[Q] Games - Droid Pro Themes and Apps

For some reason my fifa and need for speed and sims games that worked great on my incredible do not work at all on the pro...any ideas or possible fixes?

im assuming this has something to do with the resolution?

Not really on fifa that game work on any resolution.
Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk

But the other 3d and hd games might have resolution problem. Especially, gameloft games if ur device isn't bigger then 3.5 inches you can't play their games .. no matter how fast your device is.. remember all this app come from the iphone and debs doesn't want to make the apps for smaller res or inches. Like 3.4 inches and smaller.

[Q] Has Anyone Tried FPse Yet?

Has anyone tried the new PS1 emu yet? The word generally is that it is miles ahead of psx4droid, however i dont have a G2/desire z yet. Im looking at getting this phone as my next purchase.
Yes, ofcourse. It is way much better than psx4droid! There is a thread on xda discussing FPse!
trust me its a hell lot better than psx, fpse is so much cooler and it runs a lot smoother than psx

The word would be correct. Just don't confuse savestates with loadstates. That made me lose about 4 hours of FFVII when I was drunk. Its badass though. I went online and found a FFVII savegame and put it on my SD, fpse read it just fine and I was back in business.

I have a problem here in my galaxy s I9003. When i load the bios my games stop working. Can somebody help me. Its android 2.2.1.
I played all of Chrono Cross and some of Grandia. CC was so much fun! Had to oc to 1.4 ghz our so for CC, but Grandia was good at 1ghz.

Was using it back in my WinMo days, now I'm using it on the DZ and I love it, the hardware keyboard makes all the difference.
Runs nice and smooth (I play without sound, though, personal preference).
FPSE is ok. a lot of the games that work on psx4droid, dont on FPSE, which can get quite annoying.
But the frame rate and the over all smoothness is better on FPSE.
AND if you get sixaxis pair tool from the market, you can play the games with a ps3 controller (FPSE)! The controller doesnt work however on psx4droid.
(Just a little input)

Do these games work well on the G2?

Hey guys, just getting myself acquainted to the G2 before I actually get my hands on it. (should be arriving in 4.5 hours.) I am coming from the LG Optimus T and as you guys probably know it can't really do a spectacular amount of things when it comes down to 3D games. Anywho, my question for you guys this morning is... What games (rpg, fps, etc.) do you guys play on the G2 and how well do they work? I would love to play something like Dungeon Defender, Dungeon Hunter 2, or even N.O.V.A. 2, is that a possibility?
The G2, while underclocked at 800 mhz, has a second-generation Qualcomm processor, meaning it can out-preform phones with a 1ghz first-generation Qualcomm (i.e. Nexus One). I've used an Optimus T as well, and the difference between it and the G2 is incredible. I don't think you'll have a problem -- my G2 has run every game I've thrown at it without the slightest hint of lag. It's not going to have as much power as a phone sporting a Nvidia or dual-core processor, but I haven't run into any problems whatsoever.
if games do give you any trouble at all (they shouldn't, the only lag i get at all is on my n64 emulator playing megaman64) just download chainfire3d from the market, it requires root tho, but it lets you mess with the textures and increase framerate, its pretty cool. honestly there are no games made currently that cant be handled by our phone.
Every game I've tryed runs perfectly. It has the most powerful GPU (behind the galaxy s by a little bit) of any single core phone, and is 4x faster than the adreno 200 in the nexus one, which is usually the development phone for games. You shouldn't have any problems with any gameloft games for the time being, but you can always OC to 1.9Ghz should games decide to demand more (^o^).
The only games that our phone can't run are specific tegra-2 optimized games. This is because they only support dualcore, but it is an android rather than a g2 problem. By the time Ice Cream Sandwhich comes along, tegra2 games should run on our phone.
Any Gameloft game you use on the G2 will run really well except for one big problem.. usually after the second or third time you play one of those games, the load times increase dramatically. To the point where it's not even worth trying to play anymore.
Eric, that doesn't happen to me. Honestly OP, if you want a device for gaming, this iis the one to get.

N64oid laggy

Anybody notice that N64oid runs slightly laggy on the One X? It was smoother on my Desire HD
I'm playing Zelda on my phone, and its running very smooth.
Don't get me wrong the games work pretty much full speed but every few seconds the game will jerk and slowdown slightly, I've noticed this on both Mario 64 and Goldeneye. I shall have to try some other games too
I can confirm that games such as Mario Kart and Mario 64 have slight lag spikes, but I really have no other material to compare this to. So I can't say if performance is worse or better than, say, an SII.
Ah that's ok, I thought it was me. Must be a Tegra 3 thing, hopefully they'll fix it soon enough. Both Mario games were fine on my old Desire HD. Ah well at least the emulator works haha

I suspect the emulator isn't even multi-threaded, so there is a big room for improvement.
I hope the developer implements it, Goldeneye would be perfect with a slight speed increase
Cheers for testing anyway guys, I'm glad it wasn't just me
I don't know what you were running on your DHD, but when I had the Galaxy Nexus it would do the same thing, so I'm thinking it might have something to do with ICS. Then again, if you're playing in full screen mode and such, there are many more pixels to push when emulating as well.
Same little lags here. Strange because it ran perfectly smoothly on my Prime on ICS (video demo at my youtube channel). Runs worse than the SGSII or Galaxy Note.
On my DHD I was running virtuous affinity (gingerbread)
I am guessing its caused either by ICS or the emu being optimized for single core (most likely)

