[Q] can you post your current widget log. - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys
can few of the fellow members post their log from current widget?
My mamy phone drains over 150mA every 10-20 min in stand by mode and even if it's push notifications its still way to much in my opinion. Unless there is an app that would exactly show what is draining the battery. Although my phone can still easily manage all day and have quite a lot of juice left to on it but I'm sure it can do better...
Thanks in advance

Current widget shows monstrous battery usage

Current widget constantly shows valued above 150ma on my dhd running android revolution 2.0.11. What could be the cause?

Is that high? I'm using cyanogenmod 7 nightlies and mine goes to 300 regularly.

Sounds about right for normal use with screen on.
What's your standby drain? IE, what does it show when you 1st unlock the phone?
Mine is usually around 2 - 5mA on same ROM as you.
171 ma

I actually meant whats OP's standby drain, but if yours is 171mA that's pretty high for standby (unless you're charging ).
To be sure, check Currentwidget log and see what it is over a period of time when the screen was off.
You can check what's been running by doing this...
Dial *#*#4636#*#*
Go to Battery History
Change Other Usage to Partial Wake Use
Anything that's been keeping the phone awake will be listed.
As I said, my usual is around 2-5mA with screen off, that's with wifi or 3G always on, Facebook sync 4hrs, weather sync 3hrs, Flickr sync once a day and Gmail push.

alright guys. i feel quite embarrassed now. i made a passing glance at a discussion about currentwidget where people were discussing their discharge rate and everyone had a single digit in their post and when i saw mine at 150 i panicked!!
haha, thanks anyways!
No need to feel embarrassed... you have to ask these things to find out!
Man, if you were to see 1/2 the questions I asked to begin when I got my old Hero with you'd feel embarrassed for ME

maybe u should tick "log file" first!
with cm7 and radio 26.04.00:
-150,250ma with screen on
-18ma with screen off
with cm7 and radio 26.06.03.24:
-127 with screen on
-13ma with screen on
I use setcpu interactive, as I found as a good compromise
I saw a wierd behaviour, no matter the radio or other settings...
I use h3g, that's proven to be more drainin than gsm...but waste of battery is less with 3hg than italian Tim (gsm)... automatic brihtness seems more battery drainin than 90% brihtness....
another crap is the very poor radio-hardware.....my desireHD goes from umts to roaming whereas my little huawei ideos is always on umts (like old blackstone)....and battery goes down...
Did you get the current widget work now? I have the same problem, never be able to make the apps to write the log file, my two hd2 phone installed with desire_DL 3.5 SD version, both have the same problem. i kicked the log but never get the log file wrote.

Perhaps, did u move the apps to your sd? If yes, than, maybe try to move the app back to internal phone storage..
Raphael 100 power drain
CurrentWidget displays powerdrain constantly over 325 mA. I wonder how you guys reach anything under 100. I am using Froyo FR06, tried disabling data on backgrund, wifi and gps - no change.
Over 300? With display on, i guess?

Current widget doesn't work
Hi all,
I did what you guys said:
opened a logfile and moved the app to the phone storage.
still the widget doesn't show in the widgets area.
I made a shortcut on my screen.
Still doesn't work...
DHD CM7
What should I do?
Edit: It worked somehow

App to tell what prevents sleep?

Hi!
I am running oxygen 2.0 and i know battery is great for some users, so something must be preventing my phone from sleeping. Sis a full wipe when flashing.
Drain is fairly bad with about 5-10% / hour. Wifi enabled. I came from a stock rooted ROM wich had twice the battery usage. Is there any way to tell what processes is preventing sleep?
Thanks!

Anyone? No apps or scripts to fix this? Really annoying. In the Oxygen thread people get 1-2 hour per percent, i cant go under 2%/hour even with just idling.
Trying a new ROM now, so will do another test tomorrow
Make sure your wifi sleep policy is set to never. I've not had any problems with battery usage on Oxygen. I also have the screen brightness very low.

