[JAN 27][TMOUS][LEO1024][ROM/ZIP]HD2 CoreDroid DHD V1[1024 optimized by CaptainHakan] - HD2 Android NAND Development

I love the new NAND CoreDroid DesireHD theme but recent NAND realease of Sergio is simply not optimised for our TMOUS LEO1024 devices. So it runs slower not using full capasity of LEO1024. I requested a TMOUS version of HD2 CoreDroid DHD V1 from Sergio in his own thread but i got no feedback at all. Besides of that we all know how flawless CMXYGO's DesireHD builds run on our TMOUS LEO1024 devices. So i tried to apply Sergio's HD2 CoreDroid DHD V1 theme on CMXYGO's Stock DesireHD build using droid explorer by overwriting framework-res.apk and app apk files. After lots of trial - denials i was finally succesful to make it to a point but it was still not fully themed as Sergio's HD2 CoreDroid DHD V1. So i decided to work on making a build based on Sergio's HD2 CoreDroid DHD V1 but using similiar partition logic from CMXYGO DesireHD builds.Result was magnificient!
So briefly this is the same HD2 CoreDroid DHD V1 from Sergio but optimised for TMOUS LEO1024 devices with no EXT partition support. This build stores everything on NAND with high cache usage. So i present you the build i am using on my LEO1024 at the moment.( Note: LEO512 users please do not flash this rom as u may not even boot it and even if you can boot it you will have no extra space for your apps)
I will keep this build updated if u guys enjoy it and give me some positive feedback for encouragement.
P.S. I know this is not a proper way to push a new thread but i got no time to do more at the moment. I will arrange this thread later when i have more spare time.

You will not need your HD2 device untill step 8
1 Download the SD Card Formatter 3.0 From HERE http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter_3/eula Install it on your pc
2 Take of your sdcard from the device and plug it directly on pc without cables etc...
3 Use sdcard formatter to format your sdcard to fat32. Use default settings
4 Don't unplug your sdcard from pc yet as you are gonna copy some files from your pc to it
5 Extract downloaded zip to a folder of your choice
6 Copy contents of copy_to_sd_root (initrd.gz and zImage) to the root of your sd card
7 Copy CoreDroid_HD_HD2_v.zip to the root of your sd card
You will need your HD2 device from step8 on
8 Once you are done with formating and copying 3 files on your sdcard unplug it from pc and plug it in HD2 device.
9 Boot into magldr by long pressing call end button and select USB Flasher option. Then connect your HD2 to your PC via usb cable
10 Run DAF.exe included in the zip and follow onscreen instructions.
11 After complete device will reboot in magldr. Plug the usb cable off and chose Boot AD SD option
You will not need to plug your HD2 device to PC via usb cable from this point on
12 Device will boot into Clockwork Recovery
13 Select install zip from sdcard
14 Select choose zip from sdcard
15 Select CoreDroid_HD_HD2_v file and then confirm
16 Wait for it too finish
17 After flash options pop up again Press back Key
18 select reboot system now
19 Let it boot wait about +-10Min Enjoy

ill keep you updated if there are any bugs, but so far so good. keep up the great work.

MMS
How is the MMS issue on this build? Combining both wonderful builds, will we still get blurry MMS? I've tried almost every build and still get low quality and blurry images.
Thanks in advance!!!

Great! Tnx

Did you change the rest of the settings related to TMOUS including gps.conf, apns-conf.xml, and DNS settings in build.prop?
EDIT: Checked out the files. You have the proper APNs. In /System/gps.conf change the europe to us and in /build.prop replace the DNS section with

net.ppp0.dns2=216.155.175.105

where is the nand download?

Any feedback on root problem since this is based on CMY's build? Or all files are from sergio's?

Is it really necessary to reflash magldr as I already have a 400 megabyte partition. Also what is the purpose of formatting the sd card in the first step?

Never know what he changed or how he changed it. For sure the default partitioning is different. Would it really hurt to take 4-5 minutes to partition the device?

I went ahead and partitioned. Had to dig up a windows box for the task which is why its a bit of a pain. Problem is that after all that I still can't boot past the HTC logo. It stuck there for 30 minutes. Finally restored a backup of gingerbread. Any ideas?

