The Elements - Tablet - Adam Themes and Apps

I am currently working on a version of my app, The Elements, specifically for the Adam and similar tablets. Currently this app is available in the Demo section or the Android Market. You should be able to transfer it to your tablet if the market is not available on your tablet. Because this will transfer straight into the finished product it does cost 2.99 (price libel to increase with introduction of Wolfram|Alpha API). For those of you who check it out, please send me your thoughts and let me know what you think I need to fix or add. Thanks.
Been doing a ton of work on this lately. Spending all my spare time on it basically. So far I've got the List section near finalization. It still has work, yes, but you can get a pretty good idea of what its going to look like when its done.
Again, please send me all comments. All are welcome.
Check it out here

THANK YOU!!!!
I am sooo glad this is going to be available on Android, I've used this on the iPad and thought it was amazing!!!
Heading straight over to buy this delicious app.
Anyone on XDA reading this, please consider buying this to support this devs Android efforts.
Once again, thanks Amon!

I've been trying to buy the tablet version for my Advent Vega Tegra tablet running Android 2.2 but the Android market website says it is "Not available for your carrier"
It does not appear in the Android Market on the tablet, although your two phone versions appear there.
My tablet does not have a sim slot and no 3g capability and thus does not have a "carrier".
Do you have any ideas how I can purchase your app?
If it's of any relevance I'm in the UK.

My apologies. I have not been able to get all the countries information entered yet into the market. I will work on that later and you should be able to get it by tonight. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Just so you know I expect this to be comparable to the iPad app but this is NOT the same. Nor am I affiliated to the creator of the iPad app. I do realize that they have the same name. I have not looked at whose came first nor am I sure that it matters seeing as I am on a different platform. Just want to clear that up. I intend to make it a great experience though and thank you for your support. I hope that I still have it.

The WinMo App Store

Freeware PPC, and the numerous FTP sites, along with device update, and PDM.
These are the many places I've fund over 85 different applications("apps") that I run on Windows Mobile 6.x.x. These all being in many places, sometimes hard to find, sometimes easy to find. Other "apps" include going to a website, made for and by the "app" parent company.
I have around 500 cabs on my HDD, updating and reorganizing them all the time.
Now say I make up a handy spreadsheet(on my phone) That goes over screen size Supported OS versions, and various other things including a description. Is there any way that someone else, that has a lot better understanding of mobile "app" writing than I do, take the info I compile, and apply it to their Marketplace for window Mobile, the real one.
I would hope to include my best Icon(that may take a while), and Potentially server mirroring the apps, since I already keep all the "apps" I use and have acquired, in a very organized fashion.
The style of PDM I like a lot more than M$Marketplace, the search feature is nice(sorting ITL and WWE is convenient. The touch interface, such as the drop down info, is also well implemented.
Device Update on the other hand it awesome, its simple, very similar to the OS it runs on.
I know WinMo is dead, within a few months from this threads initial post, it will be outdated, and completely forgotten shortly thereafter. But I know plenty of people sticking with at least one older model(e.g. HD2) and the apps are really out there.
Anyone care to work on this? I just lost my main PC and have been using my phones word processor and multiple web browsers to keep myself as close to a real PC as possible, this also had me downloading apps for usage similar to what I was doing on my PC.
Alongside this, I read an article about why someone is using the iPhone 4 as a "daily driver." When it came to his comparison of the apple, android, and WinMo marketplaces, he went over how although there is always an app there for WinMo its painstakingly hard to find. This is true(at least to those average consumers) and as he mentioned the Marketplace holds 1100 "apps."
I've been using a PPC since 05-06(can't remember...) and love what WinMo has had I.M.O. Over the other OS's. I have always been able to find exactly an app(s) for that. Normally in the larger "collections" I've grabbed from the net, there are thousands in each 0day pack and he was releasing them on a regular basis.
I also know that this could really help the platform, it would be the user made the marketplace. Then what's stopping M$ from handing us helpful(outdated e.g.. code) info that can make our app store even better.
I don't want a mimicking app store(although a skinnable one would beat unique) I just want something that can help out and be user made, user maintained.
Let me know what you guys think.