Thanks for the tips. Already set WiFi to never, and i have auto brightness as Adam suggested in the thread. Adjusted it further down even.
What widgets you use?
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
Try PowerTutor - it helps to define, what app is showing too much activity, when phone sleeps.
Another app is Wheres My Droid Power which tells you what app is using most of you battery!
Widgets: Pure Calendar, Weather widget (with 6 hour update), facebook, power control.
Thanks for the tips! I will be sure to check those out

Program that shows individual program usage?

I have done everything imaginable to improve battery life and my battery monitor shows that 93% of my battery is taken up by my screen. I always thought this was a good thing as it means my system isnt raping my battery.
Im using syndicate 1.2 and i have everything disabled drm/sns/sys update etc etc.
I just dont understand how my battery gets drained so quick. Honestly with regular usage (no games...just browsing and news) on a regular battery it maybe will last 6-7 hours. Doesn't really make alot of sense to me. Was hoping I could narrow down specifically what may be causing it.
Im using beautiful widgets (static location, switcher pro widget, calwidget and thats seriously it with launcher pro. I should be getting great battery life
try spare parts from the market.
hm good suggestion i didnt know it had that feature lol or i just havent opened the program in so long. I removed pandora/winamp/shazam widgets from my phone to see how that makes a difference.
quick question if you know...i know gps isnt supposed to use battery unless a program is accessing it but i hear people say to turn it off all the time. I have seek droid installed as well as lookout and I'd like to keep gps on but if its draining battery just by being 'on' without being used i'll leave it off.
Yeah, widgits will wipe out your battery. Especially if they are constantly updating....

Or, you can pay for Titanium Pro or Bloat Freezer And freeze apps that run even when not in use like Maps,Poweramp,Root Tools, there are lots that do that I bought Bloat Freezer and found out even Google+ runs when not in use. I had like 16 running unknown to me. Launcher Pro was and I use Zeam....

I have launcher pro and I don't think I can get around its usage I just don't get how the programs are raping my battery while not being used. Like pandora or winamp widget shouldt be doing a single thing unless I click them. Same for shazam etc. I want to have access to them via widget but have them frozen if not being used

You can't have your cake and eat it too. The best thing I can recommend is to put app shortcuts on your home screen, you can afford 1 more tap but you can't magically add more battery.
Also turn down your screen brightness. The display is the biggest drain on your battery than anything else. I can literally watch the percentages click away while browsing or reading through XDA. Screen off I use about 1% an hour. Reading XDA I can drop from the 90's to the 70's in 20 minutes.

Yup and XDA runs in the background when not in use..kind of disappointing. I use this app more than any other these days

Process Monitor

I am trying to get the best batt life out of my Hawk 2.3.4 V4 rom. I would have posted this there, but I cant due to the 10 post min. I pay quite alot of attention to what is being said in the forums, I just dont post alot.
I want to know what processes exactly are eating up the CPU time in the android processes, so that I can get rid of the ones I dont need.
Try looking in the market for an app called better battery stats. Its a really good app and when read correctly it will give you the information you need.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
I guess I should clarify. Better battery stats is not a process monitor. All it foes is keep track of how many times each app accesses the CPU. There is also an option for how many "partial wake locks" are being performed by each app. Basically a partial wake lock is when the screen is off and an app starts working while the phone is off. Many people have had good luck with this program. I for one have found that having an alarm on in my phone, regardless of when its going to go off (even 12+ hours from now) will cause partial wake locks. And staying logged into Facebook will cause massive battery drain on my phone. Hope this helps.

[Q] Android os high consumption question

Hi all, I have one question. Am trying to figure why my android os hovers around 65%. I use Microsoft exchange and gmail. I have adjusted syncing, I tried a battery monitor and that told me 121 wakelocks, which in my understanding isn't too bad. I get 16-18 hours on a charge with moderate use, but still need to know if anyone else is having same numbers. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
I too am wondering about this.. my android os in the battery is consistently taking up over 50% of my battery.
I'm assuming this is mostly just widgets and syncing but is there an app that exists that breaks down what this consists of exactly?

What exactly would I be looking for on the battery monitor? I installed it and am not too sure what I need to look for.

Launch app then open battery status from the notification bar and click on app usage. See we app is draining your battery the most. Mine was Facebook, even though sync was down to one hour and location was off... might need to uninstall it.