I had that with the normal build. For me, I formatted everything and used GParted to re-partition my SD to get it to Sergio's standards. After I did the full clean, it worked flawlessly. It really is a pain in the ass. The other builds don't seem to have this issue really.

I believe you might have passed the sdcard format or DAF partioning steps or your device is not leo1024. Others have booted succesfully so there is no reason for the build to not work for you.

This is Nand version already. You just need to repartition properly as an extra step for this build to work.

All files are from Sergio's build as untouched. I just done a couple of changes with partitioning Sergio's build for our Leo1024 devices properly and few small enhancments to make it work smooter for our Leo1024's superior ram. So there should be no root problem as Sergio's original rom had no root problem at all !

If you don't format your sdcard at first step then you might possibly have bootloops. It's a must to reflash magdlr cause this build uses no ext partitions whatsoever and it uses almost 430Mb just for system files which is more then your recent 400Mb system partition. If you try to setup this build without reflashing magdlr then the zip rom will be installed with no error messages but there is no way for you to pass the boot screen at first boot due to improper partitioning.

you totally got the point! thanks for your help. All the rom files are from Sergio's build as untouched. I just rearranged the rom files and their partitions to work with custom CMY tweaks which is likely closer to CMXYGO's builds.

Main goal of my build is not to use an EXT partition having all the files in NAND! if you need an ext partition then i would suggest you to go for Sergio's orginal build.

Help Flashing Sense 3.0 Roms

Hello I have been having issues flashing any sense 3.0 roms on my phone. Other roms flash perfectly fine including gb roms. I am currently running INfected Inspire 4g and ran Mikfroyo prior to that as well as many more froyo roms. I have a version 002 Evo purchased on launch day. I am fully rooted using Amon Ra's latest recovery. The roms flash perfectly fine but I get an infinite boot loop on the white "HTC Evo 4g" screen. I have tried superwipe and have used it 3x prior to flashing a rom, I have the latest radio, pri etc. I have also tried flashing with a downgraded 1.7 pri. I have "double flashed" the roms. All with no luck. I still get the bootloop. Is there any fix or ideas how to resolve this issue I would really love to use some of the newer GB roms.
Here is a list of Roms that give the bootloop after flashing:
Dominus_Zeta
Virusrom Kingdom Revolution
B.O.S. Kingdom port r2
Misfits speedy port
Virusrom gingersense
Evolved Rom shifted "Get abducted"
There may be one or two more but there are enough there to find a common denominator. If there is any way that this can be fixed I would be greatly appreciative. Also I will be subscribed to this thread and have xda sent to my phone so most of the time I will reply very soon to answer any questions to help solve the issue. A huge thank you in advance to any one willing to offer a helping hand.
i believe you need to partition the sdcard to make enough space for the /system. yes, some /system will be on your sdcard.

I have the same hardware, launch day 0002 hardware, I recently started using Virus Kingdom ROM, the latest version from his website. When I was first messing with it I would have problems with the white EVO screen not going away, I would have to pull the battery and get back into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik and make sure to select shut down phone instead of reboot.
Hope that helps!

[Q] about [ROM] [20/08] Pre-rooted Stock Gingerbread (3.14.405.1) from teppic74

Hello there Dudes!
First i want to send you my compliments for your GREAT and helpfull sites/ forum about all rootings & stuff
A past few Days i had such no idea about rooting etc. You helped me sooo much, i just want to say thank you...
And NOW?!?!
I'm coming from FROYO_2.2.2 with 5.11.xx now i have the OFFICIAL GB 2.3.3 with 5.17.xx
I HAVE ROOT! I HAVE S-OFF!
I have a new Hboot and CWM flashed!!!
Everything works fine.
But I still have problems with the internal Memory. A few aps and im out of space This is why i now had part my sd with des RomManager Tool. 512 to ext and 256 to cache.
But the Stock-Install don't mount the ext.part.
Now i have read, i had to do it BEVORE install ROM. Right? Not a big Problem, but i want to stay Stock as possible. So this ROM seems to be perfekt.
It shouldn't be any problem with GSM/HSDPA/EDGE and all the european NetworkStuff?!?
By the way: Provider is O2 (but i think it doesn't matter)
BUT:
Now I have a little problem to download the file from mirror placed in the entry-post. Is it a fault of my network or did you move the files to another server?
Can you give me an alternate adress?
I can't post in the developer forms.
THX a LOT
PS: Just another little Q i didn't find an answer:
Must a system be installed on the device, to flash a new ROM with an RUU executive? Or will it work too if the Desire in Bootmenu, only?
Hi,
I Didn't need to activate a2sd before installing rom.
I use Cyanogenmod, but i thing it should work on stock rom too.
Search for “darktremor“.

