850 / 1900 / 2100 Config Files (FR/ITA/ES etc etc) - Flipout and Charm Development

Here we are, I post the european config files for 850 / 1900 / 2100 network
You can use it on the RUTEM_U3_01.14.2 last deblured rom.
All you have to do is replace the folder in etc/system/

ATT
will those files work on ATT because of the 1900 and 850, or would I need the exact ATT version?

Yep , normaly they will work on ATT network, except for 2100 who is not present on your network. give a try.
If these files don't work , the best thing to do is reflash the original ATT rom or if you didn't change in your original rom,
and backup the frequency folder /etc/motorola/"bp_nvm_default" .
To do this you will need to room your device and pick up the folder with rootexplorer.
but normaly you won't have to do that because of the similar freQ

great!
ok, Ill try this with the newer de-blurred rom, because I can't seem to find the original att rom anywhere, hopefully this unbricks the phone!

Did you manage to unblur it?
Did you brick it? With which ROM?
Have you tried the modified recovery?

Is there SBF available for the Rogers Canada branded Flipout?

Does anybody have config files for British retail Flipout?
I've flashed RUTHEM_U3_01.14.2(Debranded ROM for Central Europe) which seems to work great, but I have some issues with signal reception I didn't have with the original ROM. I assume the reason is in band configuration, according to and-developers.com, my original ROM used 900/2100 and the new one uses 850/2100. Standard for my region is GSM 900, DCS 1800, UMTS 2100.
Thank you in advance.

GSM 900/2100 Configuration Files
I managed to get these files myself, so if you have UK retail Flipout and you encountered signal reception issues after flashing RUTEM_U3_01.14.2, these configs might help.

question
I from argentina , bands here according to http://www.mobileworldlive.com/maps/network.php?cid=3206&cname=Argentina
are 850/1900, but when i see for example france i found http://www.mobileworldlive.com/maps/network.php?cid=123&cname=France
i found it has 900/1800/2100, can i install U3_01.14.2 with the 850/1900/2100 config file??
thanks for your answeres

hi,
I just installed RUTEM_U3_01.14.2 and would like to make it support 1900 network too with your conf files, however I can't find any /etc/system folder in my phone, only /System/etc but no bp_nvm folder inside
Where do I put your files ?
UPDATE:
found: /system/etc/motorola/bp_nvm_default/

Waiting for confirmation that this works with ATT...please let me know when someone finds out

I noticed the exact same thing, I have a European 900/2100 phone I'm using in Canada. My provider is 1900, so I never had 3G to begin with, but after flashing 1.14.2 my 2G reception weakened and EDGE turned to GPRS. I scared myself enough getting stuck at the Moto screen playing with basebands the first time, I think I'll wait a bit more before I go in for round two

suoko - Did copying these config files over improve 1900 signal? Did you have connectivity at all before, or was it just 2G, but after copying these new config files it is 3G?

my network uses 2100 only so 3g worked without modifications. I did this just in case I sell the phone

Hi
I can't fint the folder /etc/system... I looked into /system/etc, but I don't have a folder named GSM...
Suggestion? How can I check if the modded file are working?
Edit:
I'm very sorry! I missed the edit just three posts before mine... I got it!

Changing Band on T-Mobile PocketPC 2003 (XDA1)

Hi,
My XDA1/T-Mobile PPC is on the XDA Developers SER 1.2 ROM and it has utility wherein I can change GSM mode from GSM900 to GSM 900/1800 to GSM 1900. I recently upgraded through the T-Mobile WM2003 ROM and Radio exe file. Now, I wish to have that utitlity again becuase now I am in asia and it is practical to have the GSM 900/1800. But I am also been goind to the US from time to time so I don't want to lose the 1900 BAnd. Is there a utility somewhere where I can change band?
I saw somewhere that I can change band via the bootloader: I am not familiar with the bootloader can somebody tell me how to change my band to 900/1800? Is it easy if I want the 1900 band back beacuse I'll be going to the states in a months time, and after that I will be back in Asia again (so I have to change to 900/1800 again). Pls help. Thanks.
BTW my device information is as follows:
Hardware Ver. PW10B1
ROM: 4.01.16 ENG
Radio: 6.25.02
try changing which rom you have, maybe that will change the band

Hi,
If your device is B type, that means it's 900/1900 MHz (plz refer to the rear sticker and don't rely on the device info data!) ... so, in Asia you are stuck with 900 MHz ... anyway, changing the band from the bootloader is not that safe action ... some times it make the xda hang a need a many hard reset actions to get back.
I would advice you to get XDA II which is tri-band by design.
The latest official US T-Mobile ROM v4.01.16 still allows the bands to be switched within the OS, whereas with the latest official US ATT ROM vA.30.09 said to be able to switch automatically.
Thanks for the replies. So it is not recommended to switch bands with bootloader?
reydiodj: What do you mean by switching bands within OS? Does that mean I can still get 18000 frequencies?[/b]
thanks for the replies. No need for me to change the band, my device already works perfectly now.

