro-sd card
Note: It has become apparent to me that if you are coming from another custom rom, especially another port rom, that you MUST also wipe your internal storage. Left over data from other roms DO cause major problems! So if you want the best trouble-free experience with this rom, I highly recommend that you backup anything you need from you internal storage and wipe it in recovery. You should do this before placing this rom on your internal storage or else put the rom zip on your micro-sd card.
4. Backup anything you need to backup from your internal storage and copy it to your pc or sd-card (DO NOT RESTORE BACKED UP APPS! INSTALL THEM FRESH FOR THE BEST TROUBLE-FREE EXPERIENCE!)
5. Reboot to TWRP custom recovery. Press "Wipe". Do the "Factory Reset" several times then go into "Advanced Wipe" options and wipe Dalvic-Cache, System, Data, and Cache several times.
6. Go to recovery home screen and select "Install" and select the rom zip that you have already copied to your phone in step 3 above. Install the rom and the script will prompt you to reboot system when it is finished flashing.
7. The initial boot process will take around 12 minutes. Please be patient. It WILL boot.
8. Once the phone has booted and you will see "Installing Applications". The phone will reboot once during this process then continue installing upon reboot.
9. Once you reach the setup wizard ...
10.Reboot to Recovery and Flash Modset, pick your options in the Aroma!!
11.Once you are back to the Wizard Proceed as usual and setup your phone. At the very last step when allowing the weather location access the phone will reboot one more time. Upon reboot you will be at the home screen.
12.If you picked Magisk as your root method, go to the Download folder and install MagiskManager apk or you wont have root access!
13.That's it! You're done! You are now going to smile as you experience the best ROM for the Sprint Galaxy N4 to date.
Note: Immediately upon reaching the home screen you may notice some lagginess. This is due to Google and Samsung accounts syncing all of their respective account features at once. I highly recommend that you first go to cloud/sync settings and set these account options right away to conserve battery and data usage Uncheck the things you don't want or need.
Enjoy the official Note 7 port ROM for the Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 4! Please feel free to post rom feedback and support questions.

Holy cow it's TX... Sup man? I have moved on to an unlocked Note 9 (Snapdragon) that I'm using on a tracfone related service. For which I got a t-mobile tracfone sim for easier compatibility with wifi calling. Which now works by the way. Saving $$ on a phone bill has actually freed up $ for other cool things/projects like doing some TV repair. Haven't felt any need to root actually. I use it for work big time now & don't want to complicate things. Moved away from Sprint which was the only issue with this ROM but you had a solution for that too.
Sprint gone now (on its way out)

Fixes and Additional Files
SMS/MMSDuring testing a few people had issues with sms/mms not sending after a reboot. The guys figured out a fix for this problem so I created a flashable fix which will be copied to your sd card upon flashing the rom. If you definitely have a problem sending sms/mms and it becomes a constant thing then you need to flash this fix. It's a simple edit in one xml file in csc. Simply flash AlternateSmsMmsSendingFix_UN7_Hybrid_by.txdbstx.zip
and reboot. That should fix the sms/mms sending problem.
==========================================================================
Root & SuperSU after a factory resetThe original SuperSU root package will also be copied to your sd card during the rom flash. You will need this if you do a factory reset because you will lose root. Simply flash SR1-SuperSU-v2.78-SR1-20160915123031.zip in recovery AFTER you have done a factory reset AND rebooted your phone at least once.
==========================================================================
Samsung GalleryIf your photo thumbnails disappear in Samsung Gallery then wipe the data and cache for Gallery in "Applications" section of Settings. This should fix the problem. :good:
==========================================================================
The Notorious TouchWiz Launcher Swipe GlitchFlash this UN7-TW-Launcher-Fix-by-tx_dbs_tx.zip and the bug will be gone. You can use any compatible TW launcher without worrying about the launcher swipe glitch. Remember, this fix took me a while to figure out. It should work on other N7 port roms that have the same issue. But please do NOT reupload or post other links to my fixes in other rom threads. Instead, direct people here to this post and make sure people understand that there is a real fix for this problem and I am the one who took the time to fix it 100%. Thank you and enjoy!
Kernels
I highly recommend that you NOT flash kernels from other N4 variants. They likely have different configs for those models. It's not worth it. If you didn't listen to this advice and flashed a different kernel and need to flash the original kernel, check out the recovery flashable kernels here.

if you know how... you would need to have two tar file.. one for baseband and one firmware.
---------- Post added at 04:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:12 PM ----------
give me a second.. i'll upload the PJ1 bl/fw for you...
---------- Post added at 04:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:16 PM ----------
here is the BL/FW i created:
uncheck auto reboot under Option on Odin app...
load the firmware or baseband doesn't matter which one is first... pull battery after you odin one of them, then reboot in download mode volume down + home + power keys at the same time. odin the other file, pull out battery then reboot into recovery then flash your rom... of course your rom has to be in External SDcard and make sure you follow Ops installation instructions.