And you need only the recovery to flash a rom.

Have you installed a2sd addon from Teppic's thread?
SwiftKeyed from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk.
No, I hadn't install the ap2sd from teppic yet, because the downlink seems to be broken too.
But, it doesn't matter. I want to wipe my phone, because of other (i hope) software errors I had on phone since a long time.
For example the international storage have after install the GB update from 2.2 to 2.3 only ~110 to 120 MB free. This can't be right, can it?
So, now I want to try to do a new installation with min 3 wipes/ factory reset before.
This is why the question is: can I install a RUU file over USB, when there is not longer a system on phone? I think I have to make it from Cmw-Recovery with an zip?
So, my greatest wish is. Please give me a funktional downlink to the system of teppic!
Thanks so far!
Edit: now I realized the post from conch
UPDATE:
Plugged in a new 8GB µSD (C4) and partition it with CWM-Recovery to 1024MB ext and 256MB Swap.
This should be enough
Now coming up a new Question. What is the ext-part now of format? ext-2/3/4? I don't have seen any option to change this in recovery? Is the AmonRa better with this? I read, there you can have a format of your choice.
So, now I only have to get the rom of teppic
EDIT: New thinking way...
1. Can the errors be solved by a damaged kernel? The ROM's dosn't inklude Kernel, does it?
How can completely change/erase the Kernel and flash a new one? Like the Same as flash an ROM or Radio?
2. When i flash an lower ROM (2.1/2.2) coming from a newer/higher (like 2.3.3 with Radio_5.17.xx) do i have to change the Radio too? Maybe for an 2.2 the 5.11.xx? Or will 2.2.x & 2.1 also work with an higher Radio (like 5.17.xx)
Thanks a lot!

So far, so good...
I had now installed the Stock GB Rom. From the official developer update RUU.
A few wipes, before install, seems to be cleaned my system. No I have ~125MB free space on phone!
I installed the CWMR 5.0 again and also the SU 3.x from teppic. Everything looks fine and working.
Just again the same little problem that the diskspace for my apps will be totaly full soon... What did the think about this little storage??? Arrrgglll!
Before installing ROM i changed the partition on SD to 1024MB ext-3 without swap.
And noew I have installed the ap2sd from teppic74 too. In recovery, everything looks fine. The install-procedure runs to end and show no errors.
But I still have 125MB and can't find any ap2sd app or something
Do i have to mount the ext-3 in any way, or did I miss something other?
Best regards and many thanks to all the people answered me! And not much less all the people who created this forum!
1) a2sd is not an app but a script. Besides ls I don't think there is a way except observing how your /data partition behaves. Frankly, I think adb is little over your head now. If not, search Droidzone's guide.
2) exactly what are you doing? You have a ruu installed now and you flash a2sd over it, or you installed Teppic's ROM?
SwiftKeyed from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk.
Exactly I installed the developer RUU. Then flash it over adb with the ClockworkMod-Recovery and than install the v3.x SU from teppic with flashing from CWMR. Make new boot to check if SU works. Seems to be fine.
Then installed the ap2sd, from teppic, again with CWMR. Looks fine. But I don't think it was success. Because I've seen a screenshot in another thread, from an HTC desire, where you can see, the phone storage is more than 1GB. But I don't find this post again:/
Now I go on, first install the "Rom Manager".
So pls my friends tell me what I did wrong. Because the great internal storage with ap2sd+ was the main reason to make my phone root.

SensuAOSP ROM vs. Shooter for the EVO 4G?
SensuAOSP

Shooter

Shooter seems like a quick install with an amazing build!
whereas SensuAOSP ROM (amazing build as well) has:
1. Wipe everything except your SDcard 3x
2. Partition your SD card to 1024, 0 swap
3. Upgrade ext2 to ext3
4. Upgrade ext3 to ext4
5. Flash the ROM
6. Wipe cache and dalvik-cache
7. Reboot
8. Dont touch your phone for at least 15 minutes
Also, if anyone can direct me to how to perform steps 1-4 or elaborate - would rock!