No Service (I need 850/1900 mhz) Please help!

Hi, I´m from Argentina and the thing is that I have no signal, it says No Service in almost everywhere. I´ve been reading some and realized that in here I need the bands 850/1900, is there any way to make it work?
I´ve searched for this but couldn´t find anything
Thanks!!!!!!!
which rom are you using?
which radio rom do you have?
have you checked the phone settings (phone->menu->options->network)? there you can search your available networks and depending on your rom, even set frequencies. in general, the BA supports 850, 900, 1800 and 1900mhz networks w/o problems.
have you tested the sim card in another phone? maybe there really is no reception at your location.

Nice to see another Argentinean in the site (I was feeling alone for a moment )
It could be that your SIM card is not working properly. Also, try to soft reset and see if that solves the issue (it could be that you removed the battery and the radio drivers didn't load back up).
hi, the sim works great. I´ve traid lots of radios and roms.
I thought I was the only one from Argentina
Your ba works ok? can you upload the rom and radio you´re using? please? I´ve tried everything
thanks!!!!
both the rom and the radio stated in egz's signature are to be found in my signature's download collection.

Do what Chef says, as he mentioned both radio and rom are there.
ok thx you both, but I thought that worked in Argentina.
Is there any tool I cna use to set up the bands I need?? I´ve tried a cab called bandsel_bwwa on wm2003 and it only lets me choose 850 Or 1900 and another one that did let me choose 850/1900 but it didn´t work. Maybe the radio version? I have the 1.13.00.
Thanks again for the help

You should be able to go to Phone\Settings and in there I believe that there should be an option called "Network Options" or "Network Tools". Roam around there for a bit until you get to band selection. Sorry I cannot give you more specific instructions, but I honestly don't remember. This should be set to automatic though...

JPH CANADA AUSTRALIA 850mhz

Please
I need XXJPH
without csc
to keep my 850mhz
If anyone can do for us?
From already thank you very much
*#*#4636#*#* click phone info, click menu button and select select radio band and finally select usa band (that will enable 850 and 1900 for both edge and 3g) or automatic.
Worked fine for me but eventually a CSC file will come out.

May want to go back to 2.1 until a proper 2.2 build comes out with the proper CSC then if you are in a predominately 850 coverage area.
I am sure once the leaks start coming out for different regions we will get them.
I had the same problem on the i9000T.
The 850Mhz got disabled with JPH.
I flashed back to an official 2.1, updated CSC and got 850Mhz back.
Then flashed JPH back and retained 850Mhz.

what phone do i have?

its a galaxy nexus, but not sure what one, i want to make sure i got the right one to work on rogers network, i was on edge for years on my nexus one
Model number :Galaxy Nexus (ENGINEERING)
Baseband: I9250UGKL1
so will i at least get 3g on rogers with this
You have the GSM version which is pentaband. Although it is a engineering version, not sure why these are being sold but I don't think there are anything wrong with the phone.
So yes... you'll get 3G.
Network: HSPA+ 21Mbps/HSUPA 5.76Mbps 850/900/1900/1700/2100 / Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz / (Band frequency, HSPA availability, and data speed are operator dependent)

thanks for the quick reply, so adding a custom rom is straight forward then i guess..
You should probably be happy it's an engineering phone as that should have real radio S-OFF.

Pretty much. Short version without too many details
1. install drivers for phone.. make it recognize fastboot
2. fastboot oem unlock
3. flash su.zip (or use superboot)
4. fastboot flash <clockworkrecovery>.img (or after unlocking and getting superuser, get rom manager and flash)
5. make backup
6. wipe factory,dalvik,cache
7. flash flash away!

Upgrading to Bada 2.0

So i have a Canadian Wave S8500 running 1.0, I have flashed a Europe O2 firmware for 2.0 and WOW is a major change the only problem is the modem, my SIM no longer works. I tried flashing the modem from Bell Stock firmware but it failed.
Anyway to flash the modem?
ASlso Anyone can recommend a FW that works with North America?

Thanks for that, i never knew you could SIM unlock for free now, it actually worked with my Rogers SIM eventhough its a Bell phone. My problem now however is that it only works on Rogers, it does not work on Bell. The SIM is detected but cant make calls and this is likely because of a UK modem that does not support Bell frequencies. I need a North American Modem for Bell/Rogers and Telus.
Bell/Rogers are the providers? On what freq they are working? Because wave 1 is working on this
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 900 / 2100
HSDPA 850 / 1900 - North America
I try to help but i think you need help from someoane who understand modem functions....
yeah i tried looking for compatible firmware for NA but have had no luck.