Updated download link.. go here.

[ROM] TeleNougat V4.5

TeleNougat V4.5 for Sprint
@tdunham managed to get the stock deodexed Nougat rom which is based on the Sprint QC5 7.0 Nougat Note 5. I have everything tweaked in this rom specifically for the s6+ Sprint users.
"Features:
- Pre-Rooted with Magisk
- Hotspot enabled
- Knox Removed
- ItsOn Removed
- Extra Toggles added
- MSL disabled in ##DATA menu"
- S8 Apps:
Calculator/Calendar/Camera/Clock/Contacts/DownloadUi/Email/Galaxyapps/Gallery/Launcher feat. Hello Bixby/Lockscreen/Phone/SamsungInterent/Messages/Music/MyFiles/Phone/Video/Voicerecorder
Known Issues
1. language settings inside of Language and Input fc. (the issue is in systemui if someone wants to play around with it, may not get fixed anytime soon since no one really changes it from english anyway.
2. Hello Bixby app (uncheck video to not get a fc)
3. Night Clock and AOD doesnt work (due to kerne)
ROM INFO
Since this is stock based, everything Sprint related works. (prl, profile update, wifi calling, voicemail)
Personally prefer you to be on QC5 everything first (check general section in you need help odin to Nougat stock.)
Fresh wiped phone is always preferred before installing roms.
Flashing tutorial if needed:
1. Grab a cold one. (Key step)
2. Boot into twrp and WIPE SYSTEM, dalvik cache, cache in TWRP before flashing
3. Flash rom
4. Reboot
*dont forget that Android 7.0 is API 24 which means XPOSED will not work, there isn't an unofficial or official build for it yet.*
Rom Links:
V2 TeleNougat_V2Final4/20
V3 TeleNougat_V3
V4 TeleNougatV4_4/27Build
V4.5 TeleNougat4.5
V4.5 changelog: since noone has been complaing about the test 4.5, here it is. Bixby is pretty much perfect (if fc, clear data/cache for the app) + a few sammy updates (NOTHING MAJOR FROM 4)
V4 changelog: updated ALL SAMSUNG APPS, added samsung members, samsung flow, reminder app, added media ui sounds for rom, Galaxy themes fixed, briefing tab in Bixby working, bootscreen, few edits in build prop.
V3 changelog: updated touchwiz, calendar, clock app, s8 ringtones & media, calculator, phone app, shealth root fix, etc from S8 port base.
V2 changelog: NewStuffAddons is now built in, debloated system, s8 lockscreen, more stock features in stock mms app, no fc for device maintenance (smart manager), 3mini battery/clock, etc.
V1 changelog: Stock Deodexed

Just Curious?
Do you think there's a possibility of something like this being ported over to the standard galaxy s6 (SM-G920P). I just happened to stumble upon this while doing some google searches.
even i have flashed the 70m file still .can not use data and shealth

I doubt it, though you could try, ive never messed with s6 Devices 920P.
Question to OP or anyone who would like to give feedback: If I Backup my Stock-Rooted(SU) in TWRP, then decided to use this ROM, and then also Backup this Rom. Should there be any issues on going back and fourth between the 2? Thanks in advance to anyone willing to give me feedback on this!

Yes, if you install twrp without rooting with the Magisk-v12.0 zip. Stock recovery will replace twrp recovery at least it did for me. If you try to install this Rom without root in twrp I believe your get a not rooted error. You could try it? And also that Rom is prerooted FYI.
Is there a way to add Avatar for sent messages? I tried frash install and still no luck
Great Rom, Thank you!

I flashed the ROM and everything is working great, but how do I get rid of Sprint Hands Free Activation in the installed GT Idoneapps.
When I click on Samsung DM Manager all I get is :" idoneapps is granted super user rights. No permissions to enter OMADM Hidden menu"
Thanks Again .......great rom

Maybe that will help me. I clicked it and it said the same for me
So far so good. Is there any way to disable the data usage stats on pull down? I have unlimited and don't need it. It will just bug me. Thanks a bunch
EDIT: I figured this one out myself. I am including the change in case anyone else wants the data stats removed from quick settings.
1) use ES File explorer or another root explorer.
2) copy others.Xml from "system/ csc"
3) change permissions (not sure if needed but just to be safe)
4) edit others.xml. Near bottom are the new entries for mod and I just changed <CscFeature_SystemUI_SupportDataUsageViewOnQuickPanel>FALSE</CscFeature_SystemUI_SupportDataUsageViewOnQuickPanel>. Was originally true.
5) copy over the existing file
6) reboot
7) profit.
Thanks for Rom. can't wait to get it just the way I want.

The Rom hasn't had a battery drain impact in anyway for me. Thanks again it's running buttery smooth.