You'll find it a few pages back in the dev section
In the recovery, youll see an option to partition your sd card, hit it, set swap to 0, and set the SDext size to 1024.. when it finishes, youll see an option to upgrade ext2 to ext3, do that, then select the option upgrade ext3 to ext4.
PARTITIONG YOUR SD WILL DELETE EVERYTHING OFF OF YOUR SDCARD
Do you have any more questions? Also, never apologize. I'm here to help.

Download whichever one, make sure it is smelkusMOD 4.3, and download the one ending with .zip, rename it to PC36IMG, and put it on the root of your SD, boot into the bootloader, and select yes when it asks to update, dont restart the system, then boot into recovery from hboot.
(I wont be replying for another hour or two)

SensuAosp Help
Hi,
I rooted & flashed SensuAosp last night...I love it . Thanks for the clear instructions (definitely one of the easier ones ) So its running. But I have one issue. I've searched Google'd and even read through over 156 pages of forum q&a tips tricks etc..
So my problem is that some of the apps (Facebook, Slice It, etc) won't open (error msg & force closes) .
Went to Google play (figured maybe they needed updating) its stuck on downloading but doesn't download ( using WiFi).
I cleared cache, uninstalled play update, cleared service framework, even cleared media storage, & reboot several times.
None of them worked.
My mobile service SPRINT is intentionally disconnected I have an abundance of wifi. Why is this not working?
Here are my specs:

What recovery are you using? If you're using amon ra v. 2.3 it's under the other menu, and called fix uid mismatches. If your using smelkusmod, it's under the other menu, and called fix permissions. If your using clockworkmod it's called fix permissions

Hey, I tried it...even did it three times just in case and still a no go. I even rebooted cleared devlik cache etc. three times also... I'm stuck ... I loooovvveee my new ROM...
P.s. I think SPRINT put a hex on my phone since I'm temporarily boycotting their retarded service ...

Matz69 Myth Mrage custom rom installed :)

Since I'm new here and can't post to the developers section, I'm posting here just to say thank you for this great custom rom.
Was my first flash attempt ever flashing a rom and it went so smooth I think I'm gonna try it again and again just to see all the other installation options of the aurora installer. Big thank you to my country fellowman MatZ69 and the rest of the team for this awesome work.
I know my opinion ain't worth much since I'm on my first custom rom (have been rooted and using link2sd for a few months though but my sd got damaged ... so it was time to make a clean start) but I'm happy with it so far. No bugs detected yet, except for the brightness slide not working in the popdown bar.

check the Q&A. you must lock and unlock the phone to get the brightness slide working
Tnx for the reply. I had already seen the Q&A just before you answered but with all respect for the developer I still think it's a tiny bug cause having to lock and unlock screen to see the effect on brightness doesn't make much sense and it's even more disappointing because I was so happy with that brightness slide in the pulldown bar which is really handy in that spot if it would actually work. Hope a patch comes out to solve this. Playing for almost 24 hrs with this ROM and love every bit of it sofar! Any idea if it's possible to switch to the other installation options on this ROM without actually having to re-install everything again? Already re-installed lots of apps, contacts, messages etc. and would't like to go through this again but I'm curious about other options. Btw. Any idea if it's possible to backup linked apps on ext4 partition of SD (using link2sd)? Getting a new 8 GB class 10 SD soon ....

Wow just found out that the top pulldown bar slides showing lots of handy features! This is great, love it! Also saw that there's a patch that fixes the brightness slide and some other fixes. And will it make me loose all data again like contacts or the apps (on ext4 partition on sd)? Sure hope not ...

Just install from recovery. Select install from sd card and follow the usual steps.
Tnx for the reply but will it make me loose all apps contacts sms etc. just like when installing new rom? Because if it does I'll have to backup lots of stuff and in that case I'd rather wait till I have my new class 10 sdcard and do a clean install again including this patch. Now if this patch doesn't affect existing data I'll try it right away. So that's what I really need to know to decide when to install the patch.