XDA Marketplace
Hi,
Nice to see your thoughts on this...
xda member 'davidgida' has developed an application 'XDA Marketplace' (thread)
Your repository would be a great addition to it ... I will point him to this thread as I have pointed to his
Hope to see a great partnership come in place !
I would love it if you upload your cab files to the xda market
If you have an idea what could be improved on the xda market or a feature you would love to be added just PM me. Every new idea is welcome.
EDIT:
Nearly I forgott:
This is the official thread for the xda market: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=707988
Wow, I saw this thread drop off the main page listing so fast, I figured all was missed.
Glad to find the App that's here already, Just got my Tilt2 Monday, was busy borrowing other peoples internets to flash deepshining on it. Got it up and working the same day I got it.
I'll try to get my FTP server back up. I'm currently running all my computers in my office on shared shared internet. Tethering to my main rig, and sharing the net to the other three. My switch recently died, and the wire running from the lower floor died shortly thereafter. I've been only online with my phone.
After I get the XDA app store on my phone, I'll compare my list to yours, then null out the duplicates. The spreadsheet I can custom tailor to similar categories, but I haven't seen the layout yet. Hopefully it will only take me a few days to write up some descriptions.

[Q] RockPlayer Missing from the Android Market ?

Hi
I can't find RockPlayer on the android market does anyone know what happened to it ?
Me neither
PM me if you need a copy
it looks like they took it down a little while back?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=704261
You can get it from here.
You can also look for arcMedia in the Market, which also plays DivX files - it's not as good quality as RockPlayer IMHO, but it is good enough.
Regards,
Dave

That's very old - pre-Market release. It does seem that it has been pulled from the Market now though.
Regards,
Dave
Thanks for the feedback guys but does anyone know why it was pulled from the market ?
google pulled every version apart from the ARMv6 version, i assume the dev pulled that version out of protest or somthing
AFAIK google classed the app as Warez as they did not have a licence to run the codecs it was running (or something like that). This is why its no longer in the market, and it may not make a return.
All versions have now been pulled from the market.
See this is what pisses me off about android, alot of people moan about supporting developers, well i supported RockPlayer by purchasing the full version for £10 now there no longer in the market, so i got a free app, paid extra money to support a developer i thought was actually worth investing in and now they've gone from the market, if it was there choice or googles ive had no information or comunication from RockPlayer on how or if there will be any updates from this point on or have i just given them £10 for nothing. I paid for the full Arm 7 version even though i have found a cracked version that gives the full version with the validate option removed and all the paid features added, but still thought they were worth supporting.
I hope im wrong & rockplayer will someday return, but stuff like this makes me think i should just use illegally obtained apps instead of throwing money down the drain.

We are returned as a unified package, thus users need not worry about CPU model things, please search RockPlayer now in Market. And it is always available on our website anplayer.com .
Would you please share me any original words or info from Google side? Indeed they didn't gave email notification or any explanation, even we complained through Market support page. We guess it is because our app cannot run on all CPU, there are so many video players using FFmpeg, but seems we are only one distinct CPU for performance.

Best decision ever!

I am so glad I returned my nook color and bought the elocity tab. I am having such fun playing with all the apps I've come to love on my galaxy vibrant and found a lot of new apps to play with. I recently updated the samsung to froyo which now allows wireless tethering. That is the best invention ever! I didn't even need to be in the same room as the samsung and it didn't lose the wireless connection on the elocity. I connected the elocity via hdmi to my hdtv and watched some online shows which was very cool. Discovering cool browsers like netfront has left me with about 5 browsers to choose from. I found a betterkeyboard.apk and shapewrite.apk and installed them both. I just like having options. Fun games like pinball, frogger, nintaii, etc makes the time fly by on my commute. I initially bought this to get back into reading via ebooks, but I've not read any of the free 70 books I've collected in the nook application.
There's not a lot of activity on this thread though. I guess that people are only posting when there's a problem. Oh well...happy surfin!
I like mine too. Thanks for listing that browser. I'll try it later.
I've been able to read so much more with the tablet. I returned the Nextbook 2 and 3 just before I bought this. I think this will suit my needs for a long time.
Perfect for reading and watching video.
nextbook
was hoping to find a fix to connect my next book via wireless router app on my sprint htc touch pro2.
I'm enjoying mine as well. I bought it mainly due to the HW specs and Android OS and it's been a pretty cool little gadget. I am still figuring out just how to configure things the way I like. And I'm still toying with the various browsers out there. I like the built in one but I've grown fond of Opera-mobile too. I gave Firefox mobile a test drive but it's not quite ready for prime time yet as they say.
I have a stand on order from Amazon and that'll make it easy on the hands while I read the news over breakfast each morning. It's really fun to see the new Dexter Mods as well. Seems like every other week a new flavor is ready. Pretty slick.
How did you manage to d/l & install the Nook app? On the B&N site it says the Nook for 'all' android devices is just for smartphones
Thanks.

