[Q] Headset Adapter - Galaxy 3 Accessories

Hello, I have a Nokia 5800 which I use for listening to music. I want to buy the Samsung Galaxy i5800, but seeing as listening to music is the primary thing I will be using this phone for, I gotta ask: Does Samsung Galaxy i5800 have something like the Nokia HS-45 headset adapter? Since I'm a new user i cannot post a picture, but if you google images for Nokia HS-45 you'll see what i mean. Does Samsung Galaxy i5800 have anything similar to this device?

this?
you can use this with our phone

Can that be used on the Samsung? I mean, do the play/pause/stop/back/forward buttons work?

Hmm
I am also looking for something similar.

I still can't find a headset adapter with working play/stop/backward/forward buttons. Any help is appreciated. Tried several Nokia headsets, sound works, but controls don't.
Can the music on Samsung i5800 even be controlled with a headset?

I use this bluetooth earphones in which all the buttons works flawlessly:
http://shopping.rediff.com/product/bluedio-av890-stereo-a2dp-bluetooth-headset/10616877
But don't expect the sound quality to be good with its bundled earphones. Changing the earphones makes the sound a bit better.

i have both nokia 5800 and samsung galaxy 3.... the nokia 5800 headset cannot control the music on g3...
i use nokia bh-214 stereo bluetooth adapter... it can play/pause and fwd/back on the g3.... and the bundled earphones are quite good.... you can even plug any other earphones on it if you want...

What headset?

What headset are you all using with your HC Touch?
Let us know what audio quality is like for handsfree phone function and listening to music/MP3s. Please also share your experiences in using the included HTC headset (which I think is appalling)

Had it two days - Sony DR-BT10CX Bluetooth stereo/handsfree - great for running and excellent sound quality for both calls and music.
Cheap too!

That looks great.
Unfortunately I have already a great headset... with 3.5mm connector.
Is there any MiniUSB-to-3.5mm-adapter?
Thanks

Yes, but this is without microphone. Just for listening music.

Thanks, but the description says:
Description
Use this adaptor to convert the HTC Touch extUSB socket to support any 3.5mm stereo headphones. The adaptor also has a hangup/answer button for normal voice calls through a stereo headset.
So I think it has a button
Thats great
Jawbone headset is amazing
I have ordered one of these after hearing from many people just how good these are. I got mine from Expansys.co.uk

Man, those things look/sound badass...I might have to pick one of those up - I don't really have a quiet car, and I LOVE driving with the windows down! Hefty price tag on eBay though - pay to play though, right?
If you are looking at the DR-BT10CX, I suggest you get the DR-BT20NX instead because it got a remote for music - same earbuds and receiver essentially.

The HTC headset works fine for calling and music. For use in the car I have a jabra BT5020 and quality is good, auto-pair ofcourse.
I'm thinking of DIY-ing the usb to 3.5mm audio jack, does anyone have any idea how the usb connectors corresponed to the audio outputs? thanks!
Been shopping around now, since I saw that Jawbone...but I'm wondering...
Is there a Stereo Bluetooth headset with noise-canceling technology out there that anyone knows of???
I've been searching, but to no avail.
Motorola S9 for Stereo and Plantronics 665 for phone
If I am not listening to music I use the Plantronics 665. If I want to listen to music and take calls I use the Motorola S9 stereo BT headphones. The S9 is amazing for quality and fit. Don't let the strange (to some people) design fool you. These are high quality headphones. I have compared these to the Motorola 805s (DJ style) and HT820 (behind the head) and expected the S9 not to sound as good - not true. All 3 Motorola headsets sound great, but for the size the S9 sounds overall just as good if not better. I didn't like the sound of the Jabra BT headphones and the Plantronics over the head (590A) headset sounded good, but not as good as the S9.
By the way I tested a Jawbone and was not impressed at all. Didn't like the fit, sound was only OK and if you need the noise cancellation you have to press a button on the unit for 3 seconds to turn it on - each time. Certainly this is good technology, but for me the Plantronics 665 fits better and over all sounds much better.
I am using a Jabra BT620s for music and calls. Sound quality is very good. Nice fit, good battery performance and fits nicely on my head It has blue leds on both sides that blink when in use, its a bit weird at first but once you get past the oooohs and aaaahs from everyone its great
Has controls aswell (next, previous, volume up/down, accept call/hang up, play/pause) The accept/hangup key has the extra function when not in a call, it activates the voice command program so you can talk commands to your phone
has anyone tried SE HBH-DS970 with this ? comments ?
thx
sorry this is a double post
Anyone tested the HTC Touch E100 or W100 Wired Remote Control?

-Does it work on the Touch?
-Does it work with HTC Audio Manager?
-Does the FM Radio works?
What's the difference between E100 & W100 model?