Thanks I just successfully installed the patch and all still working ok.
While installing I noticed it started Aroma installer again asking for UI options theme icons etc. and I wonder if it's possible to start Aroma installer again to try the several UI themes etc.? Can I just reinstall the patch again? Thanks for your patience with this newbie. You've all been very helpful and amigo MatZ69 is a fantastic developer, thanks for this very good rom and patch. Up to next problem I encountered ...
Tried to do a nandroid backup with CWM5.0.2.7 (signed_cwm-5.0.2.7-flashablezip-ext4+rfs.zip ) and got the famous error:
"Could not mount sd-ext. sd-ext backup may not be supported on this device. Skipping backup of sd-ext" followed by the usual "Generating md5 sum..."
From what I've read on this forum I understand that only nandroid backup does the complete backup of both the FAT32 AND the EXT4 (2nd partition) that I'm using for link2sd. For this reason I think it will be useful to use the nandroid backup/restore method to swap my old Samsung SDCARD 4GB with my new SDCARD (8GB Sandisk class 10) that I ordered.
But since the backup of sd-ext fails I'll probably won't be able to restore anything and even if it does restore anything, it will most likely fail to restore the 2nd partition (Ext4) because the backup didn't work in the 1st place ...
Does anybody have an idea if installing CWM 5.0.2.7 (•signed_cwm-5.0.2.7-flashablezip-ext4only.zip) will solve this problem (since this ROM is Ext4 ROM and I also have 2nd partition on ext4 format). CWM5.0.2.7 that I have now installed is supposed to be compatible with both ext4 + rfs but if it was really that good I guess why phiexz bother to develop a ext4only version, right? I found some workaround here ofr the md5sum error if you wanna restore from nandroid http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1606047 but don't think that it will solve the backup problem of sd-ext so even I manage to restore I'll probably loose all info on 2nd ext4 partition, am I correct? So I really want CWM to do a correct backup of all data system sd-ext etc. without any errors. But when I read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421650 and the known issues, I´m not so sure if I wanna try this on my gio. Having to edit scripts etc. might become too complicated ...
Anyone has an idea if just doing a manual mount of sd-ext in CWM mount&storage before I do the backup will solve the backup problem of sd-ext and also the md5sum error?
I know it's a lot of questions but any help is appreciated and if there's anything wrong in how I think that these things work please correct and explain it to me because I don't really know what the hell I'm doin' ... just having fun playing around But I'm very happy with this custom rom, beats my providers stock rom 10-0

Oops forget it, I think I found it after reading the old cwm topic and that I have to install the cwm ext4only version to solve this because the version that I'm using only reads ext2 ... so that's probably why I didn't have problems in the past doing backup because my 2nd partion used to be in ext2 and I re-formatted to ext4 when I decided to do a clean install of this custom rom. So it looks like I'm gonna try to install the ext4only version of cwm tonight, see if I manage and how that works ...
Solved the errors with nandroip backup!
Running cwm 5.0.2.7 ext4+rfs, first i tried to fix it by doing a install from zip from a fix-nandroid-backup.zip file I found in some thread about the md5sum error. Then I did backup but to no avail ... the error stayed. So I decided to reboot first and try again but backup got stuck in some infinite loop and I only managed to get the cwm menu back by pressing the on/off button. Pfff .... lucky me!
So then I downloaded and installed the cwm 5.0.2.7 ext4only version and that solved the problem, no sd-ext errors did a perfect backup and also md5sum was OK.
So then the next step was to change the bootanimation because that one of the few things I don't like about this fantastic rom ...
Substituted the bootanimation.zip file in /system/media by this honeycumb blue one here in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=985251 and it all works and looks great ... would have prefered orange to match with this rom but doesn't exist as far as I know.
Now it's time to do some a new nandroid backup and titanium backup and next project is to copy all back to my new sdcard when I get it and then try to restore all see what happens ... I'll keep you all posted and thanks for all your help and all the info available on this forum.
You guys rock! :good:
I tested and loved this ROM but there are two problems that make me return to my previous installation:
It doesn't detect my ELM327 Bluetooth device to read my car OBD data (the device isn't listed after scan for Bluetooth devices)
The GPS after 10 minutes in open field and with data connection active can't FIX
I most certainly use this ROM again if this problems disappear :good:
I rarely use gps (even freezed navigator and maps) but I'll give it a try tomorrow out in the field. Didn't test Bluetooth either will test that as well and give feedback here or at the topic of this Rom in the development section. Think I reached ten posts including this one
What Rom did you use before this one? Just being curious what you liked better or was more stable than this new Rom ...
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda app-developers app
The Bluetooth works fine with audio devices (I've a Parrot in my car) and with the PC but I need to connect to my OBD port to monitorize some parameters to see if it's all OK. The GPS I use to track my bicycle runs and do geocaching.
I'm using ROMs released by phiexz and his last is from June: cm-7.2.0-20120710-NIGHTLY-gio-AROMA
There are ROMs more faster but I like this one because s2e works just fine and with that Titaniun Backup can work with the sd-ext and move the data of some programs.