This is all new to me as of last Thursday when my Elocity A& arrived in the mail so please bear w/me and my probably annoying questions. So, what is dextermod and where/how do I get it???
When you say "it's available in the market" are you referring to the Nook app or dexter mod?
If I could get the Nook app on my Elocity then I think everything would be pretty perfect.
Thanks for all your help.

dextormod can be found in the elocity a7 development section, and the direction on how to install, be sure to read thread before installing to understand everything.
Our devices do not come with android app market, so you can not download most android apps with out the market, for example the nook app, which is proved in dextersmod
Here's the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=890042
Just finished streaming dexter season 5 from my A7 to my panasonic 50" amazing picture I love my A7. I use it to watch shows at work during breaks play emulators with 360 controller. Couldn't ask for more out of a single device!
I do not have the mod, but, I do have the latest Nook app on my A7. I installed it on my Android phone, backed the app up to the SD card in my phone. Transferred the app from the phone to my tablet and installed it. Works great!

GrooVe IP suspended from Market

RESOLVED - app back in Market!
Looks like Amazon still has available.
It's a great app!
That's right it is still available on the Amazon Market but many of us have already purchased it on the Android Market, that is the issue.
Yes, I understand that as I purchased there also. Stinks that it's gone, probably carriers pushing for its ban.
I'm curious as well. Great app.
It's definitely the best voice over IP client for Android. I'll make sure I keep my copy backed up.
Y'all take a minute and write/call Google about it! Let's make them explain themselves! It's not right to do a dev like they did.
Here's the response I got from Google:
If you'd like additional details about why the app is no longer on Android Market, we recommend you contact the developer directly - we cannot provide any more information as to why the app is no longer available.

That seems like a borderline dishonest reply in this case.
Looks like it's back up in the market.
Sweet, I was looking for something exactly like this! I can now natively use my Google Voice account in Canada without having to worry about forwarding numbers, etc... Just bought it for less than any other US to Canada service out there

Yup it's back in the Market. Apparently Google took issue with one of the lines of description, something like "Google Voice VOIP". Thankfully this issue, or non issue rather, has been resolved.

[Q] Android artist resources

Other than seeing stuff that people have submitted on youtube or deviant art, I'm not having much luck finding sites that are specifically for artists on an android (or IOS) platform. I've started on a spreadsheet that lists out the available tools on android and what features they have so they can be compared but I was wondering if there was a site that talks about that kind of thing specifically? I dont find the descriptions or reviews on the play store particularly helpful as the only scratch the surface of the tools functionality and its only after purchasing that you realise its missing x, y or z meaning you need something else as well.
I also like to watch video's of people drawing and would like to see more of them to help me pick up techniques I hadn't considered as a digital newbie.
Any sites you can share with me?
I am getting the Note 8 just so I have the artistic on the go work I want to do. I am looking at photoshop and sketchbook for my drawing needs but like you have not seen much on doing art on android. Maybe its time to start a site
I will post any info I find here that might be interesting to artists.

Sounds good, I currently have PS touch an sketchbook installed not sure what samsung included. I will help with any apps or info I can.
I will look into a site for images and forums for android artwork. I only have android so I will only do this this if I can control the site from my note 8. Will post back here about it in a few days, still learning the note an want the weekend to figure stuff out.
Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk HD
I'm tempted to start a new site using webs.com or something similar specific for mobile tablet artists, but not sure if I will or not yet as it would probably take more upkeep than I'm willing to perform. I mostly use the web while at work but only have limited access and I'm rarely on PC when at home.
Anyone want to help? At the moment the note forums are all seperate but the apps and resources that we all use are common to everyone. My vision is for a front page that would link to various tablet specific resources, guides, reviews etc. List out the tablets with stylus support with links to the xda forums and a forum for people to share there art. discuss apps, techniques etc etc.
I may be able to get this chart finished as well...