Can I ask you guys how you connect to play you N64oids? Virtual keys i guess some use but there must be a way to connect via USB or bluetooth, imagine having all that set-up via Media Link HD
Thats one thing I wanna do, play Zelda on my screen with a remote via the HTC on the TV
I use the touchscreen personally, it works ok I guess. I believe you can get a bluetooth game controller for android though or use a Wii remote

Cool, reason I ask is because it would be really cool to play N64oid and use a remote via Bluetooth or USB OTG while having Media Link connected to a nice HD TV
Its the games themselves which cause the issue remember emulation is not always 100 %
U can grab a ps3 controller and use that

must be the screen resolution which is around double that of the desire.
Sorry to break it to you guys, but I'm pretty sure it's the phone. I'm using the exact same ROMs, which run perfectly on my Prime, and my Note. That suggests it is neither the ROMs, nor the resolution. A bit baffling considering the hardware in the Prime is near identical. Others are noticing gaming performance doesn't appear to be living up to expectations, so makes me think it is something in HTCs implementation (I recall similar problems with the Sensation at release).
In relation to the gaming setup you're talking about above, it's sweet - here are some demos of me running a similar setup with other devices:
Probably ICS, many apps need configuring.
If you experience some annoying hiccups during emulation, just go to engine settings and set the maximum frame skip to 0, it's 3 by default.

[q] htc one v games

Hello, what kind of 3d game u prefer on HTC ONE V ??
Well so far I've tried these 3D games (stock, non rooted)
Dead Space- Beautiful but really laggy (but still playable, at like ~20 fps)
Real Racing 2- Pretty smooth, really nice, overall a fun game
Asphalt 6 - meh, game is OK, runs OK for the most part
Shadowgun - Runs nice for the most part, drops the framerate in the action scenes though
I kinda hate to say it but this isn't really a gaming phone, even 2d emulators which ran perfect on my old Droid X (which SHOULD be weaker) struggle on this phone (with sound, not on the game, but STILL)
erm... sonic 4 episode 1...
Blood And Glory (NR)
Try sum other games like gta 3 ,frontline commando, mike v skateboard.....
They are one of my fav games....

Can someone test if Cut the Rope runs smoothly?
Also Angry Birds space and if possible GTA V!
Thanks! I don't have this phone yet but I might get it. I need to know the peformance and should I get. Thanks in advance.
I'm new to XDA
P.S: I'm suprised that Dead Space is a bit laggy. Even my Xperia X8 can handle it with no problem/lag! and thats just 600MHz!!!!!!

Be sure to hit the thanks button for this one!
Temple run keeps crashing
Temple run doesn't play smoothly on my stock unrooted one v.. it sometimes crashes on startup and other times during gameplay.. is this a hardware issue or icsi compatibility issue and I haven't had time to try other games but do they also have problems?

This includes Modern Combat 3, Dungeon Hunter 3, MIB 3, The Amazing SpiderMan, Ice age, Nova 3 & many more. Hope that some of this games work fine on HOX

I think it means that if it's optimized for the Nexus 7, which is a Tegra 3 device, it's also optimized for our HOX.

That's just crazy, you think Gameloft would want to sort its games out so they work properly on the flagship device of one of the world's biggest phone manufacturers, not to mention the official google tablet uses the same processor.

Well yea you'd think so... Gamelofts version of optimising for nexus 7 means allowing it to run it. It's not optimised at all. For example, there was a hox version of modern combat 3, which ran beautifully. Nexus 7 play store downloads a version that runs like a really quick slide show. nova 3 on the hox, the version I tried, had all effects like the iphone4 version. It did run like crap also. The nexus play store version runs similar, but doesn't have the smoke and lighting effects. Dark knight runs steppy, etc...etc... Hamdir is running a thread to make tegra games 60fps... This is a whole other issue, getting games above 30fps on a cutting edge chipset. Especially as I've seen my friend play nova 3 on his sensation at what I perceived as 60fps. It looked amazing!!

man again u r not being fair, I played on the sensation its 60fps with every effect disabled, n I mean dead flat no reflection on any surface
mass effect v1.30 on the hox had much less effect n ran over 60fps
also sgs3 runs nova3 at 60fps with everything on, ripetide runs very badly
effects on the hox for nova is a luck issue the game gets confused by the 3d dots menu and turns them on
with a custom kernel like faux004b6 nova3 runs very well
the gaming app, faux kernel and my guide proves there is nothing wrong with tegra its just software issues
all HTC has to do is include a performance profile

I believe I'm being pretty fair? Gameloft need to pull their finger it and get optimising for tegra. Whilst I get what youre doing on hox, and the need for performance profiles, the same issues with Gameloft games are present on the nexus 7, whikt tegra games are just smoother out of the box than hox was. Its gamelofts issues here, not tegra.

meanwhile some levels in Dead trigger are simply ps3 quality @ 100MB! respect!