I have a Nokia CK-7W buildin carkit in my car (company carkit) which also had bluetooth. Unfortunatly this bluetooth connection gives alot of problems when calling.
I can hear people fine but they hear constant break-ups in the connection. I tried it with a Sony bluetooth headset and everything worked fine.
So dont use the touch combined with a Nokia CK-7W
I'm using the Sony BT20NX and theyre absolutely the best. High quality stereo audio with AVRCP (?) remote profile which works with Windows Media Player, Audio Manager, and TCPMP. The headset is comfortable to wear, blocks outside sound so you can enjoy music at a low volume. The sound is clear and the connection is solid. The buttons are easy to use and I use it for MS Voice Command too, which is awesome. Perfect headset, if you can still find them (I heard theyre discontinued).

bluetooth adapter for corded earphones

I have good corded earphones with integrated microphone and answer button that acts also as a playlstop button for the audio player on phone.
My question is, is there some simple bluetooth adapter that I can attach my earphones to it, and use them as wireless earphones?
I Know there are many expensive adapters with integrated microphone and controls but I already have earphones With good microphone and controls I I only need a simple adapter.
Thanks in advance.
Sony Ericsson MW600 allows you to connect your own headphones. I have it and it is great. It does have it's own mic though so not sure how it would cope with another mic on the headphones.
So that's what my question is about, because i don't want to buy it and then it won't work well with my earphones.
Couldn't wait to set up combo mw600+ibeats

What about jabra street2/clipper , or air-fi AF9 ?
anyone tried them?

Headphones and Phone issue

I noticed that some bundled headphones in a phone's box will not be compatible with some other phones...
For ex: I tried my cousin's Nokia In-Ear headphones on my Motorola defy and it didn't sound well (there was the sound of the sides only, like no sound in the centre, with a lot of echo, etc) and the same happens with my bro's Samsung Galaxy S in-ear headphones with my Optimus Black...
The issue is:
A friend of mine is going abroad so I took the opportunity to tell him to buy a pair of headphones for me, principally the Kicker HP1973 and I was wondering if these headphones may have the same problems as with earphones included in phones' boxes...
The Kicker Hp1973 is an Over-the-Ear Headphones without Mic and which fits the iPhone.
Does this issue happen only with bundled headphones?
Aldo I am using the Android powered device LG Optimus Black..
Thank you in advance!!
EDIT: I got the headphones and they are working great!
This thread can be closed I guess
Sony Nokia Samsung Htc all use the same standard as each other so if you have Nokia headset should work on all the phone listed.
As far as I know motorola and lg don't support 3button remote.

While I haven't tried it with my S2 per se, i have used the BH 505 with a variety of different devices including Nokia 5530, iPhone 4, and even a Samsung Galaxy Ace, and it worked fine, with all music and call controls working (barring to the fact that talking to it was very awkward, as the mic way up. However, i would NEVER recommend the BH 505 for running. Firstly, you can feel the heft of the headset as it flops up and down with every step you take, and it's a lot of pressure on your ears. Secondly, despite what Nokia advertises, it is not very sweat resistant. On coming in contact with sweat, the controls would stop working for a day or two. Finally, it's not even built very well, and it broke off in two different places.

Do the official N4 headphones work on the N5?

Do the genuine LG Google Nexus 4 stereo headphones HSS-F400 work on the Nexus 5?
These are still available online in a few places online and I like the fact they have the Nexus branding on them. Can anyone confirm whether their sound quality is any good?
Thanks
Any headphones work, I mean they all work. As for sound quality, not sure. I still have the pair from my Gnex and they still work.

There no reason any headphones wouldn't work across any device or manufacturer.
sent from my Nexus 5
Thanks for replying. Well you say that any headphones should work on any device but the headphones that came with my old Samsung Galaxy S and before that the pair from my Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 certainly do not work properly on my Galaxy S3 or my Nexus 5. It's like those headphones were based on a different standard - same jack, different output. That's why I asked.

All 3.5mm sound peripherals are standardized but there could be some alternate function that interferes with the phone's operation if it has inline controls. If it has a mic that should be pretty standard as well.
Most 2.5mm and 3.5mm mobile audio now used TRRS where ring 3 is used for ground and sleeve is mic - standards (CTIA/AHJ) that are good for Apple, HTC, Sony & most Android devices. Some might be wired with ring 3 for mic and sleeve is for ground instead. If you come across it, you can get an inexpensive adapter on eBay to reverse/conver it.
The left & right audio channel are the same, however - so for listening purposes, they all should work ... :fingers-crossed:
I have not received any headset with the N5...but I would like to buy one motorola bluetooth headsets for my N5 as I just used of one of my friend and I really like them...so wondering to go for them....
N5 does not come with nor ship with any headset.
Standard & popular bluetooth headset are fine, I've both Motorola & Jabra BT headset setup for use with it, recognized it & did not even ask for a PIN - but I did change the device name to something more unique so that other BT headsets nearby won't connect to it by "accident" although I usually turn it off unless I'm on the move.