[Q] First time rooting/flashing, funny behavior with roms!

Hello everyone,
This is my first post and my first time rooting and flashing an Android phone. I decided to start with a Sprint HTC Evo 4G because it's an older phone and no longer my primary one.
I extensively browsed the forums and many threads to try and piece together what was needed to accomplish the task.
I ended up following this guide pretty much to the T:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1473373
My HBoot is 2.18, I had a stock Kernel and Stock OS before I attempted anything.
I unlocked the boot loader and then added the AmonRa Recovery.
I could not proceed past step 27 in the tutorial to achieve S-OFF, because the files attached don't seem to exist anymore.
Can someone please post a mirror? Is S-OFF even really necessary? I've read conflicting reports.
In any case, I was able to wipe everything and try out a few roms with mixed success.
Superuser and busybox both confirmed I did have root (or perhaps it is a limited root because I couldn't finish S-OFF)
The Decks Reloaded .500 rom would get stuck in a boot loop, couldn't figure out why.
The Jellybread rom would also get stuck in a boot loop with the "X" animation window.
The third rom I tried managed to work and it was the Thundershock one. But the rom seems to eat battery life and the over-all performance is laggy.
I think it's an issue with the process I did rather than the rom. Maybe I need a newer Kernel?
Could anyone please chime in and perhaps walk me through what I should do next?
Take a look at the thread in the link below. I used it not too long ago to root and S-off two EVO's. S-off isn't a total necessity on this device but it allows you to do things like update your radios (if you have the latest firmware then this is less of an issue). You can flash ROM's and custom kernels without any issue while S-on. Also, keep in mind that S-off and root are two different things altogether, therefore, S-off doesn't mean "full root" (if you want a better explanation, click the top link in my sig and read the section regarding S-off vs. Root. The guide is for the EVO LTE, but the definition of root and S-off is the same). As for issues with installing certain ROM's, check and make sure you got a good download, and you should be using a Amon_Ra based recovery, not ClockWorkMod. This could be part of your issue, as CWM is known for not wiping properly, which could cause issues when flashing.

Thanks!
FinZ28, thank you for taking the time to respond. I made sure I used the Amon_Ra based recovery as that's what the various threads all recommended. I will look into the fact that maybe I received bad data in regards to the two earlier ROMs I tried out.
I know that both of them resulted in a boot loop, even though I did flash as per instructions and made sure to partition my SD card and use ext4.
On that note, they mention always setting swap to 0 and the partition size to 1024.
But, my SD card is only 1GB so 1024.
In order for the SD partition to work and the Amon_Ra recovery to update the file system format, I had to put 0 to swap, 512mb for the partition, and the other 512 "for the rest."
Then I was able to partition and update the file system format from ext2 > ext3 > ext4
Is this the right way to do it? How would you partition a 1GB SD card for certain ROMs that require it?
My first suggestion is to get a larger sdcard. 1 gig is tiny. Although the 512/512 setup you have should be fine for anything needing partitioned sdcard.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Also when you say a bootloop there might be a different thing going on. Depending on the ROM you are using it might have a2sd baked in. For those Roms they boot(loop) two to three times to set everything up. So have you let it loop more than three times?
My evo also gets stuck in bootloop when I try to install the latest thundershock 3.03 rom and can't figure it out

Look at the OP for whatever ROM you're flashing. See if there is any mention of A2SD, and if so, make sure you have your phone & SD card set up properly.

Wipe!
Like the others have said... Wipe.... wipe....wipe! The AmmonRA recovery does not come with a super duper wipe setting so you may want to download
A nice example can be found here:
http://www.android-hilfe.de/root-ha...pe-wipe-zip-dhd-unterstuetzung-fuer-ext4.html
That tends to take care of most of the bootloops I have experienced...
